Girllll this was the best food I've had in quite some time! I would come back just to order a bunch of different ceviches, they blew our socks off. And the Lomo Saltado was to die for. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better the brownie and tres leches were phenomenal!! Everything tasted so fresh and you can tell they really put their all into their food. Our waitress Isabel was also so lovely and attentive :)

Occupying a historic renovated 1920's railroad car diner on Park Street just off Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair (previously occupied by Plum on Park then Mikki and Al's Noshery), Fusionista offers tasty, freshly-made Peruvian cuisine with Japanese, Chinese, and Korean influences in a moderate ambiance with attentive, friendly service. The menu features a range of authentic and innovative Peruvian and Japanese-influenced appetizers, entrées, and desserts. My dining companion and I started with the Charapa Ceviche ($23), featuring (uncooked) fresh fish marinated in a yellow pepper-infused 'Leche de Tigre' sauce and topped with sweet and green plantains, avocado, and a freshly-made relish of finely diced red onions, tomatoes, and Peruvian hot peppers called chalaquita criolla, which we really enjoyed. I opted for the Jalea ($26), a generous portion of breaded and deep fried white fish filet, shrimp, calamari, and mussels served alongside several pieces of fried yucca and a zesty onion and lime sauce called salsa criolla. My dining companion ordered the Salmon a la Maracuya ($32), a generous piece of grilled salmon topped with a passion fruit reduction and served with cherry tomatoes, caramelized sweet plantains, and sautéed asparagus. Both of us thought the appetizer and our entrees were made from very fresh ingredients and very tasty. The cozy space, which features a clean and modern aesthetic, only seats about 25-30 people. The servers are able to spend a lot of time with each table to explain the menu and provide their recommendations. Our server Brian, who also happens to be one of the owners of Fusionista, was excellent. He offered helpful advice on the menu and kept our water glasses topped off during our meal. PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of your favorite wine or beer from home or stop in one of the liquor stores within a few blocks on Bloomfield Avenue to enjoy with your meal. Fusionista is a BYOB establishment. PRO TIP #2: Bring cash. Fusionista has added a 3% surcharge for using credit cards to pay for your meal. PRO TIP #3: Download the ParkMobile app. You can pay for parking in Montclair via the ParkMobile app whether you park in the town's garages or metered on-street parking. Parking in the Fullerton Deck (located at 15 Park Street), located just across the street from Fusionista, is free after 7pm. If you've got a full-size pickup truck or SUV (or perhaps even a midsize vehicle), don't park in the Fullerton Deck. The ramps between the garage's levels are very tight and there is plenty of evidence on the concrete wall demonstrating the many folks that have tried and failed to navigate the tight turns.

Small cozy restaurant with an enclosed outdoor seating area. Service was ok. The waitress was attentive, The ceviche mixto was good. The purple drink was similar to Caribbean sorrel, and decent. The seafood rice was salty and taste like the ocean. The salmon was well seasoned, the asparagus was freezing cold and they only gave two pieces, the plantain was unseasoned but good. Overall, this place is overpriced and not that great.

Fusionista is a modern, Peruvian restaurant. Small, quaint restaurant with friendly staff and food to be served in various colors and flavors. We had a few tapas which stretched out to make us so full, I almost forgot our entrée didn't come out yet. One of the tapas, the calamari one, was light and crisp to perfection. It was paired with a few pieces of Arugula to make it go well together. It was the first time I didn't see calamari not served with sauce on the side. However, delicious as it was. All our dishes were served fresh. My gnocchi wad housemade, very filling with the few pieces of shrimp, heavy cream and sprinkled with parmesan. Many Llamas on the walls in Fusionista. How can you not smile? Colors were vibrant and welcoming. Thank you to the friendly staff. All payments were accepted. Parking maybe tricky outside, continue reading the signs.

Small Peruvian restaurant with tight seating & great Saturday vibe. We have order roast pork belly, seafood ceviche, fish stick with fries, grilled hanger steak with veggie pasta,, grill salmon and Peruvian fried rice. All cook to perfection. Excellent paring of 2017 Opus One BYOB. Finishing up with rice pudding, Peruvian cheesecake and tiramisu. A wonderful dinning experience

I looked for pictures of the salmon. I had never had fish with a passionfruit reduction, so I was intrigued. It pairs well with the asparagus and sweet plantains. Hefty amount of plantain, skimpy on everything else. I was disappointed with the portion size and the salmon was overcooked with burned skin. I think they might give you more food when dining in as opposed to takeout. They also charge a merchant fee for takeout, so I recommend ordering pickup through uber eats as opposed to takeout if you want to save a few bucks. I would not even have noticed that if I didn't find the restaurant on uber eats first.

A quaint cute spot that serves up authentic Peruvian cuisine! Very welcoming staff that are full of smiles! Their house ceviche taste like ceviche I ate in Lima! Their Kausa was smooth tasty goodness and their fried calamari and fried pork belly are to die for! Highly recommend washing it down with their passion fruit and chicha morada juice.

We made a reservation. It's a very special and cozy little shop. The food has a unique flavor and is delicious. The service is also very fast.

In the area and wanted to try something new! Our server was Jhosimar was welcoming and helped us choose some pretty tasty dishes. The restaurant has a fun laid back vibe in a cozy train car-sized space. Our Aji de Gallina Croquette had a good depth of spices and it was seasoned well, not to mention a very generous portion for some Tapas. The flavors were amazing on the octopus and Lomo Saltado. The octopus was perfectly cooked and sat on an elegant yuca mash. The food was a flavorful, modern take on some Peruvian or Peruvian-inspired classics.

Lomo Saltado - A ceramic plate contains Lomo Saltado with rice, French fries, beef chunks, and vegetables like carrots and onions, garnished with herbs.

Food was good! I've definitely had better Lomo saltado but still pretty good. Chaufa and yuca huancaina were very good. Service was good.

Lomo Saltado and Linguine Huancaina With Lomo Saltado

tasty food! loved the lomo, only thing was the lomo with rice had the tiniest bit of rice. for the time, this is fine since my bf is in a low carb phase, but normally would be upset with the amount of rice. for the lomo linguine the pasta was suuuuper cheesy. like almost kraft mac and cheese kind of cheesy. this wasn't a problem for me since I like that flavor and cheesiness, but that might not be the case for others. the ceviche was delicious and pretty big- good enough to share between 2. the inside was interesting with little peruvian decorations. railroad style sort of restaurant, I could guess that it might have been a diner in the past. i'd return to try more food!

Delicious, interesting Peruvian tapas spot! I samples a variety of dishes and everything was tasty, especially the croquettes and the ceviche. No alcohol, but a variety of traditional mocktails.

It did look like that they were struggling a bit with tables staying longer than they expected which caused a few reservations to be backed up while we were the walkins. I do recommend getting reservations here. I/we ordered a ramen, the cola wings, and the detroit style pizza. They were nice enough to separate the single serving of ramen into two bowls which was really nice of them. The Ramen was good but a bit salty. The cola wings were alright I wouldn't say they were the best I ever had. I did have difficulty placing an order at first, but once the man realized i speak some spanish and wanted to order food, he seemed to try to apologize and took my order. When i came in for pickup i was greeted by two workers who did indeed only speak Spanish. I think they forgot to cook my order because when i asked them about my pickup, the man was startled and asked me to wait an addition 10 minutes. After waiting, i received my order and paid (cash only). As a side note, they do have two small tables set outside for those who want to dine in. Despite the issues I had with getting my food, i have to say I am very impressed with the amount and quality of food. It really took me back to food in Peru and I was so happy to have found a good local shop. We asked for the spicy ceviche mixto and arroz chaufa mixto as well.
