We had dinner twice in one week. 2 Rotisserie chicken entrees one with fries and rice. The other with rice and a side salad. Lomo Saltado Pollo was our favorite. Well seasoned sautéed chicken, onions, peppers over crispy fries. Small dining space Restaurant is tad warm on hot days Great customer service

Came here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. I found parking on the street. When I came in the staff was extremely nice and friendly. They walked me through the menu and recommended some things for me to try. I got the quarter chicken with french fries and a salad , along with a side of rice and beans. Everything was good, fresh, and hot. I really like their green sauce because it's spicy. Different from other green sauces that I had. In total I spent around $26. I will definitely come back to try other things.

I want to preface this review by saying that I am Peruvian and grew up in Peru so my standards of Peruvian food are very different than other people who may not have tried or may not be Peruvian. We came here on a Friday night and this place was very quiet, but they did get a lot of takeout orders so maybe that is their main business which is great for them ! They have enough seating despite being a fairly small place. The service here is definitely much better than your usual Peruvian restaurants in New Jersey so that is the main reason why I am not giving them a one star. We got their passion fruit juice, which was very good and so was the cancha they put for the table. I ordered their tallarines verdes and my boyfriend ordered their jalea. Again, both of these dishes are what I grew up with and have tried not just in Peru, but also at other Peruvian places in New Jersey and, unfortunately, what I tried at this restaurant was not Peruvian food. The tallarines verdes tasted just like pesto sauce, which is not what it's supposed to taste like, tallarines verdes has a very specific taste because it has not just basil but also spinach, queso fresco, evaporated milk, etc. all which gives it said Peruvian flavor - what I ate here was not tallarines verdes, it was pasta with pesto. The steak was OK, I got it medium rare and that's what they served me, but I do have to say it was a bit salty. Now onto the jalea - this was basically just fried seafood, which is very disappointing. Jalea can look like fried seafood, however, it tastes very different, because we use different seasonings and sometimes even a different flour. On top of the food tasting just like Italian fried calamari rather than a traditional jalea, it did not come with salsa tartara, which further cemented us, knowing that this was not a true Peruvian place. I think it is good that they are trying to put Peruvian food out to other cultures, especially in the area of Montclair, but this is not a good attempt at it. It really breaks my heart to have to write a bad review for a restaurant that serves my country's food, but that is unfortunately what I have found here. There are good Peruvian places in surrounding areas and even a good Peruvian restaurant in Montclair as well that gives a better alternative to what this place serves.

This was very disappointing. This did not taste like Peruvian food at all. the calamari tasted like below average calamari at an Italian restaurant and the fish had no real flavor to it. Also, it did not come with any sauce for this which you are given at every other Peruvian place that serves jalea. The service was good but that doesn't redeem how disappointing the food was. The restaurant was a small-medium size with comfortable seating and it was clean.

Delicious! My husband and I were so excited to see this new eatery pop up near us and it was delicious! It's primarily a to-go/ pickup/delivery type place but there's a counter top with stools incase you decide to eat there. We chose to eat there and the food was delicious. The price point was a great value for the amount of food. I ordered the cancha, 1/4 chicken with fries and he had the 1/2 chicken with rice. The chicken was sooo tender. The green sauce and garlic sauce added even more flavor. Staff was friendly and the space was super clean. Will definitely be back to try more!

Place is welcoming and had nice natural lighting. We got their Huevos Rancheros, roasted chicken, tuna chaufa and lomo saltado. everything was great - good portions and beautiful flavors! Especially loved their Earl Grey latte too. the flavors of tea and espresso were very well balanced I would love to get that drink again. Also got their smores cookie for a nice sweet ending. We ended up chatting away even after we dined. Staff was very polite reminding us they needed the spot and was also kind enough to give us a some time even before the reminder. Would definitely recommend this place!

My friend and I asked if they sell pan con chicharrón, and though they don't have it on the menu, the chef (Brian) said he'd make it for us! First impression of the service ... amazing. We got the pan con chicharrón and I truly almost cried! I have not had one as delicious as this one in Jersey! The pork was tender, yet nicely fried, and there was not as much fat on it which is always hard as the fat gives it the flavor but too much can be overpowering. After talking to the chef, he mentioned that it is no longer on the menu because people didn't really order it ... so here I am, asking you all to go in and order it, so it can hopefully go back on the menu and everyone can try authentic and delicious Peruvian breakfast!! HUGE shoutout to Brian for creating something that brought both me and my friend a true sense of home

The town it self was having some pavement work being done and it was difficult to find parking. I was driving away when I eventually found a spot and walked about 6 minutes to the location. As I got there I could see that the restaurant was full and lively. The hostess was friendly and communicated our wait well. It did look like that they were struggling a bit with tables staying longer than they expected which caused a few reservations to be backed up while we were the walkins. I do recommend getting reservations here. I/we ordered a ramen, the cola wings, and the detroit style pizza. They were nice enough to separate the single serving of ramen into two bowls which was really nice of them. The Ramen was good but a bit salty. The cola wings were alright I wouldn't say they were the best I ever had. As for the pizza it was good, however when comparing with similar offerings in the area, Buckys in Chatam, NJ is superior for Detroit style. While, the this particular place did not meet MY standards I would still recommend as a nice date spot!

They have 9$ lunch specials on weekday's, which I got, while my friend got the ceviche. Both our meals were fantastic- you can tell the corvina was super fresh while my soup and pork chop was cooked to perfection. Make sure to get the emoliente- it's freshly brewed and very unique. It kind of reminds me of sweetened herbal tea with barley and fruit overtones.

A modest restaurant, that seems to be run by family/close friends, which turned out to be some of the best peruvian food ive had in New Jersey so far. I really was craving ceviche and peruvian fried rice when I stumbled on this local store on Yelp. I did have difficulty placing an order at first, but once the man realized i speak some spanish and wanted to order food, he seemed to try to apologize and took my order. When i came in for pickup i was greeted by two workers who did indeed only speak Spanish. I think they forgot to cook my order because when i asked them about my pickup, the man was startled and asked me to wait an addition 10 minutes. After waiting, i received my order and paid (cash only). As a side note, they do have two small tables set outside for those who want to dine in. Despite the issues I had with getting my food, i have to say I am very impressed with the amount and quality of food. It really took me back to food in Peru and I was so happy to have found a good local shop. We asked for the spicy ceviche mixto and arroz chaufa mixto as well. The ceviche had a very good kick and was the best Ive had in NJ. Arroz chaufa was served in a large tray and was an unbelievable portion size. It looked and tasted very home-made and definitely could serve at least 2-3 people. For the price, taste, and quality of food, i dont think you could find better in NJ. It definitely adds fierce competition to larger peruvian restaurants. I know I had difficulty ordering but I do appreciate the hustle of a family serving its community. If you speak spanish or are willing to pick up google translate Id definitely recommend coming here. Will be back!

The restaurant is small, seating only about 25-30 people, creating an intimate atmosphere. However, the lighting is so dim that I had to take a second look just to read the menu. I'll start with the positive: our waiter was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. My only criticism was that he couldn't really recommend a standout dish when we asked what the restaurant was known for. For appetizers, I ordered the octopus. Unfortunately, it was inconsistent. Half was perfectly tender, while the other half was so tough it was difficult to chew. It was served over an ajillo sauce that was good, but not enough to save the dish. My husband ordered empanadas. The steak filling was much better than the chicken. He asked if he could order one steak, one shrimp, and one chicken, but was told they don't allow mixing flavors. For my entrée, I ordered the ribeye with white rice and beans and added a lobster tail with butter sauce. The ribeye itself was cooked well, but the sides were disappointing. The beans had a strange flavor, and the rice was mushy and completely lacked seasoning. The lobster tail was fine, but nothing special. The ribeye was $58, and adding the lobster tail brought the plate to $72. At that price point, I expected an exceptional meal, not one where the sides were the weakest part of the plate. My husband ordered the skirt steak with peppers, French fries, and maduros. His steak was good, but we both agreed the side options felt like an odd combination. The menu could definitely use some more thoughtful pairings. We boxed up our leftovers, but unfortunately the food didn't even reheat well the next day. Our bill came to $233 for two people. On top of that, gratuity was automatically added, and there was a $10 fee for paying with a debit card. That was an unpleasant surprise and made an already expensive meal feel even more overpriced. For over $200, I expect to leave saying, "I can't wait to come back." Instead, I left feeling like I had paid Manhattan prices for a very average meal. Unfortunately, this wasn't the experience we were hoping for, and I don't think we'll be back. FYI: everything says M/P on it for Market Price. Which means they can charge you what they see fit which gives me an inconsistent vibe.
