    two plates of food

This spot has indoor dining during covid. We ordered lomo saltado and the fried seafood platter. We got the personal sized seafood platter and the size was huge. It was served with red onions in lime and a spicy dipping sauce. Both were very delicious! And the owners were very nice!

Ceviche Mixto. I'm not a fan of corn nuts but the food was so amazing and flavorful.

The food was so well packed and flavorful. I ordered the ceviche mixto. Not a fan of corn nuts but the rest of the food was amazing.

My family and I were visiting from Austin TX and were looking for authentic Peruvian food. Read the reviews on this place so had to try it. Reviews did not disappoint!! Food was all amazing especially the ceviche DELISH!! The owner and her son were so welcoming. This place is a must if looking for authentic Peruvian food!!

I this place. Amazing food that tastes homemade and the portions are generous. Get the ceviche and the chaufa!

Asktved for the spiciest they had, and they delivered. Nice kick and didn't over power the taste at all.

The ceviche is amazing!!! Holy f#@k! The chaufa de carne amazing and plentiful for the price! Parking is a little tricky but on a weekday it should not be too bad. I will be back!!

Ok so the only reason I gave this place a 4 and not 5 is because of the service. It is absolutely terrible, they gave us small plates to eat out and we ordered different appetizers and refused to give new plates. However, the food was absolutely amazing. Honestly everything was a 10 on the food. This little old lady in the back and boy can she cook.

Our favorite place to visit (mandatory actually) when we go around the area. My fiancé is Peruvian and he made it a point to try the food here...he wasn't wrong! If you want a reminder of good, homemade food, this is the place to dine in.

The food was amazing. My group had four people, we all had something different and no one had any complaints. I had the lomo saltado and the beef tasted very fresh. Nothing seemed pre-made which is good. The chicken chaufa tasted and looked great. Small cozy spot. Call ahead to see if they are opened. Will definitely be returning and bringing my family. Closed on Wednesday's.

After driving around for over 30 minutes trying to find parking in a notoriously difficult area in Newark to find parking, we finally parked about seven blocks away. When we arrived around 6 p.m., the restaurant was completely empty. The hostess and waitstaff were all sitting on their phones at the hostess stand, and the rest of the staff was seated in the kitchen. It took a few minutes before anyone acknowledged us. We were seated in the floral themed area that feels like you're outdoors but aren't. The chairs were uncomfortable and kept sliding against the door. From the start, our waitress seemed annoyed by us and made us feel like we were not welcomed. We ordered the mussel appetizer, which came with corn, tomato, and a cilantro vinaigrette and it was delicious. For our main dishes, we decided to share the seafood soup and get the Pobre Steak, which included steak, white rice, sweet plantains, and fries. I wanted to order the Tallarine pasta with steak as well, but when I started ordering, the waitress abruptly took the menu and walked away before I could finish. She seemed irritated when I asked to upgrade the white rice to Chaufa rice as shown on the TikTok and other photos, but she said that wasn't an option. I decided to not to order the pasta for myself when she decided to come back because I already knew it was time to go. When the food arrived, the soup came without rice, which struck me as odd since most Spanish style soups include it. When I asked, the waitress said the rice was extra, so I ordered a side. The soup arrived about 15-20 minutes before the other entree. The flavor was decent, but the seasoning had an off, almost stale taste, and the yuca was undercooked. The Pobre Steak was taken to go because we were uncomfortable and the eggs on top were partially raw, and the fries were undercooked. The steak itself was well seasoned and tasty, though. Which shocked me honestly even though it needed a little char. The only other customers who came in during our visit were American and another waitress seemed equally annoyed but did have a better attuitude than ours. When the bill came, the server said, "I'll wait for your card," as if we were about to leave without paying, despite not having complain once. Also, the restaurant adds an automatic 18% gratuity regardless of party size. While I usually tip generously, I find mandatory gratuity for small groups frustrating especially when the service was bad and made us feel unwelcome. We had planned a relaxed date night, but instead, we left and went to our original choice for drinks, apps, and dessert. Overall, it was not a great experience, and I won't be returning.

They had a live band and it was LOUD (just a warning for those who do not prefer that; I didn't mind it at all). The food was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was aside live acoustic guitar covers and quite the vibe to complete the quality food that was served impressively quick. Octopus Skewer - deliciously tender, paired magically by the herbaceous green sauce with a kick; the fried plantains add a tart sweetness, and the maize is fascinatingly large. The restaurant is colorful, lively, and has a great atmosphere without feeling too formal. We started with the Tuna Wantacos. Our server warned us that they were spicy, and he was right -- definitely a little kick, but very flavorful. The white fish ceviche was bright and refreshing, with that tangy, salty leche de tigre that really wakes up your appetite. The Lomo Saltado was hearty and satisfying, but my favorite dish of the night was the Seafood Arroz Chaufa. It came topped with an omelet and had squid, fried shrimp, and plenty of seafood throughout. Really comforting, savory, and filling -- I would absolutely order this again. We also had chicha morada and a passion fruit drink. I've always liked purple corn drinks, so the chicha morada was an easy favorite. We finished with a chocolate dessert, which was a nice ending after such a big meal. Overall, a very enjoyable Peruvian dinner with fun décor, good flavors, and plenty of variety. I'd definitely come back, especially for the seafood fried rice.
