The food was excellent, beautifully plated and full of flavor. No complaints there. What I do have an issue with is the automatic gratuity being added without verbally mentioning it. An $11.50 tip was already included on my $93 bill, yet the itemized receipt showing that charge was wrapped around my credit card, while the signature copy with only the total was placed on top. That presentation feels intentional and misleading. Most people would sign without double-checking the tucked receipt and could easily tip twice. If gratuity is being added, even for a party of one, say it clearly. Transparency matters. Great food doesn't excuse shady billing practices. read more

I hate writing negative reviews, but I'm doing so in hopes something changes at this location, though I doubt it will. Every single time we've ordered from here, whether it be delivery or from the bakery, there's been a problem. Whether it be deliveries taking upwards of 2 hours or them forgetting something in the order and refusing to correct. This time was the last straw. This is the SECOND time this happens where I order from the self serve screen at the bakery, and ten minutes pass and nothing. There are no less than 7 people walking around aimlessly and chatting amongst themselves. I see my receipt print from behind the self serve screen and a few minutes later, one of the employees grabs the receipt and throws it in the trash and starts cleaning out the case. No one asks if I need help. So I asked what's going on with my order and the guy said to asks the woman behind the counter who couldn't be bothered because she was counting something. I told them I want my money back and she matter of factly just handed me the return receipt without any concern or intent on correcting their lack of service. I'm done. I know I'm not the only one because I've seen other customers express their disappointment and the staff just couldn't care less. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

We ordered two cafes con leche, and each of us had an entree. The coffees came in these adorable big coffee mugs Christmas themed. Service: The service was friendly. Ambiance: there were a couple of tables sitting down around us. I like that they have huge tv screens so you can watch sports. Was in the area and needed some Columbian Cuisine so I decided to give this place a try and was glad that I did. The food and service were both pretty solid and everything that we ordered was thoroughly enjoyed. Can't ever go wrong with Carne Asada and the Pechuga a la Plancha had so much Grilled Chicken that it didn't even fit on the plate, which was very much appreciated, lol.   I've been to some other of their locations and so far this Noches De Columbia is one of their better Restaurants. This place is chef's kiss**** the ambiance and decor is so nice. The menu has a good selection. The portions are pretty big. The food is seasoned well. The chicken wings are crispy and hot on a sweet and spicy sauce. I got the mar y tierra saltado which was delicious. The veggies were not too overcooked and the sauce was savory. I stumbled upon this place after leaving my massage session and I'm so happy I did. It made the day even better because I love a good and authentic meal. Price to portion ratio was amazing and the food taste it really fresh, and well seasoned. The decorations and vibe of the restaurant was really nice, I love the background music and the bathrooms were really clean. The shrimp arepas were so succulent, perfect small bite and my main dish the Frijolada was so good. Tender chucks of sausage, fried pork and ground beef meshed well over the beans and sweet plantains. I can't wait to visit here again and try some more of their dishes, and bring my fiancé. We started with the picadera trio which is chicharron, chorizo, and arepa. The chicharron was mega hard and bland as if it had been sitting under a lamp forever, the chorizo was the same. The arepa was ok. It was t nothing spectacular. I ordered the Pargo frito and my Husband ordered Churrasco. He said his steak was nicely cooked. My Fish was huge, fried nicely, but very bland. I had to tell the Waitress numerous times to get me limes to drizzle on it. The fish came with Salad that looked like it was taken out of the bag and thrown on the plate. Not even washed. I had to ask the Waitress for dressing, and it also came with Fried French Fries which were ok. The Music.... They played damn Romeo Santos all night and then switched it up to some Bollywood music. You are Colombian!!!! Although its nice to listen to Variety in Music.... I think I would have appreciated leaving it at your roots with some Awesome Vallenatos. Dont over think it. I visited this Montclair location for a late lunch one weekday afternoon with a small group. Let me tell you, the Monday-Friday specials that are available until 5 PM are a steal! I ordered the Carne a la Plancha/Grilled Steak one for $11, and there were fish, pork, and chicken plates too for about the same price. They all come with maduros, house salad, and rice, and you can choose between soup of the day or beans. I got the beans which were actually in a bowl and were like a bean soup. I found my lunch to be quite hearty and couldn't even finish all of it. While everything was flavorful, the spice fans at the table were really digging one of the hot sauces. The service was very polite and attentive. My passion fruit drink ($5.75) never made it to the table but promptly showed up when we brought up its absence. It was delicious and would probably make a perfect dessert drink too. read more

Great consistent food. I've eaten here numerous times by dining in and ordering takeout. Food is tasty. My go to is arroz con pollo with tostones and maduros. I was hoping to be able to leave a positive review for this place, but unfortunately I can not. I was actually headed to a Cuban restaurant a few blocks away, but I decided to just have dinner at Noches instead- BIG MISTAKE! We walked in and immediately got a table since the restaurant was half empty. It took the waitress about 10 minutes to come to the table to take the drinks and appetizer order. The drinks came out about 10 minutes later, and the empanadas arrived after about 20 minutes after that! The empanadas were pretty good but nothing at all to write home about. After ordering our entrees, we sat for 43 minutes before I decided to get up and find the manager. The manger was rude, defensive and dismissive! I was told "we have larger parties here and they come first." I should've walked out then..... The food: Horrible! Every dish came out barely warm and was pretty much tasteless. My salmon was over cooked, and the salad it came with was not fresh. Everyone at the table had something negative to say about what they ordered, which was quite disappointing!! To top things off- we all became violently ill on the way home! Even my 7 year old who only had chicken fingers and fries (which I don't suggest ordering btw) was sick as a dog! It was so bad, we had to pull the car over! Too many cons to list for this place! Example- no parking, super slow service, rude manager & awful food. Spanish for phone orders is required! Fluency in Spanish is becoming non-negotiable. Previously accommodating to English speakers, recent changes have rendered communication sparse and frustrating. They used to be pretty good at accommodating English speakers or limited, Spanish speakers, even providing bilingual assistance over the phone. But now? It's like pulling teeth to get any info when you call. They'll place you on hold without a word (in either Spanish or English, when they hear English spoken) and might not even bother picking up if you call back. Always a big fan of noches! I started working in the area and had to stop in for goodies. My favorites are the beef empanadas, pan de Bono, and chicharrones. They're a big hit for my family! I also love their shakes. Their passion fruit is my favorite, you can choose milk or water for your shakes. It is a little sour with water, but that's how I like my passion fruit! They were doing their best with covid. Their employees are all wearing masks and gloves, social distancing was enforces, and plastic partitions were in place. To further elaborate, at the beginning of our dinner we were told we was able to split the check two ways, however when the final bill came out, it was one bill. We attempted speaking with the manager to separate the bill into two separate checks with certains meals and drinks on either bills, and he agreed. Despite specifying which meal would go on which bill, they decided to split the check evenly in half after our clarification, which defeats the purpose since not everyone meal was the same price, this cause some of our party members to pay $20+ more. Prior to coming to the Montclair one, I had been to the Noches in Clifton, Elizabeth, and Union City. This is one of the better locations as it relates to the food, parking, space, and proximity. Also note this location is BYOB. If you had to choose one dish only, I would recommend the bandeja paisa. I've been eating this dish for years and it never gets old. They give you a platter (yes, a platter) with steak, sausage, egg, chicharron, rice, beans, plantains, an arepa and avocado. It might be unhealthy but it's oh so delicious! Everything is well seasoned and compliments each other very well. The serving size is huge so you'll definitely have leftovers. I've also had some of their other dishes including the breaded chicken breast, grilled chicken and shrimp in a creamy wine sauce, and their Churrasaco (the skirt steak) entrees.
