    The cost of the meal

Bistec Encebollado Combo was not good not to much seasoning so added salt and pepper. White Rice and Beans yes. Salcochos Soup too much tomato sauce they did put a lot of meat but with the overpowering of the tomato sauce the meat was not flavorful. Arepita de Yuca & Alcapuria were not how I remember tasting bland flavor. Only favorite of mine was Habichuela con Dulce, you have yourself a winner. Just how I remembered. If it weren't for the discount from DoorDash this order was over $60. Would not recommended to friends or family.

Just took this, they still don't have this as being delivered. It's now 2:44.

I made the mistake of ordering lunch from here. I waited forever for the absolute coldest, driest food I've ever had. What a disappointment. At 12:21 I placed a GrubHub order for pernil, sweet plantains and a soda. I was a little alarmed when the order page said it wouldn't be here until 1:40-1:50 (that's not a typo, I do mean well over an hour). This food is prepared in advance. All they have to do is stick it in a tin and send it on its way. At 1:55 I checked the tracking and it still said it was being prepared, so I called the restaurant. The young woman who answered put me on hold, then came back on and said the food was out for delivery, they just hadn't updated the tracking. Uh huh. I don't buy it. I know how long it takes to get to El Sabor from here, and it's about 10 minutes. Finally, at 2:12 the driver calls me to say he's here. I go outside and he's nowhere to be seen. Then I see him park across the street and walk over with the food. I get into my office, sit down, open it up and the pernil is cold as ice. Then I open the plantains and they are bone dry. No sweetness, not warm, not fun. They're not even sliced well. this is an incredibly sad lunch and I am disappointed. I love Dominican food. I have some favorite spots closer to home, but this was so disappointing. I won't order again.

    Beef empanada

Stuck between giving them 3 and 4 stars but I'll go with 3 just bc there's so many other options nearby. I ordered from Grubhub and delivery time was estimated between 75-85 minutes and the food was delivered within the hour. As for the food, I tried the res guisado (stewed beef) lunch combo, an order of tostones (fried plantains), and a quipe and empanada. The prices are pretty good but the seasoning for the beef could've been better and the quipe was missing something , not sure what. The empanada was pretty good however, and the tostones were ok. Experience wasn't terrible but not sure if I'd order from here again just bc there's so many other dominican options nearby.

    Ribs with rice and beans

I ordered for delivery ribs with rice and beans THREE ORDERS and they had the audacity to give me ONE rib per order. Skinny rib at that. My bill was $40 plus tip and I got THREE ribs. That was insane. Guess I won't be going there no more if they so stingy with food.

So disappointed! I love to order here, and the food is delicious but I waited 2 hrs as of 9:03pm will be TWO HOURS. For two eggs, two salamis and two cheese for the mangu that's was delivered and 1hr and half ago And I wanted extra onions, I repeat to the gentleman that was taking my order "Extra red Onions" I got non for my 3golpes! Shm the call wait to For my missing food was another 15-20min to get an answer from an employee then they told me to go pick it up, because I would need to wait for it!!! As of now, me writing this post, I still haven't receive the rest of my food!! Last time ordering I just got my food!! 9:08pm

Beware of that Kraft cheese Empanada

Food was OK. I would give it another star, but I havnt ate inside so I cant comment about their services. I order Chicharron with white rice, red beans, beef and cheese empanadas. Chicharron was as expected so was the beef empanadas....but the Cheese Empanada was made of Krafts Yellow American cheese. White cheese, man......its suppost to be white cheese....

My wife and I had the potato ball and alcapurria for appetizers. I've had better potato balls at El Artesano at Union City, their alcapurria tasted and felt like it was refried 3 times over. We left most of it. For entree my wife ordered Meatballs in red sauce with white rice, I got Codfish in white sauce with Black bean Moro. Her meatballs tasted like store bought meatballs, the ones you would normally buy at the freezer section at a Stop N Shop. My Codfish was bland and tasteless. It had too many peppers, not enough Codfish. But it wouldn't have made a difference if it did contain more of that tasteless Codfish. The best part of the meal was the dessert and the service. Our dessert was Free, thanks to a Yelp check-in. I got us Trés Leches. It wasn't overly sweet, just right, very moist and tasty. Our server was Ericka, she did a great job, friendly service and attentive. I wouldn't come back for the food, but I would for its desserts.

Bola de papa, fried fish lunch, and fried eggplant.

This is a good find for delivery, and I plan to order from them again. The lunch special is a solid deal: I got four fresh-tasting pieces of fried fish, a huge plate of rice, a cup of stewed beans, and a fresh salad for $11. The real bargain is the sides and appetizers. An enormous stuffed-and-breaded potato ball is $1.50, a steak-sized eggplant fritter is $1.00. Next time, I might order a few sides and skip the entree entirely. All of it tasted pretty good, and surprisingly fresh given the price. Delivery was a little slow, and the food was cold; I had to reheat it. Still, I'm not complaining; it's the best lunch I've found in the area. Note that the bala de papa is stuffed with meat.

Could not help myself and came back for another tres leche dessert. Just as amazing the second time as it was the first time!

Ordered a variety of empanadas, mangu breakfast and lunch de pernil. Everything was delicious. Only complaint was that it took almost 2 hours to deliver the food. The ONLY reason i took a star away. Other then that everything was great. Definitely will order from here again

Food was magical! This place is fantastic. If you are looking for authentic Dominican cuisine this is it look no further. Service was good although I would suggest more staff members up front to help ease the traffic for the to go service but the food was amazing I totally recommend!

    Best mangu ever !

I was automatically greeted and helped with my decision. I ended up getting two plates to go, one with rice and beans with pernil and the second with rice beans with bistec. The food was very delicious esp the bistec is was so soft and juicy definitely recommend it. I know this place was good because my mom even complimented the food and she's hard to please. Haha. Also both of these plates were very affordable and we even had food left over. Surprisingly, this place has been open since August and it is still up and running. I spoke to one of the owners and she was so down to earth and wanted her customers happy. She gave me a run down of how they run and all they offer. They deliver, they make large plates for parties and what not. Finally, they have a diverse section of deserts that I need to try because I have a sweet tooth! Can't wait to be back!

Known for their empanadas. A few parking spots out front, not really meant for dine in anyway. Wasn't busy at all on the Monday afternoon I went, but I wouldn't be surprised if most of their orders were just Uber eats or catering runs. Price Point: Around $2.50-$3.50/empanada. Overall seemed very reasonable for the quality/quantity of the food. The rest of the items seemed well priced too although I only got empanadas. Pros: Service was quick, food was made fresh, and everything tasted delicious. It was a very simple lunch run for me and it was executed perfectly. Cons: Since they weren't very busy, they weren't sure if they had the gyro meat for my gyro empanada, but were able to find it and whip it up. Could've just been an off day and they were waiting on inventory, which isn't much of a con, but it's the only thing that had potential to ruin my quick lunch. Overall: Highly recommend trying this place out! Never knew it existed and I'm certainly going back for more empanadas and other food.
