The Peruvian food is on another level The purple potato causa limeña was absolutely outstanding -- incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with authentic flavor. You can truly taste the quality and attention to detail. The lomo saltado was excellent The beef was tender, perfectly seasoned, and had the ideal balance between traditional Peruvian flavor and a modern touch. Everything was fantastic -- the service, the atmosphere, and the presentation. Definitely a 10-star experience This restaurant has tremendous potential, and I will absolutely be coming back. So delicious and tasty! My husband and I finally made it in and I'm so happy we did! We ordered the mini arepas, papa à la Huancaína , Lomo saltado, and Lomo saltado with gnocchi, and an extra side of veggies. The sauces and flavors were incredible! I ended up dipping everything in the huancaina and gnocchi sauces. The portions were very generous. We definitely ordered too much but couldn't stop eating! A local gem for sure! read more

Cute little Peruvian Restaurant in Montclair. It's BYOb but they have a menu where you can order bottles for delivery. The food was ok. The potatoes were a little hard with the lomo. The octopus was a bit hard as well the ceviche was decent but not earth shattering. Overall an ok location to eat. Service was fast but there weren't many people there. read more

We had dinner here last night for the first time and were extremely happy with the meal. We were early for our reservation and were the only ones in the restaurant, service was great. We had corn cakes with avocado and pico, and chicken croquettes to start, both were really good. I had a fried fish and seafood in a spicy sauce, very good. My daughter had the gnocchi and beef in a yellow sauce, this was the my favorite of the dishes I tried. My wife got a salmon dish that was also very solid. My friend and I visited Terra for Sunday brunch. We started with the octopus, which was tender and tasty, served with golden roasted potatoes. My friend ordered the burrata and beet salad while I had the ceviche mixto. Something I found interesting is that they give you the option to add heat at your own risk by providing a spoon with chopped spices. My friend really enjoyed the burrata and roasted beets. The place is BYOB with street parking available. It's only been open a few weeks, and I wish them much success. Friendly service and good suggestions. We had the pleasure of eating at this AMAZING restaurant last week. The restaurant was clean and cozy with an elevated feel. The server was very kind and helpful with any questions we had about the menu. We didnt have to wait long for our food, and when it came each plate looked beautiful! We were all very pleased with our dishes and sad it was our last night in town as we would've LOVED to come back to eat. Last but definitely not least for dessert we all got the Tres Leches cake.... let me tell you... that thing was AMAZING!!! There wasnt a dry spot in the whole thing. The presentation was beautiful and it tasted even better than it looked. My husband doesn't like tres leches and he gobbled it up... lol... it was amazing I wish I could have it every week . Whoever is in the kitchen DEFINITELY knows what they are doing we ordered 3 (2 Salmon dishes and 1 Sea Bass dish not pictured) different meals and all got the tres leches and it was ALL good! My wife and I invited another couple to join us for dinner at Terra. Terra offers a Peruvian / Latin American / Italian fusion menu, and It is a BYO restaurant. It was our first visit to the restaurant. We tried both mussel appetizers - baked and ceviche style. The mussels were huge and plump and perfectly clean. The mussels were as big as oysters! The ceviche style was bright and citrusy. The baked mussels were bathed in a rich red sauce, slightly spicy and smoky. We also shared the Octopus appetizer, beautifully charred and coated with a delicious savory glaze, served with crispy herb roasted potatoes. The chef also provided a preview of a new dish that will be added to the menu soon - a Tiradito (ceviche) featuring salmon and avocado, arranged artfully. For main dishes my wife and I had the Pescado a lo Macho - a deep fried fish fillet topped with sliced octopus, shrimp, and calamari, bathed in a delicious sauce. Our friends had the Seafood Fettuccini. I didn't taste it, but they were very pleased with it. And for dessert we all had the Chicha Morada Cheesecake - light and creamy, with a delicious crunchy crust. Overall, we were absolutely thrilled by each and every dish. As we tasted each dish, we commented "I'd come back here, just based for this one dish". For the entire meal to be so consistently memorable and delicious was a real delight. Adrian, the owner, was a wonderful host, helping us navigate a menu of dishes that we were not familiar with. We also asked to meet the chef, Evelyn, to thank her for the wonderful meal. For those of you that know Montclair, you know how much of a challenge it is to find convenient free parking. Terra has it's own parking lot right next to the restaurant. I highly recommend a visit to Terra. I'll certainly be returning, and I look forward to introducing many of my friends to this wonderful dining experience. read more

Didn't like how my lomo was almost raw had to send back, and also my moms salmon was raw, we ordered the Peruvian drink and they didn't have anymore and we wanted the chocolate cake they didn't have it! Terra is a real gem. We came here yesterday for lunch. The space is attractive and comfortable. The food is outstanding- excellent ceviche and causa. The coconut shavings are a subtle flavor, mixing well with the almond milk and chia to form a tasty type of pudding that is not so sweet. I like chewing on the mint periodically between bites, quite a heightening flavor with the meal. The establishment offers a variety of indoor seating as well as seating areas. What a great find for Montclair. If you're in the mood for great Peruvian food, then this is the place. The decor is hip and modern. We ordered the Spicy Rocoto Ceviche as appetizer. So fresh and great heat. For our meal we ordered the Lomo Slatado with Aii Amarillo Linguini and the Pasta Al Pesto with Chicken. What amazing flavors and so much food! The gentleman that took care of us was attentive, informative, and very professional. Their traditional pescado was excellent and the shrimp in garlic sauce was 5 large shrimp and the Mediterranean salad is large enough to share with the table. Despite having dinner reservations, the owner sat us in the front with no ambiance and by the drafty door. It was Saturday night and only 1-2 other tables. The reason no one comes here is because the food is mediocre and portions are tiny. The service is slow and water was only refilled once. There is only 1 waiter.
