Please don't go here, the woman taking my order had food in her fingernails and I can see her in the back handling the food with no gloves.

My boyfriend and I came here because of the great reviews, but unfortunately our visit was nothing like we expected. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The host literally pointed to our table instead of walking us to it, which immediately felt unwelcoming. No one introduced themselves or even told us who our server was, so we never knew anyone's name throughout the entire meal. Throughout our meal, no one checked on us even once, and we had to flag our waiter down multiple times whenever we needed something. Plates and drinks were also repeatedly slammed down on the table, which came across as rude and unprofessional. Every interaction felt rushed, and the staff acted like they were annoyed we were there. The customer service was awful, and it made for a really unpleasant first experience. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

The spring roll was really refreshing, the grilled kbbq was very flavorful, although my only downside to it is that it's really chewy. It's a pretty big establishment with plenty of seating. There's parking out front since it's in a bit of a plaza area. Service is quick, and they bring you everything you need to the table, including the sauces.

It was a bit amusing since the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, aside from one table and only one other couple came in by the time we finished our meal.

I ordered the Cajun surf and turf (shrimp) on a bed of garlic noodles. Everything was cooked perfectly. The steak was crazy tender and well seasoned, the shrimp had a nice pop, and I could have JUST had a plate of noodles; they were that good. The Cajun sauce complemented everything well. Even the smattering of green beans, which were probably there to add color, were outstanding. The restaurant itself was comfortable ...which is a compliment. The parking was easy. The service was outstanding. The prices were ...lower than they should have been given how delicious the food was. I will definitely recommend CK Kitchen and Bar to my friends. We came here for a birthday dinner, but with Mother's Day and graduation around the corner, I can't think of a better spot. Well done, CK.

The menu is full of fun, creative dishes, and everything we tried was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helped make the experience even better. My only advice is to come hungry and be ready to explore the menu. Just be sure to bring your wallet, as this is definitely not an inexpensive dinner. That said, the quality of the food, service, and overall experience made it well worth it. I'll definitely be back for a third visit.

On my first visit, I tried almost every small plate on the specials menu, which ended up being a mistake because that didn't seem to be where the restaurant shines. Several of the dishes, including the tako wasabi and monkfish, were heavily salted and difficult to enjoy. Because the restaurant had such strong reviews, I decided to give it another try and focused instead on the barbecue items, skewers, and dipping ramen from the main menu. Everything I ordered the second time was excellent. The skewers were savory and flavorful, the barbecue meats were tender, and the dipping ramen came with wonderfully bouncy, chewy noodles that paired perfectly with the rich broth. I'm glad I gave Kemuri Tatsu-ya another chance. I'd definitely return and would recommend sticking to the main menu, especially the barbecue, skewers, and dipping ramen.

Did not have a reservation on this occasion, but they always make me feel welcome and manage to fit us in. Sat on the outdoor covered patio that was cool and shaded. The atmosphere is modern and lively, making it a great spot for a weekend brunch. Started the meal with cocktails including Lycheetini with Deep Eddy Vodka, Giffard Lichi-li. lemon, cranberry, I cut the cranberry. Also had a Fresa Paloma with Socorro Reposado Tequila, Contratto, strawberry, lime, grapefruit, five-spice that was very sweet and garnished with a flower. You are given a card where you can mark your dim sum selections. I ordered the Shrimp Pancake, Snow Crab Ball and Chinese Sausage Sticky Rice. The standout was the shrimp pancake that had a really great texture and flavor. The snow crab ball had a strange texture with shrimp surrounding the snow crab claw. The Chinese Sticky Rice is always a favorite. Also ordered the Truffle Egg Fried rice and Birds Nest with Seasonal Vegetable. The Truffle rice is so flavorful like a flavor explosion in your mouth. The Birds Nest is made with fried potato shreds which contain the a variety of vegetables including cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms and asparagus. The nest is also edible and has a crunchy texture. The presentation of the food is amazing and everything came out hot and fresh. The flavors were on point, and you can tell there's attention to detail in the preparation. Service was attentive outdoors and the pacing of dishes felt just right for a relaxed brunch. This restaurant is truly a gem whether you come for brunch or dinner service. Will definitely be back.

The person who answered the phone mentioned that it tends to get pretty busy, but didn't share much else and seemed a bit brusque. Despite that, the pictures of the food looked really tempting, so we decided to give it a try. Parking was a breeze. We parked across the street in the Whole Foods lot because we planned to do some grocery shopping afterward. As we walked in, we were given the option to sit on the patio or just sit at the countertop. We chose to sit inside at the countertop. We ordered Peking duck, honey beef, and hot and sour soup. I also went with the braised ox tail. The hot and sour soup looked very flavorful, but to me, it tasted more like water with just a little hot oil on top. The Peking duck had a good flavor to the meat but the skin wasn't very crispy. The braised ox tail was so tough to chew that I had to send it back. I make the same dish at home with star anise and shaoxing wine but I cook mine for 48 hours on a lower simmer and the ox tail always falls off of the bone. This oxtail at the restaurant was too tough to ever fall off of the bone with ease and there was no tenderness to the meat. We also ordered the mango bomb dessert which was the best dish of the night. The orange flavored chocolate spoon worked really well with the mango bomb's delicious flavors with the edible flower petals and raspberry flavored crumbles. I could eat the dessert all day long. Altogether, the quality of the food is not as good as its presentation. Yes, dessert ended on a high note and that is probably what the restaurant hopes that people would remember as they leave so that they forget the earlier dishes that looked great, but didn't taste so great.

It sounded familiar and I wanted to…read moretry it, but the fish tacos were calling, so we split three tacos and then restaurant-hopped back here to try a B'bimbap bowl. There was a place up in Hurst the hubs enjoyed called Burning Rice, and we wanted to see how this compared. Overall the bowl was really good. They don't do the crispy rice in the stone bowl thing; the rice was just normal steamed rice. But I ate way more than my share! Everything in that bowl was pretty tasty. The hubs thought black beans were an odd choice, but I'm good with the extra fiber. I also realized I am a sucker for the sweet Gangnam sauce they put over everything. What I really can't get over though is the steak--there is no way steak at that price point should be that tender! I was expecting the kind you chew hard and it gets stuck in your teeth but no, every bite was tender and flavorful. I would 100% eat here again and 100% order that same bowl. Veggie dumplings were just okay, and I really hate miso and that was the main flavor in the dumpling dipping sauce. I'll skip that next time. This location may do a booming biz at lunchtimes but was pretty lonely at dinner. We didn't see anyone else dine in while we were there. The seating area needed some attention; there was food on the tables and floor and a big spill in the corner. They've also stacked a bunch of Igloo coolers against the wall in the back. Oh, and there were two different playlists playing at the same time, which is a cardinal sin in my book! So we walked in and I was pretty sure we had made a mistake by being there, but the food won me over!

The Robot Ramen was light, yet rich, the meat was succulent (and not too thin, at the risk of being dry) and the noodles were al dente--both were cooked nicely. Lastly, the Pork Chashu Fried Rice was a burst of umami flavor, from the shoyu glazed pork rib to the shiitake mushroom lying underneath. Solid dish--no notes! Service: No complaints! We had a reservation and were seated immediately upon walking in. Our waiter was attentive. Ambiance: Casual, modern. A vibrant experience, to say the least, from the flora draping from the ceiling, to the warm colors permeating throughout. Parking: Street parking available. Pay note of parking signs!

Really enjoyed the Pom mule drink on happy hour. The cucumber refresher was a little too sweet for me. The spinach dumplings and barbacoa dumplings were both great! Loved the sauces that came with both. Chicken karaage was what you'd expect, would probably try something else next time just to try something new. The hira hira roll was really good! The way they presented the sauces made it slightly hard to dip your roll in it, but would still order again. My friends loved the transformer roll. Yuka-tekkan was a let down for me, just not very flavorful. Overall, would definitely come back for some rolls and the happy hour! There is better sushi on s congress but I still think this is a solid choice. Inside has really cool decor and would be a good place to bring someone to impress a date.
