Shockingly good. We stopped by for lunch between games at a nearby soccer tournament. Hammonton turned out to be a cute little town and Funky Cow had some of the best waffles I've had anywhere. The savory waffles especially were perfectly crispy yet tender. read more

They have amazing food. Great service. Came on small business Saturday for lunch. My parents split the chicken and Cuban sandwiches. My wife and I had chicken soup and split chicken sandwich. This place would hold its own dropped onto Newbury St in Boston, or Bedford Ave in Brooklyn. Ricky has made great contributions to the field of waffle science and has some delicious creations, both savory and sweet. Pretty neat joint! My boyfriend and I had split two waffle sandwiches. One was on special which was a pork Benedict and the other was from their menu which was their grilled chicken sandwich. Both were amazing but forgot the bacon on the chicken sandwich. Not a big deal.. but I was a little put off that you had to buy a bottle of water there. We were informed the restaurant had no ice and it would just be warm tap water.. also not a huge deal but just strange a restaurant doesn't have an ice machine. This is a great quick bite- light and delicious. Service was super friendly and quick. I ordered the funk'n chicken and the waffle was light and fluffy and the siracha mayo added a nice kick- not too spicy. What a great little hidden gem this is. The food is amazing and so so fresh. Quality ingredients that taste delicious. I had the turkey cow I believe it was called (basically a blt) and it was heavenly. I could also rave for hours about the coleslaw. It had a spicy kick to it but nothing too crazy. Best waffles I've ever had and I'm not normally a waffle person! The soup was so good, I bought extra to take home. Plus Ricky and staff are friendly and outgoing! We stopped on a whim because of the name and loved the decor (we come from a dairy farm family). We will definitely be back! Ricky is very community minded and a real asset to the town. We traveled 3 hours to do business with a local farm. It initially did not go well but Ricky stepped up and helped us out. He is a terrific ambassador for his area!! I stopped here around noon, but I was in the mood for breakfast. I let the young man, whose name I forgot to get, talk me into ordering the Cuban. I was really hesitant because part of what makes a Cuban sandwich good is the bread and this was on a waffle. I was not disappointed! A coworker introduced me to this cafe after a rough first half day of work and OMG. This location is cute and perfect. She and I split the bbq pulled pork and a marshmallow ice scream waffle. Never thought I'd be saying the best Cuban I ever had would be served on a waffle, but it was. What made it work was that the waffle was not sweet but rather more like a gourmet toast. The creamy funky mustard sauce puts everyday mustard to shame. Possibly the only thing besting the sandwich was the owner's absolute passion for his craft and his business. It's infectious.
