Fresh-cut filets of steak (absolutely gigantic)

Good spot to get an occasional fresh-made stromboli bread, or their renowned blueberry sausage... but that's about all that this tiny Italian market has to offer. Their sandwich trays are decent, yet messy and not really worth the cost compared to just making it all at home. The hot-and-ready meals of yore that family used to pick up there, are now seemingly a thing of the past. Even the shelved foods have gone downhill over the past few years - No longer kept freshly stocked. There's nothing that makes this place stand out from the crowd anymore as a unique shop to stop into. Everything that you order comes out without a desired topping, or with one that wasn't even specified. I've even had a burger or two come out somewhat charred, mildly flattened, and spilling all over with every bite. Better quality could come from a fast-food joint in that case, and with new faces appearing here every few weeks, it's a wonder how anything at all can be kept stable or moving. Many people, close friends and family alike, talk about how great this spot was... and now, how badly it's turned over the past few months. It's honestly a shame, and I can only hope that they find a way to improve again in the future. Until then, I certainly loved the past great things this place gave!

Another shop within the Bristol Amish Market in Bristol, PA…read more The staff is authentic Amish/Mennonite, in frocks, bonnets , or beards and overalls. The meat looks fresh and thick cuts predominate. Focus is in pork, beef and a good variety of sausage ready for the hot skillet. We picked up some beautiful chops for dinner eating later this week, and some breakfast sausage which was too pretty to pass up. Prices still had the post Covid inflationary bump, but we are getting used to that. If as scrumptious as anticipated, the small increase in coin will be quickly forgotten. Besides, the road-trip out to Lancaster would cost us a lot more than the drive to the outskirts of historic river town Bristol, only 25 minutes from home.

M & J's is one of those butchers that cuts their own meat right on the premises, makes their own sausages by hand, in house and are more than happy to fulfill special orders and to answer any questions you may have on preparation. Plus discount coupons, on line, are often offered for a select item or two. You've never seen such large, thick slices of Canadian bacon, their smoked kielbasi is some of the best and they must have two dozen varieties of loose or packed sausages, which is insanely lean compared to what I used to find in the grocery stores. The Amish have even gotten with the times and make mild to hot grillers stuffed with various things, like bell peppers, onions, garlic, jalapenos and cheese. I love their loose sage sausage for use during the holidays. They have quite a few different breakfast links, including maple, but the cinnamon apple ones are a real treat! Plenty of fresh lamb is available in the Spring, coming straight from farms in Lancaster and nothing is ever frozen here, from mid March to the Easter holiday you can have as much lamb as you can fill your fridge and freezer with, until they run out. Hubby loves leg of lamb, while I am a rib gal, but I have had them de-bone a leg of lamb which I stuffed and it was so tender and delicious. They have every cut of beef or pork that you can imagine, the steaks are thick and lean, the smoked pork chops are some of hubby's favorites and I love their stuffed pork chops which makes for a quick meal. The hams are something to remember, some of the best and their slab bacon is thick and meaty. This is one of my favorite places to buy a standing rib roast to go along with my Yorkshire pudding, French onion soup, brussels sprouts and creme brulee for our Christmas dinner. Why do we do that, why are some of our favorite meals saved for certain times of the year? Maybe it's just me, but man I need to rethink this one, cause I'm so craving that dinner now! Oh yeah, into homemade scrapple ( yuck ) they have plenty of it!

This is hands down the lousiest Shoprite, and honestly the worst grocery store I've ever been to…read more I'm a local, and I refuse to shop here anymore. First off, I'm not sure what another reviewer meant when they mentioned a "comprehensive bakery." That must be satire, or maybe they work for the store, because everyone I know agrees the fresh goods selection here is terrible. Online ordering? Don't bother. Every time I check in, it's at least a 10+ minute wait. I've had to call the store several times when it took 20+ minutes for them to come out. Bags are never separated properly (frozen tossed in with room temperature, raw meat on top of produce, meats not properly bagged with juices everyone in the bag), and it feels like a coin toss whether your order is even complete. I've had entire bags missing multiple times in the past 2 years. And the substitutions/out of stock situation is laughable. I'll be told 5-7 items are unavailable, then walk inside right after and see them on the shelves. That's not bad luck, that's lazy shopping or poor management. In store shopping isn't any better. The shelves are often bare, and I never leave with everything on my list. It's poorly run, poorly stocked, and the whole atmosphere makes it obvious why the place is never crowded. For comparison, I now drive a half hour to the Acme in Mays Landing instead of wasting 15 minutes coming here. Night and day difference: stocked shelves, reliable online ordering, fresh variety, and a bakery that actually deserves the name. Prices might be higher at Acme, but my sanity is worth it. Shop rite corporation should be embarrassed by this location. It doesn't come close to the standard of other stores in the chain or surrounding counties. Until they overhaul management, improve stocking, and take customer service seriously, it will remain a store to avoid.

And I'm Italian, I know chicken cutlet. But I've never had it like that before. The place is spotless. Staff is everywhere, ready to help with whatever you need. I honestly don't get the negative feedback. I'm from Runnemede, NJ, and I thought our ShopRite was solid turns out, it's not even close. Also, side note: Hamilton must be hiding a modeling agency inside this store, because every woman I saw looked like she walked off a runway. I was stunned. One after another boom, boom, boom just gorgeous. Whoever owns that ShopRite? Yeah, they give a damn. And it shows.
