Whenever I have a craving for an Italian hoagie I stop here on my way back from the shore. Their Italian hoagies are awesome and when you get a half of one it's the same size as anybody else's regular hoagie but it's just stuffed with good cold cuts freshly sliced. Today I broke down and got one of their blueberry cannolis. I'm so glad I did. It's filled to order and it was just outstanding. I also got a blueberry doughnut. Did I mention I like blueberries? Hoagies filled with fresh diets and Watson cold cuts or tasty chicken cutlets in the rolls they bake daily. The stuffed long hots are really dry. I often feel the same way about the stromboli - rather dry. My biggest issue with here is the service. Don't get me wrong the girls behind the counter are good at what they do and know how to take an order. The problem is that they OFTEN mix up orders. They'll take your first name and then before you know it, on a busy day, there's 2 pick ups for Mike. Well Mike one got charged for mike two. It's just chaos. ALWAYS GIVE A LAST INITAL OR NAME!!! It'll save everyone some headaches. This issue has happened to me on two occasions now, and a friend was already familiar when I complained about it. Delish!!!!! Ordered two hoagies in the AM on our way down the shore and let me tell you, we were far from disappointed! The sandwiches were HUGE. Like wow, I could probably make three sandwiches just from the meat put on mine alone. Just the right amount of mayo, oil + vinegar, too. And the side of sweet peppers?! Finally, finally I made it back to try the bear claw. On our way to Philly. Did not eat breakfast so we could eat some of the food. "Our pizza is square because we don't cut corners." Funny quote to have on their boxes, because they definitely cut a few when it comes to preparation and standards. We bought a sausage pizza, a tomato pie, and a third one that intriguingly had pulled pork on it - Interesting idea that made me fall in love at first sight, and it would've been absolutely fantastic if made better. The pizzas were dry, had no sauce or noticeable oil, and had a texture similar to day-old microwaved Domino's. I had to get creative and make pizza sandwiches, topping the pulled pork one with a tomato pie slice in order to give it some moisture. Aside from that disaster, the desserts looked beautiful, and were much better quality in comparison. A large glass case was full of so many different options, the cakes definitely catching my eye and pulling at my sweet tooth. Just a tad bit pricey, but worth it - I'll probably go back in the future only for the treats that they provide. Staff was incredibly friendly and bubbly, being very social with customers, and making sure that most people left with a small smile on their faces. So I have been on a pepperoni bread kick lately and when possible cheesesteak as well. Stopped on the way to the shore. Only 3/4 mile off of AC expressway exit 28. So pretty darn convenient. Got a early start to the shore so I was good. As soon as you walk in you immediately see a row of large Sicilian type pizzas of different varieties. I opted for a pepperoni bread and one filled with cheesesteak. On impulse I added a slice of the plain cheese pizza which I'm glad I did. It was the winner of the day. Dough was on the thicker side but light and airy. The sauce was delicious with just the right amount of cheese. Both the pepperoni and cheesesteak breads were good but for me there was too much cheese on each of them(never thought I would ever say that). The dough was very good too and I would guess their breads and rolls are good based on what I had. Would go back for the pizza and to try other things. OMG! I've heard of this place for years but, never really had a reason to drive to Hammonton to try it! Finally, after hearing someone, who's opinion I respect, go on and on about it I decided to give it a try! 1st off they bake their own bread and roast their own meats for their sandwiches, 2nd they fry their chicken cutlets to order, 3rd their pizza was amazing, 4th they have sticky buns and other sweet baked goods, 5th they're really friendly! Alright, so the sandwich menu is pretty extensive. You got your basics (ham & cheese, tuna, etc.) all with cool names as well as the more traditional Italian jersey/philly favorites (roast pork, chicken cutlet, etc.) also with cool names like uncle or aunt so and so! Once I heard the guy at the counter say they roast their own roast beef and turkey I asked if they had a sandwich with both. Naturally they did and, I ordered it! HOLY F###!!! The size was great, the meats were amazing and fresh and the bread? OMG the bread! I love Rando and Fermica as everyone should but, this roll is just as perfect. I don't want to necessarily say it's better because it's different but, if I had a choice I'd have to think long and hard and I probably go back and forth every other time! Let's just say this I grabbed a loaf to go! Anyway, we also got a chicken cutlet with rabe and sharp prov. They fry the chicken up for each order which surprised me as most places don't. The sandwich was amazing! Absolutely amazing! The rabe was cooked perfectly and seasoned with garlic and just enough hot pepper flakes to give a slight hint of heat. Oh I also grabbed a slice of pizza for under $2 while I was waiting and, it was great as well! The only downside is that they don't have seating but, if you know anything about the great sandwich spots they either have very limited seating or none at all! But, about a mile down the road is a park by a lake with picnic tables all around which is way better than eating anywhere inside! I will 100% be back to this place. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner because I'll be in Texas for the next few months! read more

Great bread, pizza, and sandwiches. The biscotti were the worst cookies I have ever purchased from a bakery. They were like eating chalk. They must have forgotten to put in the leavening agent which should have been obvious when they sliced them before second bake. No pockets of air and totally flat. If a went back and threw the cookies at the front window, because they were horrible, they would go through like stones. This is one of about a half-dozen branches of a South Philadelphia Italian bakery, and the only bakery in Atlantic County that I know of that carries the traditional St. Joseph's Day Italian pastry known as Zeppole di San Giuseppe. They are a fritter type pastry. The traditional filling is a custard, but they also come with a sweet ricotta filling similar to what is found in a cannoli, as well as a creamy chocolate filling. This place is more than a bakery. We have to stop in everytime we are in the Hamonton area. My fiance and I love driving around and hiking thru Batsto and Wharton State Forest. We stop here on our way to grab the perfect sandwich for a picnic. Go to their website and click on "specials". It will list all the varieties of sandwiches Casia's has to offer. There is always some kind of bread stuffed with sausage, cheese, brocolli rabe, or peperoni displayed in the front case. They usually have a nice variety of pizzas or tomato pie along with every Italian dessert you can imagine. They have it all in one little shop! I have been going to Cacia's in south philly since I was about 3 yrs old. I remember my dad bringing home those bags of warm rolls so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside so good you could just eat the roll plain and be happy !! Needless to say they have changed their dough recipe!! It went from being the best to being just good. I don't like the sweet baked goods at all the red pizza is ok. I know a lot of people like their bread but I'm used to what it used to be that's what I'm comparing it to. All in all it's definitely worth going to especially if you live nearby. If you need a large quantity of rolls it's a good idea to call them and place an order they do sell out on certain days. read more
