My friends usually love Primo, and we order every month or so. Usually the same things, Italian hoagies and buffalo chicken cutlets. I had a cousin over for the holidays though, and he'd never had a Primo hoagie before. Lives under a rock, I thought... right? But I might join him under that rock, because oh my GOD... We almost got food poisoning. I didn't initially care when I saw that they forgot the lettuce on turkey LTO -- That was okay (sort of; I managed that situation fine). I added spinach from my fridge instead, and made do with what I had. His hoagie was also made messily, and he admitted that it wasn't that great in flavor. He still ate it, and then we finally eyed some puddings we'd gotten to share. My cousin took the first bites, but he looked disappointed with that as well. I got curious and took it to try, too, and... it was going sour... The entire container was slowly bubbling; I threw it in the outside trash before I could even check the date, but it made enough of a statement on the amount of care and concern given here. We threw out all of the sides without a second thought. Nobody got sick, thankfully, but I feel bad that this was the first impression received... We later made our own small sandwiches and some homemade desserts to make up for it all. The place will still probably receive some business from my friends for Italian hoagies, but none from me personally. read more

It's a shame the service here is so poor. The hoagies themselves are good -- but honestly, you'll get the exact same hoagie at any Primo's location. It's worth driving the extra 20 minutes to Sicklerville or Voorhees to get the same food with much better customer service. The owner and his wife are both extremely unpleasant. When they mess up your order, instead of simply correcting it, they question you -- the paying customer -- as if you're at fault. We had an issue over a $1 coleslaw that turned into a full argument about whether or not we received it. I even drove 5 minutes back to the store just to straighten it out. On top of that, they started nitpicking over oil and vinegar, telling us each hoagie includes one but any extra is an additional $0.50 -- despite the fact that we ordered three sandwiches and only received one of each. The math doesn't add up. We spent $60 for three sandwiches that weren't even made correctly, and still had to argue just to get a simple side we had paid for. read more

Horrible service. They seem to be inconvenienced by customers coming into their store. I usually love Primo's but this one is not it.

Moved to the area 7 weeks ago. Been here a few times. The food is good, my husband likes the turkey, ham and American cheese. I am a vegan, zero options for me other than lettuce, tomato, onion and peppers. People are friendly, very clean, busy place. I'd gladly give 5 stars is the would offer vegan options. We have had hoagies here before and they were great not sure what happened. Don't mind spending money on something that is worth it. There was barely any meat on all three sandwiches. Could have taken the meat from all 3 hoagies and put it on one to make a normal primo hoagie. What a disappointment! We basically just spent $55 on 3 rolls and a bag of chips. I'm a frequent flyer at primos in Hammonton NJ and usually very satisfied with their sandwiches. I always get a chicken cutlet sandwich. Today I ordered a chicken suprimo as I have before. When I got home I was very disappointed to find they changed their chicken. It was clearly some type of premade oven baked chicken no where close to the normal chicken that is on the sandwiches. only giving three stars because of food.Young man at counter was miserable could tell he didn't want to be there after giving him my order twice and not like it was complicated primo size bologna and cheese LTO mayo and small the same.He custom both which is a dollar more and I didn't have any thing custom on order.Crazy right but it gets better he never asked eat in or take out he gave me my two bucks back and pretty much threw my bag in front of me.and before anyone judges Ive been in service industry my entire career the front on house people set the standard for your business.Please coach this young man,make him better because right now with the service I just received I won't be go back anytime soon.And yes I still tipped him .Hope this helps read more

A bit over priced. Very very clean. Good food. Sell sugar soda drinks as well as high fructose sodas. The cold illys coffee bottles is a nice touch. Friendly. And... They deliver. Yeah! My wife and I ordered cheesesteaks online. We had a $10 loyalty reward that expires this Thursday and wanted to use it but would show up at check out on the app. So we called the store and was told to go ahead and place the order and they would take it off when we got there to pick up our order. Arrived to pickup our order and was told they were almost ready. After waiting about 20 minutes after the time they were supposed to be ready, they were finally brought out. Asked about taking the $10 off and the girl said since the order was already paid for she couldn't take it off and we could use it next time. I ask if it would still expire 10/17, she said yes it would. So finally I left. When we went to eat our cheesesteaks they were both cold , not even a little warm. I have never had a problem before, but this was the worst experience I ever had. We are the cheesesteaks anyway because by then we were starving. Don't know if I will ever order from there again or at least a cheesesteak. There are plenty of other places in town to get one that's ready when they say it will be and hot when I get it home to eat it. read more

My friends and I were coming from Atlantic City and decided we wanted a hoagie. We yelped hoagies and Primo Hoagies came up. We weren't sure if we wanted to go because it didn't have a lot of reviews but we took a chance. Wow!! We are glad we did! Primo Hoagies (John Johns Hoagies of Hammonton) gets 5 stars! John was pleasant from the time we walked in the door. He had a sense of humor. He listened to what we liked and made suggestions that were a match. We ordered the Mild Turkey Diablo, the Italian, the Audie (turkey and roast beef), the Old World Style Meatballs and Turkey Breast & Cheese, chips, macaroni salad and potato salad. Every bite was delicious!! The place was clean and the bathrooms were clean. Oh I spoke to his brother before he left and he was nice as well. It must run in the family. I'm originally from LA but moved to Hammonton years ago and love it here! And I have frequented just about ALL the sub shops here. Now as for Primo's, I gave two stars rather than three (because honestly, the sandwiches have declined in quality since their opening, but are still "ok") because the management of this store would choose to create bad will and lose a customer rather than honor a $1 coupon. Yes, you read that right, and no, it's not a typo. A ONE DOLLAR coupon was refused even though it was obvious I was disappointed. And this was not a poorly trained clerk who didn't understand the importance of customer satisfaction. This was the owner/manager! I went in to pick up my order (three very expensive for what I was getting sandwiches) and presented two coupons. One for two dollars and one for one dollar, one for one type of sandwich that I bought and the other coupon for one of the others. My order was about $40 total, and the manager said "only one coupon per customer", and handed me back the $1 coupon. We're talking a TOTAL of $3.00 savings on $40 worth of a lot of bread, to be blunt. (The meats on the sandwich are just not as much as it used to be. What's there tastes good, to be fair, but there's not enough of it. Certainly not as much as there used to be.) Anyway, bottom line is, he chose not to honor the coupon. a ONE DOLLAR COUPON. NOT a "free sandwich" coupon. NOT a "buy one, get one free coupon". NOT a "give me your first-born child" coupon. A ONE DOLLAR COUPON! You're kidding me, right?? So now, I will goto one of the many, many, MANY other places in Hammonton that offer similar sandwiches and forget about Primo's. And tell this story to everyone I know while I am at it and warn them not to present a $1.00 coupon if they have any other coupon for another sandwich. I guess I could have made two orders out of it and he would have had to take the $1 coupon, but should I have to to do that to use a coupon that achieved its purpose by getting me into the store in the first place? Should I have to play games and/or beg a place to honor a $1 coupon? Nah......next stop, Brothers, or Ninos, or any of the other dozen sub shops within a five mile radius of Primos. They all make good sandwiches, and I have never had to beg them to earn my business by doing the right thing. They just DO. read more
