Short pour!
Joe S.

We give great reviews when warranted, as we have at this place before. We will also post when things do not live up to expextations. A Sunday, 98 degrees out and the 1st thing we notice is that it is sweltering inside. No big deal. The martini, $15, missing the top 3rd of the pour. We watched as the server told the bartender to stop pouring so he wouldnt spill it walking over. Reasonable perhaps? No! Because we watched as the bartender poured himself the rest of our drink and seemed to enjoy it right at the bar. Now the food. A wedge, fair for $16.95. But addeded a piece of tuna and now we have a lame $32 bowl of iceberg. Chicken parm and penne. Chicken was over an inch thick, not your typical chicken parm. But it was the sauce that ruined the dish. Since when is sauce so thick that it holds up the penne from touching the dish, almost like it was tomato pudding. Dont know what happened to this place, but it gout our last dollar!

Great spot...cool vibes...not sure if it's a small Italian restaurant or dive bar...but it is good! This tiny spot is big on flavor! Huge menu with sandwiches and appetizers and Italian and seafood and steaks...they have it all. The onion soup was good, the bang bang shrimp appetizer was BANGIN'! The seafood tortellini was great as was the chicken pasta a la vodka. Entrees come with bread and salad! All the apps and meals were great portions for the prices! Nice selection of cocktails as well. They have inside bar/kitchen area seating, a small dining room, outside seating and "the beach" area out front where they have live music. Plenty of helpful staff to make sure you're taken care of.

Americana Dining area

This place is great! Service, Americana Ambience and Food is Amazing. My wife and I started out with Ice teas and a margarita. For an appetizer we both had Jumbo lump crab cocktail (Fantastic). They brought out house salads and Bread with peppers. My wife had Chicken parm over capellini (very good gravy) and I had Seafood Tortellini (Crab, Shrimp and Asparagus). The portions were generous and the taste was amazing. For dessert, my wife had cinnamon roll churros with Vanilla ice cream and I had a Spumoni Bomba. We really love this place and can't wait to come back. The only thing that could be an issue is that the restaurant is small. We went on a Thursday around 4pm and were able to get a seat however I can see weekend nights may be an issue. Also shut out to Brody, our server! Made the experience 5 star.

Three of these shrimp was $12!!!!!

the food is very good but the cost is insane. I couldn't enjoy my food because I felt robbed. my husband got gnocchi and chicken in vodka sauce it's $30 but if you want gnocchi you actually have to pay $40. then it says to add shrimp i will be $3. I got fried tomato's blt for around $19 fried were gross couldn't eat them but sandwich was yummy. Our bill was $75 for two things I called and they told me they upcharge ten dollars for gnocchi's $12 for three "jumbo shrimp" ! then I asked for the $1 upgrade it says on menu for a Cesar salad instead of the house that came with it. They charged $7 for a side salad, it was suppose to come with the meal. When I called to complain whoever I spoke to didnt really care. I will say the food was very very good but the price was so ridiculous I couldn't enjoy it.

Chicken piccatta

Wonderful hidden gem on Rte 73. Everything from the drinks to the appetizer to the entrees were amazing. The staff is also great. Hurry this place is a must visit!

I had read about Briglia's Tavern on the South Jersey Food Scene FB page several times and was always curious. I looked it up and realized we pass it often coming back from Brigantine. So on our last trip to Brigantine we decided to give it try. Briglia's is tucked in a strip mall off of Route 30 (White Horse Pike) on the East side of Berlin. It is not much to look at from the outside. There are some tables and also a tent for larger events. Customers enter through the bar area. We were greeted by our super pleasant server who directed us to a really nice and cozy dining room in the back. It was nice surprise. As others have written, the menu is pretty large. There are a lot of choices and different styles of food. The majority is homemade Italian. We tried a special, the stuffed Zucchini flowers with Lobster and Ricotta. This dish was a little pricey but amazing. We also had the whiskey glazed Gruper which was also very good and the potatoes were outstanding. We had carrot cake for dessert. Briglia's has some local beers on draft and nice selection of cocktails. Our server was great and all of the staff was very friendly. We will definitely stop by next time on our way back from Brigantine.

Was SO delightfully surprised going to Brigalias Tavern tonight for dinner We started with mussels fra diavolo which was served with garlic bread on top. Perfectly not too spicy and perfectly garlicky (is that a word?) It came beforehand with bread and some amazing peppers in a tomato base and salads. The balsamic house is perfect sweet and acidity. I got the white chicken parm and let me tell you, the chicken was crispy and cooked perfectly- nice and brown. Topped with provolone and ricotta and mozzarella. The side of capellini was in a garlic olive oil sauce and was AMAZING! My girlfriend got the sachetti purse pasta with shrimp. The blush sauce was so good. It comes in second to Toscana for me, but she said she liked it better. Either way, it was so good! We finished with a bread pudding and I almost got the manninos cannoli but I didn't have room in my stomach. The drink I got was a seasonal cranberry sangria and it was so good and spiced perfectly for the season! The service was 10/10 and our server was so friendly and made amazing recommendations. She was so attentive and nice! The atmosphere is no frills, cozy, and very welcoming. I'll 10/10 be back!

This hole in the wall off of Route 73 is too easy to miss from the outside, as most people just whiz by. Next time make a pit stop because this place is such a hidden gem! Who knew all the times I'd driven by and never even saw it. I'm utterly blown away by how good this place is - food, service, and ambiance. We came with a large group of 12 and they had no issues accommodating. Food was cooked perfect and plated nicely, service was super attentive and friendly, the dining room is cozy but not claustrophobic. Bathroom is clean! Come hungry!!

I try to support the small businesses in my area when I can. Some of the staff have been there for years. They are great people who are knowledgeable, approachable and always helpful. Unfortunately, the store has has now changed significantly. It is under new management, and the new owners have taken a well run, historically competitively priced store and turned it upside down. Pricing is no longer competitive. Common bottles (non-allocated) are now $5 to $10 higher per bottle than others in the area. some pricing is much worse. I just bought a bottle of Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel bourbon for $40 at TW. This is a limited edition, I believe. Same bottle at this Canals is listed on their website at $89.99. If you are looking for something allocated, you will now be looking at pricing comparable to secondary markets. This is not the way to treat your customers. Especially those that have supported the store for years. It's a shame. I will now drive an extra 15-20 minutes to a small, long-time family owned retailer (Benash) in Cherry Hill to buy my liquor and support their store. They are strictly MSRP. No attempts at price gouging. And customers are offered an opportunity to buy allocated bottles AT MSRP at the end of each month via a lottery style drawing. This is how you support the customers who support you. What I don't buy there, I'll buy at Total Wines. I know many others who are making the move away from this Canals. Again, it's a shame. For reference, I spend a significant amount of money on liquor per year (over $3K last year) testing, tasting and referring bottles to family, friends and coworkers. Kind of a hobby. At this point, unless I need something in a hurry, I'll be shopping elsewhere. Oh well. We had a good run.

BERLIN: Berlin Brewing Company is a craft brewery with a cozy tasting room known for great beer,…read morefun events, and being wonderfully dog friendly! Leashed and friendly dogs are welcome inside the tap room and outside on the patio, making it a perfect hangout spot for both humans and pups. We absolutely loved the vibe here with its natural wood accents, lush greenery, and thoughtfully designed seating areas that make you want to settle in and stay awhile. Rarely do we enjoy everything we try at a brewery, but this place pulled it off flawlessly. The Boro 30 coffee stout was smooth, balanced, and easy to drink, the Moonwalker cream ale was bright and citrusy, and the Sweet PaTaTa's pale ale brought rich malt flavor with every sip. Even their non-alcoholic root beer was incredibly refreshing! There are plenty more options on tap too, so every kind of beer lover can find something to enjoy. We also had the best time chatting with beertender Tiffany, who was incredibly friendly and happened to be celebrating her birthday while we visited! Bring your own food, catch one of their lively events, and kick back at this awesome local brewery.

Decent sized parking lot, and a nice little tasting room inside. Nice decor and variety of seating, including authentic German beer garden tables and benches. It was pretty dead when we visited, just six people at the bar who all appeared to be locals. The bartender was quick with service but didn't engage with us further. $7 pints and $9 flights of four 4 oz beers. There were 9 beers on tap and one seltzer when we were there. We each had a flight so we got to sample most of what was on the menu. Unfortunately we didn't really like most of what we had. The Mexicali Brews (a mojito Pilsner) was definitely interesting in that I've never seen a beer like it before. It was the best of my flight. The Galway Girl (Irish red ale) seemed too watered down, the Stalk n' Hops (cream ale) was just ok, and the Gravity Storm (DIPA at 9.45%) was, I hate to say, atrocious. The Double IPA is by far my favorite style of beer, and this was too watery and had a bitter aftertaste without any of the smooth, nuanced hop flavor I've come to expect from other DIPA's. Most breweries will offer a brief description of their beers, including intended flavor profiles, hops used, etc, but there was none of that here so it was hard to tell what they were going for and what went wrong. If you're local, I'm sure this is a nice place to hang out with some friends and beers. They do a lot of fun events including food trucks and live music. But this is definitely not a place to go out of your way to visit, as you can find much better beer elsewhere.

We decided to make a special trip to stop in after dinner that night ... especially as we were running low on our beer supply. While DH was checking out their craft beers notably from Other Half Brewing ... yes, it's a decent selection but priced a bit higher than others at $22.99 (4 pack) ... I decided to find the "raffle box at the front registers" to submit my entry for a shot at the cooler bag. Hmm ... it didn't seem to be there. Looked around the store some more ... still no luck. Found a nice employee to help and she couldn't find it either even after looking in the back too. She said it's usually up front right next to the checkout registers (as advertised in the email) ... but it's not there and all managers have gone for the (Saturday) night. Ended up having DH put his beer back and gave our rolling basket to another young man (who thanked us as he was struggling with holding his 4 six-packs) and off we went to our usual place Clayton Liquors for their crowler/growler fills in addition to the best service and best beer selection around. Wow ... they really got me to come into the store for a "non-existent" raffle?!? We used to come to Buy Rite often (even before they changed their name a few times - as it's the closest place to our house) ... but stopped a while back as one of their old cashiers is pretty rude. We do try to support local businesses and this place does have everything you need ... but now it has 2 strikes in our book. We'll have to see if we go back ... maybe for another good raffle ... huh!

I did not see any sign about dogs at the entrance, and while shopping two employees offered to help us--neither mentioned any issue about pets. I politely apologized and immediately headed toward the front of the store with my dog while my partner stayed behind to pay. Instead of leaving it at that, Sadie followed me and raised her voice, telling me I "should have seen the HUGE sign." The sign was not huge--it was a standard piece of paper and very easy to miss. We have shopped here many times before with our dog and have never been told otherwise, so the hostility was unnecessary. As I continued to leave, Sadie muttered "asshole" under her breath and continued making rude comments even as my partner was checking out. Completely unprofessional and uncalled for. For the record, she also never asked whether my dog was a service animal, which businesses are legally required to do before making assumptions. Instead, she incorrectly claimed it couldn't be a service dog because it didn't have a vest--which is not a legal requirement. To make things worse, Sadie wasn't even wearing a name tag or any form of identification as an employee. If this is how management behaves, I can only imagine how other customers are treated when there isn't a crowd to witness it. We used to shop here often, but after today we will not be returning. Completely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and basic customer respect.
