What a hidden gem! Definitely a strip mall/bar vibe but the food is very upscale. We started with the filet bruschetta which consists of a good size filet medallion over crusty bread with delicious spinach. They started us with a nice plate of breads with butter and tomato topping which was warm and fresh. My son had the ravioli trio which he loved and I had the pork chop fra diavolo. You could cut that pork chop with a fork it was so tender. The sauce was more like a vodka sauce or creamy marinara but was not fra diavolo sauce. But it was still delicious. It took us 40 minutes to get there and definitely worth the trip. We will be returning soon. read more

Stopped by for a light meal of soup and appetizers. It was my friend's first visit and she was impressed. We had a friendly waiter who checked on us frequently. Our bread arrived quickly with warmed Italian loaf and tomato bread. Soups were delicious. I had a cup of crab chowder. Full of meat, creamy and filling. Loved it. My appetizer of mussels in fra diavolo sauce arrived. Very big portion, enough to share or actually serve as a main meal. The watermelon, prosciutto and burrata appetizer got rave reviews. We give great reviews when warranted, as we have at this place before. We will also post when things do not live up to expextations. A Sunday, 98 degrees out and the 1st thing we notice is that it is sweltering inside. No big deal. The martini, $15, missing the top 3rd of the pour. We watched as the server told the bartender to stop pouring so he wouldnt spill it walking over. Reasonable perhaps? No! Because we watched as the bartender poured himself the rest of our drink and seemed to enjoy it right at the bar. Now the food. A wedge, fair for $16.95. But addeded a piece of tuna and now we have a lame $32 bowl of iceberg. Chicken parm and penne. Chicken was over an inch thick, not your typical chicken parm. But it was the sauce that ruined the dish. Since when is sauce so thick that it holds up the penne from touching the dish, almost like it was tomato pudding. Dont know what happened to this place, but it gout our last dollar! read more

We ordered takeout for our latest meal. I got the Whiskey Glazed Catch of the day (Salmon) and my wife got the crab cakes. The salmon was very tasty and the glaze was flavorful. The mashed potato and vegetable sides were very good but nothing special. My wife enjoyed her meal and I tasted the crab cake. It was good, but not great. I've had much better elsewhere especially for the price they were charging. They gave us two types of bread. I wasn't thrilled with the thick bread and the other was good. The salads looked good, but haven't tried them yet. A few of my friends love this place, but I haven't figured out why. Menu is too large for freshness and the prices are very high for the portions. read more

Great spot...cool vibes...not sure if it's a small Italian restaurant or dive bar...but it is good! This tiny spot is big on flavor! Huge menu with sandwiches and appetizers and Italian and seafood and steaks...they have it all. The onion soup was good, the bang bang shrimp appetizer was BANGIN'! The seafood tortellini was great as was the chicken pasta a la vodka. Entrees come with bread and salad! All the apps and meals were great portions for the prices! Nice selection of cocktails as well. They have inside bar/kitchen area seating, a small dining room, outside seating and "the beach" area out front where they have live music. Like many, I've passed by this place a million times. Finally had the chance to bring the Irishman in since he was craving a big old hunk of meat. Our server was VERY chatty, a little too chatty for me, but others at our table enjoyed his banter. I must say he was very kind with being very generous with bringing us more bread and accommodating my elderly mother. Enjoyed the cup of French onion soup. The most expensive chicken pot pie I've ever had at $29. Size was not huge, but it was tasty, and I was getting full from all the bread and the salad. A nice meal. read more

This place is great! Service, Americana Ambience and Food is Amazing. My wife and I started out with Ice teas and a margarita. For an appetizer we both had Jumbo lump crab cocktail (Fantastic). They brought out house salads and Bread with peppers. My wife had Chicken parm over capellini (very good gravy) and I had Seafood Tortellini (Crab, Shrimp and Asparagus). The portions were generous and the taste was amazing. For dessert, my wife had cinnamon roll churros with Vanilla ice cream and I had a Spumoni Bomba. We really love this place and can't wait to come back. The only thing that could be an issue is that the restaurant is small. We went on a Thursday around 4pm and were able to get a seat however I can see weekend nights may be an issue. Also shut out to Brody, our server! Made the experience 5 star. read more

the food is very good but the cost is insane. I couldn't enjoy my food because I felt robbed. my husband got gnocchi and chicken in vodka sauce it's $30 but if you want gnocchi you actually have to pay $40. then it says to add shrimp i will be $3. I got fried tomato's blt for around $19 fried were gross couldn't eat them but sandwich was yummy. Our bill was $75 for two things I called and they told me they upcharge ten dollars for gnocchi's $12 for three "jumbo shrimp" ! then I asked for the $1 upgrade it says on menu for a Cesar salad instead of the house that came with it. They charged $7 for a side salad, it was suppose to come with the meal. When I called to complain whoever I spoke to didnt really care. I will say the food was very very good but the price was so ridiculous I couldn't enjoy it. read more

Today we dined at Briglia's. I absolutely used to love this place in the past. Unfortunately, today was not the experience I had hoped for. I ordered one of the specials - Rigatoni Calabrese (42.95) as it sounded absolutely delicious! I received a bowl FULL of a ridiculous amount of sauce (and I'm a sauce girly!) with a total of maybe 15 noodles (I'm being extremely generous when I say 15 and not being over dramatic) with piece's of filet mignon swimming in hot boiling sauce. I IMMEDIATELY removed the meat at put it on the rim of the bowl so it would stop cooking. The steak was absolutely dead and tougher than leather. I love sherry, but something was off with that sauce because it tasted sour. Easily top two of the worst meals I've ever had. Not good. My one daughter ordered the stuffed catch of the day which while she said it was tasty, had to pretty much rip into it with her hands to remove the skin from the salmon that was served skin side down in sauce and risotto so it was rubbery and gross. Huge technical issue but otherwise my husband and daughters enjoyed their meals. A young lady who wasn't our server came out to take our plates and did ask how everything was, and I told her but she just walked away not really acknowledging what I had said. For a 182.00 night plus tip I'm sad to say as a local I'm very disappointed in what used to be one of our favorite local places. My previous review has disappeared.. but was a solid 5. I had read about Briglia's Tavern on the South Jersey Food Scene FB page several times and was always curious. I looked it up and realized we pass it often coming back from Brigantine. So on our last trip to Brigantine we decided to give it try. Briglia's is tucked in a strip mall off of Route 30 (White Horse Pike) on the East side of Berlin. It is not much to look at from the outside. There are some tables and also a tent for larger events. Customers enter through the bar area. We were greeted by our super pleasant server who directed us to a really nice and cozy dining room in the back. It was nice surprise. As others have written, the menu is pretty large. There are a lot of choices and different styles of food. The majority is homemade Italian. We tried a special, the stuffed Zucchini flowers with Lobster and Ricotta. This dish was a little pricey but amazing. We also had the whiskey glazed Gruper which was also very good and the potatoes were outstanding. We had carrot cake for dessert. Briglia's has some local beers on draft and nice selection of cocktails. Our server was great and all of the staff was very friendly. We will definitely stop by next time on our way back from Brigantine. read more

Was SO delightfully surprised going to Brigalias Tavern tonight for dinner We started with mussels fra diavolo which was served with garlic bread on top. Perfectly not too spicy and perfectly garlicky (is that a word?) It came beforehand with bread and some amazing peppers in a tomato base and salads. The balsamic house is perfect sweet and acidity. I got the white chicken parm and let me tell you, the chicken was crispy and cooked perfectly- nice and brown. Topped with provolone and ricotta and mozzarella. The side of capellini was in a garlic olive oil sauce and was AMAZING! My girlfriend got the sachetti purse pasta with shrimp. The blush sauce was so good. It comes in second to Toscana for me, but she said she liked it better. Either way, it was so good! We finished with a bread pudding and I almost got the manninos cannoli but I didn't have room in my stomach. The drink I got was a seasonal cranberry sangria and it was so good and spiced perfectly for the season! The service was 10/10 and our server was so friendly and made amazing recommendations. This hole in the wall off of Route 73 is too easy to miss from the outside, as most people just whiz by. Next time make a pit stop because this place is such a hidden gem! Who knew all the times I'd driven by and never even saw it. I'm utterly blown away by how good this place is - food, service, and ambiance. We came with a large group of 12 and they had no issues accommodating. Wow!! My husband and I had to stop at HITCH RV and this place was right down the road. We ordered a bowl of crab bisque to share (sorry no pic, we ate it too fast!), appetizer of 6 Buffalo wing pieces and the calamari fritti. A small salad had an up charge to change from iceberg to romaine lettuce. Everything tasted fantastic, the prices are on point, and the service was perfect. This place looked like a HITW from outside but inside, although small, fills up fast on a Saturday night. One less star because the calamari fritti had a lot of fried zucchini and fried pepper slices. I loved it all, but I would have liked more calamari. I have to preface this one by saying I'm sorry. I really really really wanted to love this place, and maybe because I had such high hopes that it just didn't pull through for me. I also struggle with not giving small businesses 5 stars because they work so hard, but I'm going to give my honest opinion and then you should check it out and decide for yourself! Atmosphere: Super tiny and super cute. Total hole in the wall you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking. Clean and comfy. Service: Very kind, friendly and attentive. Food: The SOTD was crab bisque (my favorite ever), and it just had some weird tangy taste that was too overwhelming. My husband had the French Onion and he said it was too sweet for his liking. Salads were meh, nothing fancy. For dinner I had a white pasta with crab, my husband had the gnocchi sausage and peppers, and my grandmother + aunt had the filet. I just didn't love mine, I wish I had gone with a chicken parm or something. It just wasn't very tasty. My husband said the same about his, it was okay, but wouldn't go for it again. However my aunt and grandmother devoured their filets with mashed potatoes and greens. I just feel like they're so many Italian joints in the area that I'll give them a chance instead of returning. But it is a small business that you can tell is busting their butt, so I recommend you give them a shot and maybe they'll impress your palate. read more

Been want to try this place for several weeks and it did not disappoint! Every thing was excellent from the old fashions to the dessert. Burr Star was as creamy as can be, cream of crab very tasty, home in veal Chop - very tasty and tender. Place is small And they don't take reservations. Well, Matt the owner waited on us. That is interesting. Thank you for explaining common sense, I understand all about the issue with staff in our current situation. We were seated quickly, that was never an issue. Food was meh, nothing special and too expensive as I said, but Matt the owner thinks it is reasonable. Thank you for explaining the plastic cup thing, I thought it was strange to have real silverware and plates and plastic cups. Also, you have no idea who I am or what I do, I understand heat and wearing a mask, you say you think you don't have to wear a mask outdoors.
