Rather generic run of the mill pizza places(but in a good way) in clayton. Felt like the kinda places I'd go after school with my lunch money lol. Slices were big and 2 plain slices and a drink came to less than $6. You can't find that much food for prices like that these days. This hit the spot and was exactly what I was hoping for. After making two calls concerning the delivery of my order, my order was delivered an hour past the given delivery time. It wasn't dropped off at the front door, and my order was cold. Have loved Nick's since I was a kid. It has always been my go to hometown pizza place. I'm sad to say that for some reason they have decided to go to an extremely cheap Mozzarella stick!!! The pizza was great here. But what I tell you was fantastic was the crumbled sausage on the meat lovers pizza. I was pleasantly surprised on that sausage It was a little bit of a shock to my taste buds cuz I definitely wasn't expecting sausage to taste like that on a pizza so I recommend if you can eat pork to get a pepperoni sausage pizza from there. Now I don't know what their meatballs taste like that comes on meat lover's Pizza cuz I had them take it off. I mean it could have surprised me like the sausage did but I didn't give it a chance to cause anywhere else I've ever let the meatballs stay on a meat lovers They weren't good so I wasn't about to let them ruin the pizza I was getting while visiting. Last straw!! I like supporting the little guy local restaurant and can even overlook the occasional mistake. But tonight was it, the last straw. I went into Nick's in Clayton and ordered my usual Crispy Fried Butterfly Shrimp with the spaghetti SIDE. (By "side" you know it should be exactly that, on the side.) I got it all the way home and when I opened the bag, instead of finding a container of shrimp and a container of spaghetti, I found that they had thrown all the shrimp in with the spaghetti, dumped spaghetti sauce on top of it all and topped it with a glob of cheese. Never ever in any restaurant when order FRIED shrimp and order the pasta side would any restaurant chef add the shrimp into the pasta. Never!! It took me 2 hrs to get thru and when I finally did and explained how the meal was given to me to the young man who answered, he claimed that's how they always do it. Mind you, I treat myself to this meal at least once a month and never has it ever been served in this way. Not once. He said I was wrong. Never apologized. Never offered a refund or anything. Just kept insisting I was wrong. I stated no wonder they're not as busy as they used to be. (You'd go in at 5pm like I did tonight and you used to have to stand in line to order and all the tables would be full. Tonight, no waiting. Just 2 tables with single occupants.) Well his response was to claim they're very busy and then hang up me! So rude!!! Well, I'm done. No more Nick's Pizza. read more

Pros: The online ordering system is a work in progress, but it's great. Their website is great. They offer good email coupons. They have a great loyalty club Cons: They often mess up the order. Sometimes the food is stone cold. Much of the food is pricey, compared to other places in the area My wife and I go here for takeout all the time, due to convenience and laziness. The delivery fees are very reasonable, and the online ordering system is very convenient. For the area, the prices are a high. Overall, the food is average or below. The pizza is edible. The cheesesteak's are edible. The wing's are frozen, non breaded with generic sauce. The last time I ordered a Cheesesteak Hoagie, they charged me for the hoagie part, but gave me a non hoagied cheesesteak with the wrong cheese. Example from 7.20.17: The club sandwiches do not even come with pickles, fries or any finesse. It's a small mediocre sandwich with damp bread in a plastic box that costed 7 dollars. We are going to try them again, and if they improve, I will change this review. I would like to see them become great. read more

I grew up using Nick's in Elmer but that was closed down a few years back so I decided to start using the one in Clayton. I really like this Nick's.. main reasons being that you can place your orders online without having to call in, plus the price and quality of the food. Pizza is pretty good.. not greasy and gross like a lot of places. Has a good crust that isn't flimsy. Sicilian pizza is also very good- crust isn't crazy thick either - something I have always appreciated with Nick's pizzas. Burgers are good, chicken parm is good, fries are delicious, onion rings, salads (which ARE huge and they also have a good raspberry vinaigrette dressing), BLTs... everything I've had from here has been up to standard for the price. Another bonus with online ordering is that you can earn points towards a $10 off a $15+ order coupon for every $100 you spend. You also get to take advantage of the online coupons and the delivery tracker. Delivery does take a while.. but I don't hold this against them. I've never waited more than 1hr 15mins for delivery and I'm two towns over. Delivery people are always courteous.. and beings I've never actually called in to place an order ... I can't complain about the rest of the staff. I'm happy with this establishment. read more

When I read one of the previous reviews, I though to myself that the salads can't be THAT big. They are gigantic! I've never ordered a small anything for a complete meal, and a small greek salad with chicken was more than enough. Tasted good, though it was still just a salad. The spicy chicken salad is nowhere near as good as the greek salad, but it is ok. The pizza was Sicilian style. I had a slice of plane cheese. It wasn't bad, kind of chewy crust and the sauce needed a bit more spice, but I have definitely had worse. read more

The Buffalo chicken stromboli is my favorite! It's cooked to perfection every time! They're wings are pretty awesome too! (Can you tell I'm a hot sauce fan?) This place is not good when it comes to take-out. Some guy or girl gets on there you tell them what you want and when you get your order home they do not give you what you asked. They do not care what you want only what they want to give you. I asked for extra celery for my wings and got none this place relies heavily on take-out so why can't they get the order right???? Another thing about this place when I order a chicken cheesesteak they do not clean the grill and bits of black specs are in your chicken cheesesteak. I ordered breaded wings and mozzarella fries I know that they like to put the cheese on top of the condiments I specifically said not to because one it makes my fries soggy having ketchup and salt and pepper under the cheese and two They did before and had to take it back and this time I get my food delivered and guess what they still did anyway when I called to let them know all they did was give me attitude and say we can come get it and send you another one like you would think they was gonna credit me because I had a problem before and by the time I would get my fries back my other food was gonna be cold so I said no thanks they hung up on me. We use to love to order from Nicks but the last few months have proven to be that of sub-par service. We order fairly often for delivery and practically the same order almost every time -- certainly enough of every order is regular especially those items always made mistakes on. Included in most orders is the megafries w/ranch dressing as it is on the menu. Today marks the 5th time we have had to call after the food had been delivered and opened to complain that the ranch dressing was missing. We find it ironic that this item -- that is on the menu -- with the megafries fails to accompany the item since it is listed as a "menu duo". We have had to drive to the store (after paying delivery fee and tip to be delivered on more than one occasion) to obtain the ranch dressing that should have been with the mega fries in the first place. One of these five times we waited over an hour for the dressing to be delivered when we were told the driver would come right back with said item. By the time we got the dressing the megafries were stone cold. Tonights order not only was missing the ranch dressing but was also missing the $9 salad which was one of only 3 items we ordered. When we called to let them know the salad was missing we were not met with apology but were told they would see when they cold get it out to us. when we called back to let them know the dressing they sent for the mega fries was blue cheese and not ranch to please send the ranch with the salad they are suppose to be bringing the missing salad. We were put on hold. Met with ignorance so much that my wife said forget it and my wife sent me to the store (after paying for delivery fee and tip yet again) to pick up the missing items. At the store I was met with an "I dont care" / indifferent attitude. There was no apology. No offer to make anything better to retain of loyalty as customers. Nothing. It is safe to say we have given more than enough chances (and money) before getting pissed. As of today we are no longer customers. read more

I ordered for the 1st time from Nicks on a boring Saturday morning at work. (I just started a job in the area) I placed a delivery order online around 10:45am. They don't open unit 11:00. It said I'd get my food at 11:45. At 11:15 the driver shows up with my food. It's cooked exactly the way I requested, piping hot, and nice portions!. Great customer service, great food! I'm a long time customer & food here since I was a kid has always been great. The food has slowly been declining as far as portion sizes when it comes to sandwiches. That I could live with. But the real reason why I gave 1 star is because there is dust all over the ceiling & has been for months. The lights on the menu have been out for months & are extremely dusty. Everytime I'm there trash is all over the floor from plates, to napkins, to chip bags, straws, you name it. Tables aren't always clean, & we constantly find hair in our food. One of the best deals around! You get huge portions of food, and if you join their point system (by applying for a free Nick's card), you get discounts after every certain dollar amount spent. The sandwiches, pizza, salad, pretty much everything there I like. You can feed a family within a totally reasonable budget, so it's totally worth it. They recently revamped the inside, so it's very clean and modern looking. If you get the salad - make sure you get the smaller size because even the small is HUGE. I am a local to Nicks in Clayton, NJ and today I actually went to the Nicks in Glassboro, NJ to pick a pizza up my sister ordered.... However, they had me waiting 45 mins for a pizza they miss placed under another phone number and then gave to me cold so i asked them to warm it up and they burned it. I paid for it and asked them to make me one thatwas not burnt and they were rude and unprofessional to me so I called Clayton Nicks. Clayton Nick's was wonderful and "J" made me a pizza hot and fresh in 15mins. They really went out of there way and helped me when the Glassboro Nicks treated so poorly. I will never go back to Glassboro. Clayton Nicks is wonderful, fast, organized, and polite.... I want to say that "J", really made my day better by going that extra mile and helping me out. Nick's makes up the plaza that is the center of Clayton, NJ (hometown pride!!). They are best known for their large, square shaped, party pizza. I personally am not much of a fan as I find it to be too doughy. Their sauce is good -people can get really picky about pizza sauce in these parts- and like all Southern NJ pizzerias their menu is expansive, including sandwiches, salads, Italian-American home-cooked meals, and appetizers. Overall it's pretty good if you just want a slice or french fries. read more

Pretty good service. I love sicilian pizza so if thats whats your into i deff suggest going here. I personally really like the hot roast beef they fill it up with nice hot roast beef and i like .that the condiments are put underneath the filling its easier to eat and it wont fall off?
