Dined here Wednesday night June 24th on the special 4 course 28.95 menu which has a nice selection for all the courses. The server starts you off with a complimentary serving of peppers and onions in olive oil with thinly sliced crusty bread. I started with the clams casino appetizer which was hot and enjoyable, nice consistency of chopped clams, bread crumbs and seasoning The salad was next with which I ordered with honey mustard dressing which the server told me was not available. When the salad arrived I noticed the server went out of her way to top it with honey mustard dressing. I enjoyed the main course of a 6oz. filet mignon, which was a large enough slice for the number of courses served. Absolutely tender and delicious and as always a perfect medium rare. The meal was ended with a delicious creamy NY style cheesecake. The patronage is a testament to the value and quality of the food, always a crowded dining room. Wednesday night features a singing entertainer Always a byob which many of the patrons enjoy, which also adds to the value of the dining experience. Came here with a group of 8 people. They go regularly and I was invited to join. They brought bread and peppers out- great start! We split a lot of appetizers. True to its reputation, the Shanghai calamari was a huge hit and went fast. Clams casino ok. Mussels good- it was all about the dunking broth. Mains came with a salad and I got the Caesar wi the out croutons. It came as requested and was really good!! I got the purse pasta which had seafood and was delicious that night and again the next day. Loved the spumoni ice cream dessert. Went to Mona Lisia in late September 2024 and had an exquisite dining experience thanks to all the things that make Mona Lisia great: food, service, and atmosphere. We have patronized this establishment MANY times over the last 5 years or so, and we always love it. If you live in the area and haven't tried Mona Lisia yet, you are really missing out on something special. The dining area is intimate but not cramped and the lighting is always perfect: a low, warm glow that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. The service is always professional and thankfully, the servers have personality and are engaging. I am grateful for Alexis for taking care of us this particular evening. She is prompt, attentive, knowledgeable, and is always pleasant and smiling. The food is amazing - it is obviously prepared fresh with the best ingredients. The portions are just right, unless you eat a lot of bread or order an appetizer, then you are definitely taking home leftovers. There is a variety of meals to order, plus they have specials too. Mona Lisia is BYOB. They take reservations, so feel free to call ahead of time. The parking lot can be a little busy, so we always park on the other end, opposite the restaurant. Never again. Eggplant parm to me,, are breaded fried eggplant discs with sauce and cheese over it and baked. Instead I got layers of gray looking eggplant that had no coating, scant ricotta cheese if you can find it, just weirdest looking stuff I've ever seen. It was so below my expectations I mentioned I didnt care for it. 27 dollars, I was asked if I wanted something else but since I ordered a side of fettuccine Alfredo which I hadn't touched yet I declined. Instead of taking the entree away and taking it off the bill, the mgr asked everyone at my table if anyone wanted to take it home. 2 people said they would out of politeness, thinking they were helping not waste it, instead I was charged for it and paid almost 30 dollars for an entree I didnt even get-to take home that I did not want because it was the grossest version of the dish I had ever seen but the option to take it off the bill was taken from me! I didnt eat the nasty salad that came with the meal because you dont get a choice of dressings, they tell you it comes with a homemade house dressing, i thought it would be an extra virgin olive oil and vinegar, but noooo, it was a sickeningly sweet orange looking stuff like that French dressing everyone knows on a bed of wilted salad greens that wasnt even the kind that crunches, it was,flaccid with a too thick piece of cucumber on it, and a little tomato. I heard the food was supposed to be so good here, and my expectations were pretty high! Not a gnocchi in site on the menu, my daughter had a special she didnt eat, some kind of chicken with peach that had a nasty favor that just didnt go together in azweird sauce, she took hers home. My side of fettuccine Alfredo wasnt tossed, it had a pre-made alfredo sauce that was ladled on top of the pasta but never coated on all the pasta! Im mad! I took that Alfredo home and when I took the container lid off it was,hard as a rock, congealed as,Alfredo leftover sometimes are but no butter in sight, and not sure it was cream, idk what it was, possibly a betchamel sauce that was made to appear like an alfredo? but it tasted like *?^&, im out 50 dollars towards the tip, 27 for the eggplant, 15 for the fake Alfredo and I feel ripped off. Ill never recommend this,place, ill never return, and I happen to know really good food but for my experience it was a waste ! The server was just ok, but didnt add anything to our dining experience! A better meal at a local diner could've been a lot better. This was a 50th birthday party,at least the server could've been more fun and personable. Sorry, not sorry. Finally went back and it was worth it. First thing you notice when you walk in is the warm greeting by the hostess. Very friendly with a welcome smile. When we reached our table the server was there to ask if we wanted our wine open. Again, very friendly throughout our dinner as was the bus boy. Before I get to the food, I have to say that for a restaurant in a strip mall the place is well designed, well decorated, and clean. Now to the food. My wife and I were with two friends and they wanted to order an app. They got the crab stuffed mushrooms and my wife and I split one. I really enjoyed it, lots of crab. Before our meal we received some bread and eggplant/pepper dip which was really good. For dinner my wife ordered the lobster ravioli's and I ordered the lobster and shrimp fra diavlo. The dinner came with a salad and the house dressing. The salad was the only low point of the meal. Slightly overdressed with a strong vinegar taste. However, our main courses were excellent. My lobster and shrimp came with a nice portion of the fish, a really good spicy sauce, and well cooked pasta. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they got also. read more

I want to share our excellent experience with Mona Lisia. When we started to plan our Mom's 70th birthday this summer, my Mom mentioned Mona Lisia as a "go to" place for them to go out to dinner. We went there in person and Debbie was amazing. She was personable, patient, and professional. Helped us through the entire party planning process, which was seamless even though we live out of state in Virginia. Able to plan the party virtually. The day of the party came today and WOW! John, our server, was outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, and so accommodating. The food was fabulous! Service was superb! Cannot say enough good things. It was ok. Very slow service. Took forever for the waitress to even acknowledge us, maybe 20 minutes or more! Had scallops as the appetizer and they were very overcooked. Ordered the lobster and shrimp with linguine, lobster was cooked well, but the shrimp were also incredibly overcooked. Flavor of everything was excellent though. Monalisia has a relationship with Blue Cork Winery, which is was drove us to stopping in as we were heading home. However, the menu is different from what they deliver to the winery. I will say that I was pleasantly pleased with the selection although it was not what I was expecting having only seen the winery's menu. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Service was great; everyone was friendly and even offering suggestions and answered any questions we had about the food in great detail. I will surely be back! read more

I live around the corner from this fine dining restaurant. Coming here for dinner is always a special treat. The food is consistently superb. They have music two nights a week. The place is almost always packed and if you show up without a reservation on the weekends, expect at least a one hour wait (if they can fit u in) Mon-Thurs they offer an incredible 4 course meal for approx $23. and it's a great value for the food quality and ambiance. The wait staff are extremely professional and hard working. The owner works hard and still comes by to say hello and express appreciation for your patronage. I can't say enough about this place. It is BYOB so come prepared if that's important to you. I was bummed to see a 1-star review because on online pricing and the resulting conflict. I do appreciate that this owner's talent is running a fine restaurant and not website development. So I would be more forgiving and understand if he's not quick to update his online menu. Posting a knee-jerk terrible review impacts so many hard working people that depend on this restaurant's success. And then labeling this owner as a thief just for not updating his website and any added feelings of being disrespected, seems over inflated and defamatory. Try being the bigger person next time, it's not a capital offense. Back to my stellar review - call ahead and make a reservation. Be prepared for a great time and a delicious meal. Surprise, surprise! Hidden gem in Williamstown. Went here last night with two other couples and we all had an amazing meal! I had the Maryland crab ravioli special and it was excellent! Wife had the filet Monalisia and the Dijon sauce and jumbo lump crab was unbelievable! Several apps were all outstanding as well. I have been here several times I live close by to this restaurant. The last time I was here dining inside was in 2017 with my late husband who has since then passed way in 2018 and I haven't dined inside since!! This restaurant Is small but cozy And It's BYOB and they have a nice menu! Their specials are pretty good!! I remember I had one of the specials and it was stuffed flounder with crab meat in a creamy White wine sauce and it was paired with roasted mixed vegetables and creamy wiped twice baked potatoes and it was delicious ! I remember my husband was loving the bread!! the salads are fresh and they have great appetizers too!! the service was excellent even the owner came out to say hello lol So I was just back in march of 2024 I picked up takeout for my daughter and she wanted penne pasta with blush cream sauce, so I ordered it for her and picked it up it was a huge portion! but it was not what we expected, she usually loves penne pasta with blush cream sauce!! so I tried it and it was just OK the sauce was on the thin side and wasn't thick like most blush cream sauces usually are! Maybe it was an off day or maybe it was cause it was take out not sure if they do a lot of take out, but it wasn't what we thought it would be!! with that being said, I would at least give it a try because I remember enjoying dining inside this cozy little cute restaurant with great food service and ambiance!! read more

Haven't had a bad meal or experience here yet! Love that it's BYOB and also loved that they had good live music on a Tuesday night. They have a 4 course offer Monday through Thursday for I believe $23 or $24 which is an insanely good deal for an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. Only took one star off because even though the restaurant was only about half full, the service was pretty slow in terms of the amount of time between courses. Also upgrading from house to Caesar salad was $3 extra - which is pretty substantial for a small salad. Still good though. The menu says no substitutions for the four course offer, but they will substitute some things at your request - just be mindful it may cost more. Very nice touch that they give you complimentary bread that comes with cooked peppers on the side. Caesar salad had a great flavor. The filets were cooked perfectly to order. The blackened, bacon wrapped shrimp I ordered was literally the best shrimp dish I've ever had in my life. Just incredibly good and I seriously can't recommend it enough. This place is still a hidden gem, and by far my favorite local Italian restaurant. Love that not only the owner (maybe manager) AND one of the chefs checked in on us to see how everything had came out. I first heard of this restaurant from my son, Anthony, a couple years ago. He knew about it before it even opened bc the owner, Alam, was a waiter at Filomenas's in Blackwood back when Ant worked there. He said that the owner of Filomenas's, Graziana, was helping Alam to get this restaurant off the ground and she allowed him to take they the recipes of their dishes. Then, After reading the positive reviews, we decided to order a little take out for for my hubby and me to see if it really matched Filomenas's. I ordered an order of stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat and the Seafood Bisque. Hubby ordered the Chicken Abruzzese which came with salad and Italian bread. Mine was absolutely delicious. Honestly, 1 stuffed mushroom filled me but I had to taste the soup which was excellent. Leftovers for me tomorrow, yay! Hubby said his dish was nice & spicy but a little small. They don't offer a soup of the day here though. The menu was not lengthy and their portions were smaller comparing again to Filomenas's in Blackwood. All in all, we enjoyed our food and the location is local but I would go to Filomenas's instead. For what I ordered & enjoyed, solid 4 stars read more
