Went to Mona Lisia in late September 2024 and had an exquisite dining experience thanks to all the things that make Mona Lisia great: food, service, and atmosphere. We have patronized this establishment MANY times over the last 5 years or so, and we always love it. If you live in the area and haven't tried Mona Lisia yet, you are really missing out on something special. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is intimate but not cramped and the lighting is always perfect: a low, warm glow that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is always professional and thankfully, the servers have personality and are engaging. I am grateful for Alexis for taking care of us this particular evening. She is prompt, attentive, knowledgeable, and is always pleasant and smiling. The food is amazing - it is obviously prepared fresh with the best ingredients. The portions are just right, unless you eat a lot of bread or order an appetizer, then you are definitely taking home leftovers. There is a variety of meals to order, plus they have specials too. Mona Lisia is BYOB. They take reservations, so feel free to call ahead of time. The parking lot can be a little busy, so we always park on the other end, opposite the restaurant. The menu selection is ample, the portions are satisfying, and the pricing is very reasonable. Go check it out!

I want to share our excellent experience with Mona Lisia. When we started to plan our Mom's 70th birthday this summer, my Mom mentioned Mona Lisia as a "go to" place for them to go out to dinner. We went there in person and Debbie was amazing. She was personable, patient, and professional. Helped us through the entire party planning process, which was seamless even though we live out of state in Virginia. Able to plan the party virtually. The day of the party came today and WOW! John, our server, was outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, and so accommodating. The food was fabulous! Service was superb! Cannot say enough good things. You must plan your next party here or just go and enjoy a dinner one night like my parents like to do.

This place is fabulous. Everything was delicious. The crab stuffed mushrooms are to die for. The lobster ravioli with crab & and shrimp was outstanding, not too much filler in the ravioli and I could actually see the lobster! Great value as well considering the portions & price.

Really good food! Tiny quiet place. Good staff, quick service. Atmosphere is ok but worth going to just for the food alone.

I love trying new restaurants and have had this place on my radar for a while…read more We decided on a whim to try them on a Saturday night in the summer. We got right in with no wait. There was live music in the main dining room consisting of one singer singing Latin music. We were each given a tablet with the menu, which was pretty awesome. It took us a long time to decide what we wanted because we were enthralled by the extensive menu with all of the photos on the tablet. I decided to order a cocktail and my husband got the horchata while my mom got an unsweetened iced tea. They have a full bar with a ton of specialty drinks. My drink arrived with flower petals adorned to the side of the glass. We also received complimentary chips with salsa and salsa verde. As an appetizer we decided to do the taquitos. I love taquitos so I was excited, and the presentation was great. However when we bit into them we noticed they were just pieces of chicken breast rolled in tortillas and fried. No seasoning. No cheese, nothing mixed in. I was surprised. The taquitos I've had in the past are made with shredded chicken and potatoes with cheese. These were lacking flavor and dry. I wanted to love them so much but I just couldn't. For our entrees, I did the chimichanga mixto which was a chicken and beef chimichanga. They were on the smaller side but plenty for one person. The filling was mixed with salsa but again felt bland. They were serviced with a side of rice. My mom got the pina loka, which was grilled shrimp, chicken, and steak with onions and peppers inside a pineapple. Hers was very good. My husband got the La Jeño mix which had chicken shrimp and steak with cheese sauce, rice, and veggies. The flavor of his was pretty good as well. We skipped dessert, but the menu was extensive with all your Mexican favorites plus items like chicken parm. They also have a full breakfast menu. The music was very loud for the small dining area if you wanted to have a conversation, but the singer was doing his thing. We made sure to tip him on our way out. The servers checked on us frequently and service overall was good, I just wish the food wowed us more because I so wanted this to be our new fave.

The business is all hand painted with authentic Mexican murals and clean. We met the manager, Angel, who was very pleasant and tentative. Our portions were large and tasty. My friend, who is Mexican and knows Mexican cuisine, enjoyed it and said it was authentic. The only thing is they have live music, where I found it difficult to converse with everyone.

I called this morning 10 days after I placed my order and they collected the $223. for the 10 crab cakes and had the pleasure of speaking with a less than stellar employee IMO. This employee was IMO rude and argumentative They stated a banner came up when I ordered saying they'd be delayed due to being closed for the holiday. I never saw any such banner I did get an email days after I ordered saying they would be closed an extra day for the holiday. That being said it would mean they had not shipped my order in 8 days Yes that was her excuse. Then when I stated I just wanted a refund she wanted me to provide information I didn't have right in front of me for her to verify the order she had just given me the order date for, so she obviously had that information right in front of her. After about 20-30 seconds of her waiting for me to look it up she decided she didn't need me to give it to her. This is not the Bobby Chez I remember. They will never get my order or recommendation again. That being said after reading the recent reviews this may have been a blessing in disguise.

Dinner menu and specials menu looked promising. The place is still dark, but it adds to the inside ambiance. Kayleigh was our server. She was attentive without being over bearing. Drinks were ordered and delivered. DH had his usual vodka tonic and I ordered my classic Old Fashioned with Makers Mark. Points off for the way it was made. Many small ice chips, a macerated piece of orange and a macerated whole maraschino cherry, complete with stem. I fished out the chips and put them on my small bread plate. Didn't discover the stem until deep into the drink. (I prefer the classic recipe using a large ice cube, a Luxardo cherry, and a slice of orange peel) Salad bar was well stocked. Hard pass on the lettuce because of the recent cyclospora scare, but we found other items. Potato salad, macaroni salad, hard boiled egg, chick peas, sliced beets, pineapple, cheese cubes, various breads Dinner was delicious. I ordered the Tips and Tails. It was steak tips, lobster tail and two fried large shrimp, a huge baked potato. DH had the stuffed salmon and asparagus also with the baked potato Lots of leftovers. We ordered the wings and Balboa pizza, and we brought a bottle of wine but were not given a chiller like some other tables. The complimentary bread was so rock-solid it was inedible. The wings, which we heard so much about on social media and specifically came for, just tasted like sweet bbq - nothing special. Very small and little meat, but it came with 10 wings to make up for it. The ranch was also very dill-forward for any pickle haters. The pizza had a nice crust but very sparse with the short rib - sesame crust was the only memorable part. Lastly, we were sat next to a server stand and heard servers/bussers shit talking specific tables outside and people waiting for tables. I worked in a restaurant for 3+ years and of course did the same, but never in earshot of diners - quite uncomfortable. I don't typically write negative reviews, but this place did not live up to the Tiktok hype. Fine pizza and may just have been our selection, but not worth returning in our opinion!
