We went back to our favorite restaurant-Monalisia in Williamstown, NJ The food is fantastic, as is the service and low prices. We would personally like to thank the waitress Melissa, who also is very friendly and great with suggestions of the specials. We just celebrated my daughter's Baptism at Monalisia restaurant and the Management and Staff were absolutely amazing! They made living in Maryland and planning the luncheon a breeze. We were able to drop off the beer and wine the night before and they had it chilled and set up upon our arrival. Banquet Luncheon was 3 courses; salad, pasta and entree. The options we chose were Chicken Monlisia; Veal Alla Milanese and the Crab cake, everyone could not stop talking about how good the food was. They also put out the most amazing roasted peppers and delicious bread. It was delicious. I received so many complements on what a wonderful party it was I am so thankful for the Staff and Management you all really made it a wonderful day! My wife and I have eaten at Monalisia's several times and have never been disappointed, which is why we keep going back. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there. Nearly everyone in our party (mostly from out of state) told us how great the food and service was, not to mention how beautiful the restaurant is. You pay a small amount for what you actually get. We had a girls dinner there on Tuesday. The food was delicious. I had the Ahi Tuna which was made to perfection. The wasabi and teriyaki sauces were delicious. The portion size was great. First time visiting this neighborhood gem. We were greeted by the hostess, who was warm and friendly. We were seated with our party who was already there. The waiter (sorry I don't remember his name) was attentive but not hovering set up our wine bucket, knew the specials and gave us extra plates for our appetizers so we could share. I had a nightly special which included appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. Everything was done properly, portions were more than enough and the plating was pleasing to the eye. The food and the service were great! You are given a warm bread basket and a plate of sauteed peppers and onions in red sauce to start. It was all delicious. I got the stuffed mushrooms which were fabulous. My husband got the long hots and he said they were among the best he's had. I got chicken parmesan for my entree. I am a chicken parmesan snob. This was some of the better chicken parmesan I've had. My husband liked his jambalaya. The tiramisu and pinapple cheesecake were to die for. Espresso was good. This was not a pleasant experience for my wife and I. The waiter came over to fill the water glasses I asked to have my wine opened he said yes and about 10 minutes later another waiter came over to open the wine, after a few long stares to catch someone's attention. The third waiter came over about 10 minutes after that and said he was our waiter but he was busy with other customers. We had reservations at 4:30 there wasn't anyone else in the place! The food was not to my liking either. I had the long hots for an app it was very bland and tasted like it was cooked yesterday and just heated up. I had the shrimp and crab scampi it was awful the scampi sauce was like a very thick soup and the pasta was way over cooked and swimming in this thick sauce, the shrimp and crab were not fresh... very fish! My wife had the stuffed mushrooms which 2 out of the 3 had a shell in it. For dinner she had the chicken milanaise it's the first time we ever saw that meal prepared without mozzarella. It's was very salty and swimming in a lemon juice of sorts. Very disappointing! We will not be back. read more

I walked in about 2pm on a Wednesday for Lunch and was waiting for someone to seat me for Lunch. I was absolutely appalled by the customer service. No one was waiting at the front desk and all I heard was everyone in the back kitchen talking very loudly. I opened the door 3 times to have the door ring to have it be heard that someone was entering the building. I was waiting about 10-15 minutes and still no one came to the front to seat me. I than called the restaurant and whoever answered the phone was not pleasant and I asked for a Manager. Whoever the Manager I spoke to never gave me a name and he was dumbfounded at what I had to say. I have never eaten here before and I will never step foot in the restaurant again.
