We were seated in the most gorgeous area outdoors. We had a sunset view and water view. The service was surprisingly fast and welcoming! I absolutely loved the food . My favorite dish was the baked porkchop. We also ordered the calamari and T-bone steak( all well made and delicious). We came for Father's Day 2026 and great seating and atmosphere. Excellent mozzarella triangles. I would call for reservations which is easier then online. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The views from the outdoor seating sets a great backdrop to a delicious meal. They have scheduled night for DJ's & trivia nights which is great for the community. Some our meal was misunderstood but the meal still turned out well and we flowed with the waiter. The bread & mixed oil they start you off with is perfect starter. The oil has an Italian vibe with no pepper flakes. Broccoli cheddar soup is a full hearty bowl and pairs nicely with the flakey bread. Stopped by on the way back from Cape May - worth the trip! Great Lake front location. We sat outdoors but there are lots of inside seating and bar areas. We had a steak salad and prime rib sandwich. Both very good. Service was also excellent. One comment - the steak salad was served in a huge deep bowl. We had to ask for another plate so you could get to all the ingredients and slice the steak. Prices were reasonable for the quality. Surely worth a visit. read more

The last time I went to Lake House was April 3, 2025. I have been there before, plenty of times. The location is stellar, the views are stunning, and the layout of the restaurant and bars are ideal. The view from the back bar is amazing. The new-ish outside patio/bar/seating area was the smartest option for that space. Really, you have to see it all to believe it. I'm a simple man, so I would venture to say the place is rather fancy, but not uptight. The menu offers some seriously gourmet dinners, but also other fare that isn't so upscale, if you will. I sometimes stop after work for a late night chicken BLT and a few beers. See? Simple. The service is excellent. I love that when I walk in, the person managing the front desk can tell me if there's room for me at the back bar. Neat! I don't make it here often, but often enough to know that I'll come back as much as possible. Yes, I recommend you give the Lake House an opportunity to WOW you! read more

I had the grilled shrimp spinach salad, and have to give them credit for good-sized portions. There was a decent amount of shrimp and bacon on the salad, but it was really pretty salty. I wanted to try the chili lime dressing, but it (sadly) wasn't very good. It turned out to be more like ranch with no heat to speak of, and no hint of lime either. On the other end of the spectrum, the cheesesteak nachos were a hit. The caramelized onions made the dish absolutely delicious. We got really good service, both from the bar and our waitress. Zero complaints there, and props to the friendly wait staff. If you dine in the evening, the amber lighting isn't great. I noticed some people having to use the light on their phone to read the menu. If you're there for a romantic dinner, it's more appropriate, with the lake view and open flame candles on the table. There's also a bar area where it appears that regulars enjoy hanging out on game nights. Local rumor has it that the place is haunted, so head out there while it's Halloween season, and you might get a little thrill into the bargain! read more

They accept reservations by phone or online. I recently went with a party of 8 so I made a reservation. We were easily accommodated. The food was delicious. Just happened upon this restaurant while visiting in NJ via Google. The atmosphere is awesome, the veggie burger and fries were delicious. My daughter ordered flatbread, parmesan risotto, and steamed broccoli. Everything was delicious, but the service was a bit slow, even though it wasn't crowded on a Tuesday night. Ordered dessert to go, when I checked the bag, it didn't look like what we were shown. When we finally flagged down our waitress, she took it back, just to bring it back to say they ran out of churro's. IT WAS A CHURRO CAKE! I said I didn't want, she stated, well I put some carmel sauce on it instead. I can't believe people sometimes. Then she disappeared again, so we took it and left. It wasn't that good. Noodles had a funky smell, the chicken was less than a 1/4" thick, burnt crust on bottom and when they put the noodles and marinara on it was very watery which water logged the burnt, skinny, rubbery chicken. On a Sunday evening we decided on a whim we wanted to go out to dinner somewhere we haven't gone in a while. We checked a few spots and no one had availability, so we decided to check Lake House. They had reservations available and without realizing they close at 8, we made 7 pm reservations. We were sat immediately and there were only 3 other tables dining inside. The outside had live music and seemed pretty busy, but we realized they were closing in an hour and decided to make our choices fast. We started with drinks, I got a dragonfruit mojito and everyone else got white sangria, and cheesesteak egg rolls. The cheesesteak egg rolls had great presentation, and were really good. They had green pepppers inside, which are not typical for cheesesteak egg rolls, but were a welcome addition. For our entrees we were kind of all over the place. I got the braised short rib and penne, which came with a side Caesar salad, and the rest of our party got the prime rib sandwich with waffle fries, and the three cheese chicken pesto spinach flatbread. I had the opportunity to try everything and I have to say I was impressed. The short ribs were great and the only thing I would change is a different type of pasta other than penne, like an orechettie, the flatbread was huge and had great flavor, the waffle fries were super crispy, and the sandwich was great dipped in the au jus. We opted to split the brownie bomb for dessert and we came to a consensus. We need to come to Lake House more often. I can't wait to go back and try the short rib sandwich or guiness sliders. read more

The Lake House is a Newfield staple. There is quite the variety of seating options. On a nice summer day, the tables outside by the lake are preferable. In the winter there are so many window tables, you can feel like you're outside on the frozen lake while still keeping all of your fingers and toes toasty warm. Our favorite spot to sit is the back bar as it always seems to be the most lovely. They often have live music playing throughout the restaurant. Of course, we love all of the dishes but our absolute favorite is the gnocchi. The serving sizes are massive so we always have leftovers to enjoy for days after the first bite. ASK FOR AN ESPRESSO MARTINI. By far the best espresso martinis i have ever had. The staff is always attentive and friendly. They all seem to be knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant which is fascinating! I couldn't be happier with my experience at the Lake House. read more
