She came over put down place mats and then said, "and, I will be with you whenever I can." Proceeded to leave and after 10 minutes we asked another waitress if she had seen our waitress who's response was "Oh, I don't know, probably waiting on the other 100 people before you." It pains me to write this review because my wife and I love to stop here for dinner on our way to the shore and it's usually great. But yesterday... It started off well. We arrived and were seated right away. And then, nothing. Nada. No drinks. Not even a glance in our direction by anyone. Lots of activity. Literally every guest in our section had been visited by wait staff, enjoying their drinks, food, smiles, conversations.....but not us. For a solid 15 minutes, no one on the wait staff said so much as "boo" to us. It was like we were invisible. We'd had enough, we just got up and left. Worst diner in NJ! I seriously question anyone leaving this place a positive review. On their BEST day, their food is average. Even worse is their staff. In our last/final bad experience there, a member of our party went back in to find her glasses after another disappointing meal and the MANAGER was making very inappropriate insults about my handicapped brother. We customize the burger, and they were quite welcoming when we were doing so the burger was humongous and what a flavor it had. It was truly a fresh juicy large burger this was no frozen hamburger. Also, the fries were amazingly hot and very crispy when they came out unlike any fries usually that I've had these fries were amazing. We also had it accompanied by a side of cheese sauce one of the best burgers I've ever had and this was one of the best times at a diner. I've experience in a long time. The Waitrose was very nice. We were a party of 10. My cousin got there first and secured a table for us. We were missing a place setting and the waitress said she would provide it when the last person got there. I mentioned to the waitress how cold it was in there. She said the air would go off soon, but it actually kept running and got colder. I saw one person pull a sweatshirt on with a hoodie. ridiculous. I ordered chicken escarole soup. I guess they forgot to put meatballs in. It wasn't even hot, just lukewarm. My husband said that the cream of mushroom was very good. He ordered the pastrami sandwich. He couldn't even eat it as the meat was so dry and tough. Our waitress, I think her name is Angela, was nice to everyone but me.
