This review is for the diner and the lounge. Diner: Rebekah and Melissa provide professional, top-notch service and Geets is lucky to have them both. They are knowledgeable about the menu/specials, extremely personable and pleasant, and quick and efficient. I look forward to seeing them and they're one of the reasons I keep coming back week after week. Geets diner hits on all the main reasons I love a diner: huge menu, copious servings, and friendly service. The place is clean, and the lighting is great. The bathrooms always look maintained. There's a huge counter section and 2 different spaces with tables and booths. There's enough room for everyone, even on busy days. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can watch TV too, if you'd like. The meal I am mostly coming in for is breakfast. The specials, which are available M-F from 7AM-11AM, are, quite frankly, the best value in town. You cannot beat Geets prices, especially considering what you get. But more importantly: the quality is A+ and the servers take care to make sure your plate is correct before they bring it to you. If you have not done so yet, check out their "customer appreciation" breakfast special. Two eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, toast, unlimited coffee, and a small juice. What would you pay for this? At Geets it is $10.65, which includes tax. Ask your server about substitutions too, because I know instead of "home fries" you can get fried potato cubes, grits, or even sliced tomatoes. It's good to have choices! There's a reason Geets has been opened as long as they have. There's a reason it's a landmark. I feel confident that if you're within 20 miles of Geets, you've heard of it and have been there. If not, you need to go there now and experience it for yourself. Lounge/Bar: for me, it's all about service. JoJo, Shayna, Lisa, Paul, and Frank - you're in good hands. They're proficient mixologists, they know the menu, and they're fast. You are getting stellar service with a smile. The atmosphere is welcoming, too. There's a huge bar with plenty of TVs and the outside patio area is now enclosed, virtually doubling the bar/lounge area. What's been done with the space is refreshing to see. Once the double doors are opened, it's like one big bar and lounge with plenty of space for everyone. Booths and high-top seating complete the layout. As with the diner, the lounge offers exceptional food and drink at great value. Happy hour is from 3:00PM-7:00PM M-F and the specials on food and drink are fantastic. It would be wise to check the website and/or Facebook because they have specials during the week that you should take advantage of, such as Thursday night pizza and Wednesday night half-priced wings. A huge plus is that the diner menu is available in the lounge too. Another reason to check online is there is often entertainment, such as trivia night and live music. Whatever you're in the mood for regardless of time of day, Geets has something for you and you'll be glad that you went. See you there! read more

Stopped into Geets Diner for a classic NJ diner experience with a friend visiting from out of town. We arrived for a late-night meal, and the experience did not disappoint. I had my go-to order: a Western Omelette with home fries and toast, plus a side of grits and coffee. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious, exactly what I expect from Geets. My friend went for the Philly cheesesteak with fries and a strawberry shake, and he was happy with his choice--the cheesesteak was solid. The service was friendly and efficient, and the retro 50s music added to the classic diner atmosphere. Good food, good vibes, and a true Jersey diner experience. I grew up on Geet's but hadn't been to this part of New Jersey in mega years, so it was a treat to revisit an old favorite a couple of times this month. I visited for lunch last week and dinner yesterday. For lunch, I ordered the cheesesteak hoagie, and it was delightful. A huge portion too - it lasted me three meals. For dinner, I ordered their ribs, and boy were they lovely (and a huuuge portion). Our server, Stephanie, said that their chef Kevin is all about barbecue meats and that a menu refresh is coming soon, which will include items like brisket and pulled pork. I'm not from Jersey, and most the restaurants have not been very impressive. And frankly I'm not impressed with the dinning room of Geets. It always felt like I was in a feed lot. Loud kids and bad service. BUT then I went in the lounge. What a nice place, adult! So much quieter. Service is great. Taco Tuesday is the best. 2 Beef Tacos for 4 bucks. And they are huge. Plus I'm a big chili snob. And hats off to the chef, the chili is the best I had in Jersey!!! You have to come see JoJo in the bar for Taco Tuesday. She will make you feel right at home. Went for kids night (kids eat free with adult entree). Two adults purchased food and my child ordered the chocolate chip pancakes with sausage that was specifically on the kids menu. Check stated free Mickey Mouse pancakes with a charge of $5 next to it. Cashier in the front asked the waiter why it's not free since it's kids night. Waiter said it's extra for chocolate chips and sausage. The menu states chocolate chips or m&m as a choice with a uniform price. Upon speaking with the manager, we were informed an "exemption" will be made this one time. I'm confused how it's an exemption when it was listed as a single meal price initially but change to al la carte when it came to them honoring kids night. I'm writing this review after attending a private event that was held at Geet's. Our group was situated on the covered patio area adjacent to the big bar in the rear of the building. The space was intimate and well shaded us from the direct sunlight with 95 degrees in tow. There was hot brunch-style food served at the buffet table setup outdoors, and I had to walk inside to get a mimosa from the full bar. In hindsight, I probably could've ordered a drink from the ladies at the buffet but I hesitated because the two of them were rather busy tending to the needs of the party of about 50 guests. Our brunch buffet options included scrambled eggs, grits, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, home fries with peppers and onions, chicken francaise, baked ziti, and an assortment of toasted bread options. I sampled everything and enjoyed it all, except my toast was not crunchy because it had absorbed the humidity in the atmosphere. Overall it was a great event. But toward the end one guest passed out from heat exhaustion and the Geets staff moved quickly to help the family in anyway they could. read more

I used to live in Williamstown 20 years and came back to visit. We had dinner last night... sorry to say the fries were cold and I ordered extra cheeses on my cheese steak- which didn't happen. My husbands pork chops were very salty. Tried again today for lunch... service was slow and the cheese slice on my ham and cheese sandwich was a processed cheese slice the tomato was old and dried out. The food tasted like that fake cheap grease. The butter doesn't even melt on ur toast because it's not butter!!!!! My 80th birthday party was given to me there and it was fabulous. It was in the back room garden room. It was wonderful. But I have been back to that diner many times for breakfast or lunch. 6/22/2021: Friendly service and from scratch food are tops in our book when visiting diners in our Home State of New Jersey (the "Diner Capital of the World"). Chef made simple but well crafted food. My classic grilled cheese actually had several slices of cheese (you'd be surprised how many places we've visited have two and the cheese barely registers!!). My husband's mushroom Swiss burger was made to order with fresh (not frozen) ground chuck, topped with a big handful of sautéed mushrooms and a generous amount of Swiss cheese. The fries were crisp but not likely hand cut; more likely they were the battered frozen kind. But we didn't care; the sandwiches shined brightly. Kay is a gem, admittedly new to the diner, but we'd never guess it. She has a great sense of humor, a friendly disposition and shows just the right amount of attention (checking in without being intrusive). So this afternoon my sister & I wanted some brunch, we always try to stay local & this was only my 2nd time here. The first time was great our service was amazing very nice & attentive, it was a young gentleman about in his 20s tall with dark hair highly recommend him if you ever go. MY ORDER- the Sylvester Breakfast meal with 2 eggs 2 pancakes 2 bacon 2 sausage & a side of strawberries... 1st issue... our food took at least 45 minutes to come out, no problem they weren't busy in my opinion. However I asked for my eggs over med ... when I cut into my egg it was raw & uncooked. I asked my server to remove the entire meal from our bill because I barely touched my food. She never sent a manager over I had to flag the manager down ... 2nd issue .. once I spoke with the manager she tried to argue with me that my eggs were over medium & there are soo many ways to cook over medium eggs .... My husband and I stopped at Geets for dinner on our way home from Atlantic City and boy are we glad we did. We ate on the restaurant side and both had delicious meals. We started with house salads which were crisp and fresh and had a nice variety of lettuces and veggies. We also had a nice assortment of rolls and different breads and butter. My husband had the meat loaf meal which looked great - it came with two sides - he chose the mashed potatoes and veggies of the day (the veggies were definitely fresh!) I had diarrhea after for the whole day, and my stomach hurt like hell. Please don't get pasta, or Mac N cheese. Way too much cheese.

This review is based on two visits on back to back days. The first was on Easter Sunday when we went out with friends. I ordered the baked stuffed Salmon and my wife ordered the seafood over linguine. The good: The baked Salmon stuffed with crab imperial was delicious. The mashed potatoes were also very good. I like having bits of potato skin in my mashed potatoes and it had that. My vegetable were fine but nothing extraordinary. My wife's meal was good also; I had some of her leftovers later in the day. The bad: The service could have been much better. My wife has a food allergy which the server seemed reluctant to address with the kitchen to find out some ingredients. As a matter of fact the server didn't address it at all and just guessed that certain things could have contained what she's allergic to. Luckily what she ordered wouldn't have any issues so she was fine. Today we were coming home from Philly and stopped in for breakfast since we did like our meals the day before. The good: My wife enjoyed her creamed chip beef. The bad: I ordered the crab Benedict which was a crab cake Benedict. The hollandaise sauce wasn't very tasty and had some flavor that I couldn't pick out which I didn't care for. Either the crab cake or the sauce had a sweetness to it that was off putting. I think the crab cake had some sweet peppers in the filler (which there was a lot of by the way) which gave it a weird taste. The service was again lack luster. My wife asked for well done home fries and they were barely that. Some crispy parts, like she likes, but mostly cooked regular. Overall we really enjoyed our dinners but the breakfast and the service both times brought down my rating. read more

Gets is the definition of New Jersey Diner food. The big GEETS sign shadowing over the black horse pike, the chrome style windows and neon lights this place is history. The hostess and staff have a warm family feel to them and they do not skimp on food. I got the Sylvester which was so good I inhaled it. Two warm fresh fluffy pancakes, two fat sausage links, bacon, home fries and two eggs. You will not leave here hungry. They have a great dessert case to and the cheesecake was amazing.
