Recently celebrated my birthday here with a group of friends and it was great!!! I found the pricing was cheaper than other axe throwing locations and they were also very flexible with us adding/removing # of people in our party. Clean and spacious. You can BYOB and food, and they have a large fridge by each lane so you can keep beverages and snacks cool. Our axe master was very helpful and attentive. Man.. throwing axes is great therapy haha! My husband and I have been wanting to go.. but in the past, other locations have either needed you to rent a lane (that is better when you have a bigger group) or have a bigger group than 2 people otherwise you could get put into a random group to share your lane. So we've held off until we can find a group.. but on this rainy Saturday, figured, let's just try this location! Walk-ins are welcome which is a huge plus! This location was able to accommodate just 2 people and for a really good price (in my opinion)! $50 for 2 of us for 1 hour! That's pretty good.. and plenty because I was tired by the end :-) COVID TIMES Normally you can bring outside drinks and food.. but because there's no indoor dining, that applies to this place too. They did allow us to bring our stuff in and use their fridge, but we had to eat and drink outside, so that was nice of them to offer. Also, gotta wear a mask inside. I do wish we were able to remove the masks once we were in our lanes... but we weren't. But they followed Covid recommendations to decrease the spread and the place was spotless! Bathrooms were clean and you were also able to open the door without even touching the handles, which is excellent! Customer Service Excellent! Jesus took care of us in the front and explained everything and demonstrated everything that came with safely throwing axes! Came to check on us throughout our session and was just overall great! Location Located in a shopping strip all the way to the left next to Reyta Filipino restaurant. Long hallway walking in. Sign your waiver as directed and pay for what you want at the front desk! Lots of open space with pool tables, arcade games.. etc. It's nice during this time because it's not crowded at all! Well, one doesn't write a review for a hatchet house very often. This place is located inside of a shopping center. The front entrance does not feel rugged, but the back definitely does. There is plywood and dimensional lumber everywhere! Each section comes with a couple stools, your own fridge, hooks for coats, and a spot to eat. (You can bring your own hoagies, drinks, etc). They thankfully don't sell pre-fabricated bowling-alley pizzas. Pool tables in there too. 18+ to play. Our 2 hours went by really fast inside this place. There is actually plenty of hatchet throwing time, with a tournament at the very end. The regulator posts real time scoring on the screen, so one can see who is doing super (or not). After I went, I thought of 10 more guys who would have loved to go, and were obviously jealous. Ps. My wife found me this gift on Groupon. Also, Our regulator, Josh, was great! read more

Where do I start, (thinking), this wasn't our first time here by far. We were going back in lieu of trying another location due to proximity. Reservations started off rough as they want 6 in the group on Saturday and we only had 4. Had to speak to the Manger for the to be okay. The manager, Jee, AMAZING! He took charge of the appointment and made sure everything went as planned for a special birthday of a young 22 year old. Con: The night and weekend manager (Kate) is not much help and does not have a lot of answers. Aloof I think another reviewer wrote. Jee made us want to invite more people not just the 4 so we wound up with a group of 7 and will return without question. Now our axe master, Joei (I hope I am spelling that right) we had before and requested again she is absolutely the BEST! I definately recommend her but hope when we come back she isn't too booked up. She interacted with us but isn't intrusive. She is observant to your throwing and gives pointers. Went here for a business outing. The place is nice and most of the staff was friendly. I wasn't really into throwing the axes, but there is pool and video games too. I didn't like that you have to check a box to allow them to contact you on the waiver. Email or phone calls should not be mandatory. read more

This place is amazing! We had a surprise 30th birthday party there for my fiancee last night. From booking the party to setting it up the managment was so friendly and helpful. The staff helped me lug in all of the stuff I brought, were organized in helping everyone and moved things along seamlessly! Once out party stared our coaches were so fun but also in control so a worrier like me felt super safe! Even with a party of 21 everyone got to spend a lot of time throwing in the arena during our 2 hours! They even let us move upstairs to the game room for cake after our time was up! I cannot say enough good things about Choppers and I am so glad they have moved into our neighborhood! I was just thrown a surprise birthday party at this place and I honestly don't think they could have picked a better spot. The room was big enough to accommodate everyone comfortably and everyone from 7 years old up to 70 had an amazing time. Such a fun time and so much more interactive than just going to a regular hall or restaurant. The staff was seriously phenomenal! They were super friendly and the personalized instructions they gave had just about everyone hitting a bullseye which makes it that much more exciting. Definitely recommend it for a party or just a night out. read more

I went to Choppers Hatchet House for the first time this past weekend to participate in the Choptober Challenge, the largest axe throwing event ever. With every aspect of my visit I was amazed, from the beautiful facility, the helpful and friendly staff and to the management that ran it all it was a spectacular event. With 256 axe throwers competing and many more spectators it was a crowded venue, but everything ran smoothly and everyone had an amazing time. With that kind of crowd and that level of service I can only imagine how much fun it would be to go on a normal day. And not only do they have axe throwing, which is one of the funniest up and coming sports, but they also have a nice retro arcade area along with pool tables, many TVs to watch sporting events and plenty of seating to be comfortable while you visit. I know I will be making a trip back to New Jersey to visit Choppers, and I highly suggest you do too. read more

We had an awesome afternoon at Choppers!!! I had a groupon, so a group of 7 of us headed over for a two hour session; definitely could have stayed longer. We brought our own drinks (no hard alcohol, which is a good idea!) and an array of food and just had a BLAST. The axe throwing is fun; and our "regulator"/coach, Josh, was hysterical. The first bit is spent learning how to throw and getting used to it. Then there were several rounds of one on one games, scored and moderated by our coach. THEN a tournament round. Came here few weeks back for buddies bday. We were able to sign the waiver ahead of time and then go straight to the intro instructional and then start our matches. I forget what total party size was but it was $30 a man for the 1.5-2 hour window. It's byob and I believe you can also bring in food. We had the one designated fridge with the drinks. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday on a Saturday afternoon, and it did not disappoint. Our group had a great time and felt fully accommodated during our whole session. We had plenty of space to spread out our pizza/cake/chips/dips/etc. And, a whole fridge right near us to house our multiple cases of White Claw. My boyfriend and I have been dying to try one of these ax throwing places out for a while. However between our busy schedules it's hard to find time. Today we finally had a chance to go, checked a few websites and according to Choppers website they take walk-ins on Tuesdays from 6-9pm. We wanted to confirm before driving over an hour from Delaware so my boyfriend called and a staff member told him they were indeed taking walk-ins tonight, 9/11, from 6-9pm. We planned to arrive right before 6PM so we wouldn't have to wait long. However upon arrival we were met with large groups signing their waivers. My boyfriend was unsure whether we needed to check in at the desk prior to signing the waiver so he went to inquire. He was met with a staff member who said 'walk-in? We're not taking walk-ins' and repeatedly said 'we have a private event' before he could say another word. He tried to explain he had called and someone told him that they were accepting walk-ins. To say we were upset is an understatement. A simple apology would have sufficed but instead we got nothing except a look that basically said to leave. I'm not one to write a review but this situation really irked me to the core. No explanation, no apology, nothing. read more

I've been to Chopper's twice now and it was a blast!!! The first time we went was on a Friday night and there was NO ONE there. We had the whole place to ourselves and had a blast. They have arcade games, the Bimini ring game, air hockey, pool and so much more. I could hang here all night (and we did). The second time we went was on a Saturday night and it was soooo crowded. But the staff was awesome and it didn't impact how much fun we had. The safety coaches we had were so much fun and definitely knew what they were doing. Thank god, since we're slinging axes at a target. This place is byob (beer and wine only). Definitely a must try spot. read more

GREAT DAY OF FAMILY FUN !! My husband myself and our two boys had a BLAST . The teens are 15 and 16 and I was slightly nervous , but our guide Trevor Made SURE we all were instructed on safety . He stayed and hosted our games . We had such a great time ! I can't believe how much fun this is .! I had my heart set on winning but my husband did !! I will win next time !! Went to Chopper's for my first axe throwing experience. I will be going back next time I am in town! We had the best service from the time we called until we walked out the door. Trevor was with us scoring and teaching us how to perfect our throws. I chose this venue out of all of the options because of the arcade games and pool tables after our event. The other competition just does not add up-once you are finished you have to leave. I enjoyed hanging out with my family for a while longer competing in games. 100% satisfaction! read more

We came here for Mother's Day to do something fun! I got a groupon and saved a good amount of money. The groupon was not working online, so I had to call and book through the phone which was no big deal. I had to pay the taxes over the phone, which I guess was not included in the groupon rate. Something like $20 not a huge deal. The place is really fun. There is so much more to do then ax throwing. There was pool, arcade games and more. It was fun playing the games while we waited the few minutes for our instructor. The decor everywhere was so fun! Big bull's eyes everywhere and some really cool graffiti art. You are able to bring your own food and drinks. There are fridges there you can keep everything in and tables with plenty of room to spread out. There were also TVs you could put on whatever you wanted to watch. The music was also really good! They played a lot of older songs, some from last year some from years ago. It was a really good mix of songs that everyone knew. The instructor Curtis was very friendly and knowledgeable. Its nice when you can see the person teaching you really enjoys what they are doing. We spent a few minutes practicing. Then played a few different games to see who could earn the most points. Everything was computerized and displayed on the screen. This is the third place I have been to throw some axes. It is by far the best. The other places were fun, but cramped and nothing to do while you wait. We showed up about 45 minutes early to Chopper's and we checked in, stored our beer in the fridge and got in a game of pool before our appointment time. I wish doctors would take a lesson from this place! They have pool tables, some video games, and a TV on every wall. This is also the first place I have ever seen with a digital scoreboard above your head. We had a blast, so much so that I am contemplating joining their league. Oh and if you have ever read any of my reviews you know I value a good bathroom. I give Chopper's a A+ for Fun and an A+ for restrooms! :) read more

Took my family there on Sunday 8/4, after purchasing a 2 hour session for 4 off Groupon. I called ahead and asked if a reservation was needed and was told "no", as long as we arrived by 5:15. We arrived around 3:20 only to be told that they would not take us in because the Groupon purchase required a reservation. The girl at the desk went to a "manager" who had her repeat this back to me. The "manager" didn't have the decency to even tell us themselves. It's not as if the place was packed, there were 6 cars outside and no one to be seen in the arcade area. They were so busy that there was no staff at the counter when we came in. A little business advice: if you're running a promotion, it's your employees responsibility to ask the question as to if it's a promotional purchase. read more

They love taking the time to show you technique and give you tips on how to improve your game. I love that they provide fridges for your beverages and food for the night. It's clean, open and they follow Covid safety guidelines strictly. And they have strict rules about handling the axes, entering the throwing area, etc. So overall we had a great experience. And then the staff went above and beyond. My son inadvertently threw away an important item. I emailed them that night to inquire. I primarily come to Choppers Hatchet House for their Monthly Turnpike Strike Tournaments held on the last Friday of the month except for May and September where they were moved to the 3rd Friday of the Month. The 1st one defiantly had some kinks to work out but since the beginning each month they have improved upon the last month and they have become somewhat more efficient with time. They even tried a armature option based on customer request for a few month but probably due to lack of interest it has gone away. Choppers at least based on my experience with the tournaments really seem to take customer feedback and put it into action. In addition to the tournaments I've been to a few special events they have all been free throwing style so not a typical booked event experience but have been worth the trip over the bridge since you get a decent amount of throwing time in and sometimes some giveaways depending on the event. read more

I celebrated my husband's birthday at Choppers last weekend and all my 20 invited guests had a fabulous time. Everyone involved with Choppers was extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating to our group. We had a wide variety of ages attending and each one was welcomed by the staff who organized competitive games and a tournament which made everyone feel included. It's time to make some wood chips! This is the second axe throwing place we've been to, and it was great. My biggest complaint of the first one was there seemed to be too much time waiting around. At Choppers, there's lots to do: pool tables, a couple of video games, TVs everywhere, and giant Jenga (more fun with wood!). Our "Regulator" (coach), Josh, was as entertaining as he was helpful. There's room for private parties as well as large spaces for larger groups - and it's BYOB. This looks like a great place for groups. read more
