We had the breakfast buffet this morning and it was very good. All the food was steaming hot and not overly salty like some buffets. The buttermilk biscuits with chipped beef gravy was excellent. I also had the corned beef hash, french toast ( I never order french toast, but it was delicious and made of brioche bread), the bacon was crispy but still a bit chewy and the roasted potatoes were perfect. My grandson loved the little waffles and fruit. An auto accident knocked out power as we finished up, but the staff was unruffled and very sweet. Oh, the iced tea was very good too. We were on our way to Pegasus for breakfast and had a last minute plan change as we drove past Larry's. I haven't been here in years and years. Great breakfast. Service was good. The place was clean. The owner, Bob, was swinging by tables to say hello and ask how everything was. The coffee was good. The OJ was fresh pressed. I had stopped coming around after they screwed up my breakfast several years ago. Today I came back to try their smoothies and give it a chance. Place seemed to be slow. I ordered 4 strawberry banana smoothies. I walked in at about 12:08pm and and walked out at 12:38pm. 30 MINUTES FOR 4 SMOOTHIES OF THE SAME KIND... ONE BIG BATCH. When I ask the lady at the counter she says "oh they are ready". I said "it's been half an hour. How do I know they are ready if nobody lets me know?". She says "I don't have an answer for you". How is this acceptable??? The crazy thing is that I even left a tip because they charged me before preparing the smoothies. I went to Larry's II Restaurant for my Aunt birthday lunch. She ordered the jumbo shrimp with peas and sweet potato fries. She was amazed at how much food she received. Food was taken home to eat for later. I ordered a specialty hamburger and fries. We enjoyed our meal. We had a lot to choose from. I used to eat at Larry's when the salad bar was open prior to Covid 19. The food choices I picked was always good. I will be returning, hopefully the salad bar will be open because that is what I enjoyed the most. read more

I USED to be a regular, but the quality of their food steadily went EXTREMELY downhill. I was livid. Today I ordered the ginger salmon cakes ( dinner portion). Used to be a great dish, but no more. Although the waite service was superb, the management changed the ingredients (baited and switched) the meal's contents (using MUCH cheaper ingredients). Their salmon cakes no longer are meaty, but contained a good NINETY PERCENT FILLERS. Had I wanted stuffing as a main course, I would have ordered that . Plus they substituted something COMPLETELY different for the power slaw that topped the salmon cakes. (It looked like curly lettuce with minimal ginger dressing ). It was NOT a slaw as advertised. It was nasty. Management is being penny wise and dollar foolish to dupe it's customers like that. The pesto mashed potatoes were the only decent item on my plate. So the last time I went it was during wrap up time for the breakfast buffet, so they weren't really replenishing the trays, that was my fault, but what I did have was great. I know now to just order a regular breakfast when it's that later on Sunday morning. Plus, I think they were trying to prep for a bridal shower. Gosh, I've been going to Larry's since I was a kid and over the years, things have change so many times. But I have to say that I think that Larry's has finally arrived at a formula that is on the mark. On my most recent visit home, I was really pleased by the interior decor changes that have taken place since I've been gone. The cafe area in particular is my favorite. It's a very modern and comfortable space for quiet conversation studying or work. Our meal was delicious and service was excellent. First of all the bacon I wanted crisp and it was not cooked right. The eggs were slimy. The English muffin was not toasted. The fruit sucked had no flavor and the general manager or the manager she needs to go to training on how to deal with customers because she has no empathy for people and she told me, you don't come back here so believe me I am not ever going back there . The general manager don't have any good personality whatsoever even just to look her personality outside. She's the most ugliest inside because she don't have any customer service experience. She don't have any good attitude, good personality and she has a serious serious problem dealing with a customer how to please the customer how to make the customer coming back in fact, she literally insult us and not only insulting us is definitely told us that do not come back which we don't come back. We have been going to Larry's II since our Kids were little..I always loved the Food .Including the Breakfast Buffet. But we went tonight 2/2/24 And I was so Disappointed .We took our Clients to eat and I was also disappointed for them. They had cheese Ravioli ,they wanted bread there was no bread offered ,no refill on soda the salads were bad including rotten tomatoes. I had planned on the Appetizer combo with salad bar, until our waitress clearly told me that with all the extras added it would have cost me $36.00 so i ordered a Caesar salad which also had rotten tomatoes . The salad bar remains very good, however, the food my grandkids ordered was tasteless- literally the spaghetti had zero taste and the hot dog and Mac and cheese were the same- tasteless. Met a friend here for a late breakfast/early lunch. After a steady NJ diet of pasta, pizza, eggplant parm, and hoagies, I decided to go totally healthy as my trip was nearing the end. I started with a super green smoothie which consisted of fresh spinach, kale, low fat yogurt, honey, bananas, and apples. It was freshly blended and tasted delicious. No one ingredient dominated. I had been wanting to try this place for so long. Finally, 2 weeks ago my husband and I did. It was the Friday before super bowl Sunday and we were shocked at how packed the place was school/work day. The host took our name and we waited in the front lounge are that had a whole barista area I was not expecting. I was really amazed. The menu was short, but unique and decently priced. We decided we wanted to come back in a Saturday or Sunday to try their breakfast buffet. So, today we did just that with the kids. Well, it was more than packed which I expected (and hoped for). I wanted to try the Tiramisu Latte before I ate. I ordered that and my daughter's smoothie. Within 10 min we were sat and did not yet have the drinks we ordered. The barista said she would bring them back. Awesome. My son ordered a hot chocolate and my other daughter a chocolate milk. We all had the buffet except my youngest who I ordered a kid's scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast for. She is super picky and at $10 for a kids buffet it just would not have been worth it. (She is 3). My oldest (13) impatient as ever was eager to get to the buffet. I decided to wait for my latte. My 3 year old got her chocolate milk and my 2 older kids were near done their breakfast before I got my latte (that I ordered when waiting to be sat) or my daughter got her smoothie and my son still hadn't gotten his hot chocolate. I was being patient as my daughter still hadn't gotten her breakfast so I was going to wait for that to get my buffet plate. Finally, (probably close to 30 min) I got my latte and my daughter got her smoothie, my son still didn't have his hot chocolate and my 3 year old didn't have her breakfast. So I sipped my delicious latte. Around when I was finishing the 16 ozs of hot goodness, my son got his hot chocolate. I went up to get my breakfast and the buffet was near empty. I gathered some (what was supposed to be blueberry pancakes) apple pancakes, a little scrambled eggs and potatoes and sat down. My daughter still didn't have her breakfast nearing now an hour in. She didn't want anything off my plate and was very good about being super patient for her food. I began to ask where her food was. The server explained that the whole line was full of food and it would be at least another 5 min. I finished my plate. Never got any breakfast meat because there wasn't any and sat there with three kids waiting for my 3 year olds food and the check. Tables came and gone and I got the check. (It was wrong- the server had to fix it) I paid it and continued to wait for my 3 year olds eggs and sausage that I could have easily gotten and hour previously from the buffet for $5 more. Finally her plate came super hot telling me (I was a server/manager for 20 years) that the food sat on that plate in the hot window for a bit. Us all ready to go, my daughter nicely cut her eggs like a big girl and ate. I had to wrap the rest up and the toast never came. Definitely not worth $50. Great place to stop in if you have the time to wait for a latte. read more

Food has always been good as well as the service. The seating is very comfortable and feels like a upscale hometown restaurant.

This is the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. My family and I live in Minnesota and come out East often. We always make a point to stop at Larry's even if we don't have time. It consistently is the highlight of our trips. The food is amazing and the servers are so nice. We are always left wishing we had the capacity to eat more. It's such a great environment and consistently continues to satisfy us. If there was a Larry's II in Minnesota we would never eat anywhere else. Larry's never disappoints us. Idk how to feel about Larry's restaurant. Back in the day, the place used to be horrible. Tasteless food. Extremely young and immature staff as well. The restaurant later improved during the years before covid. They had a very extensive salad bar that was probably their best feature. The Italian food had also been a lot better. Yesterday, I returned to Larry's after another long (covid) absence. This time the meal was terrible. No salad bar, spots all over the my broccoli, tasteless potatoes, old and dry tasting turkey.. Atmosphere: The atmosphere of Larrys II is modern. It's not a big, retro, diner but more of a modern square building. The inside has several rooms, a full-length bar, as well as a salad bar. Interestingly enough, it's attached to a coffee bar so you can come in, hang out with friends and get a cup of coffee. It is unique. Coffee: Since the Larrys II was attached to the coffee bar, the coffee was great. One of the best touches was a large, logo coffee mug. I don't know why more diners don't use bigger cups or even logo mugs. They are also for sale at the front. Service: I was there on a Friday evening, and it was definitely busy. It was evident our waitress was moving around and helping several tables at once. One of the best aspects was how quickly the food came out. The appetizer and order were out almost in the blink of an eye. Food: The menu at Larrys II is smaller than most diners. There is about a page of specials and two pages of food. What intrigued me most was the salad bar, as many diners don't have it. The salad bar was fresh and refilled often. There were plenty of salad toppings and unique salads such as three beans, marinated mushrooms and my personal favorite, beets. I also had heard nothing but great things about the tomato bruschetta, so I decided to order that as well. It was delicious, and the balsamic topping was great. I would recommend it. For my entree, I ordered the pork chops off of the specials menu. The pork chops were marinated with a special blueberry topping and came with a vegetable medley cole slaw and mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked well, and it was definitely one of the better pork chops I've had. The food was one of the best I've had at a diner. Cost: $20 For my pork chops and coffee, the cost was $20. Service is very good. The place is very open and clean. The variety of fresh drinks is a big plus. The food is ok on the buffet, I prefer to just order the spicy omelets they have which you can't get anywhere else. They have a coffee bar upfront as well but I get the impression they use the burnt Starbucks like coffee that is terrible. Ironically when you order a coffee at breakfast they charge you $3 like you are getting something premium and it's probably the worst tasting coffee in town if you take it black. If I were them I would offer 3 different coffee, a fire roasted medium, a and regular medium or light, and the burnt variety that requires your mix it with something else that it appears some people like. read more

The oreo pancakes were pretty good too. And the orange ginger chicken strips were excellent. Went here for Mother's Day dinner. Food was out of this world. We ordered lasagna, pork chop with garlic mash potatoes, seafood stir fry, & soup & salad bar. Salad bar offered a variety of salad toppings from Cole slaw to bacon. Warm rolls! Seafood bisque & Manhattan clam chowder was delicious. Pork chop was only outdone by the velvety mash potatoes.
