I have been a Fume-a-Pest customer for almost 40 years and there is a reason for that. On the few occasions when I have called their office to arrange for something other than the monthly pest control service, they have always been responsive and easy to talk to. The technician who services my property is friendly and competent, which is helpful because I don't live on the premises. Because I have used only them for so many years, I can't comment on their pricing compared to other companies but it seems reasonable to me. read more

If I could rate this a zero I would. Customer service is horrible. Especially Dania horrible right from the beginning. They gave me two dates option to come in 7/14 and 7/15, I picked the 7/15 right after i responded I received a notice from the property management that it was scheduled for 7/14 9-1 .. fine I get it sometimes things booked up.. today came (7/14) no one came, I called property management and I told them hey the tech never came but I saw him thru my ring camera spraying around the building . He said oh you have to call them it's a third party so call them. I did and she was completely rude saying that it's scheduled for 7/15 I'm like the property management stated for today 7/14 from 9-1 .. I made arrangements for my kids and prep the apartment..her response was well we don't communicate with them so not sure why you got that message. I told her that's really ridiculous there's no communication and an inconvenience since we have to make arrangements with child care and prep the apartment and her response was no it isn't. And I'm not going to deal with you and hung up on me. Not even I do apologize for the confusion.. nothing... even if they don't communicate the email should state that and to only contact your company for scheduling. Plus this company never sent me an email to confirm the date .. until a few minutes after I called to complain that no one showed up. read more

I signed a 1 year monthly exterior rodent control contract. The first month I was forgotten. The second month, the scheduler decided my service day was going to be changed. I changed my work schedule to accommodate the schedule that was set up. When I called to see what could be done I was promised a call back the same day but never received it. When I called close to closing hours I was yelled at by Denia one the service reps. Very unprofessional. First I should not be yelled at. I have every right to be angry. Incredibly poor customer service to the point of screaming at you and scolding you over the phone. I had missed an appointment due to me having to stay elsewhere as I am unable live and work in an environment with rats, roaches, and fleas. I made arrangements for them to get into the unit for service and rescheduled and then there was a miscommunication regarding how to get into my unit and that led to another missed appointment. I simply asked "why didn't the tech call me when they couldn't get in?", so I could clarify how to get into the unit. Then the customer service representative named Denia started screaming at me saying "they DONT CALL YOU and they are tired of calling you, and so they just left." I then tried to apologize and said "I can tell you are getting upset" and was trying to clarify why I was asking, to which she began to yell even louder. I was so in shock by the treatment I simply said "ok" so I could get off the line. I can completely understand the frustration of missed appointments and I can understand them letting me know I would be charged if I missed another. These are common business practices. What I don't understand is how they can treat someone who is really vulnerable, going through a hard time, and essentially not having their home be livable and then treat them with no compassion and just disgust. Lastly I will add I have fleas, and each time the tech comes in he says I don't, even though I am covered in bites from being there for just a few hours as well as have a video of them hopping on my pants when I was there. Why would I make this up? My management company hired them but if it was up to me I would use ANY other pest control company. I have used many for my businesses when needed that have always been courteous, professional and compassionate and treated me like a human even if there were mistakes and miscommunications. If I ran this company I would have a good hard look at the folks talking to customers and representing my company. read more

So I called them because I missed an appt and she quickly laid into me for not being home....apparently my building manager scheduled a time that was never cleared with me (they came in the middle of the day/week during work hours - all of them are dumbasses for not double checking). Well if the next appointment is rescheduled successfully and I DETECT ANY KINDA OF ATTITUDE OR RUDENESS from their tech, I will throw him/her out immediately. That shit is not going to fly with me. Look friends, this is never a fun admission, but we had roaches (also going to throw it out there that I'm a super clean person and this wasn't a result of dirtiness). Also relieved that now we can say "HAD" instead of "HAVE" thanks to this company. Now that we've gotten that out of the way... Jim is the man. Period. Jim is probably one of the nicest individuals I've ever met. In any capacity. He made this terrible situation so much less terrible, walked and talked us through everything he needed to do to fix the issue, and was incredibly nice. And literally the first day he came we saw half the amount of roaches by the next day. They were completely eradicated in less than three weeks thanks to him. This company could not be any lazier; they drug their feet for 4-5 weeks on bugs in my rented unit. Turns out we have argentine ants, carpenter ants, and termites. We had to seek a termite inspector and have lived in shambles for a solid 4-5 weeks because of their lazy approach. They take too long to come out, when they do, they barely look around, they are not problem solvers-- this all after their just as lazy approach to treat paper wasps here in 2020. Our manager had to call their "lab" many times to get results on what the bugs were, after they had eaten a cabinet and were appearing nightly by this point. If it were up to this company, we'd just live with wood eating bugs and wasps, NBD. read more

This Company is only thinking about how much they can charge. They don't care about the service they offer. I spent thousands of dollars with them until I realized they where not doing the job and were never able to explain what was going on. They just wanted their check without providing results. The lady on the phone was only thinking of invoicing instead of bothering to listen. She showed zero customer care and service skills. After so many monthly charges and a poor service all I can say is they just don't care. Manger did not answer my request to follow up and discuss the issue further. I had them spray my unit about 6 weeks ago. I continued to see roaches in my unit. Their website said to wait up to 2 weeks to see a result. I never saw any dead roaches and the problem persisted. I called today 6 weeks out. Was told that I would have to pay full price to have my unit resprayed. They said, who knows, it could be coming from an adjacent unit. I was not present at the original time of spray so I don't know how thorough they were (I pulled all the plates/dishes out and sealed them in another room) but it's hard to tell if anyone even did much work in my unit. All that is needed to ruin a good Company is RUDE Customer Service and inadequate Billing System! I am an Accountant providing Financial Services to a number of Clients, and I could not figure out why my Clients were receiving Fume-a-Pest emails showing outrageous Amounts due, while regular monthly payments were made automatically through the Bank Payment System. The problem was aggregated with the lack of information in the Invoices available on Line; they did not show monthly charges or time periods covered. So I called the Fume-a-Pest Company at 3:15 PM today and politely asked for the Billing Department. The person who answered the phone did not introduce herself. She informed me that everybody was gone, and offered to help. I gladly accepted. However, as soon as I asked for the monthly Rates and corresponding Invoices, she started getting upset and raised her voice to me. And when I mentioned that their Numbers did not add up, she started yelling at me blaming me in making it difficult. She then transferred me to a "Supervisor" who was not there, according to her own statement made at the beginning of our conversation. It was RUDE. I still needed to know the monthly Rate in order to correct automatic Payments in case Rates have been changed. So I called Fume-a-Pest Sales Department at 1-800-386-3273 for a quote, and was told that the Initial Inspection was needed to determine monthly Rate. The Price for the Inspection was $300 for Pest Control and $400 for Rodent Control. This meant a new Customer had to pay $700 before he/she even knew if this Service was affordable. What? I said "thank you" and went on Line to see what Fume-a-Pest website said. And sure enough, it said: "Free Consultation". So in one day I was yelled at and lied to by a Fume-a-Pest employees, and I still don't know if the rate has changed. What a shame! read more

I called on a Friday because I had some bites and thought I had bed bugs so I contacted Fume-a-Pest. Dan responded right away and said he could have someone come on Monday. I was super anxious and was literally having an anxiety attack because I heard these bugs can spread if not taken care of right away. I sent a another desperate email asking if someone can come sooner and he was able to figure out a way to send someone the next day. Dan called in the morning to confirm and calmed me down before Sal got there. Sal came by, inspected and said he didn't see any bed bugs They both had amazing customer service. They were kind, honest, helpful and patient with me. Sal meticulously inspected everything and even went out of his way to help me put on my mattress pad/cover! My apartment has a contract with this company and I have to say that they are HORRIBLE at their job. I got roaches a few weeks ago and had them come spray in my kitchen and bathroom. A week later I was still seeing roaches so I called them back to spray again. The tech that came said that "Its normal for roaches to keep showing up for a few weeks after they spray." Even though their website says you shouldn't see any bugs after a week. So they sprayed my kitchen and bathroom a second time in 2 weeks. Now it's been almost a month and I STILL HAVE ROACHES!!! I don't know if they're spraying sugar water or what, but they CANNOT kill bugs. Stay away from this business at ALL costs. Pay a little extra and have professionals come take care of your problem. This must be the worst pest control company in the county. We had an apt scheduled between 1 and 4 pm. However, the technician showed 30 minutes earlier and then left shortly after 1pm because he could no longer wait. When I called the customer service, I asked to speak with a manager. I was immediately transferred to an employee supervisor who represented to me that she was the highest employee in the company that I could speak to. That person refused (despite numerous demands) to provide me with the legal dpt contact information. And then hang up on my face. The customer service of this company is a SHAME! Fast and efficient. Their tech even noticed while he was applying Gel in the bathroom that a unit had a toliet that was running. That saved us money because I was able to have it taken care of quickly rather than to discover it through a higher than normal water bill. read more

They came, they saw, and they killed. Mostly. I was having an indoor ant problem during a change in weather, and someone suggested I call in Fume-a-Pest. They sent in a technician, and, although their solution was to put out professional-grade Combat traps, they did eventually work. Although my housekeeper's solution (after the saw the traps) was to let loose in the kitchen with a can of Raid. So maybe it's the combination of the two that got rid of the pesky ants. But get rid of them they did. read more

They totally side with the owner of the building because they only care about the almighty dollar, as opposed to the truth. I've unfortunately had a problem with bed bugs in my apartment in Santa Monica. I've been living here over five years with absolutely no pest problems. Unfortunately the landlady doesn't want to admit that the bed bugs are most likely a result of her having made the apartment directly below me an Air B&B with many short term renters moving in and out. I had to call these guys pretty last minute, late afternoon the day before I needed them over. They were easy to deal with, and I had someone over the next morning. It was very straight-forward, and they did a great job. I'll definitely be staying with them for dealing with any future problems (our building being serviced is very old, and the area is definitely prone to pest issues). This company is terrible. The office does not communicate with the technicians, 2 weeks ago, they came out to our duplex to treat roaches, the guy showed up 3 hours early and started spraying the perimeter of my property without even speaking to me or my downstairs neighbors first. Which is an issue because they have young children who run around the yard all day. I went ahead and let the technician inside 3 hours early and he was about to spray but I told him I ordered the NONTOXIC treatment because I have pets. He was surprised to hear that but did gel treatment in the kitchen and left. He said he sprayed all of the entry points where a pest would come in and we shouldn't have any more issues. A few days ago, we found another large roach in our kitchen scheduled them to come back out today. My appointment was 1-4pm. I called to find out where they are at 3:20 and was told they need another 40 minutes or so. If they didn't do a bad job protecting the property the first time, I would not be stuck here all day waiting for them. They should have been here right at 1pm to fix their bad work, instead of making me wait. I do not recommend this company BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL AND THEY DO NOT RESPECT THEIR CLIENTS TIME. read more

If you are wise you will NOT hire these people. We recently moved in with my mother-in-law. I don't think they have been properly maintaining the property for years because when we got here there was an ant infestation. We have given them three months to deal with this and it's a complete failure. Not only that, but they are typically over 1.5 hours late. I'm pretty patient and called the head guy who assured me he was personally taking care of us and sending out someone with special instructions. I pushed off meetings and of course they weren't there. I called to see where they were and was told 'the guy is on another service call'. (So much for the specially arranged window). They were here just a couple of weeks ago (again) and this morning I got up to find ants all over my computer, all over the cabinet next to it. My wife has had ants in her closet multiple times and we end up having to buy ant bait at the local supermarket. I lost it this morning when I was told, 'he's not going to be able to make it - do I still want them to come if they are a lot later??'. I will amend this review if they deal professionally with us after we have been very patient and reasonable for 3 months since we've been here. They should be paying us as we have had ants everywhere for so long. PS. Just got called by them to say the guy will be here in an hour (1.5 hours late) and that their Attorney has 'noticed' this review and that I will be held liable for what I have said. Excellent service, very prompt and reliable, sprays for ants, spiders and other bugs. Tech is very professional and courteous. He knows where to target the problem areas. Office calls if they are delayed because of a holiday schedule. Also hired Fume-a-Pest to get rid of rodents inside my house. Tech surveyed my house and told me where he thought the problem areas were, and closed all access points. The tech came out every week to set traps and discard rats. It wasn't an easy job.
