Fulton definitely brews some great beer. Come here if you want to try taproom only beers like the barrel fermented brett IPA I had. The atmosphere isn't terrible, but not particularly inviting. I was snapped at by one of the bartenders when I asked them if they had short pours of their beer, so this is not the best place to come if you want to try a selection. Overall, I wouldn't return. Modist Brewing is right down the street. read more

This place used to be my favorite. Used to be but looks like things gave changed. Last couple times I've been there the music has been real loud; live music, real loud. It was super bije Friendly once as well. No more. There are bike racks, or I should say rack. It's surrounded and pinned in with what I assume are staff vehicles. Can't access the racks, and if I could I'd be worried about it getting crunched by someone moving their car, van. I always enjoyed the variety of Food Trucks that would rotate through Fulton. That's gone now, too. There is good, but it's out of a semi-permanent "Airstream" trailer kitchen. Same food all the time now. Fulton trying to capture a buck perhaps. Anyway, music way to loud, no bike parking, variety of food is gone. So am I. I wish them well, but it's not for me. I came for the great beer I assume they still brew, but can't put up with the other stuff. It's good, but not that good. read more

This place was great! Being underage I don't often go to brewery's but I was excited to go when I learned that they craft their own sodas. The location is great, very rustic, hip feeling. The Citrus ginger ale was the perfect balance between spicy and sweet. The food truck in front was incredible! Best fish and chips I've ever had. read more

Location location location. I'd say that plays very well for Fulton. Stop by a brewery taproom before a Twins game? Who wouldn't want that? I'm also a home brewer who has traveled the country visiting breweries along the way. I'll have to echo a prior review and say the beers are rather pedestrian here. My intention is not to bash them but personally, if I were to read tons of reviews saying they have great beer at Fulton, having never gone, I'd end up being disappointed. I'll list them descending order, best to worst. Sweet Child of Vine (IPA) - A very cloudy IPA with some citrus notes, very drinkable but could use some refining. This is their flagship. The Ringer (Pale Ale) - Very close to my favorite. Nicely hopped and goes perfectly with summer and baseball. Worthy Adversary (Russian Imperial Stout) - I'd say it's an average representation of the style but Darkness it is not, not even close. That being said, if you ever see "War and Peace" which is Worthy Adversary with peace coffee added that is much much much better, close to darkness territory. Lonely Blonde (blonde ale) - Not a fan of blonde ales but that being said it's par for the course and is probably what most people associate with summer and baseball. The Libertine ("Imperial" Red ale) - Just not a fan of this one at all. Really malty and just not very well balanced IMO. As I said before, my intent is not to bash them but I support MN beer. In doing so I must not mislead people and say every MN beer is awesome because our beer scene will never grow if everyone is satisfied with average beers. I love beer, and the Fulton Taproom is one of my favorite stops on a beautiful spring day. The Sweet Child of Vine has been a favorite of mine since they started selling bottles in the local liquor stores a couple of years ago, and really, it does taste better directly from the tap at the brewery. The patio can get a bit crazy before and after Twin's games, but if you go in on a day when they are a little less hectic, the taproom staff will take the time to explain the beer in detail. Knowledgeable and passionate, the staff really makes this place special. My bartender took the time to explain the flavor profile and brewing process of their regular taps as well as the "garage series" beer, which is a limited beer available only at the tap room. They even let us try little samples of the beers that we weren't familiar with. I also love the food trucks that they partner with! I don't work downtown, so I don't get the oppurtunity to try the food trucks in Minneapolis very often. They rotate the food trucks every day. By now most locals are probably familiar with Fulton and their flagship lineup that includes Lonely Blonde, The Ringer and Sweet Child of Vine. If you're from out of town, I highly suggest hitting up this taproom and trying those three aforementioned beers, plus any of the other half dozen or so brews they might have on tap at the time...because Fulton is one of Minnesota's mainstay breweries that makes fantastic beer, and the guys that run the place are great people. My credentials: I'm a home brewer. I know a thing or two about beer. I have been to enough breweries across the country to give the tour myself as soon as I see a mash tun. Suffice it to say that I'm an enthusiast. That being said, I know what I like and Fulton didn't quite have it. We stopped in an afternoon after a Twins game had let out. They had a fish and chips food truck outside (genius!) and the place was packed. The location to Target field makes this a great place to stop by after a game. However, if you drive here there is not much parking in their lot but there is some on the street. I tried a couple of the beers on tap while I enjoyed the fish and chips. Sweet Child of Vine definitely stood out. However, as far as fresh IPAs go, I've had better. In fact, I was a little disappointed with all their beers. They were good, but not any better than if you bought them in a six pack. To me, the point of going to a brewery--besides learning about how they make their beers--is to have the freshest, unpasteurized beer available. Compared to what else is available locally, I'd go someplace else first before coming back. The service was pretty good and the food truck was a great bonus. Yay, Fulton!! It's close enough to downtown that it still feels downtown-y, but far enough that you will be able to park your car! They serve the classics (lonely blonde, sweet child of vine) with a few rotational taps. While we were there, there was the Lonestar, a Juniper Ale, created via partnership with The Bachelor Farmer! Landed here early on a Friday night (around 7pm) and was surprised to find this place eerily deserted. Considering breweries don't stay open too late I was expecting it to be packed when we got there. However as the night progressed more people started coming in and the decibel level got higher. If you've read some of my other bar / brewery reviews you'll know that I"m a fan of flights. This is a 4 star review because, to my disappointment, Fulton does not offer flights. WHY OH WHY? It's so easy, you have the glasses, you have the tap, put them both together and voila! UGHHHHH but at least they let you taste a few brews on the spot if you ask. I don't like this situation however because it forces you to make a quick decision while the bartender gives you his quizzical look of "you gonna make up your mind soon? I got other people to serve" instead of allowing me to calmly savor the brew and pass it around the back of my gums.... anyways..... ** Hint to Fulton Management: If you want to earn my loyalty and word-of-mouth marketing abilities please introduce a flight option so I can enjoy tasting my beer in peace at my table... thanks!** They have an overall good brew selection to appeal to a wide variety of tastes so good job there. They do a good job detailing type of beer, IBU and ABV on the board so you get a good idea what you are getting. I was however disappointed to find there's no kitchen, only overpriced (however pretty tasty) food trucks. The place itself is nice, wide-open warehouse with a good layout with benches, stools, barrels that double as tables, so you have plenty of choices. I am from out of town and was hoping to try a variety so was disappointed they dont do flights, however they do free samples and spent the time to really explain their beers on a busy night. Lots of great seasonal and limited options outside their standard lineup. I love beer, but customer service can make or break the experience in my opinion, and this place killed it. I'd been to Fulton Brewery and its taproom before, once before a Twins game and once on a Friday night before going out for dinner. It's a great place to meet up with friends, and the beer is amazing. Most recently, I hosted a small party at Fulton Brewery. When I arrived, Gummy (one of the amazing staff) treated me and my guests like royalty. The atmosphere was chill, the beer selection was outstanding (something for every taste), and the food truck was superb. (I am a food snob and even I was impressed--the Cuban burrito is great!) If you haven't tried Fulton Brewery, put it on your list. I love the Lonely Blonde Ale (I'm more of a Pilsner and ale kind of guy), and their IPAs and other beers are equally as impressive. Fulton Brewery is the whole package: great beer, great location, great atmosphere, and wonderful staff. I'm so looking forward to going back! read more

I really love Fulton beer, so I guess it shouldn't be surprising that I also enjoy the tap room. I went during a Twins game, so it was pretty sports bar feeling, but I am a baseball fan so that was alright. Also I am pretty sure my beer drinking partner didn't feel the same way. Oh well. What kind of people don't like baseball anyway? Also, mega points for Hola Arepa on hand. Those jerks are always in St. Paul and I never get to eat off their truck unless I'm at the farmer's market. I'm not a big beer drinker, but I was here for an event and was in love! The tap room is amazing and the staff are so friendly. The Hola Arepa food truck was right outside and had yummy gluten free treats for me to munch on. I won a growler and gave it to my husband who went back a couple weeks later to have it filled to take home. Good prices on it too make him want to go back for more. They were giving brewery tours too! Great place and even though they only have 3 beers, it is a great atmosphere and down home vibe. read more

Fulton has a great tap room. Lots of seating, both inside and out and the location right next to Target Field is killer. This tap room sets itself apart with the myriad of beers that are (or were) only available in the taproom. Many of the other taprooms around will carry their 2-3 year round brews and then have 1-2 specials on tap. Fulton consistently has 7-10 beers on tap, something for ever taste. My current Fulton favorite is Worthy Adversary...check it out while it is still around. read more

I was at Fulton last week and they simply ROCK. I had a few Lonely Blondes that night and by FAR my favorite of their brew. The beer was light and went well with the hot dog I split with my boyfriend from Nate Dogs, which was primarily for alcohol absorption because we were headed to Smack Shack restaurant (a future review). What I really love about Fulton is that it's in the heart of Downtown where you can find parking relatively easily, eat at the local food truck, hit the night scene, and come back to close out the bar! On this night it was the case because after dropping over $50 on an over-rated dinner we depressed. The bartender recognized us and teased us, "Back again! Want another!" My experience with Fulton has mostly been limited to special events: the Gran Fondo in the spring and Artcrank, both at the brewery site. However, I have gotten to the taproom a few times for the Mill City Running associated run (first Wednesday of the month at 6p) and event bag pickup for the Gran Fondo. Service at the taproom is always excellent. I'm greeted with a smile, and the tender is always glad to give recommendations for one of the many great brews. There's always space, and I never have trouble ordering. There's plenty of bike parking available, too. I loves me some Fulton. read more

I was visiting Minneapolis and had heard about all of the awesome craft breweries that opened in the area recently. My friends and I decided to check out Fulton since it was pretty much right in downtown. The location is hard to beat! We did have a car, and found street parking really easily right nearby. We came at 12pm and got on the 1pm tour. We spent the hour hanging out in the tap room tasting their beer which were all awesome. The Sweet Child of Vine was definitely my favorite - I highly recommend it! I wish you could get it outside of MN. The tour was over an hour long. Which I wasn't quite prepared for (meaning I didn't get a beer before I entered). I really loved our tour guide (who was a father of one of the founder's) but it was more of an information session than a tour. I found it extremely informative and enjoyable regardless! One of the highlights of my trip to Minneapolis. So I'd say go on the tour if you have the time, and make sure to bring a full beer with you! read more

I love craft beer so naturally I enjoy going to the Fulton taproom. This is a really cool space with a ton of indoor seating and outdoor space so it never feels super crowded which makes it more enjoyable. The bar is also really big so you don't have to wait too long to get a beer. When it's warm out they'll have the garage doors and patios doors to make it feel like an open air concept. The best part is that they have limited beers that are exclusive to the taproom so you can try something new every time you go. You can usually expect a food truck on the weekends which makes drinking beer that much better. And the giant MPLS made sign is a great photo opp. What's not to love about this place? read more

As a home-brewer and beer lover, one of the first things I try to do when visiting a new town is to head out to some of the local breweries. Lo and behold, the hotel I stayed in had a magazine in the room which featured a tour of Fulton Brewery's owners' home. So we set out walking. There were some mistakes in how we got there (mainly relying on Google's driving vs. walking directions) but once we got there, it was worth the effort! Sure, they only had three beers on tap at the time and only The Ringer was available in growlers, but it turned out that was more than fine, as The RInger was the best of their beers. That said, Sweet Child of Vine was also a very well developed IPA, but not quite as balanced. Elizabeth went out of her way to come up with things for our kids, bringing juice boxes and highlighters from goodness only knows where, allowing us all to chat a bit and figure out where to get food. For what it's worth, her recommendation of Black Sheep, just down the street was awesome! Also, I quite enjoyed the music selection. It was a bit loud, but only loud enough to know what was playing, not so loud that conversation was impossible. Next time we're in Minneapolis, we will surely be walking past Target Field, with an empty growler in hand, seeking a refill. read more

These guys know their beer, and have an awesome place for fans to have a taste and meet the founders. We stopped by on a weekend evening to meet friends, with our 4 month old in tow (parents of the year, we know). The host at the door directed us to the handicap lift so we could keep our daughter in her stroller, as there are stairs to go up right when you enter. How cool was that? We tried a couple different types of beer, each explained in detail by the bar tender. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the brewing process, and they explained it in plain English which was easy to understand. The atmosphere is great. High ceilings, casual atmosphere, great beer, comfortable seating, and a gift shop to boot. I can't wait until the summer, I'll definitely be back here during baseball season. read more

I enjoyed the red ale but was disappointed at the lack of choice/variety, as the only other 3 available were pale ales. If that's your tastes though then this place is definitely recommended. For a Friday happy hour it was surprisingly not that busy and our group of four was easily able to get a table. The atmosphere was pretty awesome and service was good. That being said I think or a brewery it is a bit big for my liking, before the baseball games it is PACKED but if you wait a bit you can still find a place to sit. The Fulton Brewery is a nice taproom, and the location can't be beat so close to the Twins stadium. Appearance-wise, it's an open industrial type design with a merch area (wish more taprooms would have these) and a a pretty simple setup with the bar and some long tables. There's no food, though there's often a food truck parked outside. One of our general complaints is that the food trucks really seem to close down early. We wish there would be more than one truck or that the one there would stay open for the later-night crowd. The beer itself of course is good and fresh on tap. I don't feel like there tends to be a whole lot of variety -- like maybe four or five options. But beer is generally about $5 per serving, and super tasty. You can also get food delivered to the taproom, and if you ask at the bar, they even have a handy binder full of menus of places that will deliver (complete with notes about what's good). read more

I stopped into Fulton for the first time today and I really liked the space. I moved around quite a bit and sat on the patio, then at the bar, and then on the comfiest booth I have ever sat my booty in. Seriously, where do I get some of those comfy booth benches for my life?! I hadn't had my coffee for the day so I ordered the War and Peace, which is brewed with Peace Coffee. It was the perfect start to my day, so good!! I'm mostly an IPA drinker so next I had an IPA which was probably one of the best I have had. It was so good. Service was great, everyone was very friendly. The space is really nice with lots of wooden features and some MN tributes. I think everyone should stop by before or after a Twins game....or just anytime because I dig this place. read more

It was annoying getting my hand stamped at the door. It's so tacky getting your hand stamped. Reminds me of being back in high school attending the school dances. We're all adults here now, let's get rid of childish traditions please. It was dark and industrial inside. Like being in a basement. No decoration or other knick knacks to liven up the space. There were several long cafeteria tables. It wasn't very crowded inside as most people had opted to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the warm weather. On the patio there are several cafeteria benches. You'll end up sitting with friendly strangers, most of whom are there for a Twins game event. The view from the patio is pretty boring. Parking-lots and other warehouses line the narrow backroad streets. You also get to enjoy the pungent stink of trash wafting over from the huge garbage incinerator building that's nearby. If you're from out of town and want to visit a Minneapolis brewery, go to Harriet Brewery or Dangerous Man Brewery or Indeed Brewery for a better experience and more variety in beer choices. If you prefer a mediocre experience with limited beer choices, this will do. read more

Fulton is close to Twins Stadium and Target Center, making it a great place to grab a drink before games or concerts. While they don't have food per se, they do have a steady rotation of food trucks coming through their parking lot. The beers here are pretty good, Sweet Child of Vine IPA being my personal favorite. They usually stock a blonde, a pale ale, the either a red or russian stout depending on the season as well. They also feature Firkin' Thursdays, casking one of their beers to shake things up a bit. At $5 each, it's not a bad deal. The big thing to remember here though, is what you're walking into exactly. It is clearly a brewery, with cement floors and brew tanks visible from the bar. Outside of some merchandise and several, there's not a ton going on here. If you're looking for the bar or brewpub experience, this probably isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for a good value pint and a fun place to watch a game with friends, it fits the bill for sure. read more
