The drinks were the size of childs sippy cups and $2 ea, little cardboard tray of fries $3 ea and to sandwiches with over smokes, only moist because they added water and ground to the consistency Gerber baby food. The best barbecue in the world! OMG! I was so busy eating I didn't snap a picture or take any pictures. But to be fair I got takeout so pics of the inside you will have to find elsewhere. The ribs were so darn meaty..on both sides, and tender and just the right amount of spices. Not too spicy so kids can eat them up! The sauce was like "amazing" and it had a slight but noticeable Vinegar taste, but not like it slaps you in the face. I could use that sauce right now just to dip anything in, well you know what I mean. I could carry it around with me. The slaw, it is supposed be really good but is was just okay for me. Honestly, I didn't need any slaw with those ribs who really cares about cabbage. Now those who like to eat everything together would probably enjoy it. Like my husband who takes a bite of everything and then chews! I have to say one not so great thing. I called my order in, right. Then why after I went over to the carry out sign did I then get re-directed to stand in line behind people who had not placed their order? You should fix that little problem. They also had some really good looking pie, like chocolate pie, coconut pie and key lime but I was already pushing my calorie limit, but they looked so good. The bbq pork sandwiches are very good! But there is a good possibility you won't get what you ask for. I was here on June 30 and ordered a brisket sandwich, but they were out of brisket. So i went to plan B. I returned on July 6 and ordered a rib sandwich, but they are out of ribs. So I went to plan B and ordered the brisket sandwich, but they were out. I just sat down for lunch and ordered a brisket sandwich with coleslaw and a coconut pie. The pie was old and hard. Been in the fridge a couple days longer than it should have been. The filling was hard and brown. The crust was soggy and the icing they had on top was tough as nails. The coleslaw was a vinegar based slaw and was pretty good. The brisket. Holy Jesus. Disgusting. Hard as a rock, likely because they sliced it the wrong way and tough. Had multiple slices on the sandwich and it was mostly fatty ends with gristle in the middle. I've had bbq from Seattle to Texas and over to Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, North Carolina and even in Florida. This is hands down the worst pile of steaming crap I've ever had. One of my favorite pasttimes is exploring BBQ places. I eat BBQ once a week. Full Moon is one of my top 3! It is outstanding BBQ! Ribs and Pork are really good but the Brisket is the best meat out of the 3. 2 BBQ sauces...a good tangy Ketchup base and a spicy white BBQ sauce. Potato salad, okra, and beans pair really well with the BBQ. Chow chow relish mixes well with the pulled pork. Slaw is on "Things to eat before you die in Alabama." I didnt like it because I don't like crunchy Cole slaw. But the vingarette put on the slaw is unique. Full Moon cookies are to die for! read more

With some reviews, you aren't able to portray a full picture experience because you yourself didn't have one. But you can rely on what you did experience and in some cases, use the brand reputation to help further that review. That is my experience with the Full Moon in Dothan. I came into town for my annual fantasy football draft. After skipping lunch, I knew that some sustenance was going to be necessary for the long evening. After vetting friends at the house I was staying on places nearby to get wings, the consensus led me here. I wanted something easy, fast, and delicious. I can't ever recall using a Full Moon drive-thru before. So although I knew them as always being delicious no matter the location in Dothan, I have never experienced their ability to be quick. This location's drive-thru was a breeze. I ordered, paid, and was gone in about 3 minutes. Exactly what I was hoping for. My lemon pepper wings were on point once I got them back to the house too. Meaty, smokey, and tasty... after a great customer service experience and fantastic wings, I can't justify giving anything else but five stars. read more

Ordered the pulled pork with squash casserole and collard greens. Also had baked potato with broccoli. The baked potato could have been cooked better by being cooked longer. The potato was harder than to my liking. The broccoli didnt seem fresh and tasted like frozen brocoli. The pulled pork was fine compared to any other place you can get it at that is average and the squash casserole was cheesy and it was ok. The collard greens were mushy and I didnt like that. Worst BBQ I've had. Manager was super rude and acted like I was an idiot asking if they had banana pudding. Food was disgusting.

So we shared a plate with brisket, potato salad and baked beans. I got a sweet tea my wife got a root bear. Total was 19.37. Kind of expensive. If we wouldn't have got drinks it would have been 13.99. It was really good for how fast we got it. Half a plate was pretty filling. Driving through Alabama and wanting to sample some local BBQ. Gave the Full Moon in Dothan a try. This was my first visit to this regional chain. My wife enjoyed BBQ chicken, fried Okra and their chow-chow. I thought my pulled pork sandwich average and wasn't a fan of the coleslaw. That was a personal aversion to bell pepper in anything. The food is good. The drive thru service is dismal, at best. Today, for the 4th time, I waited nearly 30 minutes to get my food. I placed two orders, one for BBQ and one for a hamburger. The BBQ was ready fairly quickly...the hamburger, not so much. I placed the order at 12:33 and finally drove away with my food at 12:56. When we checked the food, the BBQ had gotten cold, the french fries had to be thrown away they were so cold and grease soaked as to be inedible. The hamburger which I got nearly 25 minutes after the BBQ was still hot but the fries which appeared to have been put in a bag or under a heat lamp were warm but soggy. This has happened 3 times before today; not to this extent but we have found their drive-thru to move glacially slow, even when there is no one else in line. BOTTOM LINE: Go somewhere else if you can't go inside to have your meal. read more

The smoked turkey was excellent!! This is a fast service casual dining BBQ spot that was on point. Moderately priced at around $7-9 per entree, the smoked turkey sand which is what I had and it was delicious. My friend had the brisket sandwich and that didn't disappoint either. While they claim to be famous for their "chow chow" - a relish type topping - I thought their Alabama white BBQ sauce was really killer with just enough bite to make it interesting. I decided to go to Full Moon Bar-B-Que to pick up a couple of Baby Back Rib plates (half-rack) for dinner last night. They were were so overdone and dried out. The little container of sauce really didn't help the situation. I had to cut the bones apart using a knife like a saw to get them apart. No 'fall off the bone' tenderness here. A lot of the meat was dried out and too hard to chew. I will never buy a rib plate from this location again. They were not warm by any stretch of the imagination. We got 1 mini-muffin of sweet cornbread on the plate. When I've order the pulled pork plates before, it's always been half a hamburger bun. The reasons I didn't take them back was the lateness of the hour, the distance to the store, and the cold weather we're experiencing. They were not busy at all but the first problem was when they came to the table and said it would be 25 minutes for the potatoes we ordered and asked if we would take fries instead. Last week, I had to attend work functions on three consecutive evenings and barbecue was served at each one. Imagine my disappointment when my husband and daughter said they wanted barbecue when we were driving through Dothan on our way to Florida. I read the reviews and grudgingly decided to give it a go. I walked to the door and was hooked the moment I smelled the delicious smokiness! What a smell!!!! I threw all my misgivings aside and dove right in. And am I ever glad I did. This is the best barbecue I've ever had, from Texas to South Carolina and all parts in between. Huffington Post named Full Moon one of the best barbecue restaurants in the country for a reason! You can get your pork sliced or the more traditional pulled presentation. The sauce and accompanying chow chow are sheer perfection. Sides are delicious, too . . . fried okra, slaw, macaroni and cheese, hand-cut fries. The interior space is clean, the service efficient, and the barbecue . . . Wow! Need I say more! This place was terrible.... the Mac and cheese is called creamy Mac and cheese on the menu, not kidding when I say it was the most dry mac I have ever had. It was basically buttered noodles. The bbq was meh. Not authentic at all. The best things were the fries that clearly are out of a bag. I also can't get over how filthy the restaurant was. I will say I wanted some Deep South Bbq and have been looking high and low within reason (sorry bob youre 4 hours away). The smoker was out front with fresh wood, but it being lunch I knew I may not see smoke. So, the nitty gritty. The staff ability? Superb. Short line, full tables, and plates being sling out the window like a champ. No complaining and it was all business. My counter specialist attended to this newby and hooked me up with my white sauce and didn't fault this Florida boy. The greens were not limp yet had flavor; fresh. I'm still working on my meaty baby backs. The MAC was hot a creamy, but don't skimp on the cream for this big boy; make em sloppy. Either white or red sauce here, but makes the choice simple; both hit the spot. I would like to see what happens if they dunk some ribs pre- smoke in the white stuff. Short of it? I visited this establishment during lunch last Thursday. I was in a hurry so I opted to go through the drive through which was a big mistake. I ordered what was basically a loaded chicken baked potato (I can't remember the exact name of the entree). The baked potato was dry and seemingly had the worst chicken I'd ever tasted from this place of business. It honestly looked like that particular potato might've been prepared days earlier, and had been sitting under a heating element since. I've visited this particular Full Moon approximately 3 times, and each time I've enjoyed a relatively pleasant dining experience for the most part. For this reason, I'd like to think my poor drive through experience was a rare occurrence. Every other time I've visited and gone inside, my potato has been excellent and the staff friendly. The food is pricey which makes for higher expectations in my opinion. My suggestion, do not go through the drive though, just go inside. read more
