This is the place I always go to shoot, buy equipment, rent guns, or go to know more about guns. The staff is incredible. It's a small place but the staff is very knowledgeable and not at all mean or snobby like other gun places. Save your time and money go across the street to Athena which is a much better range and shop with helpful and friendly staff. You get what you pay for. Short Version: I purchased a red dot for $100, later that day I found out that the same optic was available from its manufacturer's website for $40. There is no return policy and the optic was specifically recommended to me by the gentleman working the counter. I think this a 120% markup is ridiculous. Long Version: I went into the store to window shop earlier today. Had a great time talking to the gentleman at the counter, and I ended up buying a red dot from them (which was recommended to me). It was an impulse buy, and I never asked about their return policy. When I got home I looked up the optic online, to see reviews of it, because it was a brand I was not familiar with until now (Firefield), while looking through the company website I found the optic I had just purchased, the listed price online, from the manufacturer was $40, I had paid $100 for the same optic. I then called to ask about a return policy, where I was politely told that returns were not accepted but to rectify the issue I was offered a range pass. I was looking for a neighborhood gun store to spend my time and money at, and I am severely unimpressed and will not be returning. It was over a 100% mark up, and that was after the sale they were having that day, and the offer of a range pass, I will not be accepting, because I do not want to be affiliated with a company that takes advantage of their customers that way. I have not purchased any weapons from this location. This is a popular spot for international travelers due to the automatic weapon rental and location. Staff at the gun counter have been friendly considering the serious nature of the range. If you rent a gun you have to purchase the ammo there. Lastly: Only a fool would try to break into this place! They have a good selection of guns, especially NFA stuff. However the service from the apparent teenagers who work there and appear to fancy themselves operators/commandos is terrible and you'll be called "bro" a bunch while waiting forever to get helped or pay. This place is our go-to indoor range. They're super friendly and knowledgeable, and very eager to help. I've gone many times with my husband. We have been most impressed with Eugene (big Asian guy, HK-lover, friendliest demeanor). He patiently answered all our questions, let us see as many guns as we wanted, and gave us very accurate and candid advice about each gun and brand. Seriously, the best customer service ever. I also decided to take a group of girls to the range for Monday Night Ladies Night. Seven of us went, with only two having ever shot a gun before. Erik and Brandon were SUPER patient and thorough in their explanations. (It was like a condensed CHL class - excellent instruction!) They even helped us pick out the guns to shoot with. Two of the ladies were extremely scared of even touching a gun, much less shooting one. After giving a general group instruction on the basics of gun safety, lingo and shooting, Erik worked with each girl individually, showing her how to load, aim, shoot, etc. after they kind of got the hang of it, Erik and Brandon would watch as they shot and then give advice and tips on how to improve. Erik is curt at first. Not rude, just no nonsense. But he's surprisingly coaxing if youre genuinely nervous or scared. And Brandon is just super nice and sweet. Thanks for being so awesome, guys! Been shooting here plenty of times before and never had a problem. Showed up this morning about 10 minutes before they open. As soon as they open the doors all the students from the gun training classes walked in. No problem I waited for them to check in. While waiting a guy shows up with him and five friends. Mind you after I had been there about 15 mins And somehow him and his five buddies were put in front of the line while I had to wait for five more people to get checked in, most of them had never been there so the process took longer than usual. After about the 3rd person I left. Unacceptable. I even waited for them to open instead of choosing the range around the corner. Won't make that mistake again. read more

I am very disappointed with the service at Full Armor. My friend and I walked in today with the full intention of purchasing several firearms but the customer service was absolutely terrible. The sales rep wouldn't even acknowledge us for the first 15 minutes while dealing with another customer. After said customer was directed to the gun range, the sales associate returned to the counter and asked us to wait while he helped another customer who was there before us. I didn't mind this so much because I understand that customers need to be helped in the order they came in and the store did appear to be understaffed. However, the customer ahead of us told the sales rep that he had felonies on his record and that he was there so his son could purchase a firearm for him but in his son's name. The sales rep explained to the customer that what he wanted was a straw purchase and illegal under Texas law. This should have been the end of the discussion and the customer should have been asked to leave as he was attempting to do something illegal. However, the sales rep continued to explain over and over why he couldn't sell this guy a gun while completely ignoring my friend and I. Another sales rep finally came out from the back of the store and saw us waiting and essentially told us to continue to be patient. Several other employees and the owner were all present for this yet they ignored us and we never even got to look at the firearms we wanted to purchase. As a small business owner myself, I know what it's like to be busy and short handed but in situations where I see customers have been patiently waiting for an extended period of time I'll take a break from whatever paperwork I may be doing and help them. The owner in this case did not do that. He and the other employees continued to go about their office work rather than helping us, the customers. Moral of the story, we waited more than 30 minutes and never got any service. I eventually just left. I'll never be returning to this store. They clearly do not care about customer service. read more

PREDATORY BUSINESS TACTICS!! BEWARE! Went in to purchases firearm for home protection, was originally going to academy but instead went in to support a local business. It was strange that they made me pay for my fire arm prior to the background check but went along with it anyways in good faith. My background check comes in as pending which Is okay considering I share a name with my father and it happens, the next day I get a call saying i couldn't purchase the firearm (which is fine considering I didn't really want one to begin with but wanted it just in case to protect my new family and newborn child) They proceed to say that I can get my refund but they would have to take 25 percent of the total price for a "restocking fee" which is absurd considering the firearm never left their possession they offered me to appeal the background check but I dont have the time to deal with it with between taking care of my son and there being multiple reports nightly about gun violence and armed robberies in my complex we could not justify the wait! (They proceeded to insinuate that I was a criminal because I didn't want to appeal the background check, why would I prepurchase a gun knowing I was a criminal?) I refused to appeal with them and decided to invest the firearm purchase into home security! This place used predatory tactics to trick new gun owners into pre paying for the firearm and if you get denied for whatever reason they charge you for 25 percent of the purchase to basically put the gun back in the display case. THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY MY MONEY BACK EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO TRANSFER OF GOOD AND SERVICES! I took my carrying license class here. Mike was the absolute best. My fire arm had a few issues. The manager helped me clear it out & gave me pricing to fix it. Everyone was patient. If you read my review previous to this I bet you are wondering why I even went back here after the time I had before. I went on Groupon and I purchase the class and once you purchase the class they give you the location to the class. So I was thinking to myself oh boy here we go. Nice facility with rifle and pistol lanes. Store is very good with a nice selection. You can find better prices online, but that will always be the case, no matter where you go. The key, though, is the staff....fantastic people that are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. No "hard a$$ attitudes" here....just people that enjoy the shooting sports and share their experience and enthusiasm with their customers. Every one I have met there has been very friendly and professional. Met one of the owners, nice guy and happy to talk about guns (or cars) for as long as you like. Range was clean and prices were good when you consider they don't care how many guns you have (unlike some other, greedier ranges in Houston where it is per person/per gun, that sucks!). Bought a couple of guns there, prices were higher then say Academy but the service was a lot better too (Academy is okay but usually just one guy. FAF usually has several guys/gals, and a dog, around to help). And their custom stuff is amazing!! Might have to wait a little longer for work to be done then I would like, but the work is excellent. read more

I been patron of Full Armor Firearms since James first open and before all the expansions. I have bought a gun or two from them over the years and visit their range couple times too. Their customer service and friendliness always been excellent. About two months ago I was having an issue with one of my accessories for my deer rifle so I went in and saw them about it. They were able fix the issue but while I was in there we got to talking and I found out that they now offer onsite gun smithing services now. So gave their's gun smiths a try and had them replace my factory stock on ruger predator with very nice aftermarket stock. Dan and everyone at full amor firearms did phenomenal job on replacing the stock and I will be coming back to them in future for all my gun smithing needs. Great place if you are a novice like me or an expert. I walked in and 3 people said welcome within 2 minutes. I had two people help me pick out the revolver I wanted. Brandon "Barcode" helped me in the end with the purchase, showed me how to clean it and then gave me a lesson on safety and use of the gun. I was a little nervous but he made me feel better so by the time I walked out I knew what I needed to practice to get more comfortable using the gun. They have free lessons and also CHL classes which I plan on going back for. Definitely a great place. read more

I dropped an AR-15 off there for some gun smithing and had a horrible experience. On initial impression I was hopeful. I dropped the gun off with Matt & Daniel, described the issues in detail and was assured by Matt "Don't worry man, we will get it right for you... I just lost a gunsmith and am busy but I will take care of it myself! I build full-auto ARs and machine guns from billet so I don't think your issues will be a big deal, you are in good hands :)" They took the time to talk to me and didn't have that typical "I'm a more gun-ish gun guy than you are so I am to good to acknowledge your presence" attitude that some do... I left feeling relieved and hopeful - I even told Matt "I don't even care what it costs man... Just do me right" because I wanted a good experience and a good AR smith is hard to come by in Houston. A few weeks later I called, spoke to Matt directly, and asked if they had any idea when my gun would be ready and he was honest enough (this time) to tell me they had not gotten to it yet but it was "next in line". A full week later I called, asked for Matt and he wasn't there, but I did reach Daniel. He remembered our lengthy conversation about wanting the gun to be reliable and said "It is no longer waiting and is being worked on... I know it's important but like you said when you dropped it off, you want it to be fixed for good and we want to make sure it is right before we call you to come get it!" - My frustration subsided and I was again hopeful. About a week later (on a Friday) I called and asked for Daniel, told him I had an invitation to go hog hunting and hoped to take my "newly functional" rifle and he told me that it was STILL not ready but he would give me a call when it was. Another week goes by and another weekly Friday reminder in my phone to call to find the status and a different person answered (Brandon I think) and asks me "uh, what are we supposed to do to it again... I see its waiting but that's all I know - I will have to have our gunsmith Chris call you!" - I waited and of course no call from Chris. Saturday (today) I show up at the shop and wait patiently in line and finally a person I don't recognize asks how they can help and I ask about my gun. He tells me it's still waiting to be looked at and I tell him I would just like to get it back. He Tells me "let me go find it" and comes back 5 minutes later and asks "what kind of gun is it again" - then goes away again. Comes back and tells me that someone is getting it and will bring it to me. A dude walks in with my gun and I shake his hand ask "are you chris" and he says "no... Chris doesn't work here anymore... He's been gone about over a month" - I am assume my this is the same Chris that was supposed to call me the day before : / - Long story short... They never worked in the gun! The sad thing is that I really wanted to like this shop. I, my wife, my father, my son, brother, and three very close friends are somewhat of firearm enthusiasts... We shoot at the range weekly and having a good shop with a range and a gunsmith would have been awesome for all of us. I was a first time customer and really don't even even mind paying more (their prices are about 25% higher than elsewhere... About like gander mountain) but to support a group of locals I'm good with it, but sadly these guys pissed away a lot of future business... I won't be back. read more

Ever type of gun or accessory you can think of and plenty in stock (no waiting to receive your gun). Guns, bags, supplies, ammo, targets, they have it all. A store for shooters. - Great prices, great location - Good gunsmith services Con's: - Absolutely horrible customer service. Every single time I've been in there no one tries to help you our asks if you need assistance. You could walk around for an hour without an offer of assistance. Why?, because all the employees are busy "talking" with all the good ol boys hanging around, sharing stories, and enjoying the camaraderie. Asking for assistance is clearly an "interruption" to their socializing. I watched one customer get "assistance" from someone at the shop while surrounded by the mob, all giving their opinions too. Uh, if you don't work there, you have no business "selling". Very unprofessional. If you can get last the social group, I think you'll find this shop unbelievable, but good luck. read more
