Collectors Firearms Gunsmith exceeded my expectations! Jaime is outstanding to work with. He repaired my 0311 rifle quickly, professionally, and with exceptional attention to detail. The turnaround time was impressive, and the quality of the work was excellent. It's clear he takes pride in his craftsmanship and customer service. I highly recommend Jaime and the team at Collectors Firearms Gunsmith to anyone looking for knowledgeable, reliable, and top-quality gunsmith services. I'll definitely be back for any future work! read more

For a place so big and so many people "working" there, it has the most pitiful customer service. Won't waste any more of my time going to a business that obviously has more than they need or not really interested in doing business. read more

Everything from the fire arms options to the vintage war gear is top notch. Can't recommend this store enough. The service was spectacular and I enjoyed my time browsing. Very helpful staff and interesting stuff here. read more

They have a lot of overhead, so don't expect any deals. There's nothing cheap here however, you will find things at Collectors firearms that you can't find anywhere else. And I might add that they have an excellent Gunsmith, who does really good work. read more

They have a good selection of black rifles, and pistols. I had a trade but what I wanted was no longer there. There was a very long wait to get a check from management. Basically treated like second class citizen. I think if they checked my record they would find out I was an excellent customer. Sad but I will never go back. read more

This is a great place for the novice or collector. Collectors Firearms has something for everyone even the person who wants to go back in time and check out antiques. The sales staff is very knowledgeable of the products and eager to help. If you want a store that can fully cover your firearm and ammo needs this place has it all. read more

Called to see about a gun that they had advertised online and spoke to a lady but she seemed pre-occupied with something else, probably her cell phone . She asked for the gun # which I gave her and she said I needed to speak to someone in another department, so she transferred me. A man answered and asked me the gun # which I gave him and after speaking with him for a moment he said I had to speak with someone in another department as the lady transferred me to the wrong department. Was transferred over to someone else and he asked for the gun # which I gave him (third time now). He said that he could not answer my question but he said he would put me on hold and speak with someone else about it. He put me on hold and I waited about 15 minutes - no one ever picked up so I finally gave up and hung-up. Terrible customer service and will never inquire about one of their guns again! read more

I would find another place to shop, if you can. Tried to put a firearm in my name. A gift. It was the worse experience. There are some trick questions on 4473. Not trick but the language is tricky. I asked for some guidance and it was refused to me. In a very rude manner. I have called other gun stores in the area and they tell me that especially for a first time gun owner, Collectors should have provided a little guidance. Meanwhile they have my new firearm until I can pass the questions on the 4473. What a mess !!! read more

I started buying guns at the original location in "76 when guns were cheaper.Got exactly what I wanted at decent price. Forward to 2020, Had an old 1911 I bought cheap $75. Mister Bernal gave me $3500 trade value on it. Got some really good pistols for that much. Later he gave me twice what I paid for an old Winchester and bought an old framed picture Of General John J. Pershing with autograph. Selection is unbelievable, but you can deal with these folks. Make an offer. They might just take it. I will always check them out first when looking. read more

Glad I visited the Collectors Firearms - Dallas Location. The staff were extremely helpful, informative, made me feel safe, secure in my decision-making, and heard. I came in with tons of questions and each one was answered. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming. Ask for Dakota, I hope I remembered his name correctly. I highly recommend their service and I will be back. read more

I had an older pistol and needed a magazine for it. After searching the internet I found one at Collectors Firearms. The price was fair so I called to order it. The salesman was courteous and helpful. It arrived a few days later and was in even better condition than I expected, almost brand new condition for a gun not imported since 1968. The packing was professional also. I really would have given the 5 stars except for the shipping policy. They wanted $40.00 to ship a two once item with no insurance. It was a blanket rate for any package. A simple bubble envelope and it could likely be less than $10.00. To pay 40.00 shipping on a $45.00 item is not easy to swallow. I'm not mad at the company and definitely not at the salesman. I just feel they should examine their shipping policies and get them in line with real costs. read more

My friend selected this spot to purchase a firearm. He told me once I got there he met a guy Adolfo, who will be assisting me. I came in. I told Adolfo what I was looking for what I wanted, and he showed me a few guns that he felt would fit me and my personality, and he showed me how to use it he was very patient very knowledgeable and we had fun with it. I had fun with my experience and Ginger was really good with checking me out. I didn't feel pressured into getting something nor neglected in what I was looking for. (Sorry I was looking busted in the pic lmao) read more

Dallas Store. The Good bad and Ugly. First the good. The salesmen are great. Most likely the friendliest of any gun store I have ever been in. The bad ,they have some new guns. These guns are good quality but 15%-18% higher than the going rate. The ugly, the antique guns are super expensive. Good selection of old guns but much more costly than at gun shows. read more

Truly, seems like a museum, but most of the modern firearms are for sale. I'm from California, so there are a few used semi-automatic's that I am interested in having a CA FFL purchase for me. There are some beautifully engraved high end shotguns on consignment. I wish I had unlimited funds. Salespeople seamed knowledgeable and very friendly without being bothersome. They get 5 stars just for that. Many many guns you would only occasionally see at a gun show, but here they are. I spent at least 2 hours touring the isles and display cases. read more

Collectors Firearms moved into the old Barnes and Noble location on Westheimer last year. There is plenty of parking in front and it's needed because this firearms store is HUGE! It's 20% museum and 80% gun store. Inside with its 30' ceiling there are numerous collections and artifacts on the walls, hanging from the ceiling and free standing on the floor. Of course all these are firearm, hunting and military related. Seriously, if you aren't shopping for a firearm this place is still worth a visit to walk around look. That is the museum part that I mentioned above and it's free admission, of course. If you are shopping for a firearm, Collectors Firearms has to be the largest gun store in the greater Houston area. It carries new and used firearms and most of the used ones are vintage collectibles that are expensive. If you are looking for a cheap used gun this place is probably not worth your time. The inventory of firearms is impressive especially with regard to long guns. There are racks and racks and racks full of rifles, carbines and shotguns. Along with that is a large selection of handguns in glass display cases too. Finally they also sell ammo along with gun accessories like mags, gun cases, cleaning supplies, optics and other parts. It is an impressive store that is worth your time to visit. Prices are above average though but the selection they have is superior. read more

I put several rifles on consignment and they sold them in a timely manner. The only complaint I have is they treat the sale price as income for me and issue a 1099-MISC tax form wich requires you to pay full price income tax on the sales. Not taking into consideration the price I paid for the guns. I was told from the IRS they should be using a 1099-K form that lets you deduct my original cost. And I should't even need one if the sale was under the $5,000 threahold. Other than that, it's a great business to deal with. I won't be selling guns there anymore though. The folks working there are great to work with. I believe everyone can agree with that. read more

This place used to be a fair place to trade guns. I have traded many guns and bought many from CF but over the last 5 years they have turned into nothing more than a place that likes to try to rip people off like they are dumb. Insulting offers for prime guns and the used guns they have are priced the same as new. Don't waste your time with this bunch of scammers. read more

OVERPRICED AND LOWBALLERS!!!! Came it to try and trade $3300 in firearms so that I could spend $3500 in firearms from them, they offered me $1800 I'm in business myself so I understand making a profit but they are trying to make 50% profit... I told them they already mark everything up from manufactures MSRP already so why fuck me over! I'm already kicking myself because I bought a $2k firearm from them that I found at another store for $1500... Love their antique firearm collection but sadly I won't spend a dime here anymore read more

It's like visiting a museum where you can handle the art. You can walk around and pick up the guns (except handguns) and nobody bothers you. The selection of vintage and modern guns is phenomenal. Ever wanted to handle a Winchester '73? How about a $10,000 shotgun? Or a flintlock made in the early 1700's? No problem. Lots of other firearm related stuff as well. read more

First time here and had a WONDERFUL experience with the process of buying my firearm. All sales associates were helpful and friendly. Helped me narrow down my choices to the best gun for me. Jared was EXCEPTIONALLY helpful and friendly during the process. I'll definitely be back to purchase future items! read more

This place is like a playground for folks into classic firearms. You could literally spend hours in here and still not have seen everything. I've always found the staff to be friendly, though as other reviews have pointed out you will most likely have to ask for help as opposed to being asked if you need it. Still, their collection of classic and antique firearms is second to none in the Houston area. Having said all that, this isn't the kind of place where you come to find a bargain (or often even a reasonable price). That goes double if the gun you are interested isn't a collectible. For example, I see they currently have a gen 5 Glock 23 advertised at $720. These guns can be had all day long in other Houston gun stores for at least $100 less. I hate to advise someone to browse and handle guns they may be interested in at one store and then go to another to purchase, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Folks out there who may be looking for a gun to protect their homes and families and aren't really "gun people" can't afford to be taken advantage of and may not realize they can pay significantly less somewhere else. That money they save could go toward ammunition and training. read more

Luis a STORE MANAGER inspected my weapon and despite checking if it was as clear flagged me and when I mentioned it he brushed it off. EDIT: to further inform what I mean by flagging as a shotgun was pointed at my head unintentionally. Flagging in gun safety refers to the unsafe practice of inadvertently pointing a firearm's muzzle at someone or something that should not be targeted. It's considered a serious breach of basic gun safety rules, which emphasize always keeping the gun pointed in a safe direction, typically downrange or towards the ground when not actively aiming at a legitimate target. Avoiding flagging is fundamental to preventing accidental shootings and ensuring the safety of oneself and others. read more

I am not a gun owner, but I do support the NRA, and 2nd Amendment. What I am is a history buff, especially American history. When the Barnes and Nobles at Westheimer and Voss finally kicked the bucket the location was empty for a while....until these guys recently moved in. This store is not just a gun lovers dream, but a history lovers dream, as well. If all you want to do is ogle old guns that are anywhere from 100 to 400 years old.... Oh, and old hats and military helmets, from old Europe, too. :-D The kind with sharp points on the top that you have to remember having left in the chair you are about to sit down on, or you will be sorry, hee, hee! :-D For anyone who does not drive the location is convenient to 2 Metro buses...the 82 Westheimer and the 47 Hilcroft/Voss read more

Collectors Firearms has the largest, best-curated selection of guns in Houston. They have antique, niche, and otherwise out-of-production firearms you won't find in store anywhere else in town. Access to such a wide selection of firearms you can physically inspect before purchasing comes at a literal price, though, as they are on the expensive side. Often, you'll pay MSRP or higher for used guns which you could buy new for less anywhere else (presuming the other places even have them). However, if you're *selling*, they also pay you more fairly than pretty much any other brick and mortar I've been to. If you know exactly what you want and why, and can also find it new elsewhere, do that and save yourself some money. If, however, you want to browse a museum-class collection or are looking for an extremely hipster Gucci gun you don't also want to buy sight unseen, Collector's Firearms is a safe bet. Service is excellent, for a gun store. If you're a first time gun buyer, I say "for a gun store" because gun stores have on average what you'd consider to be terrible service anywhere else, and you have to readjust your expectations. read more

After nearly an hour and a half I'm leaving without my purchase. I worked with I believe his name was Reef, this was the name on his shirt but I didn't get his name verbally, and picked out an option that worked best for myself as a first time owner. Unfortunately their internet went out right before I was ready to finalize my purchase. This was out of their control understandably but what wasn't was how they responded to the situation. Instead of running my information via tablet then needed to switch to paper forms and the curly haired woman was completely lost. If you make a mistake then you start over and I had to fill out 3 sheets because of lack of instruction then was told finally told I couldn't even finish because they needed internet to run my background. It just seems like the team was sloppy, uncommunicative, and lacked training on emergency situations. read more

I've been to this business several times over the years. I took one of my grandfather's old guns to be looked at. They checked it out and told me what they thought...and after doing my own research, found they were right. It's true that their collectible guns sell at a premium, some more than others. I like that before they put a used gun on the rack for sale they go over it and give a good description of the condition on the sales tag. I've always been greeted when I first come in and if I later have a question then someone will help me. I recently purchased an old lever action rifle from there, and yes, they did come down on the price some after I asked. I also like that they provided a free 1 year policy to repair my gun as well. If you're interested in a collectible this is a good place to go. Just do your research beforehand. Much of their inventory is on their website, too. read more

Rude and overpriced. Will definitely lowball you in a trade. Got an extra $150 for my Franchi affinity from Brileys. Not a fan.

Great selection, but way over-priced. They charge more than MSRP which is wrong. Especially for such a large store. I wonder how many sales they have lost on customers that come in and leave and end up going to Academy which is across the parking lot. True, Academy does not let you pull their triggers, but most of their guns are MSRP (even the new ones in crazy demand) or less. read more

I walked in by myself! Moments later I saw 3 youngAfrican American men walked in. The manager of the store was acting weird with me from the beginning. After those men walked in, it got worse. He told me he wasn't trying to be suspicious, but he didn't quite understand the purpose of my purchase. EXCUSE ME? He walked away, and soon returned to explain that I needed to leave. He said me and my "friends" were seen smoking and smelled like Marijuana. Again, I entered the store ALONE! And, I do not smoke. It was because I'm black, as well as the others were. Incredible inventory, somewhat high on the prices, but the process of buying from them was relaxing and informative. The only negative experience of shopping there is that after I had already spent $300 on ammo and accessories, I asked a big fella with a black wedding band a simple question point blank to his face and he ignored me intentionally and kept staring at the cash register. I hadn't spoken to him prior to the question and was just being friendly. Kind of a jerk move. read more
