The place is quiet, cold, clean, and just a gun club. Google maps will sometimes try to send you a building up or down, so be aware. I'm not sure what they are expecting but gun ranges are not elegant, fancy or going to cater to your every need and whim. They are normally run by an old grumpy Veteran and w a staff that is normally very direct, stern and short bc they are dealing w life and death.. they can come across as rude, but it's not meant to normally. It's the fact they're often dealing with not smart people, not used to shooting firearms, and are casually holding things that kill people.. not your favorite martini. Keep all that in mind and don't expect them to baby you. First, this IS NOT the best range for first time shooters. Can you do it, sure, ideal- no. Second, I love this little range. It's a small, back of the neighborhood type of place. Only 18 yards or so. It's not fancy and only 5 or 6 lanes.. They expect you to know what you're doing; get in, do your thing, use standard firearm protocol for ranges, then get out. The owner has always been nice to me, as w the staff.

We even dealt with the OWNER, who was the rudest of them all. The second we arrived, they asked where we were from. We brushed it off as small talk, but looking back, it felt like judgment. We were a large bridal party with both experienced and new shooters. Since this is advertised as a TRAINING CENTER, we expected the staff to be welcoming toward beginners, review safety, and provide proper instruction. Especially since we had called ahead, explained it was for a bridal party, and were told they were "excited to have us." No mention was made about experience being an issue. Upon signing the liability waiver, the owner handed me a Ruger magazine (even after we said we were more familiar with Glock). He gave us five seconds to load it (even after we explained we usually use a tool because of our nails) before yanking it back, saying he had "seen enough," and accusing us of lying about our shooting experience. At that point, everyone was uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. When we told them, the owner yelled that he'd be happy to take our money but didn't want us shooting there anyway. As we walked out, he and his staff stood at the window and stared at us until we drove away. Truly, this was the most uncomfortable and unnerving experience I've ever had at a gun range and we are members at multiple ranges in our home state... I highly encourage. You read the one star reviews of people having ricochet bullets hit their hands and they begin bleeding and need to go to the ER and the owners didn't care. Or about the owner screaming at a seven-year-old. Please check the other reviews before coming here!!

Yeah--pretty much nailed my experience here. Didn't even make it to the range. The vibe said loud and clear: wrong place for you buddy. I mean I had on a Shadow Systems T shirt and carry a Staccato...not like I am slumming with non Texas pew pews, Now that I've read the other reviews, I feel oddly validated. The cherry on top? I shoot at SGA-Crosby regularly.....at least twice a week, usually more. I consider it my home…read morerange. The staff is absolutely awesome! William (the manager), and his staff (Landon, Hollie, David, Amanda, Sebastian) are always willing to help and welcome all customers. They are knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and helpful. That is why I do not like to sat what I am about to say.......it seems like SGA-Crosby is going down hill. The shooting lanes on the rifle side very often have a lane down, and on at least one lane, the controls are reversed. The staff does a great job keeping the lanes functional. The shooting lanes on the pistol side are WAY outdated. The six lanes are operated on a cable system that reminds me of myb my mother's old clothesline when I was a child. Send the targets out on any lane, then wait 30 seconds or so for it to quit bouncing up and down so you can resume your shooting. Lately, the store's inventory has been very slim. The Blue Label Glock showcase is practically empty, and the selection of handguns in general has been slim.They do have what seems to be a decent stock of silencers, though. The store itself is kept clean and neat by the staff, but unfortunately, there is nothing they can do about the parking lot. The lot is uneven, and after a rainstorm, there are numerous water puddles all over the shell parking lot. And when the lot is dry, it is so dusty that one needs to get to a car wash to rinse off the dust. SGA-Crosby is a good, convenient range for which residents of Crosby, Highlands, Huffman, and other close in area to go to shoot. It could absolutely be a great range with just a few very needed updates; the shooting lanes target movers need a better, more reliable system, and the parking lot could really stand a major upgrade. I am a member at SGA, and I will continue to patronize the SGA-Crosby Indoor Range, but I truly wish ownership would make some much needed improvements to make SGA-Crosby an even better location.

I've always been to this shooting range, but honestly, I'm tired of all the workers' attitudes…read more They charged $50 me for "hitting a hanger," but when I asked them, "Wouldn't it have a bullet hole if I hit it?" they stayed silent. The hanger is in perfect condition and not damaged and they will continue to use it. Plus if I did actually hit it then yes I would understand. However, Nelson the worker was extremely rude when he told me and just kept yelling at everyone who was shooting. Every time I go, the men there always look at me like I'm dumb and have never held a firearm before. I'm a competition shooter, by the way. I've been shooting for years.. About a year ago, one of the tall white dudes made a comment about a top I was wearing and laughed as he kept looking down. This used to be a good range when more females worked there; it was more family-oriented, which I loved. However, I'm never coming back here again because of the way they've treated me each time.

The people who work there are awesome. If you have an issue with your shooting they jump thru hoops to help you. They have a good supply of merchandise for sale and help you pick out what will work for you. I took the LTC class with Felicia and she was great. Tara is awesome when it comes to training.
