After a horrific visit at a close by competitor that has USA in their name... this place stood out like a beacon in the night on a foggy night at sea. Upon entering we were immediately greated within 3 seconds. The gentlemen there welcomed us in as if we were familiar family. We approached the counter and I asked them if they did trades and he said yes but it depends on exactly what I was interested in trading. I went back to my vehicle to show them my trade and a little background and they were more than happy to give me close to what I purchased it for as it was only 2 days old from where I originally purchased it from. They happily gave us a small tour of their facilities and showed us some products of interest. They were extremely knowledgeable about every product there as they are also a gunsmith shop so can also do any type of modification allowable. I was extremely happy to hear that they have a 30 days return policy on anything you buy there. Their nearby competitor surely doesn't have that same policy. The customer service is excellent and I was able to make my trade as well as buy new hardware. I'm also happy to announce that they are adding a range early next year right next to them. I love that small shop feel of a place vs the corporate treatment where you're treated only as a number. In fact, whilst I was there another customer walked in complaining about that same nearby competitor and how bad they were with customer service. Clearly they have a reputation that Texas Underground doesn't have and have been the savior of many. This is my official spot going forward for Ammo and Armory. Be secure and Prosper.

My husband went to purchase a hand gun yesterday and received the worst service. A young lady…read more(Katy) racial profiled us. From the moment we can in she was very rude. My husband asked me for $50 because he didn't want to break change. I pulled my money out and she immediately stated "what's going on here" this seems illegal and "you don't have your own money or enough money". I went to report the hostility and comments to her manager (Jeff). My husband continued his purchase while I spoke with Jeff. Jeff then states he would speak to her because she is a little "rough" around the edges. I left the store and my husband called saying the manager put a block on his name for 30 days due to suspected Straw sale. This didn't happen until I reported he poor customer service skills. My husband collects firearms as this would have been his 5th purchase from Academy. He has never had an issue until meeting Katie and Jeff. To add insult to injury he started saying we are being "aggressive". The discrimination just kept going. We are filing a formal complaint as this was unacceptable.

I had to go to the back of the store and asked the shoe section and equipment section teens to get it for me. The person at the counter and small podium at the front were super unaware of any thing but the register area. What a shame again on front of house at this store twice in the last few months! Extra star is for having the treadmill and for the young guys in the back of store excited and willing to help! Sally - manager…read more Kailyn - associate These two employees are just the worst when it comes to the people industry. The absolute worst. No couth, no class. If I could give a negative star rating I would. And I don't think I've ever said that before. the associate started yelling at me and cursing at me and getting very "homegirl" with me... It was EXTREMELY odd. She even threatened me at one point.... Like trying to initiate a fight. I kept my composure and tone of voice the entire time because I really felt I was in the Twilight zone. Very very bizarre. It was very strange and she was at least 15 years younger than me. She charged me for some items that needed to be reversed and she didn't know how to do that. In the end, I had to wait about 15 days to get my money back and it was on my company card and company account so I had to later explain that to them. The associate above her came out and she was no better than kailyn. The way they treat their customers lets me know that this is something that happens quite often. There was just no real lever of responsibility or authority or dignity. The MAIN manager came out, (I don't remember her name), but she came out and helped the entire situation after I explained what happened. She said that they are not trained the behave as such and she's quite surprised that I experienced what I had. She said that she would handle the associate, Kailyn, afterwards. It was extremely strange what I experienced. If you don't have anybody that knows how to act in public they should not be behind a register the amount of insults I received from Kailyn was intolerable. I am going to have to contact corporate because I've never been verbally abused by a retail associate before... Especially after a mistake they did and for which never apologized.
