No place like it. Everything is delicious. I've had sushi all over the country and in Japan (albeit in the airport in Tokyo), but this is the best there is. You won't find a carousel of sushi here. You'll get what you pay for, the freshest highest quality fish. The owner, Yong, really takes pride in what he does and he's a traditionalist. He takes care in every cut and slice, he's creative with new rolls that are always incredible. Staff is always friendly and attentive. This place is the "cheers" of sushi restaurants, everybody knows your name. This place is the reason I fell in love with sushi and I could eat here every day of the week! read more

Just got home from eating there....much like other reviews, the sushi was very fresh. Unfortunately all three of us found that the portion size did not meet the price. Usually with any roll that is $10-$15, you get about 8 BIG pieces. All of our rolls seemed to be only 5 narrow pieces. More like a 3.5 star place. Cute atmosphere and okay service. Nice sized portions for price and food is decent. they had no problems replacing a type of fish that I cannot consume. Sushi was pretty good, especially the nigiri, I get pretty anal with the rice to fish ratio. Rolls are okay, nothing special. Tried this place because of the good reviews. It's a hole-in-the-wall type of place, but cozy (except for the micro-bathroom). I got the sushi and sashimi combo (comes with miso soup and salad) and it was really very fresh fish, prepared nicely, and totally delicious. Some of the best sushi I've had in a while. I was the only dine-in customer there early on a Saturday night, but from what I saw looks like they do lots of take-out. The waitress was ok, service was ok too. Only thing that was a bit weird was that there were 5 staff there (3 men & 2 women) and they were having a really loud conversation amongst themselves in another language (Japanese? Korean?) the whole time I was there (approx 1 hr). It was pretty distracting and really took away from the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. read more

Probably has to be one of the worst sushi places I've ever visited in Bergen County. I came in for lunch, not a single person was there. The hostess was pretty unpleasant, but that happens. To sum it up...I ordered a chicken teriyaki box. The chicken was exceptionally stale. The teriyaki part was sauce that was slapped on the chicken out of a bottle, barely warm. I tried a piece of the chicken, but it was like chewing gum. The shrimp tempura was fine, but the vegetable tempura, which I think was a sweet potato was half-way cooked. The salad's dressing didn't look appetizing, but I can't say how it tasted, because it didn't entice me to try it. No one asked me the entire time if I needed anything. Waitress disappeared once the food came out. I had to get the check from the chef. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

There are not too many places to select from in the area for Japanese food so I understand the popularity, but I recommend people branch out to other sushi restaurants in the area. Also, if you are going to order take out you need to call on the early side and be prepared to wait a significant amount of time, despite the time frame they give you. Definately, they have the best quality fish in Bergen County. Hands down! The lowest grade tuna they use is Big Eye which cost about twice as much as Yellow Fin Tuna. That is what Well Being Sushi in Dumont serves. They go through so much fish. It is always fresh. I don't eat left over sushi so I have never remotely felt sick after eating here. Your going to pay for it so be prepared. They don't give you soup and salad with your dinner but any great sushi place that I have ever eaten has not either. The fish is top quality. I find it rather amusing to read people's reviews. They have no idea about quality fish. Eat the shashimi and taste the quality otherwise go to Burger King and shut up all ready. read more

Best sushi in NJ. We just love Fuki. I have been coming here since my girlfriend introduced me to it 5 years ago, and never had a bad experience. The fish is always incredibly fresh, and they have a great variety of rolls and entrees. I always start with the spicy tuna salad. A very generous portion of spicy tuna served with half an avocado and julienned veggies. Soooo spicy, but so good! We also love the temaki basket. Three nicely sized hand rolls, served with soup and salad. The owner and chef, Young, is very friendly and knowledgable. Something to note, my girlfriend is deathly allergic to shellfish and Young remembers this every time we come in. We have never had a problem with an allergic reaction, as Young is very careful with the food he prepares for us. It's very reassuring to have a chef care that much about his customers. Service is always friendly and attentive, and the place has a cozy vibe (although we prefer to sit at the sushi bar and watch the master work). Parking right in front is ample.
