Miso Soup

I love this little hidden gem. It has by far the best roll I have tried in NJ, which is the Duke roll..: it is unbelievable and I do wish every sushi lover would get the chance to try it. The service is great, the place is small but very cute, and everything you eat is fresh and high quality. This is out spot to go. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Ordered Uber Eats from here and was fairly pleased with the food. I got a Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu Don, Shrimp Tempura appetizer, and several sushi rolls. Other than the chicken katsu which I thought was a little weak (the batter was loose and didn't stay on the meat), the others were pretty good. The prices are a tad on the high side when compared to other neighborhood sushi joints. I'm not sure the food itself warrants the higher price point.

This review is being written after the ~over 50 times I have been to Fuki and the hundreds of thousands of dollars I have spent. I grew up a town over from River Edge, and although I have now moved, this has been my go-to sushi spot every single time I lived home or now, return back home. Quite simply- it's because it is BOMB. Like legitimately... I dream of this sushi. There's so much to talk about but I will mention what I think is most important for anyone reading: - Young, the chef, is a sweetheart. He goes out of his way to greet you once you step inside, and if you are a returning diner, he will definitely make sure to learn your name and talk to you about anything. He definitely is the face of Fuki Sushi & makes you feel like you're home. - The place itself is quite small, but there never seems to be an issue getting seated quickly. The service, on top of that... impeccable. If you really wanted to be in and out in 45 minutes, you could. + to make it a cherry on top, it's BYOB - stop by the liquor store right next door, get some Sapporo and enjoy it with your sushi! It's definitely a casual vibe, don't worry about dressing up, and always some peaceful music playing. - Their specialty roles- you cannot go wrong with any of them. But for starters, I ALWAYS get the Spicy Tuna Salad because it is too good and NEVER gets old. Fresh spicy tuna with whole cut avocado, cucumber, sesame seeds, and spicy sauce. Amazing. I usually try to change up the rolls every time I go to try something new, but I seem to go back again and again to the Banzai Roll, Skinny Salmon Roll & the Beach Resort Roll. If you're a salmon and tuna lover, this combination will leave you in heaven. Coming to Young for his amazing sushi ever since I remember beginning to eat sushi has made it so hard for me (now having moved out of town) to find an establishment I can give my loyalty too. Whether you're just visiting the area, or you live around and need a new sushi spot to go to, definitely stop by! Great for dates, big families, anything. Take-out available & always fresh too :-)

Moved into town and needed some summer sushi. Great establishment with fresh and quality sushi. Love it and a gem to support and visit. Will be back for sure!

We just moved to Oradell and have been exploring our different restaurant options in the area. I called to order take out and the girl on the phone was really sweet and took the time to explain the party platters and the popular rolls on the menu, which apparently are the Spicy Crunch and Duke rolls. The prices are definitely on the higher side from the sushi places in Englewood. You can typically get 36 pieces of sashimi for $50, but here it's 24 pieces of sashimi for $50. The $100 party platter is also on the much smaller size in quantity. But admittedly the quality of the sashimi is better and top notch. The pieces are thicker and tastes fresh not frozen. We ordered the sashimi deluxe which came with 18 pieces of thick and fresh cuts of salmon, tuna, yellow tail, fluke, and white tuna - perfection. I got the Spicy Crunch roll, which I didn't realize was going to be mushed up tuna, salmon, and yellow tail. I didn't know what I was eating and wasn't a fan. We also got the Nigiri Sushi Regular which was good. Loved the salad dressing the salads came with. The total was just over $70. I took off a star because when you drive northbound on Kinderkemack Road you can easily score street parking, but when you're driving southbound from Oradell parking is literally impossible. I also took off a star because you're definitely getting less bang for you buck, but my disclaimer is that I'm still exploring the area so these prices may be the norm.

Unagi Don

I was trying to find a sushi place I ate at about a year ago when in this area. I thought this was the place based on the proximity to my hotel and it's general location. It wasn't the place, BUT I found a gem! I went in around 7:30 in the evening. I was the only eat-in dinner, but they had a brisk carry out business. The owner is the sushi chef and from what I could discern they have another individual that works part time as a sushi chef. Service was fast, but with me being the only eat-in diner I wouldn't expect anything different. I ordered a Kani Salad to start, an Uptown Roll, and a Unagi Don. I have seen the Kani Salad made so many different ways. This salad had an elegant presentation, a decent portion of Kani, but perhaps more iceberg lettuce then I anticipated. This may have been a trade off as the Unagi Don comes with a salad too. The Uptown Roll was fresh, portioned properly, and had a good flavor profile. I was looking for a little bit of a zest with it. If I order it again, I will see if they can kick it up with some spice or something. The Unagi Don was outstanding. A decent portion of smoked eel, garnished nicely, and was quite flavorful. I struck up a conversation with the owner. He indicates that the food is fresh daily via the fisherman. He does not source from the wholesale markets. Salmon from Scotland, other fish from South America, eel from China. Most of it is packed and shipped overnight via FedX to him or his local distributor. While the prices here are a little higher, I will pay a little more for freshness and quality. I post this was some humor. The romantic Italian/Rat Pack music in the background made for a pleasant experience. I have somewhat of a mixed feeling about the music as it was not the music I would associate with a Japanese restaurant.

What is special about this? Nothing!!!

WASTE OF MONEY. Food was just delivered via Uber Eats. Good Uber eats service but that's where it stops in terms of positive experience. The sushi is fishy tasting and lacks creativity. We got all specialty rolls and there is nothing special about these rolls (see picture), especially considering the price. Some way to fishy, some tastes like BBQ sauce. Can't be more adamant about staying away from this place. May be a further ride but Yuki Hana in Park Ridge is unbeatable, they understand what a specialty roll means. Overall, terrible sushi.

Super disappointed. Ordered $29 worth of sushi and they said it's a $30 delivery minimum. I live a 2 minute drive away. Then when I arrived I was told they don't take AMEX. When I looked at the bill I saw that they charged me $15 for something that said $14 on their menu. None of their menus (website or print out menu) reflect actual prices. When I get home every single piece of sushi fell apart and wasn't adequately wrapped. Their sushi is very fresh but they have poor customer service for sure .

Not only is the food awesome - I ordered a ramen, plain hot dog, and halo-halo shaved ice (addictively good) - but bonus stars to the staff who were sooo sweet! The Hawaiian style shaved ice and home-made ice cream are top notch. The ice cream is rich and delicious, with some unique flavors, and the shaved ice is very fine - fluffy and evenly slushy in texture and sweetness, unlike the inferior versions where you run into bland chips of ice. The toppings are yum too. The ramen noodles are springy, settled in a savory light broth. For a non-prestige grade ramen, I have no complaints. I also want to acknowledge the lovely hospitality. My child was in a tantrum-y mood and went to sulk by himself in a corner. Seeing the pouty little grump in a small fit, the girls at the counter coaxed him over with ice cream and stickers, which he of course eagerly accepted, pleased by the attention and confection, and was soon back to his endearing self. So I really appreciated their extra kindness! This is a fab joint for a quick-casual or just a perfect sweet treat!

From the outside and inside, it really doesn't look like much. They're currently operating as take-out only - no dining in. The interior is a bit messy and disorganized, but you'll look past that once you try their sushi. Their menu offers your Japanese classics - regular sushi rolls, special sushi rolls, sashimi, bento boxes, udon, salads, soups, tempura, etc. I highly recommend their lunch and dinner specials - it's the best bang for your buck! Everything is reasonably priced and you'll get your money's worth. The full menu is available on their website. You have to call to place your order and then pick it up. You pay once you're there. I don't think they use third-party services anymore like Uber or DoorDash. I've been ordering their lunch special (3 rolls for ~$16 with complimentary soup or salad) and I'm always satisfied. My food takes around 15-20 minutes to be ready, which is very reasonable. I haven't had any issues with the service here. They are efficient, pleasant, and always get my order right. My favorite rolls are the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and eel & avocado. The fish to rice ratio is perfect. They pack your rolls with a huge portion of fish. The rice is well seasoned with vinegar, sugar, and salt. The tuna and salmon are incredibly fresh and they're actually spicy!!! They even include a few complimentary pieces of deep fried California rolls. This is one of my go-to spots for a satisfying and filling sushi meal. And you cannot beat the price and value!

THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ Quiet inside on a Friday evening, but they had plenty of pickup orders, so were busy bees churning out takeout bags. Dining in was very peaceful. + Service was decent as the food came out fairly quickly. + Spacious interior with lots of tables. + BYOB. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - No private parking lot, but there are free 1 hour street parking spaces all around and a free parking lot 1 block west on Oradell Ave that has 3 hour parking limits. MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Food was up and down. Sushi was disappointing, but kitchen food wad decent. - Sushi for Two - 20 pieces of assorted sushi and 2 rolls (California and Spicy Tuna) for $48.95 (as of March 2026). Was actually reasonably priced for so many pieces of sushi. Unfortunately, sushi rice was on the mushy side and the fish was room temp, so didn't taste like the freshest fish from the sea. + Nabeyaki Udon - Soliddddd. Arrived in a piping hot clay pot and the broth, udon and chicken were pretty good. + Kake Fry - 4 freshly fried oysters were good. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = During our entire time here from 5:45 - 6:45 on a Friday evening, only 2 other parties sat down inside. Rest were take out orders.
