I very rarely go out of my way to leave bad reviews but I couldn't let this slide. So I had ordered steamed gyoza to start and she got the order wrong. Brought vegetable instead of pork. When I had nicely told her, she insisted that I said vegetable and even brought her notepad to show me that's what she had written. I was like well you didn't understand me then. She didn't even offer to replace it or apologize. The sushi rolls a themselves took a century to come out, despite us being the only people there. The menu was really basic and didn't have much variety. The quality of the sushi itself was just OKAY, pretty flavorless. The sushi rice was overcooked and was really mushy. The waitress never brought out small plates to share. I had to get up and grab a drink myself from their fridge because it never occurred to her to offer anything to drink. She took forever to pick up the dishes after we were done or even to bring us the check. She could not have been more unattentive. Horrible experience. The moment we found this place we instantly became addicted (going there about 3 days a week at one point). The food is so fresh and delicious. It's not overdone or salty. And they're so very accommodating if I need to slightly change an ingredient (thicker or thinner noodles, turning my favorite stir fry into a soup, using low sodium soy sauce, etc.). We've never gotten anything we didn't like. The staff there is mostly family and they're so incredibly sweet and kind. Sometimes the chef has come out of the kitchen to personally greet me and hand me fresh fruit he got in that day. This family are truly gracious hosts. I know there's a lot of competing restaurants (even within that strip mall) but this place is 100% worth trying. read more

We ordered the Spicy Salmon and Tuna Rolls. I couldn't tell you which was which, but both were fishy and mushy. Definitely NOT fresh. Super disappointed honestly. I love sushi, I really do. I pretty much crave it all the time! I spent 60 bucks on food here that I didn't even want to finish eating. This was some of the worst sushi I've ever had... The rice was overcooked and felt like thick mush getting stuck to my mouth. The eel sauce was SO overpowering and WAY overly sweet. No amount of salty soy sauce or spicy mayo could go against it... The shrimp was overcooked and hard/tough. I ordered a Kani Salad and the portion was insanely small. It was a small scoop on top of a huge bed of leafy greens. I'm sorry, but I won't try this sushi again and I don't recommend it. The people who were working behind the counter were friendly. Came here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon by myself. It's a nice place, easy to find. Walked in to find out I was the only one. The host was taking a nap on a table when I walked in. She got up and quickly sat me. She was very friendly and so was the sushi chef. I ordered a miso soup and Philadelphia roll. The miso soup was alright. The seaweed in the soup was very hard to chew. It wouldn't break apart which was very weird and it had a sour taste. The Philadelphia roll was delicious even though the salmon didn't taste fresh. This review is based on my delivery experience. There's a $20 min which kinda sucks, but ok. I ordered a small house salad and three rolls - spicy tuna naruto, spicy salmon roll, and another roll I forgot the name of w spicy tuna on top. The delivery guy was nice and on time, so no complaints there. Some of the food, however, was f*cking nasty. First, there were bananas in my salad. Bananas? Whoever put that in there is f*cking bananas. The dressing, which is normally a ginger dressing at most sushi places, was straight up duck sauce from a Chinese place. Ever dip your banana in your duck sauce? Of course you haven't because that's f*cking gross. I couldn't eat the salad, the same salad that I was forced to order to meet the $20 min. The rolls...the most expensive one I got is the one I don't remember the name of. It was drenched in sauce and the fish didn't look fresh. I don't like sushi that is swimming in thick orange sauce, it's a huge turn off. I didn't want to eat that roll. The other two were ok and I ate those, however my spicy tuna naruto roll came as a regular roll, but I ate it anyways. I personally don't really like sushi, but I will go if pushed. We sat at the sushi bar and were given water and hot green tea right away. We ordered four rolls with the chef. The sushi was AMAZING! We ordered a cucumber roll, chicken teriyaki roll, spicy tuna roll, and a shrimp tempura. Each were 6 pieces & the chicken teriyaki came with some chicken and mixed veggies on top. When we were almost finished the chef gave us a roll on the house!!! Not sure what it was, it had shrimp, avocado, & cucumber. It's a small local sushi restaurant. I visited on weekend evening, we were the only one who came in for dining. It's run by Korean family. Parents works at sushi bar and kitchen, daughter works for serving customers. Dinning area was generally dark. Not much of atmosphere I can think about. Honestly I wasn't much enjoying being dinning there. I ordered shrimp ball for appetizer, kamikaze roll, spicy crunch roll, etc. My favorite was kamikaze roll. Foods were delicious. I liked it. But service was so slow. I had to walk to sushi bar straight to order extra stuffs. I'll love to order stuffs to go, but I have to think twice before dining there. read more

The sushi is decent for a mom&pops place. The pieces were hearty but wish the sashimi was a little fresher. I was going to give this place a mediocre 2-star but the service deserved an extra one. The owners are a Korean couple! They are very funny and adorable haha. I had dinner here with my husband and my toddler was sleeping. (Thank the Lord). So we had our food. Price was cheaper than most places. Place was small. But we were the only ones there. The decor is nothing special. Four stars because the place is good for what it is. A small mom and pop sushi spot that serves good sushi at a reasonable price. Since they were only two of them. It took a while to get the food. Which I understood. I was a little sad they didn't have udon soup. Only udon noodles....., no broth haha. The vegetable tempura was different. It probably was a Korean fusion. They had a soy sauce dip with lemon. Not at all what I thought I was ordering. I thought I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki roll and a Sweet Potato roll. What I got was a hot cucumber roll with teriyaki sauce on top of the roll alongside pieces of teriyaki chicken, broccoli, onions, carrots and mushrooms. We woke up our usual time and went right to work for the day. I was putting the dishwasher away while making coffee and checking emails. The kids were slowly waking up and getting ready for school. Thankfully, that will be over this week. I had a couple of errands to run . Fixing the pool and securing my painting supplies from a friend for a bathroom renovation were top priority. My friend rang the bell and dropped off the supplies. I was totally surprised because I did not keep track of messages. It was a great surprise and the kids played in the pool all day. I must say for being a small mom and pop place the owners are very attentive! I recently moved from L.A. where good sushi is not an issue, this has been the best place I've found so far. The fish is fresh and serving sizes are plentiful. I'm not one for saucy rolls, I prefer sushi and fresh fish rolls and I have been pleasantly surprised! I even ventured out into the saucy rolls and the dynamite was FANTASTIC! My lips burned for a good while! I loved it! Came here on a Friday night with the wife and were pleasantly surprised with how fresh the fish was as well as the reasonable prices. We typically eat at the local places in the area, specifically in Englewood. This was on par if not better than the majority of places in the area. I started with a house salad with a thick ginger dressing that was great. Skimped a bit on the lettuce but had fresh avocado, banana and Kiwi. My wife and I split the pork gouza which was excellent. We then ordered together a lady in red roll, yellowtail roll, dragon roll and eel avocado All were fresh and filling. We then received a cooked salmon roll on the house by the chef. Just received delivery from here. They messed up my order and sent two orders of gyoza instead of one ( charged me double). I didn't see until after the guy left. I guess we ended up being lucky that they doubled they order because it was the only vaguely edible part of the meal. It came (delivery) with only soup, which really lacked flavor. The salmon was half cooked and warm, as the rice was served hot. This made for an unpleasant combo. Great fresh sushi. Everything we had was delicious. The only knock I could give was that the service could have been better, it wasn't bad but the waitress could have been a little more attentive, especially since we were the only ones dining in the restaurant. For the main entree we enjoyed their spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll and the sushi regular combo....all were very good. But what really blew us away were their specialty rolls. I've been here for lunch a few times. $9.95 includes two sushi rolls, a Miso soup and a salad, which I think is a great deal. They also do Bento boxes for $9.49. BYOB place, small but comfortable and accommodating. I think it's a cute lunch spot, I wouldn't go for dinner, but the lunch prices and portions are definitely doable. First time eating at Ms Sushi. Went with my family for dinner on a Friday night. The dinning area is very very small. The place is mostly taken up by the sushi bar. It's definitely not a place to go for ambience. I'd probably only get take out in the future. As far as food, we all loved the dumplings and the gyoza soup is also nice. The sushi was pretty tasty but I still haven't found a local sushi spot that has sushi that I really really like. The owners are Korean (that might be why I liked the Korean food the better than the sushi). I might try the Koran pancake next time. They are extremely friendly and sweet makes the experience going a bit more positive and I guess makes up for the awful decor.
