Friendliest business owners. My favorite roll is the American dream roll which consists of shrimp tempura, eel, and avocado base with crunchy crab salad.

New York roll & crab roll.

Cute spot with decent prices! It gets packed really quickly especially since theres barely any seats. The New York Roll was good- simple, but different from what ive ever had. Sit yourself at the "bar" and enjoy some laughs with the man who makes the sushi himself!

Over priced sushi compared to the website prices

Fishy and mushy! Also the website prices are off compared to the prices at ms.sushi. The woman at the register just said price inflation. Total bs will never go back

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon by myself. It's a nice place, easy to find. Walked in to find out I was the only one. The host was taking a nap on a table when I walked in. She got up and quickly sat me. She was very friendly and so was the sushi chef. I ordered a miso soup and Philadelphia roll. The miso soup was alright. The seaweed in the soup was very hard to chew. It wouldn't break apart which was very weird and it had a sour taste. The Philadelphia roll was delicious even though the salmon didn't taste fresh. The rolls are big so the six is enough to fill one up. The ginger was super dry though. Great service though.

Spicy tuna, chicken teriyaki roll, cucumber roll

Decided to try this place because of the positive comments on yelp. My friend, who I haven't seen in months, decided we should get dinner at a sushi place. I personally don't really like sushi, but I will go if pushed. We sat at the sushi bar and were given water and hot green tea right away. We ordered four rolls with the chef. The sushi was AMAZING! We ordered a cucumber roll, chicken teriyaki roll, spicy tuna roll, and a shrimp tempura. Each were 6 pieces & the chicken teriyaki came with some chicken and mixed veggies on top. When we were almost finished the chef gave us a roll on the house!!! Not sure what it was, it had shrimp, avocado, & cucumber. There were slices of fish on top with teriyaki sauce which the chef lit up with a hand torch, never seen anything like it! WOW AMAZING!!!! Can't wait to go back!!!! And to top it off the bill only came to $20 for both of us!!!

It's a small local sushi restaurant. I visited on weekend evening, we were the only one who came in for dining. It's run by Korean family. Parents works at sushi bar and kitchen, daughter works for serving customers. Dinning area was generally dark. Not much of atmosphere I can think about. Honestly I wasn't much enjoying being dinning there. I ordered shrimp ball for appetizer, kamikaze roll, spicy crunch roll, etc. My favorite was kamikaze roll. Foods were delicious. I liked it. But service was so slow. I had to walk to sushi bar straight to order extra stuffs. I'll love to order stuffs to go, but I have to think twice before dining there.

The sushi is decent for a mom&pops place. The pieces were hearty but wish the sashimi was a little fresher. I was going to give this place a mediocre 2-star but the service deserved an extra one. I dont see myself going back as there are better sushi places in Bergen County, but it was a pleasant place to stumble across for a quick lunch.

Spider roll and kamikaze roll. Great presentation.

The owners are a Korean couple! They are very funny and adorable haha. I had dinner here with my husband and my toddler was sleeping. (Thank the Lord). So we had our food. Price was cheaper than most places. Place was small. But we were the only ones there. The decor is nothing special. Four stars because the place is good for what it is. A small mom and pop sushi spot that serves good sushi at a reasonable price. Since they were only two of them. It took a while to get the food. Which I understood. I was a little sad they didn't have udon soup. Only udon noodles....., no broth haha. The vegetable tempura was different. It probably was a Korean fusion. They had a soy sauce dip with lemon. It reminded me of a Filipino dish called Okoy. Haha. The sushi tasted good and they presented it well. I'm sure I will be back to order here. Take out or dine in. The food was delicious. Maybe I'll go today lol Nothing much else to say. Feez

We woke up our usual time and went right to work for the day. I was putting the dishwasher away while making coffee and checking emails. The kids were slowly waking up and getting ready for school. Thankfully, that will be over this week. I had a couple of errands to run . Fixing the pool and securing my painting supplies from a friend for a bathroom renovation were top priority. I txted my friend to drop of the equipment and went along my day. Home Depot, Lowe's,Home Depot home. I was eating lunch and checking txt messages. My friend rang the bell and dropped off the supplies. I was totally surprised because I did not keep track of messages. It was a great surprise and the kids played in the pool all day. Everyone was hungry and we ordered from MS Sushi. The sushi was fresh and didn't last long because the kids devoured everything. I just wish the portion size was bigger. It was a great end to a great day. We will definitely be returning soon and I highly recommend MS Sushi

Dynamite Roll! So delicious!!

I must say for being a small mom and pop place the owners are very attentive! I recently moved from L.A. where good sushi is not an issue, this has been the best place I've found so far. The fish is fresh and serving sizes are plentiful. I'm not one for saucy rolls, I prefer sushi and fresh fish rolls and I have been pleasantly surprised! I even ventured out into the saucy rolls and the dynamite was FANTASTIC! My lips burned for a good while! I loved it! I usually come alone and the chef is very friendly and I appreciate him understanding I'm home sick and chatting me up. I did order to go once but it's just not the same, but I enjoy the restaurant and the staff!

Kamikaze roll. Such great presentation that we almost felt bad eating it

Absolutely incredible. We went as soon as it opened because we needed to schedule our meals around…read moreour puppy... So we were there by 510pm. The only issue was that it's a little awkward being the only table in the restaurant and sitting at the sushi bar... Cause we had like eight people attending us and looking at us and listening to our every word. But you can look at it in another way and assume it felt like more of a private dining experience, which is cool. Because it was our first time there, we didn't wanna opt for the Omakase because my husband and I have had mediocre Omakase experiences and they don't come cheap. And something we didn't realize that this place does, that many other Omakase places don't do, is make their sauces in house to pair with the fish. A lot of omakase spots locally don't care to make a budget for sauces when they can get it ready made. A huge unique selling point of this place was at each sauce was separately made and stored in different containers to pair with the fish it was intended for... And when the chef had mentioned that a lot of Omakase places don't do this, It made a lot of sense. We ordered the Hamachi Jalapeño, tuna Crispy rice, tuna 5 ways, single nigiri pieces of sea bream and mackerel on my side and my husband ordered more basic pieces which I can't recall. We also Ordered the Hokkaido scallop cucumber roll. As soon as we tried the apps, we regretted not doing the omakase just because we knew it was gonna be that good. For Context, I haven't found any place in New Jersey that felt like a go to sushi spot that had high-quality fish, incredible pairings and seemingly consistent. The Hamachi jalapeño were bigger cuts of tuna with like this jalapeño paste sauce. It was amazing and proper spicy. No addtl sauce needed. The crispy rice tuna was insane. The hot rice paired with the cold tuna and their fixings were amazing. It didn't look like much, but it packed a huge punch of flavor. I think it might be the wasabi they use But both the wasabi and soy sauce were insanely good The tuna way of our little attempt at omakase ish. They gave you four pieces of Nigiri ( 2 being fatty tuna pieces) And a chopped tuna hand roll. I'm a texture person so I wasn't a fan of the hand, but each piece of tuna was better than the next. The fatty ones were insanely melty and lovely And I just really goes to show that I don't think I've had good high quality, fresh sushi or fish from many places Because no place matched up to this. I had ordered a piece of sea bream which was insanely good. I've never tried anything like that before and if I could, I would order 20 of those alone. The mackerel was really good and not fishy at all as well. The Hokkaido scallop Cucumber roll was very simple, but packed a huge bunch of flavor when you dipped it in the spicy sauce that it was paired with alongside a soy sauce wasabi combo. You could taste the quality and freshness. I was drinking a glass of sparkling wine... The wine was fine before I had the sushi... But drinking a sip while eating my sushi totally changed my palette as the sparkling wine paired so well that it became sweet. Last, but not least the miso cheesecake - Absolutely incredible and made in house. We ordered two more to go And they thought we were joking. That's how good it was. I don't miss New York City when I have sushi from places like this.

From the outside and inside, it really doesn't look like much. They're currently operating as take-out only - no dining in. The interior is a bit messy and disorganized, but you'll look past that once you try their sushi. Their menu offers your Japanese classics - regular sushi rolls, special sushi rolls, sashimi, bento boxes, udon, salads, soups, tempura, etc. I highly recommend their lunch and dinner specials - it's the best bang for your buck! Everything is reasonably priced and you'll get your money's worth. The full menu is available on their website. You have to call to place your order and then pick it up. You pay once you're there. I don't think they use third-party services anymore like Uber or DoorDash. I've been ordering their lunch special (3 rolls for ~$16 with complimentary soup or salad) and I'm always satisfied. My food takes around 15-20 minutes to be ready, which is very reasonable. I haven't had any issues with the service here. They are efficient, pleasant, and always get my order right. My favorite rolls are the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and eel & avocado. The fish to rice ratio is perfect. They pack your rolls with a huge portion of fish. The rice is well seasoned with vinegar, sugar, and salt. The tuna and salmon are incredibly fresh and they're actually spicy!!! They even include a few complimentary pieces of deep fried California rolls. This is one of my go-to spots for a satisfying and filling sushi meal. And you cannot beat the price and value!

We worked with Andrew Jin, one of the owners, and unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Our contract did not reflect the sushi display we had selected, and instead of confirming the display beforehand, Andrew sent an oversized boat that was simply too tall for our guests to access on our kitchen island. About 45 minutes before our event, Andrew admitted there was no time to switch the display and gave us an ultimatum: accept the display as-is or have the chef leave without serving. Given that we had no food alternatives, I reluctantly agreed to accept the display, though I was clearly unhappy with the situation. However, after that phone call, Andrew instructed his chef to pack up and leave, even though I repeatedly begged him to stay and serve our guests. He stopped answering my calls, and my fiancée and I were left in a panic as our rehearsal dinner was essentially ruined. While a full refund was issued, its clear that this was done out of spite rather than good faith, despite what Andrew may claim. I want to emphasize that this is not about money, nor am I seeking any compensation. My only purpose is to caution potential clients: if you have an important event, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere for catering. I could never, in good conscience, recommend SEP Catering to anyone.

Instead, this company sabotaged my wedding weekend due to their unreasonable handling of a question we had related to which display setup we were supposed to receive. When asked if they would be able to bring us the correct display before our guest arrived (because the display that was given was large for our kitchen) Andrew Jin said gave us an ultimatum: to accept the display that was provided as is or cancel the night- we explained that canceling is not an option and we will take what was provided. Problem solved? no. Rather than honoring this, Andrew instructed his chef to pack up after our guests had already begun arriving, abandoning 25 people with no food and a bride in tears the night before her wedding. We were left for dead. Andrew Lin should be ashamed of himself for the unprofessional mishandling of this very simple and straightforward issue. It was unwarranted and unprovoked to leave in such a manner. This was not only unprofessional, it was despicable and evil. If you hire Sushi Event Professionals, know that Andrew Jin and this company lacks empathy, basic conflict-resolution skills, and the professionalism expected of someone trusted with milestone events.

Looking at the menu, I saw that they also offered a full Japanese selection with loads of sushi options. Everything sounded great, and I got excited for our meal. When we arrived, I was very impressed by the atmosphere, which was stylish, modern, and spacious. Our waitress was fine, but seemed to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. Regardless, the food was excellent! The place was BYOB, but did have a Shirley Temple on the beverage section of the menu, which I thought was a cute alternative. As I mentioned, the food options were vast, which made it tough to decide how to proceed. In the end, I decided to get a single piece of sushi and a full Chinese entree. The piece of Eel Sushi I ordered was delivered as sashimi. When I noted the difference to the server, she looked at me like I was nuts, but asked if I wanted a bed of rice to put the fish on...I just said to forget it, since I already had a side of rice with my entree. It was just a weird exchange, but the eel was fresh and delicious. For my main course, I went with the Chicken and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Basil Sauce and a side of brown rice. The meat was tender, the sauce had just the right amount of heat, and it was all just so flavorful! Plus, the portion was very generous. I tried a bite of the Spicy Asian Flower Herbs Chicken, which was noted as being "wok-sauteed in high flame for extreme spice". The diced chicken with red peppers and snap peas had been cooked with Szechuan peppercorns, but, thankfully, none of actual peppercorns were in the dish. So, there was certainly a level of spice, but actually not a ton of heat. It was really tasty, though! The rest of our party also enjoyed their meals, whether they were from Japanese or Chinese cuisine. I would definitely go back to Hanami, and it was great to find a delicious Asian restaurant in that area.
