Disclamer- i am Korean and i know my sushi. I would not joke about these things. Sushi is all relative. Fuki Sushi is no Yasuda, but as a local sushi spot in River Edge that delivers, the sushi was fresh, fish to rice proportion was spot on, and seasoning and consistency of the rice appropriate. Delivery was fast. We will be ordering again! read more

****Bring Cash if you are eating alone!!**** So I have a mixed review about my experience at this sushi place. Overall, the place was nice, quiet and ambient. The food was delicious. I ordered the cucumber and avacado roll with some miso soup and house salad. To drink I had some green tea. This place would have received a 5 star if it wasn't for the following problems: 1) the hostess tried charging me $1 for spicy mayo sauce. Any other sushi place I went to always provided it at no charge 2) there was no sign stating there was a $10 min for debit/credit card usage! I was on lunch and eating by myself. My lunch came to about $8.XX. When I went to pay, the hostess told me that there was a $10 min to use my card. I pointed out that there's no sign stating that. She hands me a take out flyer and says "it's in our takeout menu". I explained that I did not "takeout" my food and ate in the restaurant and that it was illegal to post a min on card usage. She replied "I only work here". Luckily I had went to the barber shop next prior to eating and took out cash at the atm (since they were clear on not having a card machine and it was a cash only place), otherwise I would of been extremely embarrass that I could not pay for my meal unless I purchased additional food to reach over the $10 limit and lastly 3) when I gave her my $20 bill, she only returned a $1 bill and some change. I said "excuse me, I gave you a $20" and she looked at me and said "I put it in as a $10 bill". So the checkout was horrible but the food was great. read more

A quiet, hospitable environment. A refreshing change in comparison to the big national restaurant chains we Americans have become accustomed to. And yes the food is exceptional. It reminded us of the type of mom and pop place you take your family to on a quiet afternoon for lunch or dinner. read more

I'm a self proclaimed good sushi finder. This place is the best in town and all towns surrounding. Their spicy tuna is second to none and the sushi chef is very friendly. I recommend everyone I know when asked. read more

This is our go to place to quench a sushi fix! Always consistent, most important, the sushi is prepared with the freshest ingredients, served promptly and with eye pleasing presentations! Bring your favorite adult beverages as BYO and you may catch a ball game or golf tournament on the large screen TV! Plenty of customers order take out or place catering orders too if you rather enjoy your sushi fix at home or at the next function. read more

The sashimi is very fresh and they have more than just the typical salmon, tuna combination. We also tried sushi plate for 2, just enough variety and amount for us. Business can be very good at times so we have to wait quite long for ordering, drinks and the food. They should hire another waiter. We only see one and she's also answering the phone orders on top of everything else. read more

I don't recommend eating here if you're looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant. It's a small establishment with a casual ambiance. Service was great and waitress was very attentive. I noticed a lot of people came here because it's BYOB. However, even one of the employees was drinking beer behind the sushi bar... Prices seemed steep for the quality of food we received. The cucumber salad is literally a bowl of cucumbers with a small bed of lettuce underneath and dressing on the side. The tempura that comes with the dinner bento is decent. I was disappointed by the Double Yami tempura roll - very heavy with more fried panko than actual fish ratio. The Nabeyaki Udon didn't have egg or shrimp tempura (like its traditionally served). They also charge for green tea, which is usually free at other sushi restaurants I've been to. If you like specialty rolls, this place has a good variety. If you're looking for quality, there are others in the area that are worth the money. read more

If you want real fresh fish, this is the best spot!! Some people complain about the price, but they use the best quality!!!!!! it is definitely worth all of your pennies. MUST Try the Oyabun roll and spicy sashimi salad. The owner young and all staffs are super friendly as well. this place is also BYOB. Just come and try you will never regret it read more

Although on the pricier side, you get what you pay for. Quality food. Consistent too. Their Salmon Yaki is fantastic. Come here every couple of months. If you are in town, you will want to make a point of stopping here. read more

Fuki Sushi exceeded my expectations. The outside of the restaurant had me thinking it wouldn't be the best dining experience, but the interior is actually very cute. The food was amazing. We ordered edamame which was probably the best I've ever had. Then I ordered the Duke roll, which was great. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Fuki Sushi is one of my go-to restaurants. The service is friendly, the food delicious and the price are reasonable. They have a great lunch special and they provide platters when you are expecting a crowd. read more

Great service, friendly staff, consistently good sushi. Fast order processing and easy to park out front, run in snag your order and be on your way. read more

DO NOT EAT THEIR SPICY ROLLS! Worst spicy rolls I have ever had! Their spicy sushi's are just way too spicy! I could not ate the spicy tuna and spicy salmon. This place needs a new chef! I thought it was a mistake with the spice level but I just saw same review. By the way this is my first review on yelp. I am not picky but this was a waste of money. read more

Our favorite place for sushi & the best bulgogi. Service is good and the owner is always pleasant.

I love this place. It has always been good when I come. Staff is super friendly and always willing to help.

The service here is terrible, the food is average at best (sushi is warm) and the prices are very high. One table was occupied, yet we sat for 10 minutes before being given menus while the server did miscellaneous work. The servers have an attitude when you ask questions on the menu and make up the prices if you want to substitute. They wanted to charge $3.00 per roll extra for "Spicy" When we said that was a little excessive, they started speaking in their native language. Very, very rude-Would never patronize this place again. Much better places that are just as good and appreciate your business and like Americans! read more

One of the best sushi places I've ever been to. Perfect amount of rice on the roll. Everything I have gotten has been so delicious so far!

There are much better places in the general area, like Sakura Bana and Kumo in Ridgewood, Mei Sushi in Fair Lawn or Yuki Hana in Little Ferry. (My personal fave is Kumo in Pearl River, NY, but that's a little further.) My boyfriend and I went to Fuki a weekend night, and it was pretty dead-sky in there. Miso soup was overpriced, roll pieces were small, presentation was poor and the icing was that our table was falling apart. I can understand if you live down the street, this would be a decent choice for a weeknight takeout dinner, but for a sit-down date night - I'd suggest fulfilling your appetite for raw fish elsewhere (e.g. see spots mentioned above). read more

This is a small cozy place and the rolls were delicious. It's BYO which is awesome. It's a great find and this will be on the rotation of places to go. read more

Yes, the prices here are high, but you won't get fresher sushi or better service than Fuki. This is our go-to spot. I wanted my first lunch postpartum to be sushi. Unfortunately, I got subpar sushi somewhere near NYU Langone, but found Fuki when I got out of the hospital...Nothing like scratching the postpartum sushi itch with yummy rolls from Fuki! Satisfied that craving but started an addiction! :) read more

Fresh sushi hand made by the chef owner. Lovely casual atmosphere. Delicious miso soup. BYOB. A local gem.

The sushi is fabulous here. The best in Bergen county! Young the sushi chef is a beast this is not Chinese sushi! It's real fresh Japanese sushi and is always fresh. If your giving this less than three stars you don't know better. read more

Great local place. Great food and service. Parking is a problem because of the location. Lucky for me I can walk to fuki sushi.

My girlfriend and I go here about once per week. Obviously we are fans. The sushi is absolutely amazing for Jersey. The salmon, tuna and yellow tail are top notch. Large list of interesting rolls. Service is great. Friendly wait staff and sushi chefs. Bring your own booze. Highly recommended. read more

This sushi restaurant is pretty up there for great sushi in Bergen County. If you're familiar with the food in this area, i'd say it's around the same level as Sakura Bana in Ridgewood. I always get the spicy crunch roll with an eel avocado roll. The sashimi is great as well. The fish is always fresh. Only downside is that it's super crowded on Friday/Saturday nights (which is great for the business!), but it's a hassle when you're ordering takeout or delivery. One time it took my friends and I over an hour to have our food delivered. read more

Hostess is not friendly and neither are the other people that work here. Soy paper cost $2.00 and spicy mayo $1.00. It's a bit of a ripoff. Won't be back. read more

I have a usual sushi place that I go to but recently out of nowhere they were extremely rude to me. I live in the area and decided to try something new. As soon as you walk in you get that warm, homie feeling. The place is quiet and its BYOB. We sat at the bar while watching the chefs work hard to make these exquisite pieces. We had 6 rolls. The BBKing roll along with a few other spicy ones. Delicious isn't even the word. This is by far the BEST sushi I've ever had. They take their time making each roll, as you bite into the sushi you can tell the fish is fresh. They don't take short cuts. I'm beyond impressed. The service is excellent. They make you feel at home. I'm beyond glad I came here. You guys will definitely see me again. Thank you guys and please keep up the great work. read more

Their sushi is fantastic and the chicken teriyaki is to die for. Make sure to try the Gyoza it is so fresh! Don't miss this place.

We ordered carry out. I tried the spicy salmon roll and bulgogi as my entree. The sushi was probably the worst I've had, not fresh and poorly made. Was pretty much falling apart before it hit my chopsticks. The bulgogi was pretty bad too. Much better places nearby than this!! Will not be returning read more

I take-out from here when I'm really in the mood for sushi (which isn't that often anyway) but don't want to go out or drive far. The 2 times I've been here I haven't been disappointed. I do agree with the other reviews that it's a bit on the expensive side (more than what I would like to spend at a casual-local-small-hometown sushi restaurant) but at least it's worth it. read more

My review is -- Never ever trying to order their spicy Ramen!!! Their Ramen is no more than the instant Shin noodle but price it for about 11 bucks. You can buy it in Chinese/ Korean grocery for 3 bucks at most and do it yourself within 5 minutes in the same taste. Sushi roll is also the worst I ever had in this area but not in cheaper price. I wish I never been there. read more

Wow! This place is such a gem!! The sushi and Japanese food is fresh and a true cut above any other place in the area!!! The service is warm and inviting and they definitely put the customer first! The decor is cozy and romantic enough for a date night but casual enough for a family dinner. Highly highly recommend!!! read more

I know five stars seems a bit much for this simple little sushi joint in River Edge. But my wife and I have been eating here for many years and here's the thing: every time we have sushi somewhere else we always say something like, "This is pretty good sushi, but not as good as Fuki". Atmosphere is OK with a nice sushi bar. Service is friendly and fast. But above all, the sushi is excellent. read more

No place like it. Everything is delicious. I've had sushi all over the country and in Japan (albeit in the airport in Tokyo), but this is the best there is. You won't find a carousel of sushi here. You'll get what you pay for, the freshest highest quality fish. The owner, Yong, really takes pride in what he does and he's a traditionalist. He takes care in every cut and slice, he's creative with new rolls that are always incredible. Staff is always friendly and attentive. This place is the "cheers" of sushi restaurants, everybody knows your name. This place is the reason I fell in love with sushi and I could eat here every day of the week! read more

This place is really great! Went with my girlfriend for dinner, and the sushi was excellent. Had the Philly rolls, Rainbow rolls, and East Shogun rolls (very spicy, be careful, lol). Also had the Chutoro sashimi and mackerel. Very tasty! Wasn't crazy about the Udon, so stick to the sushi. Otherwise, great place! read more
