Best little sushi place in Collierville. The only negative thing I have to say about about it s that they are often painfully slow. But if you know that going in, and aren't in a hurry, you will enjoy this place. The sushi here is very, very good. The fish is fresh and and high quality, and they offer some very creative rolls that I just love. Especially the Rock and Roll. Now it's a cooked roll, so if you're a purist, you might scoff a bit. Interesting set up for COVID. No dine in at all and a booth like door system to pick up food. Seems to keep contact to a minimum though , so that is good. All that aside, food is still good quality. Fuji Cafe is not only for your typical sushi or tempura, it also has great nabes or nabeyakis (Japanese soups), something that I often crave a lot. Be sure to ask for "Nanami Togarashi" (Spicy Powder), so you can add a spicy flavor to your nabe. It has the best sushis that I have seen so far in Memphis, they are abundant, big and with a lot more meat than many other places. The same can be said of the other kind of dishes, the tempuras, donburis, and specially the nabeyakis, all of them are delicious. The service is great and it seems that the waitresses have photographic memory, they remember what you asked for before and your preferences... months ago ! Something I don't precisely see often. The ambiance is quiet and very pleasant. The only thing I don't like is that they close from 2:30 to 4:00 PM. I wonder, why only Japanese restaurants do this ? Amazing place for some quick sushi :) me and my sister enjoy going here often to grab some sushi and unwind from our week. The environment is nice although the ringtone version of songs is odd I kind of like it. I highly recommend the rock and roll roll, and crunchy shrimp! And they have a cool Japanese soda called Ramune which tastes amazing and is fun to open only reason I gave it 4 stars over 5 is because the quality of the meat isn't the best but it is cheap sushi. read more

If you live in Collierville and are in the mood for sushi, this is the place to go! It has a cozy, peaceful atmosphere. The whole place is clean as a pin, nicely decorated and pretty piano music plays in the background. The volume of neighbors' conversations is fairly low. The wait staff is very friendly and polite, and they give complimentary soup and a warm towel (haven't seen this in other Japanese places, but it's nice still). Although I've only tried one kind of roll (the Snow Mountain roll) so far, it is a lot better than what you would find elsewhere in the area. I highly recommend it! Everything else was good too, but nothing really unique. It is a little pricey, but worth the quality. And to be honest, I personally wouldn't trust sushi that's too low-priced... Back in the day, before Collierville erupted into the everyday suburbia that it is now, Fuji was the only place to grab some sushi. For those of us FedExers that were sent out to work at the World Tech Center, it was pretty much Fuji, Bogey's, or Huey's for restaurants (not to mention the old stand bys on the square). So with that said, Fuji was okay back in the day. You got a craving for some yellow tail nigiri or a soft shell crab roll, then you went to Fuiji and it was fine. It hit the spot and was acceptable. Off the regular menu, the gyoza dumplings are very good and the oshitashi was very tasty. Every meal comes with a complimentary serving of Miso soup - which is okay, but not the best in Memphis. Several friends have had the yakisoba and the udon noodles and said that they were fine. In past years, the Fuji has seen some increased competition with both Osaka, Sekisui, Stix, and Bangkok Alley entering the market. Unfortunately, Fuji has not kept up in terms of menu choices and new sushi selections. Also - after eating at the Sekisui in collierville, you really see what a difference fresh and GOOD seafood makes to the dishes. The waitresses at Fuji are always very nice and I've never had a problem with needing a refill or requesting special chopsticks for my son. read more

Probably one of the best sushi places in Shelby county! Big portion, very fresh ingredients, and excellent combinations of ingredients on the sushi rolls. If you order realize that even the small rolls can feed an army. I only ordered 2 rolls and 2 nigiri for lunch, it was so much I had to share with my friend. Very good food. Definitely one of my favorite sushi places. The rice is always prepared to perfection, and it's always just the right temperature. Also, the fish is always some of the freshest fish I've had. I don't eat in often, but when I have it has been great. The only thing I really have to say is that I'd much rather they put the roe on top of the roll rather than inside of it. And watch how much cucumber you put in the California roll. Just a preference, but I'm sure most people would like a good ratio of each item in their roll. read more

The atmosphere is what sets this place apart from other asian/japanese restraunts. As soon as you walk in and are sat down you are given a hot towel which is so refreshing. You also get complimentary miso soup and you can tell it's fresh. The sushi is pretty good but i'm not a fan of their tampura batter, it seems too thick and masks the veggies or meat inside. My first visit (10/13/16) was awesome! The food was great, the servers were nice, friendly, and attentive, and the service was really fast. I had the "Rock n Roll" and would have to say it is one of the best sushi I have ever had. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. The atmosphere was really quiet and relaxed. I do not like loud restaurants. Also, the hot towels were a welcome addition. I just wish they would bring them after handling the menus. More restaurants would do well to have such hot towels, especially now that the season for dreadful diseases is almost here. You never really know what all you have touched before eating. In addition, the cup of miso up front was nice to nibble on while we waited for the sushi. It was not salty and had the right amount of tofu and seaweed. My only suggestion to the owners/management would be to have Japanese music playing. I did not care for whatever that was playing. It was some kind of hip-hop garbage masquerading as music. I am just glad it was not very loud. But yes, I will go back (and soon at that), and I will recommend Fuji Cafe to everyone who likes sushi. read more

Horrible service! I stopped by based on a friend recommendation that the sushi is great. I walked in to a please wait to be seated sign. The kind lady sitting at the front of the restaurant told me there was not a host or hostess but they check frequently. Five minutes later there are 4 of us at the door. The server asks me to wait while he assists the two parties that came in after me. It's 15-20 min before we are seated. He takes out beverage order but not the sushi order. We are walked past 5 times between the two servers on the floor. I ask to at least put in out sushi order and am told the other server will take my order. 30 minutes into this experience we are without beverages or our order being taken. At this point I packed up my child and left she is 3 and said this is taking forever. That sushi looked great too bad it's such a challenge to enjoy it. read more
