We usually have a good experience and particularly enjoy their beef stroganoff but this time the noodles were mushy and overcooked with very little beef. The service was extremely slow but it looked like there was only one waitress for a large section. The bread is usually very tasty but this time it was hard and felt like it was reheated. read more

I've been here quite a few times over the years but after tonight's experience I will never be back. I work as a server so I am often critical of other servers but tonight was just ridiculous. The service was awful and our waitress was so rude and acted annoyed by any simple requests we made. So after me and bubba were DENIED at the sushi place across the street (we walked in at 2:35- they stop letting people in at 2:30- no pity for the lady with a baby) and it was a bit dark in there and of course with my kid who decided to double as a wild child they sat us in the back closest to the restroom hee hee. So I had a dream about tortellini the other day (my mom can testify to that because when I told her she called me a weirdo) and aaaaaaaaaaaaaa they had tortellini. So i ordered the tortellini with shrimp and a caesar salad. And ok so maybe the wild child encouraged the kitchen to get my food to me in a timely manner because DAAAANN I had my food pretty fast. and it was G-O-O-D. totally yummy. Would order it again, and again and again. So the whole time we were there and bubba was being a butthead you know I would periodically apologize the the ladies at the 2 tables near us. I had the veggie pasta the other night. It was excellent. However, the primer vegetable was brussel sprouts, this makes no sense to me, a winter vegetable that has been selling at a higher price lately. Lots of vegetables around locally and local menus should reflect what is in season here NOW! I am not vegetarian but eat vegetarian often and appreciate restaurants that have veggie choices. I go to the Bay Area often and restaurants there get it about seasonal fruits and veggies. Fugazzis isn't only restaurant guilty of this locally. I do see the VP owner at local Farmers Markets often their menu reflects it. Tulare County restaurants need to learn how to source locally and not just accept the whatever delivery. We have been to Fugazzi's many times. It is awesome. The baked garlic app and spinach dip are excellent. Unfortunately the service is bad. Last night, not for the first time, the staff was too busy talking to each other to allow us to order anything after our first app. We'll probably be back, but be ready for spoiled children will likely be your servers. read more

i used to love this place. but i'm not sure what is going on. (i will say that the bar or going there for a drink is great. but the food. NO.) my guy and i have been here several times this past year hoping for the old fugazzis and it has only a disappointment each time. we've decided we are done trying. :( each of us has tried different things, thinking we'd get something worth going back for. the wraps are all rice. they used to actually have a good proportion of protein/veggies to rice, but it's seems like it's all rice now. and they fall apart from the get go. the sandwiches are not good: the not-your mama's grilled cheese sandwich sounds like it should be delish. it's not. it's ALL BREAD. and the bread was stale. i only wish it would have been my mama's grilled cheese. it would have been so much better. the california bistro steak had to have been reheated meat. you know the taste of reheated meat?! not good. portobello mushroom sandwich was meh. very oily, bread fell apart while eating. southwestern chicken flatbread sandwich was disappointing. it was on a flatbread that, i swear to you was exactly like the orowheat sandwich thins you can buy at savemart. and the bread was cold. the cilantro lime chicken was in pieces. it was not a chicken breast and it was not the consistency of a chicken salad sandwich. there was no way that the food that was in the sandwich could stay in the bun. the corn was falling out - it was weird. it should not have been a sandwich. The pastas have lost all the taste that they used to have. bland. watered down sauce. VERY STINGY on the protein (if your choice comes with it). salmon is very fishy tasting, very light in color. so very sad. i used to love this place!! what happened??? read more

Went there for my Daughter's 24th birthday, place was very busy so I thought the food would be great. The service was very slow, but it was Valentines weekend so I figured they must be busier than normal. The bread and dipping sauce was very good. My Daughter and I ordered the pizza. She got the spinach and feta cheese i ordered the combination. they seemed to be frozen pizza's, at least mine was edible, my daughters was awful! My wife had fettuccine spinach with blackened chicken. It was good not great. My son-in-law had the steak sandwich and he said it was very good. We also tried the sweet potato fries and they were good but we did not care for the sauce that was provided. The menu is pretty extensive so maybe we just ordered the wrong things, but we were very disappointed after reading all the good reviews. read more

The Tacos at Taco Tuesday are delicious! I got two salmon tacos, two shrimp tacos and a margarita for under $15. Staff is friendly but seating in the bar area can get a bit crowded during happy hour which is to be expected. The ambiance is so nice that I don't mind the close quarters. read more

"Do you have a reservation?", he asked....and within seconds I knew what Vivian in the movie Pretty Woman experienced on Rodeo Drive in the early 90's. Only this wasn't Beverly Hills, it was downtown Visalia, at a 3 star (at best) restaurant on a Friday night), and the place was more than half empty. Apparently 34 year old Produce Brokers babysitting their friends teenage son isn't "good enough" for this place. When I scoffed at the idea of a reservation, the host led us to a back corner of the very back room. Suddenly I remembered why I stopped going to this place. Mediocre food, and very very poor service...at least on this night. Decided to go to Tommy's instead...a legitimate 4 star restaurant where we were treated with the decency a paying customer deserves. read more

I love this place, I live in the Bay area and always come here whenever I am here for business. It is by far the hippest place in Visalia and has hands down the best food. I love the Apple Pecan Salad and the filet better than most steakhouses, really. Great staff and great wine list too. Very nice decor/atmosphere. I highly recommend this spot. read more

My husband and I just moved into town a couple months ago, we have two children under the age of two and haven't had a chance to get out and enjoy each others company for quite awhile so when the opportunity came we jumped at it. Made sure our daughter was in bed, our son was fed and in the good hands of my parents and then we headed out for a late dinner... We arrived and were VERY confused as to where we were supposed to stand to get seated as there was no one to greet us, We wandered down to the end of the restaurant where in the corner I noticed a "Please wait to be seated" sign and assumed that that was where we were to stay. After standing there awkwardly for a good 10-15 mins I finally got the attention of a waiter that was rushing by. He informed us that "There is a girl up front, go up there" as he kept rushing past us. We then walked back to the front door and again stood VERY awkwardly for ANOTHER 15-20 minutes without ANYONE greeting us. Finally a group of about 6 came in behind us and about 10 minutes after they came in the BARTENDER came up and asked if we had been helped yet and then took us to a seat by the kitchen/walk way to bathroom. Our waitress came out and apologized to us for having to wait for so long and then promised to do her best to make it up to us. Service was still very slow and the seating was horrible as the constant traffic pushing past us was hard to concentrate on each other. The waitress ended up disappearing on us and leaving another server to take care of our check, she honestly looked like she was high. My pasta was way too salty (it seriously was like eating mouthfuls of salt) and later that night I was awoken to my husband vomiting up his halibut. It took a lot for us to be able to get out on a date (havent been on one since 3/2011) and the fact that we had to endure such service and bad food really really made me want to cry! read more

Ignore the few negative reviews. The only thing negative I can say is that the restaurant is in Visalia, with additional restaurants in Tulare and Clovis, rather than in Los Angeles where I'd like it to be. My wife and I just visited Visalia this weekend so that we could see the Visalia Rawhides. We went "downtown" to look for a nice place to eat an early dinner before the game and came across Fugazzi's and were intrigued by the menu- a mix of pastas and California fusion cuisine (as I would call it). We were pleased from the moment we entered. We were promptly greeted by a very polite and welcoming hostess and seated at a very comfortable booth. The interior is not what I expected from Visalia- very contemporary and I think exaggerated on purpose to contrast with an outsider's image of Visalia. I ordered the steak wrap and my wife had a small salad and a scallop appetizer. First of all the dinners themselves were delicious. The portions were actually quite big and the prices were extremely reasonable. Our waitress was very attentive and very friendly, and based on the smiles I saw at surrounding tables I am sure everyone else felt the same. bread was served before our main course arrived and the bread itself and the pesto sauce were both delicious. All in all my wife and I were extremely pleased by our meals and the entire experience. If I am every in Visalia again for the night I will be eating dinner ar Fugazzi's on Main Street. read more

I am a very passive person. I'm the last person who would ever bother to say something but my experience here was absolutely atrocious. My server was Grace, I only know this because it says her name on my receipt. She didn't bother to ask me what I wanted to drink but at least she brought me water. When bringing my food, she slammed the plate on my table. Throughout my dining time, she didn't check on me once. I was observing her and her mannerisms with other clients, I noticed a great difference. Naturally this bothered me because I was being awfully nice and patient even after each mistake she made. When I approached the owner to tell her what was happening to prevent it from happening again to another customer, she was very dismissive. She proceeded to saying how this was her best server and she's never received a complaint. She went on to trying to give reasons as to why she might have been acting as she did. One reason being "She was probably busy", I don't see how being busy leads to being rude and almost discriminate to only one table. Anyway, never again will I come to this restaurant.... I was really disappointed because I wanted to like it but nothing was right. read more

I have always experienced exceptional service at this restaurant, and never been disappointed. Throughout the years I have done a lot of traveling and learned that although great service should be a given in the competitive restaurant industry, it is not. Far too many times I've experienced the less than mediocre service and or food, while paying high dollar. I have been satisfied each and every visit at the Tulare Fuggazis. My drink of choice is always just the way I ask for it and the staff are all very friendly & quick to respond, even at their busiest of times. I really appreciate and think it's important to give a special thank you to the manager, Ray. His attention to all customers is amazing and just something that you unfortunately do not see much of anymore. We often joke with him and ask if he ever even leaves the place, because he is always there and always smiling. Also, there has not been one time that he has not come to our table and the surrounding to ask how everything is tasting... that is the type of management that every place needs around here. At my most recent visit, I let Ray know of a few specific employees that I wanted special recognition to, one was the bartender (can't remember his name -works most evenings), the waitress Liz, and another gentleman that comes around to check on drinks during their busy times. I hope Fuggazis continues to fulfill my high expectations as I recommend all family and friends there. So far, for the past couple years it's my go to. read more

I love going here to eat the food is really good! I chose to have fugazzis cater my wedding because they have such a great reputation. Well from a guest point of view they did great with serving the food on time and putting on a good show but why they deserve a 2 is because I got married at a family members private residence. The employees were drinking our alcohol that we paid for ourselves while working at my wedding, they failed to help clean until we asked at the end of the evening , broke decor while cleaning up , they threw leftover coffee and drinks on the driveway while cleaning up, left the garage where they prepared the meals a disaster. I reserved 12 extra meals with Mike the owner because I wanted to make sure to have leftovers for the next day so I made sure when planning out the amount of people to feed to add extra 12 plates. My father in law walked in and saw the 12 plates boxed up for us then it was witnessed the employees eating our 12 meals I paid for. We only received 1 plate of leftovers. I was extremely disappointed because fugazzis employees treated my family's residence with disrespect and when I confronted Mike he said he wanted to apologize to my uncle for the way they treated his home then quote on quote told me "I'm glad you're telling me this because all of this will only make us bigger and better for Victorian Gardens." Let alone no money was refunded. read more
