I've been going to Zen since they opened. Tony and Tracy are great people. I live in Kentucky now but every time we come back to visit family, we have to head to Zen for some Salt & Pepper fish, Mandarin Chicken (Juany's way - chicken, peanuts and zucchini only) and of course Sizzling Rice Soup (tell them no corn starch). It's been a family tradition. Many times we have had 20+ family members at the table. I look forward to Zen every time we go to Visalia. read more

Chinese food for take out or dine in located in Visalia Marketplace near to other eateries like Butter + Milk, Pizza Factory, etc. The service was very attentive and fast. The dining area was clean and quaint. The prices are affordable and the food is good. They do not have a liquor license so no beer or wine sold. The General Chicken was good but no kick at all. Generally it has a little spice. The chicken chow mein was flavorful and chicken generous. The egg rolls were crispy and not greasy like some other spots in town. Food is cooked at time of order so hot and very fresh! NO "same sauce" on every dish, each with own distinct flavors. Staff is warm and curteous, very friendly! Simple decor, nice natural light with lots of windows, great for large groups. Try the Mongolian Beef so tasty! read more

Came here for lunch with some coworkers. That staff were friendly and very attentive. There were no inconvenient waiting periods for any part of our meal. They were happy to make substitutions to our orders which made me think they were all made fresh. Nice! The food was good, but not life changing. I got the szechuan chicken lunch special and enjoyed it. It was a very substantial serving size. Probably more than I should eat in one sitting, but who wants left overs with hours before you'll be home... anyway, yeah I may update my review once I try more menu items. Dry and utterly flavorless. The "shrimp" is all breading. Only place to get delicious chinese food is in San Francisco's Chinatown.

Heard about this place from a coworker. Have ate there twice this week. Got beef noodle soup the first time and it was so good and hot. The second time, I got the sweet & sour chicken, fried shrimp appetizer and my partner got #1 dinner which has orange chicken, chicken & broccoli and double rice.
