We have been coming here for years. This place has its ups and downs like all mom and pop shops. I have to say I was sad to see they no longer offer dim sum but we still come here for their 肉絲炆米。My husband from HK said it's one of the few restaurants that meet his standard. It's not on the menu, but when we asked they prepared for us. Also we always ask what fresh green vegetables they have for the day. We like to have it cooked with minced garlic, less oil and salt, and they always accommodate that. We also like to have their fresh fish with soy sauce that goes so well with a bowl of rice. Came with a group for lunch. We had a nice private room. The staff were very friendly and you can see this is very much a family run small business which I love to support. We had their signature lobster yee mien noodles. Amazing presentation, and lobster was very fresh. Overall could have used a bit more seasoning but I guess i probably shouldn't be eating too much salt anyways. The lobster came with a lobster congee which was absolutely delicious. We had a bunch of other dishes such as honey walnut prawns, baby bok choy served in a soup base, tofu and mushrooms, and a steamed cod fish which was perfectly cooked. The owners came by to greet us and threw in complimentary house soup as well as steamed red bean paste dessert buns. I would definitely some back to try some of their other seafood dishes. Came here on a weekend with family and discovered they no longer serve dim sum. I wanted to support this local business as there was only one other occupied table. We were early so I thought more people would trickle in as noon approached but it remained pretty dead for most of the lunch hour with maybe one other group of diners that arrived after us. This restaurant is known for their lobster noodles and king crab. Didn't feel like splurging too much for lunch so we opted for the lobster noodles. It wasn't bad but didn't blow my socks off either. The noodles, I felt were on the soggy side and overcooked. I like my noodles al dente. The Peking duck left my mom disappointed. She's a pretty good cook so having higher standards, she may be harsher with criticism than most, but this time I agree with her. The Hong Kong version of roast duck may not be as fancy as Peking duck from Beijing but I expect it to be at least minimally roasted. Mom took one bite and said it tasted like boiled or steamed duck that was thrown in a fryer to make the skin crispy after being boiled. The meat was not the consistency of roast duck and the skin was too dry and wrinkled. Now for someone who isn't a good cook, I doubt they would tell the difference. One saving grace is the waitress was very friendly and courteous. This appears to be a family run restaurant. I cannot count the number of times I have tried coming here and they are closed. Even when their door is open and the lights are on they say they are closed. The soup was below a thick layer of grease and had a very sweet taste, which was far from the usual taste of Hot and Sour soup. My wife called them right away and their only response was "sorry". Wanted to come here cause we were craving dim sum and a friend of mine told me this place was good, but that was a long time ago. We finally went inside during lunch time and I noticed we were the only ones there. First thing right off the bat, my boyfriend didn't like the smell of this place, but I told him to just give it a try. The waiter first serves us the baked goods: baked bbq pork bun, baked egg custard bun, baked yam bun, bbq pork puff, almond taro puff, and baked egg custard. We got the baked BBQ pork bun. (If you look at the menu you can see it has the usual shiny finish on top which usually makes it sweet, but the texture of this was a matte finish and crunchy on the outside. Which we both thought it was actually better than the original flavor) He then gives us the menu and we ended up ordering: BBQ pork rice noodle roll, seafood dumpling, shrimp dumpling "har gau", BBQ pork bun, fried taro dumpling with minced meat, Stuffed mushroom with minced shrimp, and the sticky rice in lotus leaf. There was nothing special about the seafood dumpling or har gau. I was disappointed in the fried taro dumpling with minced meat because it actually didn't even taste good. Also when I took a bite of it to check what's inside... it actually grossed me out and explained why it didn't taste good, but it was super crunchy I'll give it that. The stuffed mushroom with minced shrimp was lacking flavor. The reason why I got it was because of the picture in the menu looked good, but it didn't look anything like the picture. The biggest disappointment for me though is the sticky rice in lotus leaf.. this is always my favorite thing to get at any dim sum place, but this also had that gross taste and feeling that I got when I took a bite of the fried taro dumpling =( I was so sad. Today, the first time i took my son there to eat Dimsum. We ordered alot of foods and started earing. My son took a soy source bottle and put on his dish. He noticed that the flies were in his dish then we did chexk our diahes ee found the same. We called the restaurant manager up and told him, he swapped another bottle and we dis check it again. There were more flies in the soy source again. Then the manager caled a lady i met her many time before and i believed she is the owner of the restaurant. She came to us and said oh, there are small food flies, no problem you can continue to eat. At this point could not continue since the iwner of the restaurant did you not how bad the flies are, they could fly in from the toilet or trash bin outside but she said no problem. It broke my heart that my favorite restaurant turned out to be an unhealth and dirty but people really don't care about it. I will not go back or recommend my family and friends to go there to eat. I had a craving for Dim Sum today, so I made a trip here. I was seated right away -- it wasn't the weekend so no need to battle the crowds. Today the Dim Sum was taking longer than usual to come out, so the waiter recommended that I order ahead. So I did. Most of the food came out soon thereafter. They were hot and yummy. For four adults and six kids (kids had pizza from party before) we told the waiter it's really four adults eating, yet he tried to push a $250 lobster and a $32 a pound fish (fish was about two pounds) even though we already had seven other dishes. But once you're able to navigate around this, the good is really good. We had a 6 pound geoduck two style sashimi and soup and it was very flavorful and didn't taste the MSG. The quality and quantity was there. In fact, there wasn't a single dish that was bad. Even the egg white and dried scallop fried rice had the right amount of oil. Our waiter was funny and engaging with us. My parents exchanged stories with him about immigrating to the US and working in the restaurant industry... c'est la vie! Firstly, this place is BYOB! It may have been a Chinese thing for us, but my Dad brought a bottle and there were no corkage feed. A plus in my books! Our server helped to convince us to order some of the special items off the menu for our Christmas dinner. We ended up ordering a plate of Chinese spinach, Beef Tenderloin, and a massive Australian Lobster ($190!!!!). Now, my family is by no means well off, so I was shocked that they had decided to go with such an extravagant set. I can't deny though that everything was great! The tenderloin was super juicy and seasoned to perfection. Our lobster was also delicious- cooked in scallions and ginger, and with hefty pieces at that. The meal concluded with some chilled grass jelly dessert. During our meal, our waiter was attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Even though we were the only customers at the time, it still felt nice to get such personalized service. Reviewers have also mentioned a dog roaming around on occasion, and it's true. Sorry to say it but this place was utterly disappointing. I ordered takeout online and paid at pickup. Of course prices are going up these days but I found that out when it was time to get the food. The employee told me they haven't updated the website and next time she'll call to advise the cost. It wasn't a big deal but she had me thinking they hadn't even processed my order. To which she did ask me to wait 10 more minutes. Unfortunately there will not be a next time. My honey walnut shrimp looked dinky. Us grown-ups meanwhile, started with egg flower soup, pea greens, beef chow fun, splurged on King Crab 3 ways, peking duck, lobster, noodles, rice, red wine, and tea. They provided plates/utensils for birthday cakes we brought to serve after dinner. Probably would have been interested in calamari or some kind of BBQ pork dish as well. We have been going to Fu Lam Moon for over 14 years. I don't recommend the Dim Sum but the Cantonese Seafood is what we usually come for. As you walk in there are fish tanks stacked on fish tanks filled with crabs, shrimp and fish. Because you can see your seafood swimming in the tanks you know it's fresh. There is a menu board with the seafood with the price per pound. It's not cheap but in the East Bay this is one of the better places for fresh Cantonese style seafood. I have had their dim sum and it's only OK and the lunch service is not as good as the dinner service. We usually order a fish and a crab. They serve a roasted beef rib (see pic) which is good. On the menu is also Peking Duck (pic). You can order a larger fish and have it cooked 3 ways. Giant clam can be served 2 ways, sashimi and soup. As usual the food were delicious and all my guests have complimented on the lobsters noodles and their signature beef ribs were so fresh and yummy. This duck was very fatty, and although it had good flavor, the skin wasn't very crispy. I don't know if I would order this again. The worst part about eating here later on a Saturday night is that they were out of a lot of dishes. We tried getting BBQ pork, their special beef rib dish, and stuffed mushrooms, but they were out of all those dishes. My other complaint was that one of their servers kept trying to sell us on the freshwater shrimp they had in the tank. They said they would discount the price, and that it was a good deal, etc. etc. We ended up not ordering it, and when we walked out of the restaurant and saw the shrimp in the tank again, we realized why- half of the shrimp were belly up and barely alive! There's nothing more annoying than servers trying to sell you the crap inventory. They had a lot of servers working that night, but they don't really come to check up on you unless you flag them down. Overall, I enjoyed most of the dishes I had, and will probably come back at some point. Hopefully they will not be out of a bunch of dishes the next time! A pretty classic dim sum place. Came on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30pm. Parking was not a problem. Still pretty crowded in the restaurant. We waited maybe 20 min for a table. Located in an older complex in Fremont. The restaurant building is a bit older too. read more

We're basically regulars here. The owners know us because we come here so often, so service is never a problem and they're always friendly. Mostly, we come here for dim sum because the small+medium+large plates are all the same price (a little over $2). There's decent variety and the food is consistent, so I like eating here. It gets pretty busy later on in the day (aka line out the door), so I'd really recommend going early if you want dim sum. That way, the food comes out fresh and they have time to serve you/don't forget about your existence and such. We came here at 10:30 this morning and it was great. :O Dinner here is pretty nice as well. I don't know if they still have the late-night half-off certain entrees special, but I loved that thing like no other. Good Chinese food past 10 p.m. for $3? Count me in. ;_; I miss the lemon chicken. I'm not sure if they have it anymore though, because my parents never bring up going there at night anymore. :[ boooo. read more
