This is a review of the bakery. I have always gone here for cakes for special occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, pregnancy cravings, and even my baby shower cake was made here. I was always in awe of how beautiful the cakes came out and they have always been delicious. I decided I wanted to order my daughter's 2nd Birthday party cake here. I ordered 2 cakes. Both for different pickup dates. The first cake was for yesterday 7/28/17 with a pickup time of 12pm and the other is for tomorrow 7/30/17 with a pickup time of 2pm. I got to the bakery yesterday after I had done some shopping to pick up the cake at 11:40am and it hadn't even been started to be decorated yet:/ In my opinion the cakes should be made that morning and ready at least a half hour before pick up time in case the customer is early. The woman who "helped" me asked if I was here to pick up a cake and I said Yes. She then looked at me with a rude demeanor and asked "is it the cars cake?" I responded yes it is and she gave me an even dirtier look and said "it isn't even ready yet, give me a few minutes" AND turned her back and walked away! I couldn't even ask her how long it would take! I went walking around the store because I felt if I was there waiting she would rush and the cake wouldn't be what I wanted but when I got it, it still wasn't what I wanted and it looked like it was made in a rush. I requested the cars movie cake but with some pink because my daughter is very girly but she loves the movie cars. The cake looks like she just followed the picture and slobbeb some pink and purple here and there which is really disappointing. I hope the cake we pick up tomorrow isn't so generic and not thought out with creativity. The cake was delicious but I am not happy with the customer service in the bakery. I believe if I am paying any amount of money for a service I should be treated with respect no matter what. Hopefully tomorrow will be better but I'm not expecting it based off my experience yesterday. read more

Fry's had a great made fresh sandwich bar. Enjoyed a sandwich there last week. Went back today, and it is GONE. Very very disappointing. We just left to go shop elsewhere. Time to try another store. read more

Excellent selection of quality foods. They have a fantastic deli, a sushi bar, and a mark down bin for fruits and vegetables that's still good for purchase. They are always marking down bananas so if you make smoothies, be sure to stock up on the bananas they mark down. My only complaint is the Starbucks manager refuses to draw my quad espresso long shots. She argues with me and she won't make my shots long giving some excuse and says she's an expert running her own coffee shop for years. She's the reason why I go to the Starbucks at Safeway down the street. I'm still giving them 5 stars since they excel in all other areas. Other than that, the rest of the store personnel are fantastic and friendly. They are very helpful. They will help you find what you're looking for. The front end management is attentive and the workers are polite. They have a pharmacy and they too are very helpful. The people they put in produce are super friendly. Stop by and say hi next time your in the neighborhood. read more

Whole Foods quality and selection meets Safeway general selection and price. While visiting my aunt, she recommended that I visit Frys, specifically for prosciutto and mortadella. Apparently, the big-name grocery store down the street doesn't carry or even know what mortadella is... I was completely blown away by their deli department. The selection of means from Boar's Head was so extensive. The butchers were also very educated in their products and were able to make solid, honest recommendations. One thing I'm always particular about is how thinly sliced my mortadella is. The thinner the better. When the butcher asked how I wanted it sliced, he did NOT disappoint. I'm pretty sure the mortadella was almost as thin as a regular piece of paper. Then, to add his own icing to the cake in the best way possible, he layered the prosciutto with plastic between the slices. A true butcher knows that they should do this, and he did it without me asking! Overall, there seemed to be an extensive selection of just about anything you would ever need. Produce was fresh and consistently stocked. I was a little off my game in finding some items since I'm not used to their layout and product, but there were 2+ staff in the vicinity that were able to point me in the right direction. The aisle signage wasn't as detailed as I'm used to, but not at all misleading either. There is definitely a lot of organization in the layout and items were laid out in order. The checkout experience was like none other I've ever had. On 4/27/19, my clerk was Gabrielle. She and her bagging partner ran and checked me out so fast, I was barely able to pull my wallet out before they were done! It was amazing! This Frys location runs like a very fine-tuned machine, mixed with class and impeccable customer service. It's no wonder they are always so busy. I wish there was one closer to us! read more

The last 3 times we have bought ice cream, popsicles and ice cream bars at this Store they have all been previously melted and refrozen... I don't know if they are letting the frozen stuff sit on floor before stocking or what... their freezer appears to be working. Literally the ice cream bars frozen flat and refroze.. it is not happening on my end I assure you. After three attempts , I will just buy elsewhere. P.S.... when I buy ice cream at the other local stores, not a problem ... Frys was just more convenient... no more. read more

With everything going on in the country and our state of Arizona dealing with this COVID-19 Virus, it's amazing how Frys thinks so little of their customers. First, Frys has made a lot of money though the time of this lockdown. They are the ONLY store to not have anti-bacterial wipes at the entrance of the store. Bashas, Albertsons and Safeway all have them for their customers. Frys pays one of their employees to supposedly clean the carts as they come into the store. I have watched this process be completed. It's somewhat a joke!!! Very little effort is put in to complete the process. We know there is a cost associated with providing the wipes to the customer. Frys is a major store and if a small chain like Bashas thinks enough of their customers and can afford them then why can't Frys? Is it because of management worrying about a bonus? Do the right thing people.... This is a senior citizen community and supposedly we are the most vulnerable group at this time. Maybe people need to start voting with their feet and support the stores that support their customers. Would love to have someone try justify this to me...... If I where in management, I would have reached out to try an resolved this issue by now. Oh well.... read more

I think if a business is going to change their hours they should put up a sign stating that not just tell you after you bother to show up!!!

I did enjoy their fountain but for two years now it has not been on in the wintertime. With all the shoppers that spent their dollars there why they cannot put a little back into the community and run it is a question I have. read more

My husband went into the store, to gets more eggs this morning, and asked for a partial refund. the two women he talked to were very rude, and tried to embarrass him in front of others. There is no reason they should have acted like that, he got his refund, But they made him feel like a liar. I wish he would have gotten their names, they should NOT be allowed in customer service! read more

This company dishes out the worst bullshit I have ever seen. Their fuel point system is false. They called my wife a liar over the phone when the cashier said we got 4x the points and the receipt said the same 4x's the points for a gift card purchase. Gorgeous new store. Wide Isles, salad bar, sushi bar, Starbucks, deli. A large variety of different brands. Many brands of like items. The marketplace items, dishes, kitchen appliances, cookware are a welcome addition. It is possible to get all shopping done at one store. The staff is upbeat, professional and helpful. I have shopped there over a dozen times and have always had a positive experience. There are many promotional sale items. It offers outside seating overlooking the golf course if you want to have coffee or lunch with a beautiful view. It offers a Redbox outside. read more

Used to Love Fry's. Store is huge! They have everything. Best Steaks of any of the supermarkets. Also, customer service is good Susie always seems like she has the right answer to my questions. We buy at Fry's grocery because we can find most of what we need carried here. Employees are pleasant, store is clean and roomy for shopping. The drive-up pharmacy is convenient, and the parking lot provides adequate parking on most days. read more

The Manager in this Starbucks store is horrible at Frys on R H Johnson in Sun City West. She snaps at you if you ask a question and gives you a sarcastic response like you're being demanding and she is losing patience. I asked for a tall coffee instead of a cafe Americano this morning as the young man seem to have a problem making the Americano. The Manager said "HE"S FINE"!! SO YOU WANT A REPLACEMENT BECAUSE YOU THINK HE"S HAVING A PROBLEM??? HAVE A GOOD DAY!! She then shook her head for several seconds like I was an idiot!!! Starbucks should really take a look at this store. It's frequented mostly with retirement regulars so if you're not in that clique, and a bit younger and maybe faster, I really think these older ladies working here have an issue! This person is just plain unprofessional and rude and I have never had this kind of an attitude at a Starbucks in the past. I will be contacting Starbucks corporate about this as well. read more

If only I'd had more time...I did not want to leave this store! What a great grocery store! I'm in town visiting my Mom with my little munchkin so we were in a bit of a rush but if I'd had my way (or had left the little one at home) I would've hung out here for quite awhile. The store is huge, beautifully laid out and just fancy and sparkly. They're remodeling the Ralph's by my house but it'll never compare to this beauty! I'm a resident of Sun City West and I like to support my community businesses in the area, however the last two times I've had to bag my own groceries without any help. I do not shop Winco because I do not care for bagging. What really surprises me is the cashier doesn't seem to care. Where is Manager of the store? Do you care what your customers have to say regarding the store. Next time I shop I am going to the bar and have a beer and wait for my groceries to be bagged. read more

I have always been happy with the pharmacy at this Fry's. However I am extremely concerned that the pharmacy is discouraging individuals from getting their third Covid Booster. My mother, who has rhematoid arthritis (autoimmune), my husband who is a cancer survivor & recently got a new diagnosis of Leukemia, I have psoriatic arthritis, diabetes and CVID immune compromised) were sent away. Although I get my insulin from Fry's we were told we "needed a note from our doctors). We contacted our doctors who specified our condition and gave a diagnosis code. My husband's doctor specifically stated that he needed the vaccine. In the meantime, all of our doctors said that of all their patients who have got the vaccine, none of them have been turned away and none needed a note. We were told to go to another pharmacy. My husband brought his note and was still turned away even though the doctor had said he needed it! We all went to Walgreens and received our needed third booster without difficulty. read more

Great food selection. The fruits and veggies are fresh. Good sales on some items. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Avoid a cashier named June if you can. She is usually too busy talking to other workers, off getting candy, or just inattentive. The other cashiers actually look at their customers and appear friendly. read more

This is where the old SunDome used to be in Sun City West. Let me preface this by saying I hate to share this secret little gem because I suppose I'm a little greedy and I want to keep it all to myself, lol. But a) it is too good to keep to myself, and b) I want them to be successful so they stay open. If you enter in the east door, you will find they have a Bistro which is a really great option when everybody wants something different for lunch or dinner: chinese food, sushi, BBQ, individual pizza (which only takes 2-3 minutes to cook), artisan sandwiches, olive bar, soup bar & even a good-sized salad bar!! Heck, you can even order Starbucks or go to Murray's (still inside Fry's) to enjoy a glass of wine or beer while you wait. The Bistro hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the prices are awesome. A good-sized bowl of Chinese food is $7. The individual pizzas are $5. Best of all, the soda fountain is one of those cool, new Coke machines with a million varieties of soda. You can order your food to go or there are tables inside and a number of covered patio tables outside. There is another outside patio with misters on the east end of the building. I ordered a birthday cake the other day from their bakery. I am really impressed with how it turned out. It was delicious, and you couldn't even tell that it was two different flavors. (I did half chocolate half vanilla) Whoever did the writing has beautiful handwriting as well. I shop at this Frys all the time, but this is my first cake order. I recently moved to AZ from Chicago and was told to be sure to shop at Fry's. I was pleasantly surprised by the helpful staff as well as the cleanliness of the store. Quickly signed up for the Fry's card and the digital coupon deals on line. Great ads and the produce, deli, and bakery depts are very good. Recently, Fry's celebrated their first yr anniversary in this store so the event was highlighted by food tastings, entertainment, and great deals to the consumer... Had fun that day, just grocery shopping.... the gas credits are also a welcome surprise as we are all happy to receive a few cents off at the pump.... Fry's is definitely my favorite store so far here in AZ. read more

Hi my experience to the deli has not been a good one for the past few months, its been awful I go there and it seems like no one is interested in helping me. When i try to ask questions no one knows the answers to them, or they will make up stuff. It is just sad because when I left to go back to Wisconsin I thought about frys and the deli and some of the workers i had built a relationship with. Its just not the same as it was when i left. Those workers that I had built a relationship with are now replaced with clueless people.Im very dissappointed. read more
