I like visiting Ross every once in a while. My go tos here are shoes for thr girls, purses, ceramic pans for cooking and gift cards for special occasions for one of my nephew in laws who loves to shop for clothing here. I wish they spent a bit of time keeping floors cleaner and the bathrooms. It is a hit or miss here. Not the best selection, but some times I get lucky. Especially in the pan department. read more

The older woman here (working on a Wednesday) is incredibly rude. Marley, a new employee, was very nice. However, the old woman was so rude that I took my shopping elsewhere- when I was just looking for help finding a price tag, she had an attitude and made me feel unwelcomed. Not kind. Not friendly. Definitely shouldn't be working in retail. Felt like I was dealing with a person on a power trip at a Ross. read more

They had a very big kids shoe section compared to other stores. Very helpful in finding a variety of options. Overall it had a good selection of all areas. The staff was friendly and there was room to move. It's Ross so some things are a really good deal. Definitely was worth stopping in at. read more

No one can see the eyes of another person, but every time I go into the Ross department store I'm being followed around. The manager, followed me from the back to the front until I checked out. I'm the type of person that know what I wanna go and get and come on out I had my two little granddaughters with me and it was a hot mess. I just didn't say anything, but this is my second time being followed when I stepped into that store. When I checkout, he was standing at the checkout counter, giving me a really bad look as if I was stealing after I checked out and completed my transactions I stood there to see his reaction then he walked away. He didn't say anything to me, kept staring at me until I said hello and he still didn't respond back so been followed around the store it's not once but twice I've been in that store and I will never step another foot in . He being Hispanic and I'm being black he should know the uncomfortable feeling roll the video. Philip Manager from Ross Surprise Towne Center & Marketplace W Bell Rd Surprise AZ 11/21/2025 Report to Ross Corporate I came in with a friend and was waiting in line to be rung up at around 10:56 PM at Ross Surprise Towne Center & Marketplace W Bell Rd Surprise AZ 85374 United States A person identified as the manager approached me while my friend was at the counter. The manager condescendingly told me I had to leave my merchandise because the store was already closed for the night. I informed him that my friend and I were together. He responded that unless we rang up all the items together, I would have to leave my merchandise. I explained that he should not treat customers that way, emphasizing that we are reputable customers, not "beggars," and it was not even five minutes past the closing time. I was standing right next to my friend, browsing the items on sale. I urge corporate to reprimand this manager. His training seems inadequate, and he does not appear qualified for a management position. Another woman on staff was also condescendingly talking back and supporting "Philip." This behavior is unacceptable. We have been loyal patrons of Ross for decades, and this is the first time I have experienced such rudeness, especially from a manager. This interaction ruined what was supposed to be a beautiful night out with my friend. . read more

I love the item selection and the prices! The wait in line is horrible! One cashier for 40 people! On a Friday afternoon!! Absolutely horrible. I used to love to shop at Ross back in the days when the store was clean, when the employees would put away items that were left in the wrong spot but now it's just like a pigsty. Before Prada was built, I would drive all the way up to 99th Ave., Lake Pleasant to go to Marshalls up there just because, this store was so dirty and nasty! Ross you better get with it because TJ Maxx and Marshalls are in town and they are gorgeous! read more

The average Ross is a three star store. Yes this Ross is disorganized. Yes the store was a bit messy. This store gets are extra star for speed of checkout. I have never seen a line move so fast at any Ross. There were five people ahead of me, one with a return, and I was done in less than five minutes. For Ross, that is pretty remarkable. read more

I stop in here every so often because you never know what you'll find. They always have different selections and honestly my favorite finds are usually in the pet area. In the past I've found a cute sweater for my dog and some pretty decent toys for him. They do tend to have some pretty long lines and probably could use some more help. read more

This used to be my go to place for clothes and shoes! Over time, the quality has gone down in all areas- customer service is hit or miss, the store is disorganized, and it is slim pickings. I used to love all the shoes, candles, holiday decor, home decor - I always felt like I didn't know where to start because there was so much to see! Would love to see more organization in the store and better customer service. read more

When hired to work in the back room, they don't treat you with respect at all when you are a new employee. I was at the Ross at 13715 W Bell Rd Monday late afternoon. As I entered the store a security guard greeted me, nice, but the directly behind me came three young ladies. He asked "do you have masks?" The one young lady said, "yes I do and it's comfortably in my hand" she said as she waved it towards him. He didn't say or do anything else so I said is that all you're going to do? He told me that Ross says that when people come in without a mask just let them come in. Now, if this is true, I think Ross should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen in one of their stores. They could potentially be subjecting possibly hundreds of innocent people to COVID-19. Some of us take this very seriously. read more

I am writing a new review based on my last experience the other day. My last review i wrote was not good due to how messy and chaotic the store was. It looked like it was hit by a tornado. It had always been messy but on my last review i stated i went two different days & both days was a wreck. It took my a while to go back because i was so hesitant. When stores are messy like thats its the worst shopping experience. So a month ago i took a chance & was impressed it was really clean. I wondered if i just happened to go on a "good day". I went back there the other day & it was so clean & organized. Everything was in its place. It was easy walking through the isles. I was very impressed. It was a stress free shopping experience. I didnt mind taking time to go down isles & because of that i was able to find things & spent way more money than anticipated. KEEP IT UP ROSS EMPLOYEES bcz this does make a difference when it comes to people buying things. Great Job! read more

I like Ross. I wish I could love it, but can't. Every location I've been in is always so disorganized. There are never enough employees keeping it clean and it feels impossible to ask for help if looking for anything specific. My issue with this location is the awful check out experience. The employees are slow, look and act like it's the end of the world, and rarely even acknowledge your presence. The last two times I've been I literally end up putting my items down and leaving because the line is so slow. Bummer. read more

Came in after a spring training game in the hopes of locating a very specific item. Alas, they didn't have what I was looking for, and the store was in such disarray, I didn't feel like digging around it the chaos to try and find it. I understand that Ross is probably the worst of all the discount stores, but for any place to be in such shambles, just doesn't make sense to me. I wont be back to this location for sure. The store is a mess. Most importantly, this is the place to shop if you don't care about catching COVID-19. There is an automated reminder to stay 6 ft away (esp. in line). But no one is doing it, and no one is enforcing it. read more

Like most Ross stores, the employees, Especially the managers, have no personality . I purchased a large and heavy mirror yesterday and there was no one there that would help me. I asked to just take the cart out to the car and bring it back so I can load it but was told no. So I loaded it by myself praying I wouldn't break it or drop it. I wish I would have just asked for a refund and left the store. Every time I go to Ross I have a problem. I will not be returning to this store or any other Ross. Regardless of what some of the other reviews say this is one of my two favorite places to shop. I sometimes visit the Ross in Tempe but this one seems to consistently have a much better selection! That's why the lines are so long... because it's worth it! You're not going to get that kind of value for your money anywhere else. Can't have everything. With bargain shopping I'd rather wait in line and pay less for quality things than get cheap stuff that wont last long somewhere else. All kinds of fun and beautiful finds in housewares, cute clothes, quality skin care products, and always the fun of the hunt! read more

The restrooms in this store are disgusting. Seriously and the smell. Ross. Please step up your. Leaning

Ross = bargain bin of the universe. You get good deals and sacrifice customer experience. This Ross seems perpetually dishelved, with clothing items on the floor or hanging off their racks. I have a good feeling this has to do with the clientele. They have a ton of clothes, especially for women, which require a good deal of time and patience to sort through. They've changed the layout of the store. The lingerie and home goods sections seem signifcantly sparse and smaller in size. The jewlery area (cordoned off by plexiglass) contains one or two watches, a trio of necklaces and an odd broach or ten. I'd like to see more selection of jewelry, purses and orther "luxury" items like I've seen in other Ross stores. The changing rooms always creep me out-- they're exceptionally dirty. I'm actually scared to undress in these rooms. I feel like I'm in a "bad part of town" at this Ross, namely because of all the security, plexiglass and ghetto attitudes. That being said, I found an amazing floor length formal gown that honestly, I could not wear to anywhere but a gala event. It's gorgeous, originally priced at almost $200. I got it at Ross for $23. In my experience, hit Ross first before other department stores, if something jumps out at you, you'll save a lot of money. If you don't find anything in the first half hour of looking, go ahead and save yourself the frustration and dirty looks from employees and security alike. read more

It's hit it miss at this store. I like to look for cute kitchen things at a reasonable price. Store isn't the cleanest, but it's better than a swap meet or being outdoors in the AZ heat. Bathrooms always stink and dirty... People have always been friendly at this store. Wish they had more gym selections as well as better watch selections. Like I said it is hit or miss. Ross Dress for Less - Department Stores Near Me - Surprise, Arizona

I rarely go to Ross but when I do I typically find nice unique home decor. Besides that fact, I'm THANKFUL for the staff/employees who stepped up Tuesday (July 5th) to get a Ridiculous woman with REALLY horrible eyebrows away from myself & my child. A BIG THANK YOU to her, the Lovely employee wearing the white fitted blouse, for keeping an eye out on those behaving suspiciously/awkwardly in your store to keep others safe. The long story... While looking at hampers I had a little girl walk up & stare at me while picking her nose :-( With eyes wide open I slowly turned (similar to the Gal on the Excorsist movie) to look at my teen daughter & say "Eew. She's staring right at me while picking her nose". Just then the little picker's mom walked up & loudly asks "Excuse me?!" in which I turned back to respond "Oh... your little girl is picking her nose". The picker's mom then stated "It's normal, ALL 5 year old kids do it. Get over yourself, like you're so fancy. This is Ross NOT Dillard's. Besides EVERYONE does it Stupid." to which I replied with a generic pleasant smile "You're right... but people usually do it in the bathroom with tissue. F.Y.I., I have 5 children & NONE of them would do that, especially not in public. Have a good day." The boogie digger's mom stops me from walking to say with attitude "Well I asked her pediatrician about it & he says it's normal." PAUSE STORY. Ok, if she really did speak to a pediatrician then she's obviously well aware of her child's nasty habit & should be prepared to handle the mess that comes with it. Right? Anyways, back to the story... she continues "Since you're the expert what the duck (replace D with an F) would you do?" I continued to generically smile & answered "Well, I'd apologize to whomever had to see that THEN I'd help my child clean her nose & hands. Have a good day." The slime-handler's parental unit then replies "Whatever B(itch), you're just gross. You need to mind your own damn business. She wasn't bothering you so don't speak to my child!" A tiny bit surprised I responded again smiling "I never spoke to your child, I spoke to you. And I WAS minding my own business til your child came up, stared at me while picking her nose then wiped it on that dress hanging right there. Now Please, have a good day. BYE." At that point the booger monster's mother said loudly "Whatever! You're just a gross B(itch). I feel sorry for you thinking you're fancy. Duck (with an F) You!" Keep in mind, I'm with my teenager so I used the power of Greyskull NOT to blow up on her & merely responded "Well I feel sorry for you, your children AND your terrible eyebrows. Good bye." Yes I could've responded differently but this female's ridiculous behavior deserved a ridiculous response plus I was flipping angry at that point. Anywho, needless to say the snot girl's mum angrily retorts "My EYEBROWS?! Really B(itch)?" & went into a crazy lady rant. At this point a female employee stood near me, demanded we both end the conversation & go our separate ways. Just then the female with eyebrow issues begins to "fake cry" (whimpering with COMPLETELY dry eyes) desperately trying to put the blame on me stating I threatened her child, I threatened her & that she had every right to defend herself. Yeah it was very obvious no one believed her so she recovered her voice at the speed of light & just as quickly rushed away. Later the same female employee approached us & asked if we were ok, I answered "Yes, thank you for asking." I then told her I couldn't believe the incident happened because I told a mom her child was nose picking. The employee then explained she had already been surveying that woman for acting odd with her children, leaving them unattended in an isle & saying odd things to the children as well. The lovely employee then continued to say she had been following them but was trying to keep her distance in hopes not to get noticed but lost sight when she had backtracked to come around a different way. The next thing she new, she heard raised voices, tried to rush over but was was approached by another about the incident then approached us to dissolve the situation. Not ONCE did I see the store security person that stands near the entry door but I'm GLAD the pretty employee was keeping an eye out & made sure we were ok :-) read more

I expected better deals at a place like this. It's kind of ghetto and the lines are long.

This location in SURPRISE is the worst when it comes to checking out. The lines are always long with maybe 2 cashiers at best. And I do mean maybe...so if you don't have an hour to wait your turn don't come here. I've been coming to this location for years especially when they first opened, but I will only come in if I am on a mission to find something, then I'm out. The store itself is usually pretty organized and clean, which does make sifting through racks of stuff bearable. In all fairness I will find something cute for work always at a bargain price. Luckily my work requires me to wear all black. The purse selection has gotten a lot better as far as style and variety. Yes, I love me a good purse. I still have yet to find one though...the search continues. They do offer everything from baby stuff to home goods. So variety is abundant. The dressing rooms are clean as are the restrooms. All in all, the only bad I've experienced at this location is the lack of registers open to service numerous customers. Two cashiers and one was working the return line is not enough. When u have 10 ppl in line, let's move things along. Oh and I though this was a good one...was there last Friday after waiting my long turn, the couple before me went to the register with a cart full of stuff and the cashier tells them she doesn't have any big bags for their items, so if they wanted to PURCHASE a recyclable bag for 99 cents they can. Lmfao...the nerve. Nah, u can shove them all into a bunch of small bags thank you. Good one Ross. Get it together. read more

Always seem to find what Im looking for and more. Nice variety and great prices. Nice cashiers too.

Normally I like Ross but not this location. The store is always in shambles, the staff is disinterested and rude. There is a security gaurd who looks like he's gonna beat someone with a billy club at any second. Worst of all the dressing rooms have an overwhelming smell of urine. Gross. Do yourself a favor and keep on driving another half mile to Kohls. Comprable prices WAY better store and customer service. read more

They have very nice items to buy in cheap price, but if they have online service to buy online will be good.

I loved working here my co workers were awesome some eh. But the reason why I left is because of the bullying and harassment. I tried telling my manager but she didn't care. They also don't care if you get hurt as well I was in the stock team I stepped on a thumb tact told my manager she shrugged her shoulders. I had to go to the hospital that day and get a shot. It was great at first but then became horrible I hated the policy they have its ridiculous! If anyone is trying to work at this ross DONT! I wasn't the only one who was getting treated like this. I was getting harassed over something I didn't do mainly the manager harassing me. I like how this ross is a free bullying zone but really the manager was the one who was bullying me. I haven't stepped a foot since the day I quit and I never will step a foot into that store again. read more

I really do love to shop at Ross but they irritate the hell out of me with the way they tag and I don't know who to talk to because none of them seem to care how careless the tagging is. Frames have the stickers on the glass, so you have to come home and scrape the stickers off the frames and I usually purchase 3-6 at a time. UGH! Shoes have the sticker on the inside of the shoe, so guess what?.. you have to scrape it off and now the inside of the shoe is sticking to your foot! UGH!! I purchase journals and of course the stickers are stuck to the back and you can't always get them off completely. On more than one occasion I was already in the dressing room to find that they have put the security thing on the bra strap so now you can't adjust the bra strap to try it on properly! UGH!!! Really people, come on with the careless tagging. Just because you charge lower fees for products shouldn't mean that you don't care about the extra work consumers have to put in before or after purchasing. I have taken my concerns to more than one manager at the Surprise location and they just tell me to go online and contact corporate. Why don't you talk to corporate? read more
