    Salt and pepper pork knuckles

I'm so glad there's finally an authentic Chinese/Sichuan restaurant in Everett! Yes, there are plenty of Chinese-American restaurants in the area, but they all cater to the demographic here... which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just means I have to drive to Seattle for good food. We typically get takeout from the restaurant but decided to dine in this time. Our favorites are the salt and pepper pork knuckles, mapo tofu, garlic eggplant, sole fish in spicy gravy, feiteng combo (spam, tripe, intestines, sole fish, wood ear mushroom, pork/duck blood), home style tofu, and the intestines with chili. We're planning on coming back to try their duck next! Highly recommend if in the area and looking for great food! They also have good lunch combos.

All five dishes we ordered were excellent and it was hard to choose even a favorite...even given the fact that this was a Sichuan place and I went with someone who can't take spice! Really good service...happy to reseat us when we requested to sit further from the door...giving us good food recommendations...and smiling all the time. Clean and nicely lit atmosphere. Tea Smoked Duck had good strong smoke and spot on seasoning. Stir-fried white fish was silky smooth. Mixed Black fungus a was nicely refreshing vinegary complement. Wonton Soup is in a big bowl to for several people. Try the good (less guilt) Purple Rice as a better carb option. Honey Ciba (glutinous rice cake) was not overly sweet as a dessert. Honeydew drink was made with real fruit. Can't wait to return with a friend who can eat spice (no offense to my wife)!

I'm updating my review because my first impression on food was not good. I've returned MANY times since then. The food, service, and ambiance is great. The food is tasty and there's seating for one person up to large groups. So glad I gave it another try!

batter fried fish lunch item (with a smattering of "pickled" chilis lacking any kind of sour punch at all)

An elegant Chinese restaurant with bright decorative notes like hanging red lanterns, on a walkable block of Colby Avenue with easy street parking certainly packs some curb appeal. This place caters to meat eaters so be warned if you're looking for vegetarian options that they are limited. When I came here with co-workers we did okay -- only because the vegetarians switched to "flexitarians" for the meal. Duck and lamb are standouts on the menu marking the sophistication of the kitchen. We ordered a bunch of dishes family style --and we were able to enjoy sharing plates. The service by some elegant ladies is on point. The price point for lunch is where I ding this restaurant. Lunch items are priced at around $20, and you get upcharged ($2) if you order the "black rice". The rub is that each lunch menu item is a monotonous single item such as batter fried fish pieces, or egg plant, or fried green beans. So there's no satisfaction of a diverse presentation on the plate unless you order at least two separate lunch items...and that sets you back $40 + rice costs for lunch. This is not a good deal on the wallet nor particularly satisfying on the palate-- relative to any number of nearby establishments where you can spend $20 and get a smorgasbord of delicious protein and side vegetables over a bowl of rice for lunch. I wouldn't do this place for lunch. It's not worth the money. It was monotonous food, albeit expertly fast fried as the smoothest Chinese cooks deliver, with an oily sheen. Instead, go here to eat family style at dinner and order up a series of items.

Lina and her family have the best Chinese food in the county. The menu is filled with delectable, authentic, mostly Szechuan dishes, served with the most efficient and kindest staff. We love, love the home made pot stickers. We have been regulars for about a year plus and will continue for years to come. Highly recommended!!

We had the chicken chow mein, crispy fried fish, orange beef, and honey walnut shrimp.

Overall, the food was delicious and we enjoyed our service there. I personally enjoyed the spicy sichuan sauce on the side! Clean bathrooms!

Ordered several dishes as you can see on the receipt and pictures. The food was ok - Sichuan spicy chicken was good, the rest were a bit too greasy for me. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the place is quite cozy. I just don't think the food is authentic.

Lovely atmospheric music. Well lit, with plenty of seating. The food is excellent, with lots of vegetarian options. Lina was a wonderful host, making suggestions, moving at light speed, and incredibly kind. Highly recommended!

I snuck in just before the end of lunch & I'm glad I did. I'll soon be moving back to Ever-wett & I'm glad to add FLF as one of my go-to Asian places. I had the Broccoli Chicken. It was hot & fresh. I'll probably ask for a fork next time. Trying to eat fried rice with chopsticks is tough for whitey! Very clean space and great service. Also nice to pay about $15 for lunch again. I'll be back to try the Chow Mein.

We haven't been able to find good Chinese food anywhere in this area. I think the last time we had good food was when Lotus was open in Mukilteo. Who knows how many years ago that was. Our second time here and we are working through the menu. So far we've had Mongolian beef, General Tso's chicken, Kung Pao Chinese chicken and orange beef. Husband loves their sweet and sour soup. Good egg drop soup, best I've had. Food tastes clean, fresh and good quality. Not made from frozen foods. All delicious. We've found our spot!

So I was sent a notice from another elite yelper she had eaten at this new restaurant off of Colby. This is a Chinese food restaurant with a Szechuan spin to it. There were three of us at dinner including myself. my husband and daughter ordered the egg drop soup and I ordered the hot sour soup. Both were amazing and the egg drop soup was very colorful and it's my understanding they had just cooked the soup. We ordered the fried rice along with the sweet-and-sour chicken, Mongolian beef and pot stickers . The sweet-and-sour chicken was perfect. There was just enough sauce on the chicken. Sometimes when you order sweet-and-sour chicken, the chicken is swimming in sweet-and-sour sauce . As you can tell by the photos, they did not oversauce the chicken. The Mongolian was spicier than I normally have, but it was good! If you're looking for the Chinese noodles that go underneath the, typical Mongolian beef recipe this recipe doesn't have it. The serving is filled with beef and onions. We also ordered a plate of potstickers. They had a very great and lovely taste along with almost a chipotle like dipping sauce. Not your normal potsticker dipping sauce, but it was good. This restaurant has only been in business for about a month and we visited it on a Friday night at about 7 PM. There were only a few seats open so the word has gotten out. The food is great. The staff is very nice. It was a very lovely dinner for an affordable price. This is a great little restaurant we will definitely be going back

Wondering if the food was a fluke on our first visit we returned and oh boy, did these guys drop…read morethe ball. The food here is good and worth the drive if you are in the county, but I am dropping my review to 3 stars based on all the issues between both visits. On this visit, we came for dinner. Dinner specials are about 20% more than lunch. You certainly expect a larger portion and, in most cases, the dinners include an egg roll or BBQ pork or something to round out the meal. That was not the case here. Nope, this was just soup entrée and rice and the portion was not larger than the lunch portion. That was the first issue. The second was not having out water refilled, AGAIN. When we asked for water, the woman had an attitude and the customer waiting for his take out said, You, can grab a carafe from the cooler. I had seen them, but not only was one never offered to us, it should have been placed on the table for dine in. A reviewer called the Almond chicken weird. It's not weird, they just use the same process as the sweet and sour chicken instead or pounding out a breast. I've had it this way a few times and actually like it. Each piece is about the size of a Starbursts, but once battered, it puffs up to a fun size Snickers bar. The advantage is a fully coated, crisp piece of chicken. The downside is it's an illusion. It makes a small portion of chicken look like a full-size portion. That said, the chicken was good, well seasoned, battered and cooked perfectly. That same take out customer asked for hot oil, the same thing I asked for on my first trip, the lady reached down and grabbed him a tiny cup. Yes, the same thing we were told they don't have on our first trip. WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON HERE! The final issue was the soup. As mentioned in my initial review, the hot and sour was really good, but when I asked about another cup, I was told I had to buy another lunch. So this time, based on reviews, I tried the wonton soup. It was about $7 and it was in the same size cup as the lunch soup, so maybe 10 oz or even 8. It was packed with 4 wontons, it also had bamboo and carrots and another vegetable that may have been zucchini It was good, but not as good as the hot and sour and not worth the price. This is a $3 cup of soup, not a bowl, either lower the price or increase the portion. The food is an A, but the service is an F. They are inconsistent and since we have been the only dine in customer's on both trips, I guess all your take out people have a different experience. If this place was in our neighborhood, we would get take out, not dine in and we would be selective about what we order. I think the food is 5 star, but everything else is an issue. When you can't trust the people serving you, it's hard to fall in love with a place.

I had lived in Beijing for 8 years and spoke pretty good mandarin for a 老外 so I ordered for us. Our waitress, one of two sisters who ran the place, I call her 陈大姐, said to me, Wow, you can speak Chinese! You must be very smart! I replied, You must be very smart. You can speak Chinese! At first she didn't know what to say but then laughed. It was the beginning of a lovely relationship. However since the pandemic we had not been back. Perhaps yesterday we were in the spirit of celebrating the Spring Festival. We decided to go there. What a great choice! 陈大姐 by coincidence was working. She retired years ago. (Her sister opened another 老四川 in Bellevue but unfortunately has since passed away.) 陈大姐 immediately recognized us. She remembered our son and other family members who often joined us there. It felt like old friends getting together again. Unfortunately my wife and I were the only ones in our little group. It's better to have more people so you can order more dishes. We only got 4 dishes, 宫保鱼, 椒盐虾,干煸四季豆, 夫妻肺片。Gong bao fish, salt and pepper shrimp, green beans and "husband and wife lung strips"! Actually that's a beef and tendon appetizer. Everything tasted just like we remember. Well, the fish dish was wetter than before but still tasty. Flavors are authentic but a little toned down from the Sichuan food in China and in a few other local restaurants. The main flavor of Sichuan cuisine is 麻辣 or spicy numbing. It's not really so hot as it is numbing. Your lips tingle. Most people who didn't grow up with this aren't big fans. Their 水煮肉 or 水煮鱼 comes pretty close though. Leftovers with either of those and leftover rice plus whatever make the very best 烩饭, huifan! Just boil it. We arrived there early and there were just a few other customers eating. And they left soon after. So it was just us and a steady stream of delivery drivers coming in to pick up food to go. I would consider ordering on line like that but this food doesn't hold up well over the distance to our home. Although the interior had been remodeled since our last visit, the decor is fairly stark. Combine that with the location in a strip mall on the corner of Jackson and 12th, which has seen better days, ambience isn't a real draw. However if what you want is a very good meal at reasonable prices then you should go to the Sichuanese Cuisine restaurant in Seattle. (I prefer it to the one in Bellevue.) Too bad you probably won't get to meet 陈大姐。Now that we know the food is still great, we will return.
