They argued that there was a 3 days cancellation policy; this 3 months after my 3 year contract has ended. I have to yell for them to promise a refund for only 1 month. I am holding my breath. I decide to just get it done, and so I asked them to hold on for me to secure my cats so they wouldn't run outside. They literally had to take the door off of the hinges! They used that time to go grab tools and a patiently waited for me to let them know when my cats were secured. The job didn't take that long, I didn't actually time it.... Maybe about 40 minutes? They were efficient and really did their thing. So now, my door is fixed and I'm ready to go on vacation. They aren't the closest geographically, but they do serve the entire area. The representative used lots of predatory and vague promises about maintaining her safety while really just trying to get her to sign a poorly worded contract. After settling into our home, we found that the neighborhood was safe and the need for an alarm system minimal. At no time over the past 6 months have we even activated the alarm, in large part because we have very attentive and supportive neighbors. My wife decided that it wasn't necessary to have an alarm service and called to cancel for any future months. At no point did the representative indicate any fees or penalties, just thanked her for the call and indicated that they were always available in the future. In less than a month, my wife received a bill in the mail as if she was paying in advance for 4 years of service (something she never agreed to over the phone nor in writing). Note that at no time throughout this process did I ever sign anything nor did this security company contact me, despite having my name and number. When my wife called the company representative back about the fraudulent bill, they gave no rationale nor explanation, just indicated that the bill was due in full by the next month. They offered to throw in a 'free' assessment of our smoke detectors, indicating that we didn't have them (we have 6). No negotiation, no willingness to meet partway, and no real explanation as to why they would charge someone for 4 years of an alarm service they weren't receiving. The fact that this company still has any customers at this point is shocking to me. If you are in the area and seek safety and security, or some peace of mind, avoid this company entirely. They will provide neither care nor concern for your well-being.
