For lunch and breakfast it is a seat yourself/order at the counter procedure, which was fine - the line was long but we didn't wait more then 10 minutes to order. I've only been to this location once and it was popping on a Saturday in October. It took about 15-20 minutes to order because the line was sooo long. But whatever, you'll wait at any restaurant at lunchtime in Franklin. After placing the order we went upstairs and sat on the patio, there were many places to sit and eat, study, work, etc. When the food came, the portions were huge. We got veggies and hummus and a veggie burger with potatoes fries. It was all delicious but I could only eat half it was so big. We got spiced tea as well. Great experience! read more

What I liked: 1. The menu and coffee! Both are delicious and the menu has a surprising number of options- I got a small salad and it was quite yummy. 2. The location - Nestled on the edge of historic downtown Franklin, it's a great place to stop for a quick coffee or lunch during a day of window shopping, or set up to do some work. What I didn't like: 1. The parking- it's tight in the popular downtown Franklin lot. 2. The noise- this isn't a coffee shop conducive to getting work done. I found out the hard way when, for a change of scenery from working at home, I set up shop and tried to take a call...just as a local hipster broke out his guitar and started strumming away next to me! Don't waste your time. We didn't even end up eating here because they were out of 90% of the food we wanted to get. Not just out of regular pastries, they were out of major menu items. It took the server way too long to get to us, and then we asked for decaf coffee. They do not have decaf coffee. For a coffee shop to not have decaf is ridiculous. For people who can't have caffeine for various reasons, it's frustrating to be only offered an americano that is not refillable. After she told us she'd be back for the order, it was at least another 10-15 minutes before we got to even flag her down for an order. It would have been fine if she was busy, but she was just standing in the back or walking in a circle. Benefit of the doubt maybe she had things to do that we didn't see, but it was way too long to leave a table unattended when they haven't ordered. They were out of the brisket sandwich, multiple breads, bagels, meats, dishes, etc. Super disappointing. Maybe the food is good, but we didn't get to experience it. read more

Coffee: I enjoy their espresso drinks, but I always feel as if they are too oil-y and taste a little off... I think for the cost, I'm being ripped off. Atmosphere: It's a little dark but the 2nd level (open to seating) is nice and bright. They have a thing going with branding/design- custom table order cards, beer/wine available and stuff, but it's only good not great. It gives the feeling of rich middle aged semi-casual meetings with a $30 salad and $50 bottle of wine. That's how it makes me, a confident 25 year old male, feel. Food: Only tried breakfast there once. I was not impressed with what I ordered. The bacon was too fatty, the pancakes were burnt, don't recommend breakfast. Easy street parking. Cute place with lots of seating. Fast service. My wife said she had the best gluten free toast she had ever had. She also loved her almond milk cappuccino. While in Franklin visiting family, they brought us here for our first breakfast. Outstanding! The Americano went down smooth, they were roasting a single origin bean from Burundi. The omelet, it was made when fresh ingredients, the bacon is thick and delicious. The toast is made with fresh, hearty bread. The service was super friendly, they made us feel like they cared. They wouldn't allow my SERVICE DOG to come inside, even though that's illegal. My friends still wanted to eat there so we sat outside after waiting 40 min for a table because they wouldn't allow us to sit inside with my service dog who is professionally trained btw. Nice hip urban spot with decent food, which I suspect (hope?) would have been better during a less busy time. Staff were really lovely - especially with the continued grounds in my mom's coffee despite the do-overs. My food came almost room temp, but I wolfed it down because it had taken forever. They strip the maple syrup and do something interesting with it. I'm a purist with my pancakes and syrup, but I was ok with it. Taste was a bit nutty and less "maple-y."
