Great food & coffee! Fast friendly service!! I was very happy with our spur of the moment stop.

Good coffee, desserts are a little too well done and dry. Breakfast like omelettes and eggs can be greasy and over salt and peppered.

Food is good, the place is cute, fun feel to it. The whole family likes it. The bellinis are nice for a brunch treat.

Frothy Monkey is probably one of if not my absolute favorite coffeeshops in Nashville. Typically diametrically-opposed to chains, Frothy Monkey makes the cut because their multiple locations are all local with the exception of the Chattanooga location. They're gracious enough to give all their monkeys an opportunity to recharge no matter where we are in town! I particularly love the Franklin location, as there's plenty of room in a quaint and charming old home turned two-story cafe. Their menu is extensive, all the food is good, and it's a great value. I often find myself wondering if I got what I paid for, yet feeling more than stuffed when I leave. They go a step beyond most coffeeshops by capitalizing on our resources here in Nashville, offering tea from High Garden, East Nashville-based purveyor of the best teas on the planet. There's nothing better than breakfast on the wrap-around covered porch on a rainy morning. Great place to go and do homework, or get some reading done. read more

Just over all disappointed in the place. I wouldn't suggest the CA since they forgot my avocado and greens. It's also hard to eat cause the bread is hard. Def just come here for the coffee and not the food. read more

This was a favorite of ours to top off the evening with a coffee and baked good. STAFF IS ALWAYS WONDERFUL! But unfortunately they are no longer a "coffee house" but just a plain ol restaurant. If you aren't getting the coffee to-go then you must be waited on. I can't justify taking a server's table when I just want a $3 cup of coffee. And it's not about paying tip because I always tip the barista. I don't need to be babysat over my cup of coffee or have the feeling that I need to finish up and move on. Unfortunately Franklin lacks in late evening coffee houses, and this place is added to the list of once-was. I hear there's a "coffee house" in Thompson Station called "1819 Coffee" that is open until 8pm (10pm would be perfect)... I plan to make the drive to them soon! read more

Have always enjoyed frothy monkey but was a little frustrated today. I walked in at 3:03 and there were other gals in front of me in line. When I got to the front I asked the worker about a drink and she answered me nicely, then what seemed like a manager came up and said we actually have new hours and just closed at 3. Having worked in customer service, proper thing to say would be we'd be happy to take your order but please know our hours have changed for future reference. After all the doors weren't locked, plenty of patrons indoors and out. And it was 2 min past.... frustrating after paying for parking. read more

Frothy Monkey is hands down one of my favorite breakfast spots ever! Any time I have out of town guests, this is a go-to! They are normally packed on the weekends, so I'd suggest your first time going maybe be during the week. The restaurant is set in a historic two story house, which I love the atmosphere of. I always sit upstairs when I go, because it's less loud from the ordering counter and door traffic. Service is always good unless they are slammed, the food takes longer to come out which is totally understandable. read more

The customer service was great, the girl taking my order was nice and helpful. She answered all of my questions without being condescending like some others that work at local coffee shops. I went in there just to get some iced coffee but saw a special written on the board called a coconut cream, it was so good! I got it iced and it was just the right amount of sweet. My second visit here and not going back. My second trip was as bad as the first one. Both hostesses were rude. I had to ask the staff twice why my food was taking so long. They could have cared less. Lovely little café in Franklin. Great selection of sandwiches, entrees, coffee and drinks. I have been to many great restaurants but with bad service. Frothy Monkey has exceptionally great service. I inadvertently ordered a sandwich that had meat on it. I asked if I could get a different one while I would pay for both sandwiches since it was my mistake. But the waiter was generous enough to replace it with a different one for no additional cost. Gestures like these go a long away. In fact, so long that I signed up for Yelp just to post this review. If you're ever in the vicinity, try this cute little, super pet-frienddly place and I'm sure you would leave with sumptuous food in your belly and a top notch service. read more

The Frothy Monkey, what an excellent name. This is definitely one of the major spots everyone needs to visit when going to downtown Franklin. The location is great, the atmosphere is even better. I've never had their food, but I've been here many times to enjoy their coffee. We have family from Seattle who are hardcore Starbuck fanatics and they even said their coffee here is better. This place was great! I went here with a couple of friends on a Sunday morning. I had no issue with parking or the service. We even got a table outside. I got the Julie bagel sandwich with bacon on it and a side of potatoes as well as a cafe au lait. The best deal was definitely the side of potatoes which was a large portion for only 2 dollars, but both the coffee and sandwich was reasonably priced. My friends also enjoyed what they got as well! This place is fun, relaxed, and just a great place to meet up with friends or family to enjoy a good drink and a good meal. We have been for breakfast and an early lunch and were pleased on both occasions. We did have an evening we went in for just a quick drink before a dinner reservation down the street and unfortunately our drinks didn't show up after about 10 minutes and we had to run. Luckily, the staff was very apologetic, and the gave us a gift card for our drinks for another time. They were attempting to give us a refund on the card but in the time crunch, they could whip up a gift card far quicker. We will definitely be frequenting this location :) read more

Have only been for breakfast but their architect omelets with Bentons bacon are my favorite weekend treat. I also love their coffee. Frothy also has a great atmosphere that I love to come and spend my weekend mornings. I have had both the special lattes and plain coffee is also delicious. The reason for the fifth star however is their baked goods. Everything I have had is beyond delicious. Even the day olds are a step above every one else's fresh. Their chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, ever. So good and thick. I love the local art on the walls. read more

The Frothy Monkey has quickly become our favorite coffee shop in Franklin. I read the other reviews and for some it may depend on what they want and what they like. We love going most times of the day and finding a table. They have tons of tables. The best kept secret is the upstairs. They have inside and outside tables and the location is close to downtown. They feature the art of local folks on the wall. The staff is very friendly. The food and coffee are good. We went in for a beer last week. Their spirits collection is not large, but it was fine and we enjoyed the space and being there in the evening too. It is a comfortable place and we enjoy being in the spacious atmosphere with friendly people. I am looking forward to enjoying the outside now that Spring has sprung! read more

We had coffee on a Saturday afternoon and it was delicious. Service was a little chaotic but the coffee was worth it. After several disappointing meals in Franklin and Nashville, we were looking for a delicious meal to begin our road trip home. While the initial greeting was a little cold, we were seated in less than 20 minutes. Our server was amazing. So helpful and knowledgeable. My husband had the California and I had the Julie. Less than two miles from my house. It's my collage daughters favorite to hang, study and socialize. Coffee is OK. I prefer a cold beer late in the afternoon. Lots of different seating options. Friendly outdoor porch seating. Booths downstairs and good seating upstairs. They even have a long table that can be used for meetings. read more

I wish they had coffee shops like this in my hometown. Came here around dinner time and got a salmon sandwich and a rosemary honey latte. Both were great. The salmon sandwich was unexpectedly amazing! I honestly just ordered it cuz I was in the mood for something healthy - and I was fully expecting it to be pretty gross and tasteless like most other healthy sounding food. But it was sooo good. They literally cook a whole salmon filet(!!!) and put it in your sandwich. It's awesome. Salmon was seared really nice and brown, seasoned well, and pretty moist. It was a great sandwich. Overall the ambience and service here is just very inviting and nice to be around. I don't drink coffee too much, but I can imagine if I lived in Nashville I'd be spending a lot of time hanging out here. Cool place. Coffee was good, but took longer than one would expect. Our conversations were good, but would have been better with a cup of coffee in our hands. Stopped for breakfast passing through town while visiting Nashville. It's your typical trendy coffee shop with several people outside on their MacBooks. Nothing wrong with that, but you would expect descent wifi. Wifi was horrible. Very slow and had to constantly try and connect. Really this is no big deal other then I would not expect this at a trendy coffee spot. For instance I just tried to post this review and received an error that I'm not connected to the Internet even though it shows I am. Guess I'll block their network and use cellular. For breakfast I had the California which was two eggs over easy on toast. On the side it had avocado, bean sprouts and salsa. It tasted good but was overpriced IMO. Well, I did get an orange juice which was a 12 oz pre-packaged plastic bottle from concentrate which cost $2.79. I know every place charges a lot for OJ, but the total cost for breakfast was $11.79. For that price they should have at least included hash browns or fresh fruit or something. Also, you order up front, not waited on. But they do bring the food out to you. Do you tip in this situation? I didn't. So I guess that needs to be figured into the price also which makes it not so bad. So all in all I liked it and would go back. But I thought 3 stars was fair. If you want to be a typical trendy, over priced coffee spot then at least get the network thing right. read more

Wonderful coffee! We opened the place on a Saturday morning. Food seems to be locally sourced as much as possible, and is well prepared. I had the California, with a side of bacon. The sourdough bread is very worthwhile. Eggs done nicely. My wife had the Cheesy Grits Bowl, which is an interesting combination, with feta, prosciutto, and arugula which works well together. The staff was very friendly with us. I would recommend this to anyone. read more
