Really love this place. Have been here multiple times and they have never let me down once. They do get really busy, and the whole place gets packed really fast, but the line wait is worth it. They wouldn't allow my SERVICE DOG to come inside, even though that's illegal. My friends still wanted to eat there so we sat outside after waiting 40 min for a table because they wouldn't allow us to sit inside with my service dog who is professionally trained btw. Nice hip urban spot with decent food, which I suspect (hope?) would have been better during a less busy time. Staff were really lovely - especially with the continued grounds in my mom's coffee despite the do-overs. My food came almost room temp, but I wolfed it down because it had taken forever. They strip the maple syrup and do something interesting with it. I'm a purist with my pancakes and syrup, but I was ok with it. Taste was a bit nutty and less "maple-y." Just stopped by after church for lunch - ordered a kids ham n cheese and roast beef sandwich. Waited for 30 minutes while others that ordered after us were served. Stopped a waitress to check on our order and they said it would be 30 more minutes. She brought it out 15 minutes later saying a manager expedited it...cold, no cheese on roast beef. An apology for the awful service would have helped but no, they acted like they did us a favor. Too many other choices in Franklin to put up with this again. The coffee here was more like 4 stars, but the food brought it down. My friends and I were staying in Franklin and everyone said we had to try the Frothy Monkey. The place is apparently a local chain, but this location was very cute. It was in an old house of sorts that was spacious and had a large front porch. You order at the counter and they bring out your food. I had a honey rosemary latte which was, as you can imagine, pretty awesome and different than your typical coffee. I liked that it had a light herbal flavor, but you could still taste the coffee. The food, on the other hand, was somewhat disappointing. I had the plain jane egg sandwich, add bacon. It came out missing the cheese. I went and got some cheese and put it on, but it wasn't the same as having melty cheese on an egg sandwich. The eggs were cooked correctly, but the overall sandwich wasn't very flavorful. I guess I should have guess from the name, but it was like something I could easily make at home. Anyway, I would go back for coffee, but maybe skip the food. read more

I've been to frothy monkey in the past & love the GF options they have! However... I had a very bad to-go experience here recently. I ordered individual breakfasts for 7 people for a meeting. When I called to order they told me they didn't have gravy or strawberries so I had to change two orders. When I got there I had to add one more breakfast to my order, while they were making it I decided to take the finished orders out to the car & double check that everything was right. One of the bagel sandwiches had tomato & was missing bacon even though I clearly ordered it with NO tomato & added bacon. Also one of the omelettes was missing toast. I took the messed up order back in to be corrected. They questioned me about the toast and gave me a hard time about it because I told them I didn't know whether the missing toast was supposed to be gluten free or not (I ordered 3 omelettes with a mixture of gf and regular toast). I asked, can you just give me a slice of both and I'll ask the person when I get there? Instead two employees made a big deal about investigating which kind of toast was missing ‍. While I was waiting on the toast & bagel sandwich to be fixed, I noticed they DID have strawberries. So I asked if I could thrown in a to-go cup because when I called they said they didn't have any. They told me they'd have to charge an extra 50 cents, I told her I didn't want to put a second charge on the company card for 50 cents and she just said "ok I get that" and that was the end of that. They were more worried about 50 cents than making a customer happy. They just seemed annoyed by me and the customer service was horrible. By the time I finally got all the food (the toast was ready last after the great toast debate) and got it to the office everything was cold and had to be reheated. Also I was late to the meeting due to all the issues that had to be fixed. I will NEVER order catering or to-go orders from here ever again! Very disappointed. read more

I must admit the place does not disappoint it is a nicely remodeled place and I suppose one would call it hip. Wife and the kids went there Saturday and I understand there is a premium to get coffee in a "fancy" coffee joint but too mini lattes , and 1 albeit big cookie for $11.00 is a rip off. The coffee was OK, nothing to brag about from now on will save the $ and make the lattes at home. I do as good and for a heck of a lot cheaper and I don't need to fight for a seat. read more

Enjoyed breakfast here while weekending in Nashville. After braving a Saturday-morning line (it stayed pretty busy the entire time we were there), we found a booth and eagerly awaiting our food and drinks. The Frothy Monkey (2 eggs, sausage or bacon, and toast) satisfied, and the pancakes with homemade syrup got good reviews as well. I am not a coffee drinker, but my companion seemed to enjoy his iced latte. I always tend to go at lunch time. The service is average but the wait time is typically longer than most locations. Do I enjoy good by here? Yes, for several reasons, they have some great coffee choices and you can choose your atmosphere for eating... Solitary upstairs, busy downstairs or outside. I'm not a coffee fan, so I can't review the baristas and drinks. But let me tell you the food is amazing! I dream about the PMP, the trout a la heather, and even the salsa here. And whatever pastries they have on display are always good. So far I suggest the: blood orange-apple pie, corn-pepper scone, and lime-coconut scone. My husband got the steak and egg dish (can't remember the name): also very yummy. I will say the chocolate pudding 3 ways was a huge disappointment. The plain was fine, but the almond one tasted like someone accidentally dumped a whole bottle of almond extract in it. Aside from that the only negative is how busy it can get. read more

It is a half step behind the elite craft coffee places in greater Nashville (think Crema) but, together with the place in the Factory, the clear leader in Franklin/Cool Springs. I've always love FM in Nashville. That place has great coffee and a great vibe. I was excited to see a location in Franklin. This location was a complete disappointment and has strayed far from the 12South location with a great coffee shop vibe. The menu has hard to find. The staff was rude and not clean. The Girl behind the counter acted like I was inconveniencing her by coming in. I saw a waiter drinking something from a cup while he was delivering food to a table and then throw the cup in the trash. Not impressed with this location! read more

The service was not good. The server didn't say anything but "what can I get you" and walked away. No hello or introduction. Nobody came to refill our water at any point. The food took 30 min plus and the place was empty. The food was mediocre at best and the servings are small for the price. We had to ask for the check because they basically ignore their customers. We had to bring the check up to the front counter because nobody came to receive our card for payment. There was a lot of problems with this place. I would not recommend coming here. read more

I was only there once for a college interview and to study afterwards, but even though I was there for only a brief time, it was amazingly pleasant. The music was not noisy at all and the staff was really friendly. This was my second time at Frothy Monkey (I visited their 12 South location a couple months ago. This spot is mediocre at best (sorry). Being from Seattle I have high expectations for artisan coffee. This visit I got an Americano and it was bitter, but better than Starbucks. I also got a salad and it was average. It gave me a stomach ache. I hate to be negative, but it wasn't a great experience. I love this place! Specifically the Franklin location! Even when it is busy everything is always out in a timely manor. I stopped by today and had their soup of the day, Carrot-Purée, and wow that was delicious. It actually looks like baby food but don't let that get in the way of its mighty flavor!
