Matcha puffle with matcha ice cream
    Nita C.

This is a cute boba teashop with some egg waffles on the side! It's a nice study nook, too, if you don't mind the noise and ambience. It's located snugly in the plaza, and it's a little hard to find at first. There's plenty of food places nearby if you wanted more filling items. There's a good amount of space to study/work or hang out, though not all tables are located near an outlet. Most of them are within reach, though. Drinks: I've tried a few of their milk tea drinks and their fruity teas. I appreciate the different customizations, ranging from sugar level, ice level, topping options to different milk options. I do think their tea flavor is not very strong, and at times, the drinks come off as watery. Other times, the tea has an odd bitter tang also as if incorrectly steeped. Their tapioca balls/boba is chewy and pretty decent. I think of all their drinks, their fruity drinks are probably the best made. They use real fruit bits, and they have interesting combinations. Egg waffle: I LOVE egg waffles (puffles), so I was very excited to see this being offered. They have fun add ons with the ice cream and toppings, which I think is fun. However, what I don't like is how the ice cream quickly turns the waffle soggy and thus not as good to eat. I do prefer the original, though the matcha flavor doesn't taste too different from the original. The quality of the puffle appears to vary depending on the day. Sometimes, they are well made while other times, they can be too oily and squishy without enough crispness.

Frosty Fox offer Taiwanese dessert at good location near university of Florida. It has the shave ice and boba drink. Tiny place has a lot of student traffic. It is good see the dessert store has good stuff to offer. We have the brown sugar latte boba. It is actually quite good about 4 stars. The drink match the price paid. The second item we have is the chocolate snow shave ice. We added the boba topping. They serve this in a small cup. For the quantity and amount of the item allowed in the cup, they are expensive. It is 3 stars on this item. May be they can improve on the cup size. Overall is good. It is about 3.5 stars.

    Brown Sugar Latte with Boba

Got Brown Sugar Latte, Jasmin Green Tea and Chocolate Gelato - ALL 5-STAR! Initially we forgot to add boba for Brown Sugar Latte so I asked them if they could add it back and they gave me the boba for free! Can't thank them enough!

Atmosphere is really sleek and clean. The girl working behind the counter was really sweet and friendly, she even participated in pictures and videos of people enjoying their drinks. We ordered a chocolate puffle with oreo, mochi, and fruity pebbles. It came with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. We thought it would be a weird combination but it worked. SN: when you order a puffle, you get to pick 3 toppings from the toppings list. We also ordered a matcha latte with chewy boba and cheese foam and a brown sugar latte with chewy boba. The cheese foam wasn't as sweet and flavorful as other places that I tried-I tend to like mine on the sweeter side. The brown sugar was a little too sweet for us to finish but it still wasn't bad. They have different options of boba to choose from. They also have a punch card for buy 8 drinks, get 1 free.

We had some amazing drinks here. The place looks really good, very clean and trendy. The menu was kinda confusing but the staff was really helpful so we ended up being very happy with our order.

5 stars - everything from the drink to the decor is beautiful! I prefer this place over any chain Boba shops. **I could tell from a quick look at the reviews on Yelp that the most popular and delish drink was a Brown Sugar Latte - didn't disappoint. For an extra 0.50, I got Bobas; they were soft, plentiful & most were on the bottom of the cup (be sure to mix around). It is a rather sweet drink, especially with addition of brown sugar drizzle on the side - excellent for sharing w/my hubs, which is why I got a large!** There were only two people at the shop w/the owner making the drinks and someone getting the orders. The place is minimalistic w/real plants - very pretty!

As a Gainesville bubble tea connoisseur, I am always on the prowl for more bubble tea places in town. A few months ago, I discovered Frosty Fox, a fairly new bubble tea bar. For someone who always invites her friends to get bubble tea with her (almost on the daily--oops!), I decided to give this place a try. The ambiance and interior of FF is so cute and minimalistic! It's usually fairly quiet, and would be a perfect spot to study with some friends, or just hang out. I love the decorations and the vibe of the inside whenever I am inside. The bubble tea here is pretty good and by now, there are a lot more options than before. My favorite drink either has to be the Ice Cream tea, or the Brown Sugar Latte. I would rate this place 2nd or 3rd, after TeaStori or Kung Fu Tea as it is still fairly new, but I still love it nonetheless! Definitely recommend!

I have tried a couple boba places in Gainesville and so far this was my favorite. The boba was very soft and chewy. I tried taro milk tea and loved it. I love the decor and how clean the store is.

    Strawberry shaved ice!

Okay for our first visit. We tried the Thai tea, chocolate shaved ice, strawberry shaved ice, and mango shaved ice. The Thai tea was good. I ordered regular sweetness. You could really taste the tea as it wasn't drowned out by condensed milk or anything else. I'd get it again. The three shaved ice flavors were all refreshing, but were not what we were expecting. The mango ice came with fresh mango and the strawberry ice came with fresh strawberry. The shaved ice had a stickiness and unique texture that we were not expecting. I wouldn't really consider any of the shaved ice as a substitute for traditional patbingsoo. Customer service was good, and the staff was very welcoming. It's a cute facility, and I could see it as a nice place to sit and work/study. However, power is only available on the wall closest to the high top seating.

Oolong milk tea with foam cheese and plain egg puffle

I ordered a plain egg waffle just to try out since I was not from the area. Drink came out quick after the order however the tea was very much watered down from the ice. The egg waffle was hot and fresh and smelled good however the consistency of the egg batter was quite doughy n not fluffy as I'm used to. Normally it's supposed to be crispy on outside and fluffy soft inside. Service was fast and pleasant. Ambiance was very relaxing and quiet. Clean place to get some work done but as for the drink and food, I prob won't crave for.

Chocolate egg puddle with vanilla ice cream, condensed milk syrup, chocolate pocky, brownie, and Oreo cookie

Boyfriend and I wanted something sweet and cold to battle this hot sun. I decided to come here for their delicious egg puffles. As usual, they always go above and beyond with making my order. I believe it was the owner that made my order and he was very meticulous and treated it like art. Thank you for making our day!

Got one of the mock tails - tastes pretty good, never had a fizzy boba drink before and I enjoyed the taste. Nice place, wish there were more outlets but overall clean and very millennial.

Lychee snow with butter waffle cookie, mochis, and caramel stroopwaffel
    Sonya S.

OK. So the four stars is because I do think they have a very good product and atmosphere, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to come here very often because the portion size (and consequently the price) only makes sense for me if I'm sharing. The plus side: I love shaved ice (I just realized this is my third shaved ice Yelp review, but 1. I love it and 2. it's not like I can eat ice cream without taking a handful of pills) and their shaved ice is really nice and fine and smooth almost to the point of being creamy. I also love lychee, so it's nice to have that available as a flavor choice. They also give you LOTS of toppings, so in addition to the two actual (canned) lychee fruit you also get your choice of three extras. I was very happy with my choices, especially the butter waffle cookie. I would buy those to eat by themselves. HOWEVER. However, at $6.42 and big enough to split with a friend, this doesn't really fit into my world. At Charlie's I can spend $3 and get enough so that I don't feel like I'm wasting anything. I feel guilty spending $6.42 on a treat that is basically just sugar and happiness. Hope this doesn't come off too whiny! As I said, it's a good product, it's just basically twice the portion size of what fits into my life. Will share one with a friend next time I'm in the area with someone who can agree on a flavor with me :P

The staff member was super nice when I walked and immediately welcoming and friendly. I went with the brown sugar milk tea with boba and upgraded to almond milk for my milk choice. The prices are pretty reasonable and he informed his favorite boba was a seasonal one, the hami melon boba tea which sounded good and will try soon! This boba tea was surprisingly not super sweet at all. It was very creamy and delicious. It had a subtle hint of brown sugar and the boba tasted like it soaked up the brown sugar flavoring. I highly recommend this drink. However, be mindful of trying to get to this place if you're a local as it's that time of the year (aka football season). I also tried the tiramisu mousse cake. The green tea was really tasty, the tiramisu mousse was just okay IMO. Why I left a four star review: There weren't a lot of dairy-free milk options, the price point was a tad high, and there are too many other boba tea shops in Gainesville with a better price point and flavors.

So the fact that I'm giving this place 5 stars means this place is stellar. It's not a place I would even expect to exist in a small place like Gainseville, let alone be THIS GOOD. BUT this place is THAT GOOD. The cakes were all LA tier, maybe even Taiwan/China tier, which is Saying SOMETHING!!! I travel a lot and my experience with asian stores in small towns has always been subpar. It might look authentic, etc but then the taste will disappoint and I'm reminded why the 626 in LA is known as an Asian food haven. But this store tasted straight out of the 626. I walked in looking for Asian desserts because I can only go so long existing on wypipo food tbh. I noticed there's a nice new Chinese market next door and the staff inside was all Chinese, speaking Mandarin - very encouraging. I looked at the cakes. They looked legit! Real Asian cake store level. But I still told myself to lower my expectations with the taste so I wouldn't be disappointed later. I bought four cakes and two drinks. Would have bought food too but their kitchen was closed (I came 30 mins before closing). Tbh, the drinks are just fine. I've had better, these were a tiny bit watered down - but still decent. The guava and lychee flavors we got were very prevalent and there was a fresh lime slice in mine. But the cakes!!! The cakes are 5 star. The cakes are LA worthy. TAIPEI worthy. What is this store doing in Gainseville?? I sure hope they survive. I have to come back to Gainseville often for medical events, so - I will be coming to this store EACH TIME. Please, please stay open for me. ;) The cakes are perfectly light, soft, not too sweet. (If you know Asian desserts you'll know what I'm talking about). The mochi layers inside were perfectly done, sweet, smooth, very QQ. Everything from the injeolmi flavor to taro paste to mango gelatin layers - all the flavors were there in just the right way. The textures - perfect. Lady M can't compete with the crepe cakes. The basque was cooked to PERFECTION. The mochi round cakes - like eating Taro clouds. This is not an amateur bakery, folks. This bakery know what they're doing. You have a gem here, Gainseville. I literally logged into Yelp to leave this review for them. Please do yourself a favor and try their cakes - Try them ALL. Experience the beauty of Asian desserts. I feel like every single thing here will be done perfectly. I know I'm gonna keep coming back to try more!

Before I say yes to boba tea, though, I ask the waitress for their dessert menu and they sent me to BC Boba Tea & Ice Cream. Apparently Swamp Boil doesn't serve dessert. Anyway, this cute little tea shop also sells some snacks and ice cream. Given my friend wanting some boba tea, the desire was contagious and I wanted one, too. I also figured it made more sense for the road as I had many hours until I would reach South Florida. He ordered an oolong milk tea with boba while I ordered a strawberry green tea with boba. Both were refreshing, but I think I'm happy I stuck with the strawberry green tea. Milk and long car rides aren't good companions and that's with me not being lactose intolerant. Anyhow, the service was fine, a bit cold perhaps, but it is what it is. They have a lovely mural on site and I'm generally curious if this and Swamp Boil are owned by the same person. At any rate, I would go back if in the area.

The ramen had a decent broth, and the portion was filling. The broth was creamy but lacked the deep, slow-simmered richness you'd expect. The noodles had a good texture but weren't as firm and chewy as fresh ramen should be. The toppings--tender pork, green onions, and an egg--were satisfying. I wish the pork was as melt-in-your-mouth as proper chashu. It's a convenient option if you're already there, but for a truly rich tonkotsu experience, I'd go elsewhere. The Crab Rangoons were crispy and had a nice balance of creamy and savory filling. The topping selection doesn't disappoint either. I decided on seaweed salad, avocado, kani salad, edamame, scallions, and bean sprouts. For my dressing/sauce, I went with the citrus ponzu.
