The owner was incredibly sweet and answered all of our questions! She made a slightly different drink than I ordered, but I was not going to mention it as the drink was great! However, on our way out she stopped me and gave me the right drink and apologized! My girlfriend got the banh mi pate and could not stop raving about it! The bonus is, you support a mother and her son by buying at this small business! :)

I'm not one for writing critical reviews but this one is a must. I have had matcha boba tea everywhere. I know how it's supposed to taste and the texture of the boba is supposed to be. But this isn't it. The boba were all stuck together and I couldn't even get it through the straw. Which was very disappointing. The cafe is beautiful inside and that is why I wanted to give it a try. But even though my drink was made correctly I see such potential in this place. The workers are very nice and kind but the service is very slow. Which is understandable when you have online orders but I was the only customer there and I ordered one item. I waited at least 20 minutes for my boba. I hope the improvements will be put in place and I will return again and try another boba in the future.

Tyummi very new in Gainesville. They serve boba tea and Vietnamese food Ana Banh Mi. They use to have popcorn chicken but the day I visited do not have it. I was having layover before get back to Tampa. I decided to stop here to get a drink due summer heat and bathroom break. I got the brown sugar boba tea. I got almond milk due to my stomach cannot take daily milk condition. The drink was prepare with not much of wait. After one sip. Here are my comments. The boba is not soft enough. It is actually tough to chew. May be they didn't cook long enough. The milk tea is a bit low in tea smell or fragrance. These are the two points that they need to improve. Good brown sugar taste.

If you're looking to try Vietnamese food, you definitely need to add Tyummi onto your spots in Gainesville to hit up! My mom and I attended the GCM Festival last month and they were one of the vendors that I had a great foodie experience with. I figured I'd give it another try, and oh I'm so happy I did! When walking into the restaurant, they have this millennial pink aesthetic that's so Instagram worthy. I walked in knowing I wanted to order a banh mi since I had it before but wanted to try some other food options. I glanced over at a DoorDash order and saw this bright orange drink with mangoes on top and had to immediately asked the server what this was. She told me it was the mangonada smoothie - and instantly added that to my order. In addition, I ordered a lemongrass chicken banh and the signature pho noodle soup bowl with chicken and all of the topping. I will say ordering is very easy and quick, however the wait time - was a little long. However, I do understand they make their food fresh as you can watch them prepare your meal. The mangonada smoothie is hands down one of my favorite drinks that I've had in a long time. Immediately you taste the sweetness of the mango with the contrast of the chamoy and tajin seasoning. The dipped straw is covered in the chamoy and tajin seasoning and just compliments it so well. Once I was home, I dove into the pho noodle bowl as the temperature was chilly outside. The broth is very clean tasting and adding the lime to the broth really hit the spot. Now, the lemongrass chicken banh mi is so flavorful. The baguette is very crisp and soft, and airy in texture. For the toppings, my favorite is that pickled carrot and daikon. That elevated this Vietnamese sandwich for me. I highly recommend ordering from Tyummi if you're looking to try some Vietnamese staples in Gainesville!

Have come here so many times. Love the teas. I want to try their lunch one time but I always go for the tea. My go to is the passion fruit but this time I went with the paradise tea. Cute and cozy inside, quick service. This time however, I think there was some mold on one of my fruit pieces. Either that or just a weird looking seed?

Today is the soft opening of T-Yummi and while they have a limited menu of 2 standard Vietnamese sandwiches, they pull them off rather well. The reason they lose a star is that there was a lack of meat in the sandwich. All the fresh vegetable flavors overpowered what little meat that was in the bhan mi. And now to the main attraction, the Boba tea (milk tea)! I chose the brown sugar milk tea because for me it is the standard and once again, they did a great job. Not too sweet and a very good balance of flavors. You will definitely enjoy eating every single tapioca ball until none are left. The interior is very modern and has clean lines throughout. There's even a fun looking selfie station that I'm sure will get used a lot.

My favorite tea bar in Gainesville. The food is always fresh and the drinks are creatively crafted. The pretty packaging is a plus!

Tyummi is the newest Vietnamese place in town, serving bahn mi, pho, and boba. The thing that differentiates them from other places is the ability to build your own bahn mi, which I really appreciate. And boy are they big sandwiches. You definitely get your money's worth here. My biggest issue is the wait time for food. I understand that they have not been open for long but it seems like they just don't have enough staff. Multiple times I saw people switching through stations to help out and it caused a lot of slowdown in multiple areas. Do not come here expecting to get in and out quickly. I would recommend calling in pickup. The food is very worth it, it's just slow.

Loving the cute decor at this place!

Wow, I have been meaning to try this place ever since it launched with the soft opening in February! I never got around because of how busy it always was, but I finally managed to sneak in for a late lunch! Instantly, I was blown away by how trendy the interior was! Obviously not every place needs to look cute, but it's always a plus! Everything was super clean and polished--and pink (my favorite color)! We took our orders with the super sweet staff and then sat down to wait. I ordered a plain Bánh Mì with Pork Slices, as well as a Peach Fruit Tea with Boba. My boyfriend got the Phỏ with Meatballs. After a short wait, we received our food! The tea for me was perfectly sweet and refreshing, and the boba texture was very soft and chewy, reminiscent of Kung Fu Tea's texture, which I love. The bánh mì was pretty good, but the bread was a little dry and the pork slices were different than what I was used to (I usually get grilled pork at bánh mì places). Still yummy nonetheless! I tried the phở and while the broth was pretty bland, the meat and noodles were good! Overall, I am looking forward to coming back as well as see what plans they have for the future! I'm always excited to try up and coming restaurants, and I hope T-YUMMÌ will be a Gainesville staple!

Is that fresh daikon, carrot, and cilantro?? Yes it is!

Happened to find out about bánh mì organically from some daytime show on network TV. Googled and discovered there's a local Vietnamese spot which seems to focus on bubble tea and similar beverages, but also offers a small range of their own fresh, homemade appetizer-slash-lunch dishes. Ordered the bánh mì sandwich with lemongrass-(clearly marinated)-beef along with pickled carrot slivers and daikon radish. This was among several toppings one of which could be added. Also got three (3) spring rolls in rice flour wrap also with carrot, daikon, and fresh cilantro, and unlike with the sandwich their online menu lets you add any or all the available toppings. Was pleasantly surprised to discover this nook in the Butler Center cranny, which notably unlike certain smoothie places that keep the odd chicken or other wrap or panini at arm's length just in case actually appears to prep things for their sensibly limited menu on deck for the day. I have yet to try any of their drinks, given my primary mission was to acquire and destroy bánh mì, and destroy it my wife and I did, with relish, on top of the particularly garlicky Tom Yum style T-sauce which melded excellently with the rolls. Maybe I will get us a beverage or two next time. One withheld for that reason, but food-wise, five stars well deserved!

    Signature Rolls

I've come here before and the signature rolls are delicious! I always get mine with tofu (they have honey btw!). The pho however is not my favorite. My boyfriend liked his chicken pho but the veggie one was not it.

Sadly this place missed the mark for me. Opted to get a Taro milk tea as I do at new places to be able to have a basis for comparison. I asked for it to be 75% sweet and it tasted as if there were extra sweetness instead of less. Unfortunately, there was very few boba present in the drink and it was very chalky and tasted of straight mix. Considering the prices are higher than other places in town and the quality is below par, I would say there are far better options elsewhere in town. As others have mentioned, the wait time was also excessive as I waited 20 minutes for 1 drink.

Undercooked or possibly reused from yesterday's batch. Boba is known for being hard as a rock if not cooked fresh

The boa buns were soft, the pork was cooked perfectly, and the hoisin sauce at the bottom of the bun was amazing. There were vegetables on top, including cucumbers that tasted sweet and carrots. The vegetables were fresh and tasted great with everything else. We also ordered the crab Rangoon which I personally really liked. I don't like fish, and this crab Rangoon must have had a large amount of cream cheese base. I personally really enjoyed it since the crab wasn't very prominent. The filling was creamy, the Rangoon was crunchy, and the sweet and spicy sauce it came with made a perfect combo. For our meal, we ordered the chicken pad Thai. Unfortunately, it didn't really meet our expectations. The pad Thai was sitting on top of a sauce at the bottom, which tasted like a hoisin sauce base. The taste was very minimal, which was disappointing. The noodles were soft, almost like they were overcooked. The chicken was cooked well and lightly seasoned (which worked perfectly for the pad Thai). The vegetables on top of the pad Thai were also very fresh and you could tell they were freshly cut. The lack of peanut/pad thai taste was the most disappointing part that unfortunately lost it for us. The service was good. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and were able to select our own table. The inside is decently small, with around 8 tables.

We started with the wonton soup, which was visually beautiful. The broth had a rich, inviting color and the wontons themselves were excellent -- thin, delicate wrappers with a very flavorful filling. Unfortunately, the broth itself was a bit underwhelming and lacked depth. A touch of hot mustard helped bring it to life, but it needed more natural flavor on its own. The standout dish of the meal was the Mu Shu Pork. Absolutely fantastic. The portion was generous and the flavor reminded us of classic Mu Shu from WoHop in NYC's Chinatown -- high praise. The pancakes were incredibly thin, almost paper-like and nearly translucent, yet soft and perfect for wrapping. This dish alone makes us want to come back. The Bang Bang noodles were another dish that looked beautiful when served, but the flavor didn't quite match the presentation. The sauce seemed watered down and there was quite a bit of liquid in the bowl, which muted the overall taste. It felt very close to being great, just not fully there yet. Overall, this was a mixed but promising first visit. There's clearly real skill in the kitchen, and when the flavors hit, they hit well. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying more dishes -- and we'll happily update this review after our next visit.

Oh my god, I took a single bite and didn't speak to my friend for 15 minutes as I continued munching it down. It was amazing. The vermicelli comes underneath this mound of pork holy grail, and while I'm used to having my vermicelli with these bowls cold and a bit thinner, and there being significantly more noodles than meat ratio, I'm thrilled to say that not this bowl - this bowl was 60% pork, 30% noodle, and 10% veggie. I'm taking every bite with 2-3 pieces of pork. I'm soaking up the juices with the noodles. I'm crunching on a few cucumbers to balance it out. I'm savoring every piece. Absolutely wonderful. Now, Mala Tang and Mala Xiang Guo both come from Sichuan as far as I'm aware, so they're spicy--and the other food here is, too. I got some food to take away from the bar including Kung Pao chicken, lion's head meatballs (pork, no lions were harmed!), eggplant, and lo mein. The lion's head meatballs were excellent, the Kung Pao chicken very spicy and very good, the eggplant a bit soggy but alright, the lo mein . . . well, no better than most strip mall quick Chinese places, honestly. Still, it was good overall and this is very nice to have a place for take-away in the grocery store--it's also beside the boba tea and mochi donut counter so you can get your dessert and just everything in one fell swoop here. I did find it, as someone who cooks a lot of Chinese food myself, rather bemusing that they aced the tricky dishes and yet pretty much botched the lo mein which should have been the easiest part of the menu.

I would not try spicy or extra spicy unless you are familiar with spicy east asian food.
