I've come to Vietnamese Grille several times before, but most recently this past month. There has been a hiatus since my last visit, but the quality is still incredible and portion sizes are great. From ordering to receiving food, it took about 10 minutes in total. As I sat down, I immediately looked at all the other places that came out - the options are great. You can get Pho, Bahn Mi, Fried Rice, and even Pad Thai dish options depending on what you're looking to eat. The Pho I ordered was hot, fresh, and I couldn't finish it all in one setting. I believe I paid about $15, but it felt like a good value considering the amount of Pho included. I can eat Pho every day, and would definitely come back to Vietnamese Grille in the future (although I'll probably try their spicy soup dish next time).

Found this gem on Yelp as my family and I were craving a good banh mi. This place is located across from the stadium so parking can be tricky. However, I stopped in after 7pm sp I was able to find some street parking. This spot was busy with students and locals eating pho and other menu items. I ordered a beef pho with a side of chili oil for my Dad, and 3 chicken banh mi for each one of us. The food took about 10 - 15 minutes as it was just the husband and wife running the show. Once I arrived home, I realized their banh mi sandwich were huge. The chicken inside of the sandwich was marinated in this teriyaki sauce loaded with jalapenos, cilantro, and picked veggies. The bread was toasted perfected and had a great bite to it. Surprisingly, the marinated chicken was really good and the sandwich was stuffed with chicken which I appreciated. My mom got the burnt sandwich but enjoyed the contents of the sandwich. My dad enjoyed his pho and said he would like to go back for another bowl. Although it's a small spot, don't be fooled by its location, as they have big flavors here!

This is a hole-in-the wall across the street from FSU. On a Saturday night, surrounded by students, we enjoyed pho and drunken noodles in this cute little spot with inspirational sayings on the walls. Priced for a student budget, the food came out piping hot in profuse portions. Very yummy. My husband said he almost had too many noodles to go with his broth instead of the other way around at most pho restaurants. My drunken noodles with tofu were chewy bathed in a tasty garlicky soy sauce with veggies, topped with crispy tofu. If you are near FSU and want an affordable, satisfying Vietnamese meal, look no further.

Thank you Kit for a delicious lunch today. We definitely ordered way too much, but it was the perfect way to try everything. We especially enjoyed the pork banh mi, egg rolls and banh xeo. Everything was hot and fresh, and prepared with care.

Horrible pho. Feels like foreigners who DO know how to prepare pho simply serving a cliche pretend version to naive college kids. Broth was flavorless with none of the fresh herbs you'd expect. No other options (egg, tofu, etc.). Just blah.

Definitely lacked authenticity on these traditional Vietnamese dishes but fits the bill for affordably priced Asian cuisine with decent portions near the university.

I came here for lunch with some friends after class. We had trouble finding parking because everywhere in the area required a decal or charged for parking. We walked into the building and noticed there were a lot of other shops in the same building. I thought it was cool how they had a boba shop, bike repair store, and more. Food quality wise: 2/5. I ordered the beef pho with high expectations as I've gotten many recommendations about this place. Unfortunately, the pho broth is really bland. Even after adding the hoisin sauce and Sriracha, it was still really bland. The noodles and beef were fine, but the broth is the heart of the dish and I was really disappointed. I came with a party of 3 and we all felt the broth was really bland. I definitely think Red Rice and Taste have better broths than this place. Price wise: 4/5. It is the best bang for your buck. At $10 for a large, it's a huge portion and a decent price. After finishing the dish, I was really full, so it's definitely worth it. Other restaurants in the area have smaller portions for the same or more expensive price. The service was fast. We ordered at the counter, and they brought the food to us within 10 minutes. The restaurant was pretty empty, so I expected the service to be fast. Afterwards, you're supposed clean up after yourself and bring the dishes back to the front of the restaurant. Overall, I don't see myself returning here. Even though it's a great bang for your buck, the broth isn't for me.

Greetings fellow Pho enthusiasts. I regret to inform all of you that you need to heavily reconsider visiting this establishment. Let us start with the beginning. As I walk in, I notice a micro TV on behind the register. I really appreciated that touch. Not only was the program incredibly entertaining, the chef was participating and providing commentary. We ordered 2 Chicken pho, and the service was very quick. It took them all of 90 seconds to bring the food to our tables. Nice! But perhaps this was the first red flag I failed to notice... Mere seconds after receiving my meal, I glance down and a small black speck catches my eye. "When did they start adding sesame seeds to the broth?" I ask myself. "A comically small crouton perhaps?" But no. As much as I wish I could say that Vietnamese Grille had decided on a whim to add an extra herb to my meal, I came to the startling, disgusting conclusion that there was an infant cockroach in my Pho. I then calmly gathered myself and restrained myself from doing a flip. After a set of much-needed breathing exercises, I approached the chef and informed them of the unsolicited side item I received with my meal. Without a word, they took my meal away, and 5 minutes later, presented me with a new one. Now, for context, I'm no MERSA candidate, but my IQ is more than 50. Who in their right mind is eating anything from the same restaurant that just served a roach!!?? Quietly assuming this may be a practical joke, I politely asked for a refund. Much to my surprise and dismay, I was promptly rejected and told I should have asked for the refund as soon as I spotted the roach. I'm sorry, I wasn't aware the statute of limitations after spotting a macdaddy insect in my meal was 5 seconds. I, not wanting to cause a scene, completed another round of breathing exercises and firmly concluded I will never be coming back. If you enjoy cockroach surprises floating in your Pho, Vietnamese Grille is for you!

Found in a food hall across the street from the University of Florida, the Vietnamese Grille offers the typical selection of Vietnamese cuisine at a reasonable price. The food arrives from the kitchen rather quickly and the seating area is quite nice and complimented well by the use of warm lighting. I ordered the seafood style pho which was an assortment of squid, imitation crab, and shrimp which I thought was pretty good. My partner ordered the beef pho but felt that the broth wasn't as flavorful as she's used to.

I've had this place in my mind for a while but I wasn't able to gove it a try due to lack of parking in that area. So we decided to show up on a weekend and don't worry abou our car getting towed. When we got there the owner greeted us and we ordered and paid at the counter then sat. The restaurant was super clean and you could tell they are taking the pandemic seriously. We ordered pork dumplings for appetizer. The order comes with ten pieces which is more than what we usually get in other places. It was delicious and I recommend them. We also got sea food pho and beef pho. I preferred the beef one. The sea food pho had some shrimp, squid and crab meat pieces, the meat portion compare to the soup was little but the price is not high either. Same with the beef pho. The service was quick and the owner was very nice and friendly. I would come back to this restaurant to try other menu items.

The menu is small, but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot to offer. The food here is flavor packed and the staff is very kind. The spicy beef vermicelli is out of this world, the flavor is so authentic and the lime and fresh toppings really make it a star. Ordering this meal with a green tea has never left me dissatisfied!

It's a decent size and it was clean and most of its customers on a Sunday at lunchtime were Asian. Our servers were two young men and they were very attentive. We had the Vietnamese crepes (our favorites) that came with two smaller ones (instead of a large). The crepes were a bit thin and skimpy on the shrimp (lots of bean sprouts and maybe one shrimp cut in half in each crepe). My husband had beef pho, wish he said was tasty but lacking a decent amount of beef and tendon. I had the bun cha (rice vermicelli) with pork and fried spring rolls. The rolls were not tasty. And my dish had two small slices of pork and so many noodles I brought home a container of noodles and veggies (after scarfing down my two pieces of meat). Being from South Florida, and having travelled to Vietnam last spring, we have eaten lots of Vietnamese food. While the food was not bad, it could have been better by starting with heartier portions for the price. Lunch for 2 was about $50 including tax and tip. P.S. The fish tank was clean and very engaging!

The boa buns were soft, the pork was cooked perfectly, and the hoisin sauce at the bottom of the bun was amazing. There were vegetables on top, including cucumbers that tasted sweet and carrots. The vegetables were fresh and tasted great with everything else. We also ordered the crab Rangoon which I personally really liked. I don't like fish, and this crab Rangoon must have had a large amount of cream cheese base. I personally really enjoyed it since the crab wasn't very prominent. The filling was creamy, the Rangoon was crunchy, and the sweet and spicy sauce it came with made a perfect combo. For our meal, we ordered the chicken pad Thai. Unfortunately, it didn't really meet our expectations. The pad Thai was sitting on top of a sauce at the bottom, which tasted like a hoisin sauce base. The taste was very minimal, which was disappointing. The noodles were soft, almost like they were overcooked. The chicken was cooked well and lightly seasoned (which worked perfectly for the pad Thai). The vegetables on top of the pad Thai were also very fresh and you could tell they were freshly cut. The lack of peanut/pad thai taste was the most disappointing part that unfortunately lost it for us. The service was good. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and were able to select our own table. The inside is decently small, with around 8 tables.

There's a dark sauce they put on the sandwich too which is really good. There's are freshly sliced jalapeños so take note if you don't like spicy. They are very thinly sliced so it's not overwhelming but there's a little kick. My wife got a sandwich but also tried one of the Korean sticks. She got the stick without a hotdog. It was basically a block of cheese coated in diced potatoes, kind of like frozen breakfast potatoes you can get at the grocery store. They deep fry it so the cheese is completely melted. With…read morethat being said, most places required a reservation or you had an 1.5h wait ahead of you. After a little wandering around we found liquid ginger. The line wasn't too long inside, so we decided we would try it. They were swamped and very busy still, but the staff was doing their best to accommodate everyone. We waited in a short line for maybe 15min before reaching the hostesses table. We were lucky to get seats at the sushi bar! The interior is very nice and has a nice vibe. This place is really great for nice dinners, nights out, or a good dinner. Service was definitely off that night. Our water specifically seemed to forget about the group of us since we were seated at the sushi bar. It took her 15 to get us waters and our other drinks didn't even come out until after we got out food (a considerable time later). Like I said it was busy, the sushi bar was swamped with orders, but they were working diligently to keep up with the influx of orders. Most of us ordered sushi, so we ended up waiting a considerable amount of time for our meals. My one friend ordered an entree from the kitchen and it came out within 10 minutes of her ordering it. Our sushi was served about 20-30 minutes after her dish. This is frustrating and slightly awkward as my friend felt bad eating while the rest of us didn't have any food yet. Again, this is no fault to the sushi chefs. They were working extremely hard to produce quality sushi for all the guests. My problem came with our server, Emma. She didn't check in on us at all, didn't even serve our dishes to us, and like I said, forgot to get us drinks, etc. While this was frustrating, I do not think this is a reflection of the restaurant overall. It appeared the other serves were fine keeping up with their tables. For the food, we started with the crab rangoons and steamed pork potstickers. These came out within 10 minutes of ordering and were great starters! They each included 6 pieces per order. The crab rangoons were stuffed with ample amounts of cream cheese and crab meat. They were perfectly crispy and I thought these were some of the better Rangoons I've had. The potstickers hit the spot, but weren't anything too special, pretty standard. For my sushi, I ordered the Golden Apple Roll (per our servers recommendation) and a daily special roll called the bonzai Roll. The golden apple roll included spicy crunchy salmon, Fuji apples, mango, and mango sauce. This was decent and something different but not my favorite. 5)3 flavors were super unique but there wasn't a sweetness at all oddly like I was expecting. Instead it had a distinct tart flavor to it. Different, but not my vibe. Now the bonzai roll was a hit! This roll included tuna, salmon, kani, and avocado inside, topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and mayo, then flamed & torched, and finished with eel sauce, caviar, and scallions. There was certainly a lot going on in this one, but I could really taste all the different elements. The fish was extremely fresh and just divine. I also tried some of my friend's sashimi and was blown away with the quality of the fish--just amazing. Overall, we all loved the food here and would 100% return. The quality is quite good and the fish is melt in your mouth. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their sushi and it is evident in the taste and presentation alone. Now the service was certainly more desirable. I understand it was a very busy night, but our server just appeared to forget about us. Very disappointing as it slightly spoiled our experience and was not a good first impression. Again, we all agreed that we thought it wasn't a fair assessment of the restaurants service overall. I'm hoping next time the service is better and our server can do a better job serving us and checking in on us. I'm also surprised that she never offered to compensate anything in our bill, like our drinks that took 30+ minutes to come out and were served well after we had received our food. But it's not the end of the world. I would still recommend coming here, I actually think their sushi is better than Dragon Flys, better priced, and dare I say higher quality!

Such a great vibe and the food was fresh. All the sauce options are unique and tasty too.read more

There is plenty of seating and the staff is very friendly. Since it is located in Midtown, parking could be tricky. It wasn't super busy when we arrived, but it seems to be a popular spot amongst college students. The menu offers a nice variety of asian dishes and they also serve breakfast/brunch on the daily. The interior appeared sort of "run down", but in the best way possible. It was still inviting and provided for a nice, laid back sort of meal. The food doesn't take too long to come out either and it is made fresh to order. We ended up ordering the steamed dumplings as an appetizer. I also ordered a cup of miso soup. The dish comes with 5 decent size dumplings. They are handmade and packed with filling. I appreciated the flavorful pork and the amount of it in them. My miso soup was pretty standard, nothing too special. But is hit the spot on a chilly evening. For our entrees, my friend ordered the beef udon, while I ordered the Lemongrass chicken. The portions are pretty large and we found it to be quite filling. My friend said this was some of the best udon she'd had. The broth was very flavorful, the beef was tender, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The only thing she didn't like as much was the fried egg, opposed to the more traditional hard boiled egg. My lemongrass chicken was satisfying as well. It came with a copious amount of chicken, with a really tangy sauce over it. The rice was overcooked, which was disappointing. Overall, Bagels and Noodles is a wonderful asian eatery located in Midtown. Its location is prime for college students and I can see why it is so popular. The service is very good and personable. The "hole in the wall" feel of the restaurant makes the atmosphere! The food is made with lots of love and it was served fresh and hot. The dumplings are amazing and I would recommend. My friend is already dying to come back and explore more of their noodle dishes. I will definitely be returning and look forward to trying more things!
