    P7. Crispy Noodle
    Sagarika G.

We were driving past Gainesville and were craving Thai food so decided to stop by and grab a bite at Wah Ha Ha. It's attached to a motel with lots of free parking, plenty of seating inside, and a very diverse menu! The service was super quick, we were in and out in less than an hour. All of us ended up getting the crispy noodle with chicken (which is one of their most popular dishes!) The spice levels are mild, medium, hot, and Thai hot. I got the hot and that was perfect for me! The dish was a bed of noodles on a hot, spicy broth with lots of veggies and chicken. The noodles were thin and crispy but once soaked in the broth, they became soft. The veggies tasted amazing - they were super fresh, crispy, and soaked with flavor from the broth. The chicken was tender and juicy and went really well with the whole dish. I do wish that I got more broth. I feel like the noodles and vegetables soaked most of the broth and I didn't have much left to drink. The broth was super yummy though! It had a Manchurian-like flavor which was delicious! Next time, I would love to try the drunken noodles or fried rice! Overall, really nice hole-in-the-wall type spot with yummy Thai food!

This was the best yellow curry I've ever had in my entire life. It's been almost a week and I still crave it. The service was good and our waitress made sure we were doing ok. The location is kind of at an angle so if you're passing by too fast you may miss it since it's right next to an inn. The ambiance was clean and the music was really good. I also enjoyed the candy they gave us at the end. I'm definitely going back soon and I'm so happy a friend recommended this place for a girls night out. Looking forward to the other dishes they have.

Decided to check this hole in the wall looking Thai place on 13th road. Yes it looks a bit sketchy from outside, but as the saying goes, never judge the book by its cover. This place has a variety of different menu options to choose from and we decided to get pad see ew, chicken wings, tom yam soup, chicken wings, and Masaman curry. All were delicious and made with fresh ingredients with the exception of Masaman curry, which had overpowering peanut taste. Still, we really enjoyed other foods otherwise. Recommend checking this place out for Thai/Asian cuisine when you crave Asian food!

The food was nice and hot and was pretty good, though the pad Thai tasted a little off. It was definitely not the best pad Thai and just had a weird flavor to it. The krab rangoon, however, was delicious but the sauce it came with was just alright. The ordering process over the phone is pretty easy, but it did take a little while for the food to be ready. The staff was very kind though and the inside of the place is nice! I'd come back and try a different dish:)

RED CURRY w/ tiny bit of chicken & veg/tiniest portion of rice ever / Chicken Pad Thai that had more tofu filler than chicken

Delicious Food at ripoff prices in the most insultingly small portions. This place makes great tasting Thai. It was my family's go to Thai spot. But this is just a ripoff. $30 of takeout and it was sparse at best. I understand inflation. Price increases everywhere are normal but they hit you with a double whammy, PRICE INCREASE and PORTIONS CUT IN HALF. Its really sad because the flavors are so good but our red curry was more of a red curry soup with a tiny bit of veggies and chicken. Our chicken pad thai had more tofu than chicken. And to top it off the rice wouldnt have even been enough to fill one of those tiny chinese carryout boxes. I used to reccomend this place to everyone but now I WOULD RECCOMEND YOU STEER CLEAR. Wah Ha Ha is the sound of them laughing at anyone who pays this much to get ripped off.

I ordered takeout from Wah Ha Ha one Saturday while at work. I got the chicken pad Thai and it was about average in flavor (you can choose mild, medium, hot, or Thai hot spice levels). There could stand to be a bit more for $12.95 but I think this becomes one of those instances where you don't get as much food for a takeout order than you would if you ate in-house. Their menu is pretty large with lots of other options I would like to try, so I anticipate going to Wah Ha Ha again someday.

Don't let the outside keep you from coming inside! We stopped here on our 2 day road trip from Houston to Sarasota for lunch. My husband looked up Thai food and this restaurant popped up. The fried chicken cabbage spring rolls were amazing! Nice and peppery flavor! My husband got the beef Thai salad and I got the chicken panang curry. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. We're used to awesome Thai coming from Houston - and this lived up to what we're used to. Nice and quiet with friendly waitress!

$12.95 is a little pricey I thought but overall I enjoyed it and with the trip if you gave never tried Thai. I would recommend a little smaller portion and a small soup lunch student/ veteran/ senior special priced around $8.95 and then you might have to stand in line to get in.

Definitely hole in the wall restaurant. I almost drove past before I saw the sign. I have never been inside the dining room since I always get takeout. The service is really fast; in less than 10-15 minutes they had my order ready. I always get the Pad See Ew in mild which is enough spice for me. It is really good food for the price you pay. Also, they do not take Apple pay so make sure you bring your card in.

The food is INCREDIBLE. Service was fine.. ambiance was truly interesting.. old beat up motel semi-remodel, dark and unique.. felt like I was going underground to some secret eatery in nyc.. the food is SO GOOD you won't care that they don't have Perrier water. You also won't care that there's no sunlight or that the furniture is very old.. feels dark and dingy But IT SMELLS GOOD.. amazing actually. I was considering going one more time before going back to nyc! A true underground gem in Gainesville

Sometimes Thai iced tea can feel too sugary or too strong, but this one was smooth and refreshing, like the ideal finish to the meal. It stayed cold and flavorful even after I left the restaurant. The service was warm, the portions were great, and everything tasted super fresh. Easily one of my favorite Thai spots in Gainesville.

Arriving an hour before closing time, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and seamless seating despite the quiet atmosphere. The staff made me feel like a valued guest regardless of the hour. I was seated inside, though there is an outdoor patio. However, with the lack of customers and the late hour, it felt better to sit inside this time around. The decor is pretty typical for a Thai restaurant... lots of reds and gold and the ever present dragons. The standout of the evening was undoubtedly the Tom Yum soup. It was bold, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. It alone is worth a return visit. The summer roll was decent but fell a little short of its potential. The shrimp felt sparse, and an overly generous hand with the cucumber threw off the harmony of flavors I was hoping for. My green curry hit all the right flavor notes, but the portion felt slightly unbalanced. A bit more curry to accompany the rice would have made it a truly satisfying main. Minor criticisms aside, Bangkok Square delivers a genuinely enjoyable Thai dining experience. The highs are high enough that I'll certainly be back.

We started with the wonton soup, which was visually beautiful. The broth had a rich, inviting color and the wontons themselves were excellent -- thin, delicate wrappers with a very flavorful filling. Unfortunately, the broth itself was a bit underwhelming and lacked depth. A touch of hot mustard helped bring it to life, but it needed more natural flavor on its own. The standout dish of the meal was the Mu Shu Pork. Absolutely fantastic. The portion was generous and the flavor reminded us of classic Mu Shu from WoHop in NYC's Chinatown -- high praise. The pancakes were incredibly thin, almost paper-like and nearly translucent, yet soft and perfect for wrapping. This dish alone makes us want to come back. The Bang Bang noodles were another dish that looked beautiful when served, but the flavor didn't quite match the presentation. The sauce seemed watered down and there was quite a bit of liquid in the bowl, which muted the overall taste. It felt very close to being great, just not fully there yet. Overall, this was a mixed but promising first visit. There's clearly real skill in the kitchen, and when the flavors hit, they hit well. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying more dishes -- and we'll happily update this review after our next visit.

With…read morethat being said, most places required a reservation or you had an 1.5h wait ahead of you. After a little wandering around we found liquid ginger. The line wasn't too long inside, so we decided we would try it. They were swamped and very busy still, but the staff was doing their best to accommodate everyone. We waited in a short line for maybe 15min before reaching the hostesses table. We were lucky to get seats at the sushi bar! The interior is very nice and has a nice vibe. This place is really great for nice dinners, nights out, or a good dinner. Service was definitely off that night. Our water specifically seemed to forget about the group of us since we were seated at the sushi bar. It took her 15 to get us waters and our other drinks didn't even come out until after we got out food (a considerable time later). Like I said it was busy, the sushi bar was swamped with orders, but they were working diligently to keep up with the influx of orders. Most of us ordered sushi, so we ended up waiting a considerable amount of time for our meals. My one friend ordered an entree from the kitchen and it came out within 10 minutes of her ordering it. Our sushi was served about 20-30 minutes after her dish. This is frustrating and slightly awkward as my friend felt bad eating while the rest of us didn't have any food yet. Again, this is no fault to the sushi chefs. They were working extremely hard to produce quality sushi for all the guests. My problem came with our server, Emma. She didn't check in on us at all, didn't even serve our dishes to us, and like I said, forgot to get us drinks, etc. While this was frustrating, I do not think this is a reflection of the restaurant overall. It appeared the other serves were fine keeping up with their tables. For the food, we started with the crab rangoons and steamed pork potstickers. These came out within 10 minutes of ordering and were great starters! They each included 6 pieces per order. The crab rangoons were stuffed with ample amounts of cream cheese and crab meat. They were perfectly crispy and I thought these were some of the better Rangoons I've had. The potstickers hit the spot, but weren't anything too special, pretty standard. For my sushi, I ordered the Golden Apple Roll (per our servers recommendation) and a daily special roll called the bonzai Roll. The golden apple roll included spicy crunchy salmon, Fuji apples, mango, and mango sauce. This was decent and something different but not my favorite. 5)3 flavors were super unique but there wasn't a sweetness at all oddly like I was expecting. Instead it had a distinct tart flavor to it. Different, but not my vibe. Now the bonzai roll was a hit! This roll included tuna, salmon, kani, and avocado inside, topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and mayo, then flamed & torched, and finished with eel sauce, caviar, and scallions. There was certainly a lot going on in this one, but I could really taste all the different elements. The fish was extremely fresh and just divine. I also tried some of my friend's sashimi and was blown away with the quality of the fish--just amazing. Overall, we all loved the food here and would 100% return. The quality is quite good and the fish is melt in your mouth. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their sushi and it is evident in the taste and presentation alone. Now the service was certainly more desirable. I understand it was a very busy night, but our server just appeared to forget about us. Very disappointing as it slightly spoiled our experience and was not a good first impression. Again, we all agreed that we thought it wasn't a fair assessment of the restaurants service overall. I'm hoping next time the service is better and our server can do a better job serving us and checking in on us. I'm also surprised that she never offered to compensate anything in our bill, like our drinks that took 30+ minutes to come out and were served well after we had received our food. But it's not the end of the world. I would still recommend coming here, I actually think their sushi is better than Dragon Flys, better priced, and dare I say higher quality!
