Tup Thim Thai absolutely hit the spot. I ordered the Massaman curry and it was perfect. The rich coconut milk, tender potatoes, carrots, onions, and those cashew nuts made every bite feel cozy and comforting. So flavorful without being heavy. I had some leftovers and took it home and the next day it was even more flavorful. I started with a jasmine tea, which was soothing and fragrant, and couldn't resist grabbing a Thai iced tea to go... no regrets. Creamy, sweet, and perfectly balanced. Sometimes Thai iced tea can feel too sugary or too strong, but this one was smooth and refreshing, like the ideal finish to the meal. It stayed cold and flavorful even after I left the restaurant. Came here with my roommate right before the end of the semester and enjoyed a great meal here! I had been here once before with my mom. We really liked the food here and thought it was very yummy! With that being said, I was super excited to finally return with my roommate. It wasn't super busy when we went for lunch, but the service was just as good as I remembered. They are understaffed, but they do a great job trying to keep up with everyone. Our waiter was the sweetest and I thought she did an excellent job! She was actually the same one from my last visit. Located in Midtown, it is right by campus which is super convenient. But if you do have a car, it could be tricky finding a parking space. We ended up ordering the lunch size Beef Pad See Ew and some sushi. I have never had their sushi, but remembered their noodle dishes being really good! The Pad Sew Ew was consisted of stir fried flat rice noodles with egg, carrots, and broccoli in a brown sauce with beef. Really, really loved the savory flavors of this dish. The noodles were cooked nicely, the beef was flavorful and tender, the vegetables were cooked well, and the dish itself wasn't overly saucy. Very good and we both really liked it. It also was the perfect size for the two of us to split! For our sushi, my roommate ended up ordering some nigiri while I ordered a specialty roll and some seaweed salad. I landed on the Three Knights Roll which included tuna, salmon, cucumber, avocado, topped with yellowtail, tobiko, eel sauce, and spicy kimchi sauce. This roll was really tasty and balanced. There wasn't too much rice or too much sauce. I thought they put a nice amount of fish in the roll as well. My roommate and I agreed the fish was very fresh as well I was impressed with the sushi and wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was! Might become our sushi spot in Midtown from here on out. Overall, Tup Tim Thai didn't disappoint and we left very satisfied with our meal. The service is great and our waiter did a wonderful job and was attentive. I really enjoy the atmosphere too, I think it completes the experience when dining here. The food was just as good as I remembered. The Pad See Ew was balanced, with the right amount of noodles, sauce, meat, and vegetables. We both thoroughly enjoyed our sushi and were impressed with the freshness of it as well as the presentation. With that being said, we 100% will be returning. So I stopped in here late Friday night to indulge in my latest craving, drunken noodles. There were not many people dining in however, the foot traffic consisted of locals and students did using a delivery service or takeout as it's very close to campus. The interior was clean and decorated with different trinkets that represented the Asian culture/aesthetics. I glanced over the menu which had a great variety of traditional Thai dishes to sushi. I went with miso soup and drunken noodles with fried tofu as my protein. The servers were nice and helpful. The miso was very light and good. I like that it small pieces of tofu unlike most miso soups that have larger tofu pieces in it. I have to say the portion sizes here are huge but for a great price. The drunken noodles were delicious! The sauce was a great balance of that sweet and spicy flavor . The chewy noodles and fresh veggies were coated perfectly in that amazing sauce as well. The fried tofu was so good too. It soaked up the sauce and I really couldn't stop eating it. I did end up getting my soup and noodles to go because the portions were big. I spent about $19 after tax, which was not bad. Overall, I will definitely make another trip here to Tup Tim as the food was very fresh and tasty, and the portion size in addition to the price were great. read more

Thai food for people who haven't had Thai food. Meaning it's a bit bland and middle-of-the-road. Safe to try as a gateway Pad Thai, but not bursting with spice or flavor. We came here for lunch and decided to try their panang curry and pad see ew, which are two of the common Thai dishes. The Pad see ew was little too salty but ingredients were fresh. I absolutely love tup tim thai! They might have had some questionable experiences or issues/news, but I personally have never had a bad or rude experience in the 10+ visits as a college student. The restaurant is quite clean and the servers are always nice (sometimes very busy). I love the tup tim sampler and always got the chicken drunken noodles (medium) and it hits the spot every time. The portions are huge and I almost always have leftovers. My friend has had some weird tasting tofu in her drunken noodles on a few of our visits, but overall still delicious. Though I haven't tried them, I also heard the thai tea and the mango sticky rice are a must for sweet treats. read more

The sushi pad Thai combo is so wonderful (pad Thai is not a 10/10 but for the price it's pretty good). Sushi is also pretty good!! Nothing super special tasting but again, the combo is a great bang for ur buck, it's quick service, their soup is always good, and it's conveniently located especially when u walk from campus! The Pad Thai is great in flavor, however the cooks CANNOT get the spice level consistent at all. Often my friends and I might order all types from zero spice to hot, and none will be spicy. Or the opposite -- They'll ALL be spicy. Just today my friend and I ordered one hot and one mild, and both were very spicy. We were passing through Gainesville on a road trip. Stopped here for dinner. I really enjoyed the Tom Ka Guy soup. It was super creamy and coconutty. My husband had the crispy duck. He gives it a 3.5 out of 5. The Yum Beef Salad was not my thing. It was a dish I had never had before. So it's not that the salad was bad, it just was not something my taste buds enjoyed. But still very delicious and flavorful. Freshly made. My main was the pad see ew with chicken. It was a bit middling but good. A bit sweet and not much spice despite asking for hot. But it was good. I decided to update my review because I have had some not-so-great experiences. The main thing is that the wait for take out orders is not reliable at all. Each time I have ordered, they said around a 40 minute wait, which is understandable if they are busy, but when I got there on time, I still had to wait around 30-40 extra minutes to actually get my food. This was not a problem of my own, as there were 3-4 people all waiting for our orders. They either need to give a more accurate wait time or make sure that the takeout orders are prepared in a timely manner (as the sit down orders are). They seemed to be understaffed currently as there was no one in charge of greeting and checking the takeout orders, so servers had to rush back and forth in a disorganized way. I remembered the Drunken Noodles to be very good here so I decided to get some for takeout, but I was very disappointed with it tasting so different. It used to be really flavorful and spicy, but even though I ordered it spicy this time, it was not spicy at all. It seems like they changed the recipe as there were chopped tomatoes and a slight curry flavor to it. I liked that there were a variety of vegetables and the portion was large, but it was missing that soy sauce and spicy flavor that it once had.
