We used to have a contract another pest control company, but me, my kids and my dogs were still getting ticks on us. I called them and they came to take care of it, but after one tick free month they started coming back. Granted, we live by the treeline, but if I'm paying for pest control I want the pests to actually be controlled. A while after cancelling my contract with GreenStar and trying to treat for ticks with stuff from home depot with mediocre results, a Frontline representative knocked on my door. He seemed like a good guy and promised that Frontline could granulate my entire yard and make sure there would be no ticks as part of their standard exterior and interior combined service. I decided to try going with their termite monitoring plan too just in case. He claimed some of my neighbors were already FL customers so he gave me a group discount on the initial service and stated the only string attached to the contract was that if I chose to leave within a year I would just have to pay back the discount. Okay, fine. Anyway, their tech Monte came to perform the initial service and he was actually quite personable. He did everything the rep said he would as well as paying special attention to certain problem areas I indicated when I walked him around the house. We're well into our second year with Frontline. The only incident we've had was some ants outside the garage. We called the office and scheduled an appointment in a few days with the secretary. A tech came and took care of them. It wasn't Monte, but he got rid of the ants. We haven't had any other issues with them. When a pest control service works as effectively as Frontline does, the peace of mind is absolutely worth it. Anyone who lives in NoVA knows the plentiful bugs here can be a huge nuisance (and even a legitimate concern when it comes to ticks and black widows). My kids can play all over the lawn and I don't ever worry about them getting bitten by anything harmful. Monte even treats the lawn with a snake repellent every time he comes out. I haven't been seeing those copperheads lurking around my shed anymore. That's absolutely worth roughly $40 a month to me. Much cheaper than individual treatments for certain pests or medical bills for lyme disease and venomous snake or spider bites. Not to mention relief from swatting duty. I never really hated bugs like some people--such as my wife and kids--do, but I certainly didn't fully anticipate what a relief and a luxury it would be to not have to deal with them. Before Frontline we had previously used GreenStar and Terminix, and still had plenty of pest flare ups. With FL, we don't have any flare ups. Rather than repeatedly administering a quick fix spray down with insecticide again and again without a long term solution, these guys make sure no pest problems occur in the first place by attacking the problem at the source. The in-wall injections they did through the plumber's plates under my sinks got rid of all the bugs hiding in the walls. They used to like to come out to nibble on crumbs or scare my girls when they're trying to shower. . .no longer. I would highly recommend Frontline to anyone looking to try out a pest control service. I could not be happier with the freedom and relaxation they have afforded me. read more

Once you sign, they will bill you for months/years through auto renewal with no notice. Cancellation requests in writing are ignored. They will tell you unlawfully that you must call. They will bill you monthly but only show up once per year to take a picture of their truck in the driveway and continue billing. Open cases with the FTC and OAG. I can't say this loudly enough -- DO NOT waste your money on Frontline Pest Control. They are the textbook example of a company that takes your money, fails to deliver results, and then traps you in a contract to keep charging you for their incompetence. I hired Frontline to handle a roach problem, and after several visits, the roaches are still here. Their "fix" was to keep sending someone over -- as if repeating the same failed approach would magically work. The problem never improved, and when I told them I wanted out, they had the nerve to say I was locked into a contract until July 2026 and would have to pay a $250 termination fee to stop a service that never worked in the first place. They call it a "contract." I call it a trap. Any company with integrity would release an unsatisfied customer -- but not Frontline. Their priority isn't solving pest problems; it's locking people in and squeezing every dollar possible out of them, no matter how bad their service is. If you value your time, money, and sanity, run the other way. Frontline Pest Control should change their name to Frontline Customer Extortion. We purchased their service because our neighbors said they had ants And front line knocked on our door saying there was a pest problem in our neighborhood We don't want twice the ants because front line treated their yard and the ants all came our way It wasn't a service we felt we needed, when we tried to cancel and they just put our service on hold for 6 months and reduced our monthly payment from $120 to $100. Then it stated back up. When a technician came out, we told him that we had canceled and he said yes, but his visit was included in what we had already paid. When I realized they hadn't canceled our service the said they needed to come out and pull all their termite traps. Weird because we already had termites traps installed. He came out and said he had removed ours at the beginning of the service and replaced them with theirs. Very odd and possibly sketchy company - Called to schedule a one time pest control service - just the basic household pests. I requested an invoice/report after treatment is completed. I am a property manager who has has used multiple pest control companies over the last few years, and this has never been an issue - in fact, it's usually something that comes through automatically after service. To be clear, this is typically a simple report stating the date, service, price paid, and a brief summary (Sprayed exterior of building, filled holes/points of entry on side of home, type of details). I was told by Baker this was not possible because a special type of "license" is needed. I clarified if they are licensed - they said they are but not the type of license where you can give ANY sort of paper documentation. We need this for reimbursement and also for local compliance (I specified this is not for a loan or anything more stringent, where it needs to be very detailed and require certain information) - I would've taken just a receipt showing date and treatment. He said the most they can do is an invoice - I said that is great, as long as it shows we paid for and received treatment. Baker repeated this wasn't possible, and I asked him what this invoice he was speaking of. He said it's a VERBAL INVOICE. That is ABSOLUTELY absurd - I told him that's not what invoice means - invoice is essentially a receipt (which by default, would need to be written). He argued that a phone call IS the definition of an invoice. He offered to transfer me to customer service (he said he was in sales), but stated they would tell me the same thing. I did request to still speak with them, but got disconnected after a couple minutes of holding (I am on a landline, so the disconnection definitely wasn't from my end). Not only can they not provide simple documentation but it seems like they have very an odd understanding of what basic terms mean. Would've loved to use them for all the positive reviews. read more

We already were using Best Exterminating and they did a great job. The Frontline Rep said they could help with our Latern Fly Bug problem so I was like ok I'll try them out. My porch is currently covered in them so what they said they could help with, obviously they could not. I canceled and it cost $300 to cancel with them. I called just looking for an estimate explaining I had a serious mouse problem, and Frontline sold me on services that seemed like they would come spray, treat, etc. Because my problem was so pressing, I was desperate to find a service and this sounded like a good option. It turns out, Frontline only plugs holes and puts down bait traps for mice, something I could've done. They didn't even fully evaluate the problem area I noted (my attic). I probably should've payed closer attention, but when I went to cancel they threw a $200 contractual cancellation fee in my face. Now I'm out several hundred dollars, mice are still running through my attic, snakes have come in my house because they were attracted to the mice, and I'm going to have to find a pest company that actually will help. DON'T USE!! EXPENSIVE AND HUNDREDS IN FEES IF YOU CANCEL!!! Even if you move to a property like a condo that does not have pests!!! Or you are dissatisfied with service!!! I actually called twice to cancel and the first time someone said they would cancel me no questions or push back but I continued to get billed and contacted with next treatment date. So I called again to inform them I had moved and they couldn't treat that address or my new one and that I continued to be charged. It was not at all explained to me at sign up that I was being locked into a contract with a cancellation fee. After I called the second time and sat on hold for 20 minutes, I was told by the account manager they would give me a "break" of a discount on the fee even though I already had pest control before so to have a fee of hundreds of dollars was ridiculous and never was explained I would have to pay if I cancelled for any reason. I moved and only had 2 treatments in 6 months and they still slapped me with the bill! SO NOT WORTH IT! Mind you I also referred them business which I am now regretting and making others aware of these ridiculous fees that are not on par with the competition. Service was average at best - still had a lot of spiders, but customer service is VERY poor and kept trying to push me to get the new owners to sign up or treat my no-pest condo to avoid the fee. Complete crap. Any other company if the new address can't be serviced or is out of service area, they don't slap you with a cancellation fee. A fee in which in my case never should have been passed along since they only came out twice because that property was regularly treated prior to them starting service. If you do use them for whatever reason, BEWARE it is very difficult to get a hold of anyone when you call in and they only autodial you to give you little heads up about when they plan to treat next. Not much flexibility in dates either for treatment. It's when it works around their schedule. I now understand why I don't see them much in my area because there is definitely better services out there for LESS and with better service!! You've been warned. They would still come out, and we would tell them we cancelled service. They'd acknowledge and say they'll let *whoever* know. Then we start getting bills, even for services that WERE NOT performed. So we start calling.. we can't send an email to cancel, we have to call. Cool.. but every single flipping time we call, we're always told that we have to speak with an account manager. I bought into three of their services. In December they "experienced a system error" and double charged their customers. I caught it and called them. Talked to THREE people at Frontline and although they acknowledge the error they do not intend to correct the systemwide error or refund your double payment until each customer detects it - writes them a letter - and includes their credit card and/or bank statements proving the over-payment. HOLY CHIMICHANGAS BATMAN! Are you serious? Then cancel my service ... "Sure, no problem. That will be $650 for the cancellation fee." So ... if you have them - please check to ensure you also did not get a double charge just prior to Christmas. We were pretty content with our service since 2010. The service people were always kind when applying. Upselling of services has increased in the past few years and I am not a fan.In the past year, we kept having service people show up for a service we did not sign up for. Last month we were charged for a service we did not sign off on. I called the office to dispute the charge and was told that a person would call back in one hour on Friday. They called on Sat afternoon and left a message. I called again on Tuesday twice to make sure that we would not be charged again or have application specialists show up at the house. When I called back the second time, Emma, in customer service put me on hold and left it on speaker while she was conveying the situation to the account rep. I did not raise my voice with her nor was a disrespectful. The story she told was quite different. I even said " HEY! I can hear you!" to let her know that she was on speaker. When the call was handed over to the account manager, I made sure to let him know that I could hear the full conversation and that they might need to train that department better. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they are terrible. I had been a regular customer for years and told them on no less than 25 occasions to PLEASE not show up at my home without at least 2 days' notice, because I don't always need service and they charge you if you cannot cancel in time, but they never did were able to give me notice and I was therefore charged on numerous occasions for a service I did not need. When I actually needed treatment for bees that were making a nest in my house trim, I contacted them in mid-July and it took a month and a half to get someone to actually treat the issue. The first time someone came but didn't do the service because no one was home, but I had called and told them I would not be there and explained the exact issue and location (which was outside) and in the text they sent saying they were coming, it said not one needs to be home. The 2nd time, the tech said he had to cancel because his equipment was broken down. The 3rd time, the tech came and said he couldn't do the job because he didn't have the correct equipment, but I called several times and said it was a treatment for bees. The 4th time someone came out, again they did not do the treatment because no one was home. The 5th time, which was 2 weeks later someone came out but didn't have the correct chemicals to treat the problem. On the 6th time, someone came and sprayed something from the ground to a 2nd story nest that got all over my garden but did not reach the bees, and did not work. I called again and they told me to wait a week and then call again. I called and someone out and said that chemical the last tech used was not only not going to work for bees but was toxic if ingested. This person asked if my family or pets had eaten any of the vegetables that were covered in the white chemical that was used and I said yes, he said to stop and either throw them out or scrub them before eating them. No one told us that before and he said the tech should have informed us to that. This person originally said he could not do the treatment because he did not have a ladder or the right chemical to treat the problem; mind you the nest had not moved, it had only grown bigger over the month and a half, but after some consideration, he borrowed my ladder and used a spray that he found in his car to treat the bees. The spray he used was just like what can be purchased by anyone in a store. After almost 6 weeks and 7 visits, the bees are gone but I could have saved a lot of money and damage to my home and health by doing it myself. The final straw with this company, however, was today when I realized that they charged my credit card $129. I called to ask what the charge was and was informed that it was for a treatment quarterly treatment on October 3rd that would cover the next 3 months. However, per usual, i was not given at least 2 days' notice that they were coming and I did not need service. I tried to explain this to Joseph, and said the company was too difficult to deal with and wanted to cancel my service all together. I said I was willing to (reluctantly) pay for the October service (that I did not need, want, or even know they did until I called), but would like a credit for November and December. I was told by Joseph, the account manager with no one above him in rank (he is not the owner but per his words, there is no other manager above him), that he was willing to give me $40 back but nothing more. I explained to him the countless issues I had with them over the years with the no notice, charges for un-needed or wanted service, and then the bees and would appreciate a refund for the next 2 months that I would not be using, but he said NO. He said he could see the many issues I had but still nothing more than $40. Ironically we immediatly found termites, which made me laugh out loud. Sometimes things line up perfectly. I also had a small problem with pavement ants around my cement and in my grass. After the second treatment probably 95% of all the ants were gone. We bought a Groupon for pest control with Frontline because there were ants crawling around the window of our baby's nursery. A technician came by and did some spraying inside, although we are not sure what he did outside. Within a day the ants were as bad or worse than before. We called back and asked them to redo the job, and they told us that they don't come back for Groupons, but had the audacity to ask us to enter a long term contract with us, so they could take more of our money and not resolve anything. read more

We signed with Frontline after having been approached through one of their neighborhood canvas/door-to-door campaigns. The service entailed them treating both the inside and outside for preventive measure. BUYER BEWARE!! We would schedule an appointment with them during times we could be available to have the inside done. They would confirm said appointment and then show up when they wanted. They would claim to have treated the outside perimeter of our home, when we have a fenced and gated back yard that they had no way to access. Essentially, the inside/outside job they SAY they do, only equates to a 2 minute spray of your front porch. My husband called to give them one last opportunity to rectify the situation. The person on the phone apologized profusely and assured him there would be no more scheduling hiccups. He made the appointment for Dec. 14th. No one came. No one called. ONE WHOLE WEEK LATER, its December 21st at 9 am in the morning. The door bell rings. Its Frontline there to do our service!! We kindly asked the technician to leave and explained that we would be discontinuing our service soonest. This guy had the nerve to tell us, 'Just so you know they're going to keep billing you until you send something in writing.' Great. Wonderful. So I get online to send such a notification. No contact information on their website. Yes, if you are a current customer you can sign in using your account number. Would anyone care to GUESS what their account number is? Keep on guessing because there is NOTHING on any of the invoices that remotely resembles an account number. Turns out its the first few characters of your address. If that seems simple enough, you can close your eyes and take a stab in the dark how many characters that entails as it varies by customer. Nice. I decided to send my cancellation through their 'contact us' form. Seems reasonable enough, right? Nope. Wrong again. So then I call AGAIN. I have a 30 minute conversation with who turned out to be the person who flubbed up our last appointment--that's rich. She apologizes AGAIN (broken record) and tells me that a supervisor or manager is going to call me back the same day. You guessed it again, no phone call. So I call back again the next day. This time I get an assistant manager. Not only were there no comments as to the previous day's interaction, I had to write (that's right, you guessed it) ANOTHER email requesting to cancel my service. Other than that, I'm sure Frontline is a GREAT company. read more

I had centipede problem and I had them treat once and saw very little improvement. Over the next 2 weeks they went back another 3 times and continued to see minimal improvement. My house was on the market and this issue made it virtually impossible to sell. I went with another company and the issue is now under control. When I called to get my money back, they refused to refund me for a service that did not work for me. They only offered to come back out, but that obviously was not wanted as it has proven not to take care of this specific problem. I had the pleasure of having our home serviced today by Jahmaine, once again! He serviced our home over 1 year ago and I have ALWAYS requested him ever since then! He operates with a certain HIGH level of quality and excellence in what he does EVERY TIME! My husband and I had a pest problem in the garage, and then discovered one in the basement... Jahmaine got in there, got it DONE and went above and beyond to make sure I felt satisfied that the problem was handled. To this day, the garage has NEVER been infested like it was prior to Jahmaine coming in and treating the necessary areas... and to be honest, I have never seen a problem in the garage again (outside of the regular straggler pest due to its location to the outside). TODAY, Jahmaine came in to handle a new problem I discovered in the basement, and he went above and beyond, as he ALWAYS does, to get it taken care of, treated, and made sure the area was left in a very CLEAN manner. Jahmaine, I thank you over and over again! I will ALWAYS request you as our service tech when we treat our home because I always see improvement when you leave. I HAD TO send this review as it was essential to highlight those who are still working with excellence during the pandemic, and I hope this message is conveyed to Jahmaine (Waldorf location) so he knows he is appreciated. they were very confident about their services when signing in. it ended up they lied(they dont perform services on commercial building which reps said they do, there hidden fee when cancelling which reps will not explain), poor service(an hour work went down to less than 15 mins). i would like to say they are scammer level. read more

Well I was very impressed with Greg. He was here doing the time window and explained everything very well. What was really impressive is that he put on his booties uncovered his shoes was very respectful by asking if he could go to certain areas of the house to treat them. Before he even arrived I had to schedule this appointment 3 times and the staff on the phone we're very helpful and cordial. Customer service was excellent not only with setting up the appointment but also would giving me all the information I needed about the products used and the guarantees. Only thing I don't like the glue traps they left. Poor skink got stuck and we had to free it...panful. read more
