0 Stars. Frontier is the worst cable & internet provider ever. When they took over my Verizon account, I fought with them for months over my bill. They could never get it right! For 2 YEARS they billed me 5 dollars a month for an unlisted phone line that I DISCONNECTED!!!!. For 3 months I called to fix the charge, but it took over an hour each time to get assistance. One time a representative was "transferring" me to their "manager", after waiting on hold for 30 minutes the representative picked up and said "O you are still there?" YES YES YES I'm still here, I'm still upset. I stuck it out with them and stopped complaining about the $5 charge for about a year and a half because I was in the process of buying a home and new I would be moving and didn't want to start a contract with another company. After moving, I cancelled my account on January 10th. They told me my account would officially close on Jan. 22nd because I was paid up until that date. They sent me the boxes to return my equipment. I returned my equipment. In February I received a bill for $175.27. I called and spent an hour on the phone getting the charges zeroed out and confirming my account was really closed. They assured me I would receive a $0 bill in the mail next month as proof. I just received a bill for $125.27. So I just spent 40 minutes on the phone. I spoke to a customer service rep, then a billing rep, then a collections rep. All 3 said O that's just the system, it will continue billing you for 90 days and then it will just fall off. Then I asked for something in writing confirming my account was closed and that I do not OWE any money, because these bills are confusing. So the collections rep was supposed to be transferring me to their supervisor. I wasn't surprised when I started hearing the automated questions in Spanish. This is terrible customer service. It's awful that Frontier thinks it is totally normal and acceptable to continue billing someone for 90 DAYS after an account is CLOSED. I'M PAID IN FULL. I NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT. Frontier Communications (internet, TV and Phone) Just moved to Tampa 6 months ago and I have to say that I have never experienced quality and service this bad. When you call for issues or scheduling you get passed around until the call drops. When you schedule appointments, they don't assign internally then close the ticket - of course you won't know that until the tech doesn't show - then call back and they say it's too late now - you will be schedule for 10 days out again. That happened to me 3 times. TV picture not good. Internet speed not what they advertise and the telephone voicemail pin keeps re-setting. Initial install, the tech just laid the cable across the lawn (not buried!) Equipment in the attic is not plugged in because there is not enough slots in that box. I hope that another company comes in to buy and fix them - this is like no other experience. read more

Why can't I get the channels I paid for... From the very 1st billing cycle I should have known. They billed me for a security system with cameras I didn't have . have one main box and small one upstairs.. internet and tv over 200. Plus dollars with no premium channels I was floored. My service went out yesterday afternoon. We have no phone, cable, and no internet. Called for service and the earliest date is Monday 7/30. Called back today to see if I can get a technician to the house even if we have to pay for this, got disconnected. This is really not acceptable. I am not happy with Frontier and will not recommend to future customer. 7/26/2018 Frontier called me today and dispatch a technician to fix the problem. Frontier deserves a ZERO. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. We have been without Cable, Phone, and internet for days with no resolution. If you call Technical Support you are told they are aware of the problem with no estimated time of resolution. It's the summer time, kids are out of school and I have 4 kids home. Worst Service Ever A week ago I had the box in my master bedroom go bad. After 90 minutes on the phone with a tech it could not be fixed. I waited 4 days for you to mail me a new box. It came with instructions which were useless. I needed to call because your agent did not deactivate the old box and the new one was not added. I spent another 90 minutes on the phone and all they could get working was the local channels. I have extreme hd and none of those channels worked. I scheduled a tech for today from 1-5 am no one showed up or called. At 6:00 I called your tech line again. They told me the appt was canceled. NOT BY ME! I wasted 10 hours on the phone or waiting for a tech. Your agent said he could try to reset the box again. This killed the new box which will not even turn on anymore. I have spent a week now without service in that room and wasted countless hours. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was told they are all in a meeting and even though he noted it in my account he could not guarantee I would get a callback. This is the most disappointing service I have ever received. I want to talk to a supervisor and I want to know how you will compensate me for all these problems and lack of service. My continued use of your service depends on your response. I sent this by email to Frontier to follow up. This is the response I got three days later. Frontier will no longer be using Support Mail. Internet went out and didn't come back on after a power outage, they had me check the ONT box. I found that they never attached the ground so I did it myself. They told me it would be 7 days until they could come and fix my internet. While waiting for the tech today (who never showed up) I got a text. It said text KEEP to keep my appointment. When I did it it said it did not understand and then told me the nearest appointment is now another 5 days from now. This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I only stay because of the fiber optic but I think I am finished now and will see if some other shitty cable company wants to buy out my contract. read more

They were supposed to arrive between 8-12. After calling the local office to track them down, I was on hold for nearly 20 minutes. The woman, Muriel, said they were enroute, but couldn't tell me where they were. When I asked for specifics, I was put on hold again. I finally hung up. Then the technician called to say he'd be there by the end of the day. He said he had "all day appt." in his notes. That's a lie. They called the day before to confirm the "between 8-12"l appointment. I can't stay home any longer. I'm furious. I want to cancel the whole bundle. I was happy with FIOS. OMG what a freakin' nightmare! Thanks a whole bunch Verizon for palming us off on the worst possible company! Frontier clearly knew they were taking over Vios but had zero plan on how to do it! My On Demand service has almost no shows there and a message saying they are working on getting access. Yeah, for 3 weeks now. And yesterday, all of our TV service stopped except for the main box (we have that "whole house" system). So we're paying for 3 boxes that don't work, for services we're not getting, and they have no plan to credit us! The customer service reps (in Connecticut) have no idea what to say or do. And the only thing one told me was that this isn't as bad a transition as one of their other regions! That is supposed to make me feel BETTER??? I never had issues with Verizon. Any time I had a problem I was able to use live chat on my computer (if it was the TV) or tablet (if it was internet) and get help within 5 minutes. I don't like to provide 1-star reviews but this company provides a rare opportunity for exception. Their problems affect my life on a daily basis. Since they took over our account, we still don't have access to the OnDemand content they've promised for months and our internet is spotty EVERY single day. I've been trying to cancel all morning. I've called 6 times and still no luck. I contacted their customer service online and you know what they told me? I have to call. They won't call me either. I've literally waited through the "estimated" hold time of 8 mins, 20 mins and 30 mins and still no luck - their phone system keeps hanging up on me when it tries to connect. This is the most dishonest and/or incompetent company I have ever dealt with. I ordered a piece of equipment that I Decided I didn't need. I called. They sent me a label. I sent the equipment back. They told me they received the equipment and would credit my account. They never refunded the money and lied to me every time I called about it. I purchased the MLB station. Terrible! I was forced to go with Frontier when Verizon moved out. Nothing but problems. When I cancelled their service , Frontier purposely overdrew my final bill amount. When I called Frontier, I asked for several supervisors and could not get a straight answer. Frontier promised to send me a gift card within 60 days and now its going on 3 months, nothing. Frontier Communications just charged my over $15 PER DAY FOR VOICE AND INTERNET! Got got my September bill. The rate for voice and internet jumped from $75/month to $125. My 24 month contract expired, so I was anticipating a bump in price. The real aggravation --- we SOLD OUR HOUSE on Sept 10th, but were charged for a full month (9/2 thru 10/1). We told THEM IN AUGUST that we were selling and asked if they would pro-rate the charge. No. Cannot do it. It is interesting, that Peace River electric will only charge up until Sept 10th. The same with the Manatee Utility Department. Frontier wants their $136.61 for what will be only 9 days of usage for us. That is $15.18 PER DAY - WHICH IS OUTRAGEOUS. Frontier has absolutely NO customer service skills. I will NEVER use Frontier in the future. And I will recommend Spectrum to everyone I talk too. On Sept, 21st I called and spoke to three different people: Tom, who escalated to Austin who sent it to the executive escalation level - Miranda. They kept reading that it is their "policy to bill to the end of the month". I maintained that they do not have a legal right to bill for services not used. I should have listened to the reviews...I signed up for Frontier 2 months ago. I left Spectrum after getting rid of cable and went with Frontier for internet only, the price was great. However, last Thursday my internet stopped working at about 930am. I called Frontier, and after going through all the system checks, they say they needed to send a technician out and it will be 6 days, before anyone e will be out. (I work from home and require internet, so that was not an option for me.) The service rep, Josh, refused to let me speak with a manager, flat out said the mgr would not do anything different than what he was doing and that they didnt have enough technicians employed to get anyone out any sooner. I asked to be transferred to the cancellation dept, to cancel this shotty service asap. They tell me there will be an early cancellation fee (which I will fight as my cancellation was due to their inability to provide service). I went over to Spectrum, an hour later, and they immediately set up my account (at same price as Frontier) provided me with a modem, that I installed myself, and was up and running within 2 hours of cancelling Frontier. I never should have left Spectrum in the attempt to save a few dollars, not worth the headache and loss of time and money dealing with Frontier. So buyer beware, stay away from Frontier. read more

Moved from CA to FL. Arranged install 4 weeks ago for 12-5 today.. Called at 2:30 and Frontier said everything was on track. NO SHOW. Called at 5:30 and they said there were manpower issues. They will call me Mon or Tues with 1hr notice for reschdule. I called Spectrum, faster wi fi, same rate, and they gauranteed install for Monday at 8am. Frontier never had the courtesy to call me, could not keep a commitment, could not provide a reasonable resolution. The worst experience ever. Kinda reminds me of the Bell Telephone days. Absolutely the most insulting customer service I've ever been subjected to. They categorically refuse to comply with H.R.5035 If you already have a cable box there's no way to get rid of it because they won't allow you to return it. The last tech support rep called me a liar when I said I had the TV picking up my local channels fine without the box. The local ones are the only ones I want. Their tech support staff is under trained and often their English is incomprehensible. It generally takes about an our for the average tech to figure out if there's an outage in my area. They also continuously do this thing where they 'upgrade' my TV package to a few basic cable channels, then charge me more. A few months later they'll remove the channels from service and then claim I was never supposed to have them in the first place while maintaining the increase in my bill. Wash, rinse, repeat. They've done it a total of 3 times now since they took over my service area from Verizon. I'm ready to jump ship. read more

If I could choose less than one star, I would. I wish that someone in the leadership at Frontier would call to try to change their service, and go through the absolutely terrible customer experience that follows. I have been trying to change my service for four days, and every step of the way has been a challenge. Each individual is nice, but no one really has any authority, where I keep getting passed on to one person after another. There is no short phone call or online chat. Over the last four days, I have spent over four hours on the phone/chat, been disconnected three times where I had to start over, a phone call appointment was missed by Frontier, and today my scheduled service appointment was missed. I had a morning appointment, and apparently someone came to my house after 12, and again while I was on the phone with Frontier later in the afternoon. The customer service person read the note that said that no one answered the door later in the afternoon, and I was home on the phone at that time with Frontier representative! A complete fabricated lie. I was also told that we didn't respond to calls, which is another complete fabricated lie. The number on the ticket was never called, as my wife only received a text stating that we missed an appointment, and had to click a link to reschedule. I was home all day, and never left the house. Frontier has consistently gotten worse and worse, and after the complete lack of any customer service over the past four days trying to make a simple change to my service, I absolutely am going to find an alternative internet provider. It is incredibly obvious that customer service is not a priority at Frontier, as my experince is not an isolated incident. I will never recommend Frontier, and after today, I am going to make it a priority to switch internet providers. read more

I want to share my experience with Frontier in hopes that it will help prevent future customers repeat the horrible mistake I made in choosing them. I ordered internet and phone service to be installed in my home in Sarasota. 8 calls, 2 days later, I am here to say, they are the worst. They were supposed to arrive on the 27th of February between 8 am and noon. After 4 calls trying to find out when they will arrive, they never showed. I called and arranged for them to come the following day at noon. I called next day at 11:30 am to find that they arrived at 9:30 am, whaaaat??? 4 more calls to find that they could not return until March 7! I walked into Comcast and got service within an hour. They were amazing and so easy to deal with. Frontier wasted nearly 2 days of my life that I cannot get back. Horrible company, abysmal customer service. Avoid them at all cost. read more

I'll keep this short and sweet. Frontier is without a doubt the worst ISP I've ever dealt with. I'll keep it simple with a list of all the things wrong with this god forsaken company. - Their live chat isn't 24 hours. Most of the time it won't even work. - Their customer service reps simply do not give a fuck about the customer. I've literally been ignored in chat twice until I left. - The speeds they advertise is definitely not the speeds you actually receive. I've run multiple tests through a wired ethernet connection. - They wouldn't replace my ancient 5 year old verizon router after they took over FL. I kept telling them that it hardly gets any signal in this small house and turns off at the most aggravating times. No, they need it to be COMPLETELY dysfunctional for a replacement. I'm sure they would even still charge me. - Whatever they assure to you over the phone or in live chat is a load of crap. There is probably a plethora of other issues I'm missing, but overall this company is donkey shit. The fact I made a yelp account just to review this company confirms that. Now, everytime I see a frontier building, I want to throw rocks at their windows and hopefully knock an employee unconscious. Any positive review about this company is either paid off or just lucky. That one time an employee does his job and shows even a hint of concern doesn't make up for a company lacking all types of work and moral ethics. read more

Our experience with Frontier has been a nightmare . TV kept dropping the signal. Wires and flags are still in our yard. Internet was always failing and their customer service was horrendous. We were put on death hold, transferred, and hung up on. We finally said "ENOUGH" and they said we would have to pay for 2 years anyway. If you are considering this company, DON'T!!!!!!!!! This is the problem with a lack of competition. There is no strong motivation to improve customer service. You can experience this when you call Frontier directly. Does a person answer? Absolutely not. You get an automated system. Maybe that is the problem with Frontier - automation not customer service. The chief reason they received 2 stars is because when I do get through the people I have spoken to are great. Bill went up from $100 a month to $160 and 6 months later $240 / month. Spent several hours a month on with customer service each month for several months and they would fix for 1 month then revert to previous elevated pricing. Worst experience I've ever had with an ISP. I originally signed up for an internet / television package through Verizon in June 2015 and, I never had any issues with my services or billing. Verizon then sold all of their accounts in Florida to Frontier Communications in April of 2016. Ever since Frontier took over my account, I feel as if I've been stuck in some sort of recurring nightmare. A few months after Frontier took over my account, I noticed my bill had increased by around $5.00 which, wasn't worth the hassle of having to spend an hour or more on the phone. I lived with the minor price increase. In February 2017, I called into Frontier's customer service center and simply asked how much my monthly bill would decrease if I canceled my television service and only had internet. In order to persuade me to keep my television service, the Frontier representative offered to discount my HBO subscription for six months. I agreed to the discount promotion and ended the call. The Frontier representative mentioned absolutely nothing about "re-bundling" my services or, renewing any service contracts. I then received my bill for March. For months, I had been paying a consistent amount around $133 but, my March bill now listed my amount due as $276 - an increase of over $100 - and I didn't add any new services! Frontier had added some sort of "Personal Device Protection" service to my plan which, was without any prior knowledge or authorization by me. I immediately called Frontier and the representative removed the protection plan and issued a $96 credit to my bill. Still, this only brought my bill down to $180 - for 75 Mbps internet and the basic television package + HBO. After 5-6 hours on the phone and dealing with many different Frontier employees, I was basically advised that I was SOL and that my package was "re-bundled to Frontier pricing" and there was nothing I could do about it. At this point I had enough. I already had to fight with Frontier for four months to get the billing corrected for my employers business account, and I didn't want to deal with this again. I then signed up for Comcast's Xfinity internet + television service. Once my Comcast services were up and running, I called Frontier to cancel my account and disconnect all services. Frontier's retention department then advised I would be responsible for a $210 "Early Termination Fee" since my contract was automatically renewed in February 2017. I argued with this representative for an hour because, I never authorized a two year contract renewal and I was never informed of the contract terms. Finally, I'm transferred to a supervisor who agreed to waive the termination fee. I asked for confirmation of this and the supervisor advised they would call me back with confirmation once the disconnect request went through. Lo and behold, I never received a call back. Worst experience ever. Avoid Frontier if you can because, their billing practices and horrible customer service (none of their representatives seem to put notes on your account) will drive you insane and, it's just not worth the hassle. It's such a shame too, because Verizon FiOS was always a great product and, nobody else in the area seems to offer the symmetrical (matched download/upload) speeds. Frontier needs to get their billing practices under control though because, I've known many people (including myself) that have switched to other providers. read more
